The person who helped Ryan talked about hos disdain to paparazzi and Ryan agreed Paparazzi is only out to collect gossip and bring someone entirely down! It's... so unethical and gives reporters a bad name thinking there is no difference between the two, but that's not true! Reporters are out there trying to reveal the truth and report on it! Paparazzi have no shame in covering up the truth to make a "good" story! A moment of silence followed and Ryan started to awkwardly scratch the back of his head noticing he went on kind of a rant. W-well that whole thing about reporters is just what my mom always told me... The thing about the paparazzi is just my own experience with them haha... Ryan laughed awkwardly.

The man introduced himself as Josh Devlin the gym leader of Mauville city and despite Ryan knowing who he was he was still partially starstruck since he only had just arrived and already met a gym leader. \it's a honor to meet you Josh! Josh asked if Ryan was here for the big race and he wasn't sure how to answer. I mean kinda yeah? Ryan started to get awkward again. I only learned about this race five minutes ago and I thought it might be a fun thing to report on for my readers in Sinnoh! He finished with another awkward laugh.

The man kept laughing in Ryan's face he was sure the older reporter was going to pop his jaw for a second, meanwhile Ryan couldn't really laugh about the matter he felt deeply insulted telling him he was "playing" reporter. Before Ryan could even say anything, a man on a shiny Pyroar interrupted their argument by letting his Pokémon scream out loud. Ah mister Josh, no worries I was just telling this kid to get lost since being this clo- The man was abruptly stopped by the racer en told to go away. But mister Josh this is- The man met gaze the gaze of the Pokémon, he swallod and slowly backed away. O-of course mister Josh I wish you a great race! The man didn't knew how fast he had to go back the way he came in. Despite Ryan not showing it, internally he was grinning ear to ear because of how the man got humbled very fast.

The man on the Pokémon asked if Ryan was okay. Yes I am alright! Thank you for your help sir! It might've gotten turned pretty ugly if you didn't show up! He then turned his attention to Pyroar. And I need to thank you as well! Ryan gave the Pyroar a warm smile. Allow me to introduce myself! My name is Ryan Clark! I just arrived in Hoenn today, I'm a freelance reporter from Jubilife City in the Sinnoh Region! A pleasure to meet you!

The woman didn't decline his offer for a drink. I'm glad to hear! Please order anything you like! The woman introduced herself as Elise Calcifet a ambassador from Galar. Ohhh so you're from the Galar region! I've heard some about the region but never met anyone who is from there! Ryan thought for himself he actually didn't meet a lot of people from different regions, it only started when he went to Hoenn where he met people from different regions. He actually felt a bit bad for calling himself a reporter when he wasn't even that involved in other regions. Ryan made a sad face without himself noticing but that face quickly faded when Elise introduced her Pokémon. It's a pleasure to meet you sir Chamomile! Ryan returned the hat tipping motion even though he wasn't wearing one. Polteageist eh? That must be a Pokémon from Galar! I wonder what more Pokémon could be from there! Ryan thought to himself.

In that moment a idea occurred in Ryan. Oh miss Elise! Please sit down! Ryan motioned a hand towards the table he was sitting at. As Ryan sat down he cleared this throat almost nervous to speak. M-miss Elise! If you'd allow me! I-I'd very much like to interview you! Ryan didn't knew why he was so nervous to ask someone to be interviewed at this point he had already done a couple of interviews. A-as I said earlier, I am a freelance reporter who writes a blog called Poké Channel 9! I-I w-write many kinds of blogs and even done a few interviews and I-I thought it'd be interesting for my readers to learn some things regarding Galar and the kind of work you do for Galarians who call Hoenn there home! Ryan hoped he didn't overwhelm Elise by his talking.

In sheer panic Ryan held out his hand and closed his eyes, bracing himself what would happen to him. He saw his life flash before his eyes and thinking about the headlines this would make "Man from Sinnoh got his life cut short by a pair of Zigzagoon" it was maybe a bit dramatic but it just happens when situations like this occur. What felt like ages of waiting Ryan soon noticed nothing was happening, he was in such a panic he didn't even hear the command issued to the Absol.

