TL;DR - Rhydia shows up being carried by Nidoking and has it use EARTH POWER to try and make a big hole for the avalanche.

Carried in the arms of a Nidoking was someone pretending to be human that was more interested in the Sword of Ruin that struck against the unstoppable barrier. [break][break]

Heavy feet pressed down on the dirt of route 120, rushing through what could only be considered a swarm of other trainers, having been directly ordered by those powers that be to subdue the Legendary Pokémon before the league could wrap them in their grasp.[break][break]

Rhydia couldn’t care less about the conflict, personally- or rather, the greater fallout of the conflict wasn’t one she cared about, whereas the moment itself was of the utmost importance. She wouldn’t get another chance like this to study a legendary Pokémon’s constitution and corpse so closely! It’s form was that of legends, the kind only ever spoken of in Galarian Myth! There were few existences even worth such chronicling in the history of all mankind![break][break]

’Oh how I want to see it! What shades of crimson come from such a legend?’ The alien world she calls a brain keeps her true feelings within her own mind, allowing little but that ‘ugly smile’ a certain Kouji Matsubara said she had leak out.[break][break]

News about the dogs and the flakes reached her through the comms as she arrived, yet the Avalanche arrived just as quickly, threatening to crush them all like the durants such beings surely saw them as.[break][break]

A hand reached up and trailed the tough violet exterior of her ferryman, only for it to drop Rhydia down onto her feet and march forward, wordlessly gathering its own power for her coming order. ”Earth Power, open up the ground of our new canvas some.”[break][break]

Heeding her order, the Nidoking quickly smashed a fist into the ground in front of it, sending its will through the earth before attempting to make a space far ahead of itself and its trainer burst into a crevice for the Avalanche to fall deep into.[break][break]

TL;DR - Rhydia shows up being carried by Nidoking and has it use EARTH POWER to try and make a big hole for the avalanche.

Ever since she was a young girl, Rhydia has dreamed of this moment- no, the woman known as ‘Rhydia’ hasn’t, but the girl who grew into that woman had.[break][break]

Now thanks to the rapid technological developments of both Team Rocket and the Mossdeep Space Center, the civilians and criminals of the Hoenn region have gained access to the world beyond the sky previously deemed unimaginable.[break][break]

The spectacle of it all is enough to drive her younger self to tears, yet the person currently in control, the Rocket Grunt named ‘Rhydia Ver’ does nothing but sit by a windowsill with one leg up and bent, silently sketching away her own rendition of the planet’s surface.[break][break]

This wasn’t a pleasure trip, it was business. They have things to collect on the surface of Luna, and she desires nothing more than to see it all. She’s a notable extra in this piece, but the center of the work makes himself easy to spot.[break][break]

Eyes with as much life as a black pit from which nothing crawled out of shift from the page to a single young man as Rhydia’s lips turned upwards into a smile that didn’t reach her eyes.[break][break]

”Kouji, was it? Have you ever been to the Moon before?” She asks a simple question, speaking his name without asking him for it. The rumors surrounding him were enough for her to learn that much, after all.

It starts with a simple phone call back home, ringing the cell phone of the only part of 'home' that was left. She settles into her seat more comfortably, ignoring the subtle crunch of the dilapidated couch beneath her. It's an oddly placed sofa when you really examine it, but it isn't really her place to decide what is and isn't a good place to get rid of something.[break][break]

Resting comfortably in her lap is a specter full of nothing but hatred for her, one that still follows her around like a good pet, as it has yet to find the right opportunity to end her life. The soft, ethereal white fur of its neck and tail provide pillowlike support for her notepad, allowing for her hand to freely sketch away the art before her.[break][break]

She never could've imagined that the wings of Taillow could spread so magnificently. All it took was just forcing them to the earth to be 'examined' better. "Ah... the way those navy feathers spread all that crimson, only to beautifully take in the imprint of the feather pattern pressed into it~ It's beautiful, Zorua~"[break][break]

It's impossible for her to contain her love for nature's splendor, causing the trickster wraith within her lap to begin to stir, irritated that its nap has already come to an end.[break][break]

Just then, the phone clicks.[break][break]

"Ah, Hello?"

