The guy was so cheerful. It was also somewhat...contagious. The blonde could feel his own mood lightening up. At the explanation, the blonde nodded. "Blaze Breed specifically. There's three different kinds." He held up an arm with three fingers up to emphasize his point. He talked a lot with his movements in addition to his mouth sometimes. Okay, he let his actions do most of the talking in the first place. Soon, the battle was afoot. The Pikachu on Ollie's shoulder jumped in, and as soon as the announcer declared it, uncleashed a hard to dodge Discharge. So Raju didn't have Tauros dodge it. "Raging Bull." Horns glowing red and bursting into flames, the fierce looking Pokemon charged head on against the electricity. Raju could only hope that his bull was strong enough to power through and hit the Pikachu...but it was also a cute little guy. And cute little guys seem to have a major punch.

The man complimented his Tauros. "BB can be a bit on the wild side. Still, cute little guys are not to be underestimated. Close Combat!"  Big Bert obliged, closing in once more for a series of rapid strikes. However, an Earth Power sent the Paldean Tauros into the air, landing really hard on the ground. Raju flinched. That was...super effective to say the least. Appearances can be decieving, after all. Hence why he didn't underestimate cute little guys. Getting up, the bull definitely looked worse for wear. He wouldn't be able to continue this for long. Charging headlong, he still tried for the Close Combat. Knowing that the Shaymin had that kind of move though...Raju half-wondered if maybe he should call it in.  He wasn't a coward, but it also wouldn't take much for the bull to be taken down at this point.

This strange lady took his offer and sat down next to him. Then started to explain a little about the suit. "How does it know what two Pokemon you're closest to?" Unless you actually say something, he found it hard that such a suit can actually tell, let alone morph its appearance by itself. It was a man made thing, after all. Then she asked a...wierd question. Furrowing his brows, he thought on it. It took a little bit before his eyes betrayed recognition. "People bestowed with powers from legendary Pokemon. I've heard and found rumors, but nothing to confirm or deny their existance." At least not officially.

Some commotion attracted his attention. Typhon was in the middle of a fight with a Greninja. Those were fast Pokemon. And actually could be more useful than just for the gym. Taking out a Pokeball, he just waited. After a Hurricane that sent the ninja flying into a nearby tree, he threw the pokeball. That was a good partner for Samurai...that could be a fun combination in a double battle. Looking back at the lady, he tried to keep in mind of what she was saying...

Noel responded that he never been to Paldea, having been born and raised here in Hoenn. Huh...interesting that the phenominon could be used here too. "It's nice. Do need to be careful about Wattrel and Kilowattrel taking your lunch at the beaches near Levincia." Aside from that, the beach was great! Moving on, it was soon time for business. Big Bert didn't dodge or turn swiftly, taking on a few Energy Balls head on. Even though the attack wasn't very effective, he was well aware that the terastil form enhanced attacks of the same type. To the point that even not very effective hits still hurt.

Big Bert tansitioned pretty well though, continuing the charge, but switching it up to the fire type Raging Bull, the flames around him more intense and still going after the little guy. It was a good opening move...but how long can it last?

The day was already drawing to a close...Raju and Big Bert still hadn't had enough. They loved this! He so very much missed this during his hunt for the Orthrus gang, and eagerness to offer his abilities to them. Raju's last opponent gave him a warm smile and a brief introduction. With a nod, the short blond responded, though not really friendly, just respectful way. "Raju Mystic. And this is Big Bert." Throwing a pokeball, he revealed a large, Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros with a red bull ring through his nostrils. The big guy dug at the ground and lowered his horns, ready to start this match and enjoy the fight!

The Bitter Malice didn't just defend against the Spark, but also against a follow up Thunder Wave. With the intention clear, Raju risked Samurai's ranged attack. "Samurai, Pin Missile!" Stretching out one of her large claws, she fired off a barrage of barbs at the Sharpedo's back, hopefully striking it down with a very boosted strike. If it didn't, the Liquidation would smack the Ghost-Normal type just after he sent off a Shadow Ball at the Lanturn in a desperate attempt to strike it down as he sunk into the water.

The blonde heard the gasp. Did Josh not pay attention to his mumbling? There was a reason why the guy said he needed more flying and water types. Plus...did it not seem odd that he sent out two Golisepods? Let alone that one of them was named Mage? Or the question of platforms or channels or anything for something a little more suited to land? Mage could swim, and even do so using Shadow Sneak. But that would still leave the baby vulnerable to Lanturn's counter attack. Either way, poor Mage was likely to go down if Samurai wasn't fast enough.