Slowly but surely Ryan opened his eyes and noticed the Absol that startled him earlier was standing in front him almost seeming to be protecting him. He heard a male voice behind him and when he turned around a hand was reaching out to him Oh yes I am alright! Ryan gut up with a little bit of trouble. Ow! Seems I twisted my ankle a bit when I tumbled... Ryan grabbed his ankle trying to make it "better" but he knew it wouldn't be that easy. Seems my trip to the weather institute is cut short... Ryan looked a bit sad. Oh where are my manners! My name is Ryan Clark I'm a freelance reporter who recently moved here from the Sinnoh region! And what is your name if I may ask? Ryan had a smile on his face and then turned towards the Absol. My apologies for being startled earlier I was a bit surprised thats all, thank you for your help Absol!

In a panic Ryan grabbed as many papers as he could he even had to crawl underneath someone else's table to grab a couple. I am so sorry! After a quick apology he quickly crawled on the floor to look for more papers when suddenly he was met with a set of legs in front of him. He looked up and noticed the legs belonged to a woman with dark magenta hair, she offered her help in a accent he had never heard before. Oh thank you miss but that won't be necessary I almost have everything! As Ryan tried to get back on his feet the papers slipped out of his hand again. Oh crap not again! As quick as he was back on his feet he went back on his knees to collect the pages.

When he finally got them all he noticed the woman also collected a few for him. Hehe seems I really needed the help after all. Thank you miss! He collected the pages of the woman and placed them next to his laptop. Please allow me to buy you a drink! He was not going to take a no for a answer. My name is Ryan! Ryan Clark I am a freelance reporter and I recently moved to Hoenn from the Sinnoh region! May I ask your name, miss? After he had asked her name he noticed a unfamiliar Pokémon behind her. Oh hello there! And who might you be? Ryan looked at the Pokémon with a warm smile.

As Ryan walked into the building he was met with a interior that looks like a racing track. Is this what a Pokémon Gym looks like in Hoenn? Ryan was a bit surprised though he does report on Pokémon battles from time to time he can count the times he entered a gym on one hand he was always tempted to do this huge report on the Sinnoh League by participating in it but he never got around it since he isn't that comfortable with his battling skills yet, maybe that will change now he is Hoenn. Excuse me miss, the sign on the building said this is the Mauville city Gym but it is actually a race track? One of the Gym staff looked a bit puzzled but figured he probably wasn't from Hoenn. Yes that is right! It looks like a race track because that is what the Gym leader is all about! Are you here to challenge the Gym? Ryan panicked slightly O-Oh n-no no at all! Just my curiosity!
The woman took a moment to inspect Ryan and noticed a microphone with his logo on it. Ohhh you must be a reporter! If you're looking for Josh, our Gym leader you can find him on the Multiplex course where today's race is being held! You might hurry up a huge group of reporters just stormed inside the building probably getting a interview with him. I-I see, thank you miss! After quickly thanking the Gym staffer Ryan made his way to the track the race was being held on.

After a few minutes Ryan managed to find the course the race was being held at and the huge group of reporters stormed off towards Josh to get a exclusive interview from the Gym Leader. Quickly he made his way to the group as well and could hear a barrage of questions aimed at the racer. As he was almost at the group he once again got shoved aside and tripped on the floor. Hey wat- Oh it's the kid from outside again. Ryan remembered the voice it was the same man who shoved him earlier. Ryan got back up on his feet and dusted himself off. If you want to challenge the leader you have to wait kid... But judging by that mic I don't think that's what you're here for... The man had noticed Ryan's mic and the logo that's on it. Poké Channel 9? Hahaha The man started laughing at Ryan. Listen kid go play reporter somewhere else and let us grown ups do the REAL reporting! The man was mocking Ryan. First of all! I am freelance reporter and not playing pretend! Second of all I am not a kid! Ryan was getting angrier by the second but he didn't want the other reporter to notice. Listen kid I don't have time for your comedy routine, now scram! Ryan was almost at a boiling point he wanted to sent out his Infernape to hit him with a flamethrower but his better judgement denied that action.

Today was quite moody day in Mauville city it was cloudy with some rain Ryan took a small sip of his coffee and opened his laptop. Ryan was sitting a small cozy café he had walked pass by a couple of times now, he didn't really want to spent his entire day in his apartment all day starring aimlessly to the ceiling while laying on his couch. He was considering inviting his landlady for dinner she lives alone in a apartment underneath his but then he remembered she was out of the city for a week going to a spa near mt. Chimney. So he decided to finally go to the café where he was surrounded by people, it wasn't really busy in the café despite it being lunch people probably want to deal with the weather.

