It was expected for anyone to react the way that Ollie just did. Elaina understood how people felt about Ghost pokemon, which was the reason why she felt the need to reassure anyone who came close to her Ghost pokemon knew that they wouldn't harm them. They were actually quite tame as well as friendly, with the exception of Greta, her Hisuian zoroark. However, Greta was sitting out for this job. The reason was that rather than helping, Elaina knew that she'd make the job she and Ollie were doing a bit more difficult.

"Ever Grande? Isn't that where the Pokemon League is located?" Elaina had asked a seemingly rhetorical question, although she was still somewhat adjusting to where each city and town was located within the region. She had been to quite a few places around the region within her short time of finishing her extended training. Regardless, Elaina was impressed, believing that Ollie must be a really talented Ranger to be stationed in a place like Ever Grande. "Unfortunately, no. I live in Mauville. But I don't mind traveling far distances," Elaina admitted with a smile as her ghost pokemon continued dealing with yet another nest. "I actually came from the Unova region," Elaina smiled, opening up a little bit more by telling Ollie where she was actually from.

Just shortly after Elaina had asked her question, It appeared Tam had gotten a call, requiring him to take it. After finishing the call, it seemed that he was relieved of duty. Elaina didn't know the true reason behind the sudden change, however, a replacement had come just as Tam left, and it was someone that Elaina had come to know quite well. It was none other than her second-in-command, Josh Devlin. "I understand completely," Elaina smiled at Josh, not feeling the need to ask any questions in regards to Tam. It wasn't her business to know exactly what had happened, so she didn't feel the need to press the matter any further. Instead, she and Josh had begun to focus on the initial task at hand - her assessment.

Elaina quickly pulled out her phone, looking over the images of the pokemon Josh had described to her. "Hmm, I've never seen these before ... which means that they are most likely native to the Paldean Region," Elaina had surmised. She had only known a select few pokemon native to that region, Annihilape, which she owned, was one of those very few pokemon she knew about. Still, despite her lack of knowledge on the pokemon, she was determined to stopping the Poachers who were after them. "Understood," Was all Elaina had said, now knowing exactly what it was that she'd have to do.

With that, Elaina lead the way down the path, with Josh more than likely following a fair distance behind her. The group of Poachers that were after the Clodsire was found in the direction they were heading. It appeared that they had just caught on of the Clodsire in the trap that they had set. Just as the Poacher was about to draw near the captured pokemon, Elaina swiftly, released her Hisuian Zoroark, Greta, allowing her to get close and swipe not at the Poacher, but at the trap, pinning the clodsire down with a SHADOW CLAW, freeing it right then and there. "What the!? Where'd you come fr-" The poacher was trying to say, however, Ansel, Elaina's Spiritomb, appeared in front of the poacher using SHADOW SNEAK, only for the man to be cast in the ghost's HYPNOSIS, falling to the ground asleep.

Just as the Poacher fell to the ground, other poachers came to the scene just in time to watch their buddy fall. The two other poachers that appeared, released their own pokemon, beginning to attack Elaina's, prompting Greta and Ansel to do battle. "Let's finish this, quickly," Elaina said to her pokemon somewhat sternly. These small fry were in the way, however, by dealing with them, she'd be one step closer to finding as well as turning the one responsible in once the Police arrive.

The Drifblim started to attack, preparing a PHANTOM FORCE attacking in unison, but before they could reappear, Skoffnung used King's Shield, not only blocking all of their attacks but weakening them as well. One of Drifblim had tried to reach for the children, however, Alex's gallade had saved them by using TELEPORT.

The less harm my pokemon can cause to the surrounding area, the better, Elaina thought to herself. She knew that having her pokemon go all out would risk harming Alex, or worse, the kids. She didn't want to risk that. "Infernia, Infernal Parade!" Elaina had commanded, having her Hisuian Typhlosion conjure purplish orbs fire, launching it at one of the Drifblim, injuring it. "Amber, use Brine!" Elaina had said, prompting the female Jellicent to attack, a wave of water crashing down onto the same one that her Hisuian Typhlosion attacked just shortly before. Skoffnung then changed stances, attacking the others with AERIAL ACE.

Due to attacking of Elaina's pokemon, The drifblim decided to make a hasty retreat. Rather than following after them, Elaina felt that it was best for her not follow after them. She turned to Alex and said, "I doubt that they'll be back. I think we should get the children out of here before we run into anything else down here," Elaina had said, prompting her to look over her shoulder, making sure that the coast was clear, so to speak.

Elaina stood there, listening to the man’s distorted voice coming through his mask. “Smart,” She thought to herself. Probably a ploy to keep people from hearing what he actually sounds like. Regardless of what he sounded like though, Elaina was able to understand what was being said to her. However … why would he want the executive and not both? As Elaina pondered that question, she answered him calmly. “Fine, he’s yours.” She said, not really having the time to make negotiations with a vigilante. Nor were they exactly in a safe place to do so either.

As the masked vigilante punched the code in to open the panic room doors, Elaina brought out the rest of her pokemon, knowing full well that a battle would immediately ensue once those doors opened. Her Annihilape as well as the rest of her Ghost Pokemon were ready to fight. That was when the man had said he wanted it to be known that he was here, which Elaina raised an eyebrow towards. It was clear that he wanted to send a statement, but was this statement solely toward Rocket? Or the League as well? Elaina decided not to answer due to the panic room door opening up slowly.

Elaina held her smirk; giving Alex a nod, before calling out a few more of her pokemon. A Jellicent, Aegislash, and Hisuian Typlosion materialized in front of the two rangers. “Don’t hurt the kids. Protect them if it comes to it,” Elaina had said to her ghost pokemon. She didn’t know whether or not the wild drifblim and drifloon would resort to hurting the children, so keeping them out of harm's way was a top priority. Elaina’s ghost pokemon rushed in, heading towards the flashing purple light that was ahead, beginning to start a fight with the children’s captors.

As soon as Elaina followed behind her ghost pokemon, she started to see exactly where the purple flashes of light were coming from. It was coming from the Drifblim themselves, emanating a CONFUSE RAY on the group of children in the center of the room. “Stop them, now! Remember, don’t hurt the children,” she said to the pokemon, beginning to battle against the drifblim, attempting to break their focus from using their powers on the kids.

Elaina stood up, giving Ollie a smile. From the looks of things, he was open to being friendly. “Pleasure to meet you too, Ollie. As well as your Pikachu,” she said as her pokemon stood beside her. Ira the Annihilape was calm still, as well as Ansel, her spiritomb. “Ira and Ansel here can help with getting the bird pokemon down without harming them.” She said, greeting her ghost pokemon to Ollie and his Pikachu. “They may look scary, but I can assure you, there very well-behaved. In fact, Ansel is considered to be a veteran - given that he worked alongside my father when was in the army back home,” Elaina said, figuring that reassurance of them was normal. Most people when seeing her ghost pokemon tend to get freaked out by them.

“Let’s get started, shall we?” Elaina had said already spotting a nest belonging to a skarmory across the street from where they were standing. “Ansel, use Hypnosis on that skarmory up there,” Elaina said, which prompted the spiritomb to send a wave of psychic energy towards the skarmory, hitting it with immense drowsiness. It was falling out of the nest, however, Ira stepped, hurling itself in the air; catching the sleeping Skarmory. After Ira gently set down in the patch of grass near the sidewalk, it climbed the pole, quickly getting rid of the nest the metal bird at made. “So Ollie, are you stationed here in Lilycove?” Figuring that do some conversating with her partner.