”So you found you were a few Miltank short, and then your son came crying about an alien, hmm…? That does sound like what we heard…” A woman recounted the tale of a rancher’s story in the back of a dilapidated barn, holding a clipboard, rather than the art book she typically brought around with her.[break][break]

Beheeyem, a species native to Unova- to her home- has been noted as a bit of a menace in the foreign lands of Hoeen, terrorizing native farmers by abducting their precious Miltank, Tauros, Mareep, etc.. Unlike the lands from which she came, she supposed the natives hadn’t committed to loading up and dealing with the invaders by force yet.[break][break]

Rhydia’s gaze shifts up from her clipboard to the shaking man who gave them the final info they asked for, taking in the fearful look on his face with eyes devoid of sympathy.[break][break]

Truthfully, she doesn’t really care what happens to this farm, never has, and never will. The only reason she’s even here is to capture the visage of the invader in the midst of the act, and rip them out of the sky midway. That alone would be worth the trip.[break][break]

Of course… the man’s terrified expression is just as pleasing, in its own way. A man terrified of the unknown, of invaders from the stars is a wonderful aesthetic of its own, one she just desperately wanted to preserve for a second longer…[break][break]

”It’ll be fine… we’ll handle it, honey.” She reaches out to cup his cheek, dragging gloved fingers across his face for just a moment before giving him a light push away. ”Now run on, soft ears, sunset is coming, and I want to discuss the night with my friend here, see?”[break][break]

She finally gestures to the woman beside her, ending her A-B confirmation by adding a third, one who stood out even more than she did, arguably.[break][break]

”Sorry to make you wait, Alvara.”

The canvas revealed a recreation of the lakeside, drawn from the exact angle in which the artist sat.[break][break]

The grassy fields gave way to the waters with a fading green, letting it seem as if the land and sea were simply one and the same, fading into one another in perfect harmony. The water’s surface was decorated with numerous fauna, but the most important of them were two Tentacool poking their heads out from the center in unison, surveying the area of the waters they called home.[break][break]

Off in the distant edge of the picture was a child playing with a trio of Flabebe, dancing happily by the waterside alongside the fairy pokémon.[break][break]

Finally- though it would take a bit of a discerning eye to spot- the ends of a balloon could be seen high in the sky above the trees, floating right over the child from afar.[break][break]

It was only after making that final observation that the woman would shift her gaze from her work, settling two eyes just as cold as winter itself on the Gardevoir and its trainer.[break][break]

”Hm? Hello there… curious?” Her voice almost carried warmth, but there was a strange detachment to it, as if her real focus was elsewhere.[break][break]

The pokémon that almost assuredly was something white and red mere moments ago now floated absently behind her in the form of a Sigilyph, as Zorua took up an Illusion to conceal itself at the first sign of another living being.

By the waterside there is near absolute silence and stillness, as little but nature’s own melodies fill the ears of any travelers. It’s peaceful- serene even, a picturesque scenery that Rhydia can’t help but stop her travels and sit down to draw. It’s less of a desire and more of a compulsion, a drive she considers fundamental to her existence.[break][break]

There’s no reason she should have hands if she isn’t going to create art, in her mind. She was sure all the other dedicated artists could agree with such simple logic.[break][break]

The shade of the treeline the artist rests under provides her with adequate protection from the sun’s rays, but not even the dark can hide the way her hair stands out compared to the lush green and clear blue waters of the lake she rests beside, sketching away freely.[break][break]

Curled up behind her is an odd looking Zorua. It’s not asleep, far from it. The spectral trickster is just sitting, watching her, wondering if she’ll turn this place into the same kind of artwork that created it.[break][break]

It knew she was just that kind of malevolent person, after all…

What appears first to the researcher is not a person, but a Pokémon. It approaches casually from behind her clad in an illusion of humanity, wearing the skin of its trainer like a mystical cloak meant to deceive. It naturally resents the woman it approaches, but does not act on that resentment, as it was ordered not to.[break][break]

After all, it cannot create a likeness of that human that terrifies it more than the one it already wears.[break][break]

Looking to get back at her some just for being made to do this, it goes to try and imitate her voice, preparing to call out to the woman its trainer came to meet, just to screw up their plan. As it goes to speak, a hand falls onto its shoulder, the same hand it had already imitated perfectly. "Come now, you know better than that." Is all she says to announce herself, all while holding a hand on her own shoulder. "Don't take my form so easily, that hurts you know? What do you think others will say?" A soft, airy tone coats the words that leave her lips as she cups her own cheek from behind, growing closer and closer until the grudges that make up the illusion disperse.[break][break]

All that's left for Xenon to meet is a single woman with purple hair, as well as a bizarre Zorua trying its hardest to remove itself from the situation.[break][break]

"Xenon, correct?" She turns those dead eyes away from her own Pokémon and sets them on her fellow Rocket. "Rhydia Ver, thank you for accepting my offer to meet..."