After opening his laptop he grabbed a pair of computer glasses he wears when working writing articles behind a screen can be taxing for the eyes so his mom got them for him. His mom works for Jubilife TV as a reporter while his dad is a newscaster for the channel, reporting is in his blood. Speaking of his mom he was about to call her in a video call app on his laptop he promised her to ring in at least once a week to check up on him. He opened the app and not a second later he received a call notification from his mom, he quickly connected his earbuds to the laptop and quickly accepted the call before the notifaction would disappear.

Hi honey! I'm so glad to see you! How are you doing? The first thing that greeted him when his mom appeared was her warm smile. I'm also glad to see you as well mom! I'm doing good! You know you're really impatient I had barely opened the app and you started a call didn't even had my earbuds connected. His mom giggled. You know how impatient us reporters are! Always hunting for the next scoop! Speaking of which I noticed you've been quite busy since you arrived! His mom sounded really proud. Yeah I have! For the next thirty minutes they talked how things were in Hoenn as well back home in Sinnoh. By the way honey before we end the call... You know you didn't really had to make the journey to Hoenn right? Your dad and I could've gotten you a job here at Jubilife TV... His mom's voice sounded a bit sad. I know mom... I's just... Ugh how do I say this? I just don't want to be seen as the kid that got his position because of his parents... I want to make a name of myself on my own! Without the help of his parents... Ryan did his best not to come of as angry. I know that sweety... And your dad and I are really proud of you! But don't hesitate to call up on your parents if you need help! Anyway I'm logging off for now. It was nice talking to you again! Later honey! The both of them exchanged goodbyes and ended the call.

Ryan sighed a bit and took a final sip from his coffee that had almost gone cold. He reached for his bag to grab some notes for his latest article but as his hand left his back he lost his grip and paper spread everywhere around the café. Ah crap! I'm so sorry! He made a small apology to the staff and quickly started to collect the notes that had spread across the floor.

It was a nice a beautiful day outside and the sun would make sure you would notice since it was incredibly warm outside, Ryan started to wonder if this type of heat is normal for Hoenn. Pfft it's so warm today, I know Hoenn is kind of a tropical region but is this weather eally normal? Looking around the city it seems like not of people are bothered by the weather. Hmmm maybe it is because I'm not used to this type of weather Sinnoh is kind of a colder region... Oh that might be a great idea! I could write a article about weather abnormalities! No... I can't do that I'm not a meteorologist... But maybe if I can get a one to have a interview with... Yeah that could work! I believe I remember reading something about a lab in Hoenn who does investigate the weather! Ryan grabbed his Rotophone and started to search the web. Let's see... Oh here it is! It didn't take long until Ryan found a website for the weather institute. It says here they are located on Route 119... Opening his map app he noticed Route 119 isn't that far off from Mauville city. I could make it before the evening if I leave this instant! Quickly Ryan ran back to the small apartment he was able to rent for a fairly low rent from a kind old lady who had took a liking to Ryan after he helped her out a few times. As swift as he entered his apartment he also left after grabbing his bag that contained his notebook for notes for voice recordings he just uses his Rotophone. He quickly checked if his Poké balls continaing his Pokémon where in there on his way exiting the city

Leaving the city Ryan made his way to Route 119 but first had to go through Route 118 but Ryan started to wonder if he could even make it far. Jeez... This heat surely isn't being nice. Barely left the city he already started to sweat and he already was wearing the shortest outfit he took a long wearing a plain white t-shirt along with green shorts and a pair of green low sneakers and low white socks to complete the look. Luckily I brought enough water... I hope... But I am close to the river maybe I could cooldown near it when it gets too much.

After a short while Ryan could hear noise coming from some nearby grass. when he checked he noticed a pair of Zigzagoon where fighting. Now, now come now little one's no need to fight! Here might have some berries with me! As the Pokémon to turn around the pair met Ryan's gaze and they didn't seem that fond of him as they started to growl. H-h-hey! No need to get hostile to me now... Slowly Ryan started to walk backwards with the wild Pokémon coming closer to Ryan. Step by step Ryan went to the opposite side of the road where he would eventual would trip over a rock, he wasn't able to hold his balance and fell backwards into the tall grass making a small roll through it. On the other side of the tall grass he would fall flat on his back. Owwww... That really hurts... Huh? AAAAHHH!! When he looked above him he met the gaze of a Absol. Started by the dark-type Pokémon he sat straight up and shuffled himself away from the Absol but behind him the Zigzagoon were ready to attack.
