“What—did you call me?!”

His field of vision was spinning terribly the longer he remained standing—his balance had been rendered all but shot out the window as he whipped his head around sharply to find the direction where the voice was coming from.

“You—have no right, to—” he stammered, swerving around as he saw something swimming at the edge of his vision blocking where the voice was coming from.

“No right to call me that!” he growled as he attempted to circle around the Blastoise, his hands swinging around wildly in an attempt to grab the other man.

The buzzing noise inside his head intensified the longer the venom coursed through his system—he was seeing red the longer he staggered around.

Should the other notice, for the briefest of seconds the veins around his neck were much darker than normal, before fading into shadow.

• the poison is scrambling his thought processes, yikes
• and he wants Fox’s blood—
• the darkened veins flicker for a moment before disappearing into the shadows again

Because the entire story about it was—borderline fantastical, borderline hysterical.

“I know you’re going to laugh at me when I do share it, but… since you asked, I’ll tell you.”

He was now seriously considering stripping his shirt off right then and there because the heat rising off the environment was starting to bake him.

“There were rumors that Shoal Cave had gotten way colder than usual. And, well… evan fader went there too, so did a couple of other people, but… I went there alone—I left Ro and Alpha at the entrance, I told them to wait for me while I checked out what was deep inside the cavern.”

It wasn’t as glamorous as she thought it would be.

“This has gone on too long!” he grumbled as he hunched down and braced himself as his Mega-evolved Metagross then let out another angry grating noise before this time, clobbering the wall that was regenerating (although at a much slower pace than earlier as compared to previously) with a sudden avalanche of boulders—a Rock Slide attack!

The silver beast groaned under the force of the power, however the size of the crack splintering and spreading across the surface was growing thicker, and deeper, before—

“DUCK!” he had a half-second to yell before the Glastrier quickly threw up another Iron Defense at the very last second, the wall of ice exploded outward, showering everyone present (two humans and seven Pokémon) with varying sizes of shards of ice.

Another exhalation of cold wind came through the opening, equally as frigid before Ro the Metagross grumbled and stood there, waiting for Lars to get up and enter the broken-open cavern entrance.

He then took a sip of his drink.

“I made sure it was dirty,” he continued as he tilted his head in the direction of her drink, “…because you won’t have it any other way.”

Once he set his glass down, he decided to get straight into the thick of it.

Owner: operated by a singular NPC who had the shock of their lives when Lars bought the entire stand for the duration of the Hoenn ☆ Tournament some time ago and decided to keep the business afloat; owned by Laurence Anderson
Location: Slateport Beach
Description: A simple, nondescript stand that trundles around Slateport Beach selling snow cones—and ever since he’d acquired it, legitimate AQUA initiative merch featuring the saltiest Head Ranger alive!

(Just ask the stand owner for the merchandise category, pay for your purchase, and the delivery would be made as soon as possible. Word on the beach is that the ‘nendoroid’ is the most popular piece, because of the accompanying Articuno mini-figurine)
Lore: For the duration of said tournament, there was no other way to spin it—Lars needed a way to keep himself (and the patron deity who shares his headspace) calm throughout the hottest months of the year.

At that time, the Hoenn ☆ Tournament was happening, he happened to chance by this singular stand selling snow cones, and at the time (for an undisclosed sum) he’d bought the entire stand’s stock of snow cones for that day.

The stand owner wasn’t exactly expecting him to seek the stand out for each and every day that the event was running and buy out their entire stock every single day until the end of summer, therefore saving their business (and making said stand well-known in the process).

Due to this, he had struck a deal with the owner of the stand—that he’d purchase the snow cone stand, however the original owner would keep most of the profit—Lars is the main (and only) investor.

At the same time the Glastrier had rushed forward to protect the other Pokémon that were now literally pressing up as close to his cousin as possible, even more icicles formed from the frozen energy that permeated the cave came flying from the opposite direction—and had said frozen equine not used Iron Defense once again those shards may have ended up in places… that they were not supposed to end up.

The icicles bounced off harmlessly against the tough skin of the Glastrier, who held their ground while Lars worked away at hacking away at the frostbite that was starting to spread across the Aggron’s legs—frostbite never really was a good thing in the long run, but good grief…

He had a split-second to roll out of the damned way as the Aggron came crashing forward, throwing all of its power and force into a Z-Move that forced a crack to spread across the ever-regenerating wall of ice that was denying them access to what lay beyond said cavern entrance.

“Damn, Eli, you really pulled that one from out of nowhere!” he exclaimed as the crack widened, spreading across the thickening surface…

“WHY AREN’T YOU LETTING US THROUGH?!” finally came from deep within him, out of sheer frustration as he finally pulled out the Heavy Ball he’d refrained from so much as touching—because they were going to need his own firepower as well thrown into the mix.

Backing away as Ro the Metagross finally appeared, the second monolith let out an angry grating noise, before Lars gave Eli this stare before tapping the ring he wore and the silver beast was surrounded by his own burst of light before growing even bigger in size and—

“Ro, Dragon Hammer! Help her Aggron out!” he roared, not taking this lying down any longer as his own Mega-evolved Metagross charged forward, all of its claws glowing with a terrifying light as the beast crashed against the ever-spreading crack, causing it to spread even more, despite the efforts of the Mirage hiding behind it to thicken the layers—

There was exactly one way he could invite the person he was thinking of to join him.

He’d already placed the order for two drinks—one his own brandy, the other was a dirty martini for his companion this evening.

There was something that was bothering him for the longest time, and he could only share it with the person with whom the dirty martini was meant for. Now it was all a matter of time waiting for her to appear.
