Scyther had taken the bulk of that hit, the G-Max Replenish had crashed down on her, and caused her to fall towards the ground, struggling; her wings beating almost uselessly; Jett pulled her back to her pokeball. ”Good work, I’ll treat ya later.” He said before he looked back towards the balls hooked on the inside of his leather jacket, clicking hers back into place, he went for another.

”Leave it to me, I’ll smoke ‘em out.” He wasn’t a stranger to violence, he had been a troublesome kid growing up, and was still considered a troublesome adult, a man who lived on the edge of the law. But, he didn’t like hurting people if he could help it, even if it was a member of rocket. ”Lock On.” He told his pokemon again, pointing the Remoraid like a revolver as he threw out Cyclizar.

”Support, use Shed-Tail.” He said to his Cyclizar, Bubba, who used it in order to grant Primarina some cover, just in case. A singular strike that she could take for a free, Bubba’s hardened scale as a defence.

Meanwhile, he sought out the person behind all of this. Moving away from Melody and the battle, Jett circled around, hoping to catch sight of the other trainer.

What he hadn't expected was to see a pokemon of that level, even as his Cyclizar had moved; the sheer presence of this other one, Cobalion. The speed with which it arrived, its look, all of it, was unlike anything that Jett had ever seen before. What a pokemon, so this is what trainers at the peak of the mountain looked like? He would have been lying if he said this wasn't surprising, she hadn't struck him as the type, but she was strong.

He could smell the strong stench, it was definitely the first thing he had noticed; coming to a stop. It was a sickly smell, and Cyclizar beneath him seemed to be the first one to notice it, letting out a rather pitiful sound, and causing it to buck Jett off as he jumped back towards his normal form.

It was a strange move, but Cyclizar was the first one hit with the large bomb that fell down on him, a toxic sludge that burned against its skin, and caused it to let out a roar of pain before it looked for the source of it. ”Hey hey, take it easy.”

He wanted to push through, but it wasn’t to be, just who was behind it; they would just have to follow the smell. ”Sniff them out, then shift.” He told his pokemon, who sniffed at the air itself, already hurt; it wasn’t a small wound either. The sludge bomb was a strong attack, and he didn’t want Cyclizar to take another.

”Darn, I ain’t into this jumping tomfoolery, whose out there?”

Jett looked forward as the ground shook; heavy movements and then finally came the cracking; it was a heavy sound and he could see just what causing it. The earth shook; he hadn’t had the time to brace himself; and fell over; but bracing himself to fall on his back so that his Remoraid wasn’t squished beneath him, Scyther was up above in the air.

This was going to be a lot more difficult it seemed, Jett wished he hadn’t thought those damning words. It was not a normal Snorlax, that much he could tell with a glance. He pushed himself off the ground and stood up. ”Alright, I’m sure you want to dance some more Garlette, how about we trim that tree first?” He said with a smile, his pokemon seemed to nod before she headed off.

A double attack with her scythes, hard hitters in a sense, but for a pokemon this thick, and strong it might as well have been a pair of love taps. ”This might not be so simple, focus, and lock on.” He told Remoraid, who did as commanded, though the small fish held in his hands did not seem to look excited for this fight.

”I’m not an expert on pokemon or whatever evolution thing this is, Mega? Ain’t that something you need a trainer for?” So, there was a strong trainer around here throwing their strongest at them.

They would simply just have to win, again.

”Urgh…I’m not one for those kinds of things. Seems like a pain in the butt, doing a challenge? Not for me.” He waved it off, he wasn’t interested in much of that. Maybe he’d fight those that crossed paths for him, but at the same time, he was just as happy to move on.

Seeking out a battle wasn’t something worthwhile, not for him. Jett wasn’t the type of person who got a thrill from that alone, it was in the journey, and maybe the Gym Challenge held such a thing, but that was how one got roped in, into the responsibility he did his best to stay well away from.

”Yeah, I’ll pass. Leave that for the kids. I’ve got my own things I need to concentrate on, the League can count on me for stuff like this, the grown up stuff.” He said with a shrug, that was it, until the moment he grew bored of it and left again, on another journey. He took out his pokeballs, putting Remoraid and Scyther back in their balls.

His steps were slow, his ears peeled, his senses sharp, but it seemed that peace had really won out, even if for a little while.

”You might be a figment of mine if anything, but forget all of that boring complicated stuff kiddo.” He said as he patted the head of his Cyclizar. ”I don’t like pizza, I ain’t gonna eat some stuff that’s from someone else’s brain.” Jett looked over the edge, it was a simple matter. ”Personally I’m more of a burger man.”

And so, the burgers began to rain down as if the heavens opened, it was a strange idea to begin with, but it only got worse and worse with time. ”You have to be kidding me? This cou-” He stopped himself where he was, stopping his words in that moment.

He wouldn’t make it worse.

”Why am I even trying to convince a Kid I’m real. I’m either real or I’m not, you decide which is which. I’m a part of your mind, so whatever, just what are you doing in a dangerous space?”

He had no choice, after a showing like that, neither he nor Remoraid could hold down that surge, maybe it was the music, maybe it was the natural flow, or maybe it was because Remoraid was chomping at the bits to utilize the move it was holding down, a large surge of water, Jett braced himself as Remoraid shot out a torrent of water, thick, fast, and powerful, it was Hydro Pump.

It struck their opponents, an absolute attack in a strange sense, the perfect teamwork of pokemon and trainers who had met only a few moments ago had sent them scattering, the falling droplets of water, the crashing sound waves, the ice that lingered, and the tailwind in the air gave rise to a natural rainbow within the space of this place.

