Two men were dining in a fancy restaurant, champagne glasses clinking against each other. One man was in his forties, overweight, wearing an Alolan shirt and sunglasses. The other was noticeably younger, tanned and handsome, a Quaxly sitting on his lap.

“You’ve made a killing, kid! That last fashion gig was a great success!”
“Everything I touch is blessed with greatness!” The young man haughtily said, sipping his beverage. “By the way, you’re fired.” He bluntly added.
“What?!”
“Did I stutter?”
“You can’t fire me, kid! I’m your manager! You’d never have made it this far without me!”
“You’re just a pup who followed me all the way to Hoenn because you couldn’t handle losing your golden egg-laying goose. The only reason anyone remembers your name is because you were lucky enough to find me.”
“Don’t get cocky, kid! Do you know who I am?!”

The more the older man raised the tone of his voice, the more patrons’ eyes were drawn to their table, staff members on edge in case their verbal quarrel escalated into a physical one.

"You caught one. Good for you." Leonicio remarked, showing about as much enthusiasm as a middle-aged Karen meeting her daughter-in-law for the first time. That girl and her noisy chickens were becoming more of an annoyance.

No time to dwell on that. A Sweet Scent lingered in the air, heralding the arrival of a wild Aromatisse. "That one might be worth catching too... Rio, Aqua Jet." He ordered in a deadpan tone, his Quaxly speeding towards the grotesque ball of fluff fast enough to avoid the incoming Fairy Wind. "Liquidation." The baby duck slammed into the opponent using a full-force blast of water, knocking them backwards.

The Rocket grunt hurled a Pokéball at the weakened Fairy type, while Rio stepped back and flipped his amazing hair with sass that rivaled even Kara's own birds.

The young man stopped in his tracks. One last Pokémon stood in his way, its flamboyant appearance making his blood boil. "You!" He bellowed, his handsome visage twisted into a mask of fury. "How dare you remind me of HIM?!"

Without any remorse, he sicced Narcissus on the diminutive equestrian, Calm Mind-boosted Psychics chipping away at Ponyta's defenses. The Fairy-type horse fired a Psybeam in retaliation, but the Kirlia swerved out of the way like a graceful dancer, closing the distance between them in the blink of an eye, before delivering a finishing Draining Kiss.

Leo debated whether he should even catch such a contemptible creature, but his greed ultimately got the better of him. "Ugh, fine!" He huffed, hurling his last Safari Ball at the fainted Ponyta.

Moving away from the spot where he had bullied that poor turtle, Leonicio came upon an apple lying in the middle of the road. "That's strange..." Who would throw away a perfectly good apple? Picking up the doctor-repelling fruit, he dusted it off, and prepared to bite into it, when suddenly, a pair of antennae popped out of it.

"Eeyaaaugh!" Leo let out a manly cry, dropping the living apple onto the ground in his shock. The wild Applin promptly ran away, bouncing on its tiny body.

Porygon's pupils flashed red, as it performed a full body scan on Lulu's Alakazam, tracing their Illuminate ability. Glowing, pixelated markings appeared all over its blocky body, a cheap knockoff of the Illumina state.

"You heard her, Narcissus! Hypnotize that thing!" Leo ordered his Kirlia, who fired hypnotic beams from their eyes. However, the digital monster deftly dodged the attack, and continued to zip around the room at high speeds. The young man gritted his teeth. "Argh, stop moving!"

Lulu Flint

Leo's eyes were drawn to a Tirtouga crawling towards the nearest body of water, using its large flippers to move its body forward. This seemed way too good of an opportunity to not be an asshole. "Endangered species? Bah! That's just natural selection!" He scoffed, kicking the poor turtle until it was flipped upside-down.

Fighting back like a cornered animal, the Tirtouga fired a Water Pulse. Narcissus intercepted the attack and countered it with a Psychic, weakening the Fossil Pokémon even further so that the prideful trainer could throw a ball at it. Good thing the warden wasn't looking, because this definitely counted as animal abuse.

Well, it hadn't taken much to get on her good side. Leo knew that his Paldean accent was very popular with the ladies, but to get such a spirited reaction? Talk about needy! "Nice to meet you too, dear!" The male model quipped back, effortlessly faking a sincere smile. If that girl was so excitable, perhaps he could use her...

His silent musings were interrupted by a spring-shaped tail poking out of the bushes. The young man went to investigate. Unbeknownst to him, Kara was having a mini adventure of her own trying to catch a particularly meddlesome Cyclizar. "Here, kitty, kitty." Leo extended his hand towards the Glameow hiding in the vegetation. The violet feline meekly approached him, sniffing his digits. It then started purring, allowing the human to pet it.

Having tamed the Glameow enough to attempt a capture, the spoiled Marceliño heir cast a sideways glance at Kara and her angry bird. "Can you keep it down back there? You're gonna scare this kitty away!" He said, alternating between being courteous and rude at the drop of a hat.

A Phanpy? Some would have found its appearance cute, but Leo wasn't interested in the little elephant. He wasn't very fond of Ground-type Pokémon in general. Why did they always have to be covered in dirt? Gross!