The guy was very polite and nice. But what surprised Raju was the use of a very unusual and smol grassy Pokemon. It was very adorable, and Raju half wondered where the guy got it. Well, either way, he allowed Raju to have the first move. Nodding, he watched a very familiar phenominon. Terastialization. With a raised eyebrow, he had to ask before going into it. "Oh? From Paldea? I lived with my aunt in Levincia till recently." The blond looked at the crystal hat. Grass type Tera type. Well, still easy enough...hopefully. "BB, use Flame Charge!" The bull charged at full speed with lowered horns. They weren't glowing red, but he was still consumed in flames, inceasing his speed some.  Much like with a previous fight, he hoped it would allow Big Bert to at least somewhat keep up with a smaller opponent. He still felt a little bad picking on a little guy, though...

Raju was up for another bout. So far, he'd been having fun with this tournament. Even if there was no real winner or reason for getting the most wins. The five foot six blonde stepped up to the next battlefield. With dark skies, he threw a pokeball, revealing his large, black, Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros. Big Bert had a red bullring in his nostrils. With a bow, Raju introduced himself. "Raju Mystic. And this Tauros is Big Bert. Ready whenever you are." The big bull roared and reared up, slamming back down his hooves on the field. The guy was having a blast at this tournament. So who was he to deny his bull such a fun time? The blonde awaited his opponent to step up and get ready.

Mage may be on the opposite side, but the duo of opponents attacked. Samurai charged forward with a Slash, but missed the jump and slammed the platform into her gut. She still more or less sliced the platform to pieces, but that really hurt her too. Raju flinched at that. Mage had to deal with the two incoming pokemon. "Bitter Malice the Lanturn!" Dark, shadowy energy swirled around the fake Golisipod, and then blasted towards the electrified feesh. That did allow the Sharpedo to clamp down on the top half of the Pokemon...only to go right through it. Clearly an illusion, one that shattered, revealing a smol, Hisuian Zorua. Mage was more for support, and could probably drag this fight out. But there was no way that if Samurai got knocked out, that he would win this round.

Samurai managed to crawl on top fo the platform, wobbling. Turning towards the little guy and the two feesh, she started to walk over there. Stil wobbly and practically acting like she was drunk. She had to snap out of it!

She seemed remorseful, even if she did admit that she didn't look around. That was obvious. But at the same time...her body language showed she was a little insecure about her little trial. That made him feel a little shit. Looking away and rubbing the back of his neck, he notied a Staravia glaring at the Kilowattrel. With a snap of his fingers and pointing at it, he sent Jigawatt over to battle it. The flyer did a single Double Team before Jigawatt unleashed a Discharge to destroy the clones and almost knock out the birb. Throwing a Pokeball, he listened to the lass explain what she was doing. "What's a sygna suit? It clearly allows you to ride on the wing safely...but what's the point of the suit?" It looked like it would be great for exploration of dangerious areas. Moving over to a patch of grass, he sat down cross-legged. Kilowattrel, a future Togekiss, future Staraptor...one more flyer and maybe two or three more water types would do him nicely for the gym. Moving on, he did pat the ground next to him as if to invite her to sit with him. She did apologize...no need to be a jerk anymore.

Stormy skies were still going on. Interesting to him. Still not a drop of rain, thank goodness. The five foot six tall young man walked towards the next battlefield after a quick check up on his Paldean Blaze Breed Tauros. Soon, his opponent showed up. With a nod, he took a pokeball and threw it, revealing his large Paldean Tauros. "I'm Raju, and this is Big Bert." Raju was a man of few words. His Blaze Breed Tauros wasn't just large, he also had a red bull ring in his nostrils. And was digging into the ground, ready to go wild once again. Big Bert was aggressive alright. But he's been showing some restraint. They patiently waited for their oponent to show and introduce themselves. Their first match was fun, and very much a David vs Goliath. What will this one be like?

The Froakie was sent to the air after a single hit. BB was about to hit the little water type again when it used Hydro Pump to soar up and away. Well, that was a good stalling tactic. Actually...that had many applications. "Focus up, watch its fall. When the timings right, Zen Headbutt!" Patience wasn't one of Big Bert's strong suits. Still the black beast circled the battlefield, waiting fo the little frog to fall, like a Sharpedo circling its prey before striking. The fall seemed slow, and it could always change directions in midair. The Froakie was ready for one last exchange, however. Battered as it was...it was still wanting to continue on. Raju could respect that, as could his bull. When it was getting close to the ground, the command came. "NOW!" He hadn't yelled that loud in a while. With psychic energy surrounding his head, Big Bert went in for the hopefully finishing blow.

The hit was true, the steam being palpable. But the little frog soon unleashed a smokescreen, making a follow up attack miss. Clods of dirt was sent up from the strike. He had the advantage, and it was time to press it! The big black beast continued to weave through the smoke, trying to hit the little frog with a Close Combat. It would be up in the air if there was an opening for a disastrous water-type attack. Especially for one as powerful as a Hydro Pump. The only solace was that Big Bert was constantly on the move and Hydro Pump wasn't the most accurate of moves. That may be the only reason he'd win this. He just need to keep pressing the attack!
