moss let momo introduce each of her pokemon in turn with a friendly smile on his face. it sure was nice, meeting someone who seemed just genuinely nice. he wondered why there weren't more people like that. while he preferred grass underfoot and trees overhead, he was no stranger to the towns and cities of hoenn, either -- and there were a lot of people who seemed bothered that moss walked around alongside him. maybe it was because he could be smelly, or roughed up, or talked kind of funny, but he didn't see why that should change anything. [break][break]momo held her azurill in one arm to introduce herself, then, and moss followed suit. he swung buizel under his arm and held him like you would a briefcase or a book, and accepted her handshake. "i'm moss. nice to meet ya! ain't no problem." he would pull away and take a few steps back. "we battlin' right here, then? i'm fine to wherever."

"p-pervert? what?" he just wanted to protect his toes! now he was left behind, and moss stopped following, watching her as she went. he collapsed in the snow, and the biting cold felt like a reflection of his dismal predicament. left behind. abandoned. stranded in a glacial graveyard. he reached his trembling fingers into his pocket and brought the pokeball to his face. "bastard... you're the only one i have left..." a single tear ran dramatically down his cheek and froze before it hit the ground. he released the pangoro.
[break][break]"please, please please bastard, don't leave me--!!" moss practically sobbed and leapt for the freshly summoned panda. his pangoro, bastard, looked down at him with a disgusted expression as moss clung to the fur on his belly. "i'm gonna freeze, bastard, pl-ea-se-!!" the pangoro was not impressed. he put his massive hand across moss' face and began trying to pry him off, but moss clung to him for dear life, begging for mercy.

"bastard!!" the pangoro's fist had practically blown the tree to bits. it was lucky moss had ducked -- his face had been there just a few moments ago. pidgey and spearow fled its branches as the splintered tree creaked and groaned and collapsed. "i told you," moss cried, rushing forward, "you gotta take a bath!" moss threw two quick punches to little effect. the pangoro grinnd, flicking the straw between its teeth to the other side of its mouth, and backhanded his trainer with enough force to send him flying. moss went tumbling through bush and across thorny patches of foliage before tumbling to a stop at the feet of riley and sierra.
[break][break]moss half-coughed-half-wheezed and smiled. "howdy." scraped and bruised, moss dragged himself to his feet and retrieved his straw hat, placing it firmly atop his head. pangoro was visible in the clearing, now, his arms crossed. grinning. smug. he raised his palm and beckoned for him. a blatant TAUNT. moss' expression immediately soured. "why, i oughta... 'scuse me, folks."
[BREAK][break]and moss would roll up his sleeves and throw himself back into it.

it wasn't often that moss wandered into town. guess today was just one such day! compared to some of the others he'd visited, though, petalburg was more his speed. it just seemed more connected to its rural roots -- at least as connected as any town could reasonably be. he was looking for a spot to grab (or steal, more likely) a quick bite to eat when he was suddenly face to face with an azurill. "oh! a battle?" moss grinned. it'd been a long time since they'd fought anything but wild pokemon. moss wasn't a crazy experienced trainer, but he knew there was hardly anything as exciting as a battle. "sure! hold on..." he simultaneously yanked a pokeball off his necklace and retrieved another from his left pocket. he tossed both into the air, sending out both weezer the buizel and tort the grotle. weezer immediately leapt for joy while tort calmly assessed the situation.
[break][break]"these guys could use some experience, too! they don't get to battle much, uh..." moss sort of sweated as he spoke, a strange nervousness overtaking his countenance. "my third usually hogs the fights." the bastard would remain in his ball.
[break][break]but as quickly as that weirdness had came, it went, and moss returned to his usual jovial self. "this here's weezer," he said, lifting his happy buizel, "and that's tort!"

moss had put his faith in the detached looking stranger -- something that, in hindsight, he should have known better than to do. still, it was all he could do not to collapse then and there. "w-wait! no!! you can't leave me! not with... him-!!" the snowman had conserved what little warmth it could. now moss was out in the frigid wilds, unprotected save for his shorts and his thin t-shirt, faced with a choice of dire importance. he plucked pangoro's pokeball from his pocket and stared pensively at it for a moment.
[break][break]could this be a fate worse than death? moss hesitated... and decided to try his luck with the girl again. "wait up! wait up! hehe-- h-hey, i-i might have been too forward back there. dunno what came over me. i'm moss, nice to meet ya!"
[break][break]"do you have a spare pair of socks i could borrow?"