”Hm, I guess that’ll do. How’d we do on support?” Jett said with a smile as he looked at the decrescendo of a fight after all of that, it was to be expected, but; he couldn’t help but notice just how much of a difference there was between him and the trainer that he was paired with.

Naturally enabling he and his pokemon, yet in the same breadth being able to take the lead and provide natural openings for him to help out; this was an expert in working with other people.

Jett could not help himself from laughing, it was a deep one. ”Aye, aye, listen to your mama. Those are some good words to look forward to, I ain’t much of a kid man, so you probably aren’t a figment of mine, and I doubt you thought of an old man on a bike-shaped pokemon, so I’m not.” He said with a shrug, he doubted why a kid would be in this place.

Was it a means to push him towards weakness, would he be able to fight as well if he knew a kid was in the area.

He knew the answer, and the answer was no. ”My name is Jett Roan, I’m just a layabout, no-one special. What’re you doing here? You know people are dying out there.” He tried to sound just a little bit firm, his arms crossed, and yet; the floor he was standing on turned into a pizza, he kicked down ,and watched it all wobble.

Jett looked at the dance of attacks, switching sets; moving positions, changing of center-stage. All of it looped into a performance of elegant violence, He and Garlette were mere stage-hands in this dance, and they would aid as best as they could. Garlette was a vibrant pokemon, she was made for this kind of scene, but he was not, this wasn’t his scene, but that was fine.

He would allow her to enjoy herself, with her kind. ”Alright, don’t let them run, use Pursuit.” He said as she began to dive in, cutting out the route of escape, dark energies flowed from her; but that was just the first line of the box that was made.

”Alright, come out.” He took out his Remoraid, the fish pokemon settling in his hands, shaped as a revolver. ”Lock-On.” He commanded, but he didn’t fire just yet. It was fine, it was simple.

”It’s all you.” He’d support in his own way, the way of a man who sat on the edge of the law.

Jett looked forward to being in this place, but this was something different, that mist was something he didn’t hear anything good about. ”Damn, Bubby; let’s stay well away from it.” He said, and yet, that wasn’t really the case, mist was a strange thing, what you could see was just where it was the thickest.

The man should’ve known that, as a grown man, as an adult, as someone who had finished his run of education, it was a simple truth and yet, he wasn’t aware of it, or rather, he hid away from it, a simple thing really.

”Fuck.” Even saying it, the shapes around him changed, they shifted, it was yellow, red, and…”Pizza?” He said as he rode, the dust cloud kicked up by his Cyclizar kicked up dust even in this strange space, spreading the energy, and yet, he came to a stop at a cliffedge.

This…Wasn’t his dream, he came to a stop, seeing sight of a small girl, and her pokemon. ”Hey hey, you’re the one sending pizza up all around here aren’t you?” And yet he couldn’t catch any of them…

Wait, no, what was a kid doing on a battlefield?

”You’re too kind, aight Garlette, don’t let the other girls down, yeah?” He said with a smirk. His Scythe moved in the air, a Pinsir came to stop her in the air, but the dance, moving alongside the moving winds to cut around her, a dance. That was the only thing that could be called, it was the most important thing.

Garlette’s movements were smooth, avoiding the fury swipes in a series of calm movements, her beating wings allowed her to drift in the air, her scythed’ hands moved upwards, as she did her spin, joining together before she slashed down onto the wings of the enemy Pinsir. She kicked below as she bent her knees, and did a low spin, and then finally slashed up with her final movement, Acrobatics, a dance of rapid attacks further bolstered by the aid in which she received.

”Alright, now support the rest.” He gave a command, it was simple, straight forward, and comfortable. His Scyther had always been a graceful pokemon, but he knew that there were some things she wouldn’t be helpful in, especially with the upcoming rock Pokemon, a Golurk that rolled into the foray.

”It’s up for you now, don’t worry, Garlette won’t let more sneak up on ya. Lead dancers switch between acts if I’m right?”

Jett made sense of the strange space that he was going through; this was a used route; but at the same time; something used was something known. He knew just what he was supposed to do, make sure that this path was safe. To make sure that those who passed through were properly protected, that they wouldn’t be jumped.

But that came with taking his own risks, riding through it; kicking up a cloud of dust. There was a look in his eyes, it was almost distant, the eyes of someone who looked inwards towards his own thoughts and nothing else.

So, he and his Cyclizar kicked up a dust storm, a look into the wilds of this very very strange space.

”It’s only one day…” A bit of work wasn’t too bad, as long as he could leave when he wanted.

Jett had made sure his preference for deliveries was more well known, he wasn’t much of a fighter even with his looks. His appearance was certainly intimidating, his small eyes, the almost semi-permanent scowl on his face, and even the way in which he kicked Cyclizar into gear, Bubby, is buddy from a long time ago; his partner.

The man settled, another cargo mission, tagged onto his back in a large backpack; heavy, almost the type that would crush him under its weight were he smaller, but now; it was just normally heavy.

”Take it easy Bubby, we gotta wait for our partner.” He said as he patted the head of his ride. ”I think we’ll get a good’un today, these league guys are great ones.”

”I betcha I’ll hear the answer from all the ones you run into.” Jett had a simple thought on it, and his words were just as simple. ”I ain’t much of a warring man, but I see it. A lotta the guys I grew up with are rockets, and a lotta them are normal folk.” He said as he walked, the info was important, but at the same time, there it came.

Enemies, he took out his pokeball, going for Scythe before he went for Cyclizar, this was the pokemon he saw himself battling with the most. He could have gone for Remoraid, but he knew better.

”Aight Garlette, hit show them how you move.” His Scyther danced in the air, a triple roll as it soared towards their pokemon, one of which was a direct competitor, Pinsir and Scyther met in a dance.
