"I've been in Hoenn for about over a year. Finished my training as a Ranger a few weeks ago," Elaina had answered Alexander's question. "What about you? Are you a local, or were you born in another region?" Elaina had asked, seeming as how they were on the subject. Despite them being on a job, Elaina felt it was natural to get to know her partners while on the job. Whether they felt the need to open up to her was their decision, and from the looks of it, Alex didn't seem to mind opening up a bit in that regard.

After a good fifteen minutes of traversing the smelly sewers, Ansel had stopped, its head swirling much faster than normal. Elaina could also see why it was acting that way. The silhouettes of something floating was coming from a large open area up ahead, with an eerie purple glow. Elaina could also see small figures just standing there, not moving. Are those the missing kids? Elaina had asked herself, trying to get a better look however, no matter how hard she squinted her eyes, the purplish light ahead of them was still too dim to make out what was there. "We'll have to get closer. You ready for this?" Elaina had said, asking Alexander. The question was obviously rhetorical, given her small smirk.

Elaina looked up to see a man coming to the scene on a Flygon. After he had returned the dragon to his Pokeball, he greeted himself to Elaina, which prompted her to smile at her teammate. "Elaina Pierce, and likewise," she said, pausing before continuing. "I think it's odd that the drifloon and drifblim are taking the children down into the sewers ... it's not normal behavior," She said, placing a hand under her chin; trying to think of why they chose such an eccentric place to their captors.

"At any rate, let's get going yeah?" she said, pointing toward the sewer entrance, having no trouble climbing down first. As soon as she touched the floor, she took a few steps forward, pulling out a flashlight, as well as a Pokeball, calling out Ansel, her Spiritomb. "Since we're tracking down Ghost pokemon, using a Ghost pokemon will play to our advantage, and it just so happens that I'm knowledgable with ghost types," She informed Alexander just as he made his way down. The smell down there was god-awful, however, there wasn't much they could do about that, unfortunately.

"I am a quick learner. Besides, I had a really great teacher," she said, being modest while also referring to Shalin herself. After all, if it wasn't for her, Elaina would have never gotten this far in the Normal Division Tournament. Chances are that Elaina would have probably been eliminated in the first round without question. So, she was grateful that Shalin had helped her when she had asked for it. The two women waited until the finals began, and then once more, the announcer's voice rang through their vicinity. Elaina was kind of shocked by how the finals were vastly different from all of the other matches. What's more, is that the songs they'd be doing were considered to be new content.

When Elaina saw her two songs, she wasn't surprised, yet still wasn't sure if she was gonna win this against JAITO. From what she had seen on her breaks with Shalin, he was really good for a beginner - definitely, way better than Elaina was. Before she knew it though, it was finally time to start back up again. The song that was randomly selected was Typhon - Basic. Elaina had definitely been well-rested, being able to give it her all, however, JAITO had a 1,000-point lead on her in the end. Elaina groaned slightly that she had lost, however, her frown quickly grew into a lackadaisical smile. "Well, I figured I wouldn't have won, but at least I tried," Elaina shrugged; still wearing her smile.

Elaina smiled at Josh, giving him a nod. However, just before she was about to call out her skarmory once more. Another beedrill appeared, and judging by its slightly larger body, it was the leader of the hoard that attacked the young man. “We’ll head out after this last one is dealt with,” Elaina smirked, knowing just pokemon to handle this overgrown bee. Two, in fact. She released her final two pokemon - her Zoroark and Annhilape. “Don’t kill it, but make sure it won’t bother us,” Elaina said sternly to the two. Greta and the Annihilape nodded together, hearing Elaina’s words. The hisuian zoroark roared, gathering black abysmal energy, while the Ira the Annihilape did the same, gathering it in its fist. Just as the gigantic beedrill lunged after them, Greta unleashed her BITTER MALICE simultaneously with Ira’s RAGE FIST, colliding into the massive beedrill together.

When the smoke cleared, the massive beedrill was knocked out cold. “Well, I don’t think it’ll be following after us. Same goes for the rest of the hoard,” Elaina said, calling back the rest of her pokemon to their respective pokeballs before sending out her skarmory. Moments before she hopped on Daedalus, She and Josh took off on their respected flying pokemon; dropping the young man off at his home. “Despite you’re injury, I think things went well,” Elaina had said to her second-in-command. “Make sure you get that taken cared of, yeah?” She smiled before she and Josh officially parted from one another. She was glad that she brought a pokemon that could heal injuries, otherwise, Josh’s arm would’ve been much worse than it was currently.

Meanwhile, Selena and Skoffnung were continuing to work well together, keeping up their defensive counters, and weakening the Beedrill that were attacking them. Amber the Jellicent had also got attention from the hoard of Beedrill but were quickly taken care of by a well-placed BRINE, using the water it formed to severely dampen the Beedrill’s wings, making them fall harshly to the ground. With their wings severely wet, they could not fly let alone get off their backs. Amber then gently took Josh’s injured arm, using RECOVER to heal his wound. It more than likely wouldn’t fully repair it, but it would nullify the sensation he felt for the most part. After the mission was over, he’d need to seek proper medical treatment.

One of Slateport's Busiest streets was closed off, making a lot of people frustrated ... as well as concerned. There have been reports of children going missing. All of the missing children's parents said that it was because of Ghost pokemon, particularly, Drifloon and Drifblim ... but that wasn't the odd part. Elaina had gathered some more intel, learning that some civilians had seen Drifloon and Drifblim take their captives down into the one place where one would ever dare go. Slateport's underground sewers ...

It was Elaina's job to go down into the underground sewers and bring those children back to their respective homes safely. Elaina stood in front of the sewer's opening in the middle of the street, while the city police did their best to make sure that all vehicles took the detour route, waiting for her partner to arrive. Going down into the sewers wasn't something that bothered her necessarily ... although, as soon as her job was finished, she'd more than likely go home and take a nice and long hot shower.

"The things I do for my job ..." She mentally sighed as the thought sounded through her.
