If even one of those tongues made contact with his melting body, he assuredly would've been knocked out, and the battle would've been all but lost. Yet despite the odds, he avoided the onslaught, and made it through the other side without a drip of saliva touching him.

But the fight wasn't over yet. Not until Froakie was defeated.

With that, Meltan allowed the electrical energy within his body to flow into the palm of his tiny little hand, before launching it forth in the form of a Thunder Shock.

Unlike your last Dynamax opponent, this one was fairly quick to rely on reach for their Dynamax Band. Is that better, or worse? Frankly, you're not sure. You never really bothered solving the size-sturdiness equation, mainly because you still can't afford a Dynamax Band of your own. Oh well. At the end of the day, your goal hasn't really changed. You've still got to beat this Eevee: It just happens to be bigger now.

Meltan will be fine. Again, this isn't the first Dynamax user you've been this tournament.

"ooo (*´▽`*) big dog!" Meltan takes a moment to marvel at the size of his opponent, before letting out a yelp as the G-Max Cuddle shoots forth. Fortunately, he's gotten used to dodging powerful attacks like this, even in spite of his lack of legs. "meltan beam!"

As it skids away from the aftermath of the G-Max Cuddle, Meltan fires a Flash Cannon towards its gigantic opponent.

As you stand across from Kouji, you take a moment to look him up and down. It's been a while since you've actually gotten to talk with him, what with all the nonsense going on. He's certainly changed a lot since then.

Perhaps a little too much. Look, you really don't want to get into an HR meeting over something this insubstantial, but, like, c'mon. You've gotta ask.

Except as Tofu is about to find out, it is broken, and he's not going to be able to fix it. What happens when you combine the overwhelming electrical output of a Max Move with the inherent magnetic pull of a Meltan's body?

...Okay, confession time: You don't actually know how a railgun works. You don't even know how magnets work, and you don't know how electricity works either, so this is doubly unknown for you. You cannot even begin to process the mechanics behind this "move", if it can even be called that. And yet, as you watch Meltan be launched forth at blinding speeds, you can perfectly understand that this is among the most powerful attacks of all Meltankind.

Turned into a living projectile, Meltan smashes right into the stomach of the Gigantamax Pikachu with a mach-speed Headbutt.

As the Zeraora rushed forth, Meltan moved to hit them with a Flash Cannon, but he was already too late. The moment that the Zeraora began to move, Meltan's defeat was all but assured. The coalescing light didn't even have the opportunity to fully charge before the electric beast closed the distance in the blink of an eye.

Because the thing about Quick Attack? Is that it really was a quick attack.

"uh oh."

THUNK. With that one decisive blow, Meltan was sent skidding across the floor, his single eye swirling about as his lay there unconscious. The winner of this match was clear: Zeraora had won.

It's not the first time you've laid eyes upon the phenomena, but it's certainly the first time you've seen it on Hoenn's shores. Before the Flash Cannon lands, the electric mouse goes from tiny to titanic, growing a hundred sizes in the span of a second. It's quite the spectacle, especially considering that it's standing opposite of Meltan, who barely comes up to your shins at the best of times. Still, if there's one creed that you live your life by, it's that size doesn't matter as much as spirit. It'll take more than a little Gigantamax to put a stop to--

ZAP. "gweh! @_@ owie..."

Nevermind, he just got absolutely mollywhopped by that G-Max Volt. You can't even begin to consider how bad that hurts, but if it's anything like your poor experiences with electric fences, then you certainly don't envy Meltan right now.

THWACK! Froakie does, indeed, smack down Meltan. It sounds like the kind of exaggerated noise that plays in slapstick when somebody gets hit by a frying pan. It'd be pretty funny, if it weren't for the fact that it signified you were losing. Still, Meltan quickly recovers from the hit and scrambles back, putting a little distance between him and the frog.

Distance that allows for the charging, aiming, and firing of a Flash Cannon. Is it risky? Sure is! If this attack misses or if Froakie dodges it, there's a good chance you just straight-up lose this battle. But if you hit it?