"captivatin', huh?" moss scratched his ear, looking around. he didn't see any meteors falling; seemed a cave like any other to the country bumpkin. "i guess so."
[break][break]but she accepted travelling together, and that was enough to cheer him up immediately. "haha! okay, great! let's get goin' then!" weezer finally rejoined him, albeit from a distance of no few paces. moss took stock of their surroundings as they headed deeper into the cave, noting the pokemon in the distance. "do well to avoid that one," he murmured, watching the hulking druddigon busy himself with something. moss would continue on, eagerly peering around every corner. "man, i don't know what'd make good footage." moss propped himself up, brushing a shoulder. "but rest assured -- i am indeed a capable trainer. hehe."

"w-weezer... please..." his faithful companion was unresponsive. moss tried to move forward to console his partner-in-crime, but the orange-furred lifeguard wasn't having any of it. for every step moss took towards him, weezer took two steps away. moss stood defeated and turned back to sierra as she approached. "i'm fine," moss replied honestly, "but... i think i've somehow made a mistake." he stared listlessly off into the distance. somewhere and somehow, a cool breeze cut between them. moss returned his attention to sierra -- hopefully weezer would forgive him -- and shrugged. "that was a pretty cool catch. why you recordin' it, though? you makin' a tv show?"
[break][break]moss took another look around the cavern. the dangers of the cave was not lost on him, but he was comfortable in his ability to at least defend himself. still, maybe sierra wasn't. tyranitar could only protect her from so much, right? right? disregarding the fact that she was walking around with a veritable tank of a pokemon, moss chose to use that as an excuse to make the most of her company."well, whatever the reason, i'm certainly keen on explorin'. wanna stick together? i'm sure it'll be heaps safer."

as anahel continued down that quiet and snowy path, she would eventually come across a shoddy-looking snowman. and as she passed, that snowman would shift and move and emerging from those lumps of snow was moss, practically blue, in a shirt and shorts and flip-flops as was his norm. teeth chattering, his arms clung close to his sides, he approached anahel quickly. "h-h-hey, you, uh, wouldn't happen to have a-- like, uh-- a fire type? or a jacket? s-socks?" he looked desperate. icicles drooped from his nostrils where his snot had frozen. it wasn't really a pretty sight at all. "i just, i-- i r-really don't wanna consider the only a-alternative..."

"hey, what-?" a weirdo? moss wasn't a weirdo. was he? he was left to grapple with this psychological conundrum as sierra shoved him aside, taking the spotlight with her tyranitar. he didn't notice that a zweilous had appeared until just that moment. "what?!" weren't dragon pokemon, like... rare? and powerful? what did that mean for him? moss scoffed -- he didn't need it anyway. no, he'd find something even better. he hurriedly scanned the horizon for any source of movement, his eyes landing decidedly on... weezer? [break][break]wait, no, weezer was right there. "oh! a buizel!" not exactly what he was looking for, unfortunately. he already had a buizel, and his was a lot cooler. "nah, im good." he reached down to pick up weezer, scoffing. "sorry, mr. buizel. i've already got a buddy, and i ain't replacin' him for no-" and the wild buizel who was apparantly not weezer leapt from his arms and began to claw his face up. "a-agh! aaagh! no!!" he ripped the wild pokemon from his face and threw it to the floor, where the buizel hit the ground on all floor and chirped angrily at him before turning away and scurrying off.
[break][break]moss looked over his shoulder to where the real weezer stood on his hind-legs, his back turned to him. ashamed. disappointed. betrayed. "w-weezer, c'mon... it's... it's not like that..."

moss had never been to meteor falls. he wasn't really sure what to expect there, either. meteors? falling? surely not. he made the treck anyway, on foot as always, a smile plastered firmly on his face. weezer waddled alongside him, occasionally dropping to all fours to catch up when moss wandered too far ahead. it wasn't long before he noticed a familiar face ahead, and his smile only grew wider. "well hey, ms! fancy meetin' you here!" he'd run up to greet her properly, his buizel on his heels. "what'cha doin' in a place like this? don't you got, like... showers to be takin'?"