Then you're in the moneyzone.

...Not that this tournament has cash prizing, mind, but in the abstract sense? It's moneyzone.

The Eevee quickly recovers from the impact, and retaliates with a Swift. At first, that seems like it might be a problem, because you have to be swift to avoid a Swift, and "swift" is absolutely not a word you'd use to describe Meltan. You've said it many times before, but it bears repeating - Meltan does not have legs. Frankly, it's a wonder he can even move with any kind of pace at all.

Yet move with pace he does, scrambling away from the barrage of stars to buy himself some time. And once he has enough, he turns around and releases a blast of electricity from his body, lightning lashing out from his arms and arcing through each of the projectiles, before leaping for the source: Eevee.

"meltan thunder!"

Or, as most people would call it, a Thunder Shock.

For a moment, it seemed like you might've actually gotten away with your risky push. Plenty of attacks are coming from both sides, but none of them are directed towards you. The arrival of Cillian Quinn and Hitoshi Inoue certainly helps, as does the meddling of Belial Stone and the ever-present threat of @howard's Regice. There's a good few seconds where you fully believe you're in the clear.

And then, a technicolour head is flung high into the air, accompanied by a sinister jingling. Shit! A Mind Blown!? And one of that size, too? That's not good. Luckily, Dragapult is fast enough to dodge it, but you doubt the same could be said about the titanic Regice. But surely, @howard has a plan for--

He's screaming.

...Well, it's not exactly how you wanted to go out, but...

You take a deep breath, and proceed to throw yourself off of Dragapult and right into the path of the Mind Blown.

BOOM!

The flash of the combustion is blinding. The sound of the explosion is deafening. The smell of smoke choking, yhe taste of iron biting. The sensation of fire burning your skin black is nothing short of agonising. It's sheer sensory overload, and it's nothing short of torture. The scream that tears its way out of your throat is almost enough to burst your lungs. You hit the ground hard, and your Dragapult, spared the worse of the explosion but nevertheless caught in it, falls shortly thereafter.

To describe the full extent of your injuries would be a highly overlong endeavour. Every fracture, every rupture, every inch of burnt skin, it's a list too long to consider right now. It'll certainly be a closed casket funeral for you.

Which makes it all the more miraculous that you're alive.

Alive. Yes.

"I FEEL SO FUCKIN' ALIVE RIGHT NOW."

You try to struggle to your feet, but despite your heart pounding and your adrenaline pumping, your legs don't seem inclined to move. Oh well. Doesn't matter. You're close enough to Palkia now. Close enough to hurt it. Close enough to make it stop. You just need the chance.

With clenched teeth, you manage to drag your arm down to your belt, bringing back the unconscious Dragapult. Then, with another strained tap, you send out your Grimmsnarl. The ogre's attention immediately snaps towards illeana reyes's Blacephalon, the brightly coloured nuisance jingling and jangling about. Without so much as a moment's hesitation, the monster lurches forward, aiming a Foul Play to smash the clown in its neck-stump before its head can possibly regrow.

TL;DR - SHRED IS IN FUCKING AGONY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA (He tanks the Mind Blown on behalf of his boyfriend, suffers immense misfortune yet somehow survives, then sends out Grimmsnarl who Foul Plays to make sure that shit DOES NOT happen again).
Shred's disguise probably got blown to smitheroons by the Clown Bomb but he's still masked (it may or may not be melted onto his face).

But of course, there is a way: The way of Meltan. All roads out from the Meltan Village inevitably converge on the same destination, and as long as he keeps moving forward, he'll always find a way to reach it.

Which is a very nice way of saying HOLY FUCK, HE'S THE LUCKIEST MELTAN ALIVE.

"oh (•ิ_•ิ) er meltan thunder!"

Now right on top of the Primarina, Meltan quickly goes on the offensive once more, firing out a second Thunder Shock in an attempt to hit the Water-type at point blank. Is the strategy a little derivative? Maybe, but will it work out? If he keeps this current streak of luck, then absolutely.
