This was it. The stuff of dreams. Zachary didn't think he would be helping out the league this soon-- but even more so, to explore the worlds connect to our own. And all through this mysterious place. The Great Chasm. He heard about it and read about it-- being a place that was a Nexus that could lead to other worlds. His imagination ran wild with the adventure and possibilities he could see there. It was also home of a new power that dwelled there. The origin of Tera crystals. However, this place was not without danger. Any wrong step-- and he could never return to his world. [break][break] The deeper he was in the caverns, despite the foliage and other natural landscapes inside the caves-- the crystals shimmered so much in the distance, it looked like a rainbow of stars in the ceiling above. [break][break]Luckily, he was not alone. He had his trusty companion Dizzy, his Delphox to light and protect him out at all times. He also had another companion. His Kirlia. Kirlia kept them safe, but also could teleport if the need arose. [break][break] Zachary explored the caves, intending to find the nearest outpost. From there, teleporting would go much, much smoother. However as they looked-- Zachary soon found someone. A fellow member of the league. "Um-- Hello there! I'm Zachary. Are you here exploring too?" the young man said giving a kind smile. Kirlia gave an enthused greeting, while Dizzy, however, kept on guard holding the torch for light. [break][break] [break][break]

This hit Zachary like a ton of bricks as he realized Elise was indeed feeling sad. Her tone was proper as usual, in control. But still-- the news was clear. She just lost her mother. Zachary was stunned, unable to utter the words for a moment. Dizzy's own reaction was much similar. Further, he remembered the other pokemon-- the king himself? He was there?! Accompanying the princess. Honestly that made more sense. Dizzy regarded the legendary pokemon with a bow, being courteous to both king and princess. Still there was sorrow in the air here.[break][break] "E-Elise. I'm so sorry..." Zachary expressed. His words still caught in his throat. Both of his parents were still alive, and the idea of living without them was terrifying to him. Even with him traveling and so-- the reality was there that one day he would have to say goodbye to them. But that fear to lose them-- still was a silent bomb in his chest. He bit his lip, trying to think away from that fact-- and realized how Elise could be feeling. [break][break] Zachary wiped a sudden tear from his eye, trying to not let his tears show. Unlike Elise, who was more in control of his emotion, Zachary wasn't. He often wore his heart on his sleeve, for better or worse and struggled to not let it show. "I...." the words died in his throat.[break][break] Dizzy too showed sympathy as he gave a silent prayer with his stick. But still, the issue was Elise now. Her mother was gone but her loved ones still remained and hurt now. The poor fox was just feeling for their friend. "Hmmmmrrmm..." Dizzy said with a soft whimper. [break][break] The fox knelt down next to her, offering his support. He wanted to do or say something, but wasn't sure. how. [break][break]

Mt. Pyre was a place Zachary was coming by frequently. The mysticism of this place, despite it being a Graveyard, lured in so many unnusual Pokemon. Ruins and temples littered the mountainside and played host to the cemetery where the ghosts roamed. Zachary continued to explore there. It was convienent he had Pokemon who could Teleport, making it easier for him to return to these places far quicker than by foot or flying if he had a Pokemon who could carry him. [break][break] With him, naturally-- was his best friend Dizzy the Delphox. The fiery fox continued to keep him company as they marched around the outskirts of the graveyard. "It's nice we can come around here a bit more so easily, isn't it?" Zachary said as he looked to Dizzy. The fox gave a soft nod of acceptance to his words. [break][break] It was then, that Dizzy suddenly sniffed the air-- and caught with of a familiar scent. He sniffed again, trying to find where it was-- and soon saw it, up on the hill. The look of the woman in the violet dress was unmistakable. Dizzy soon gave a defining bark and pointed his stick out to the hill. [break][break] "Huh? Dizzy, what's wrong?" he asked and soon drew his attention to the woman up on the hill."Wait a minute? Isn't that Elise?" Zachary asked, recognizing the woman. Though she could be rather stern at times, Zachary had met her enough that he considered her a friend. With an exchange of looks between them, the two made their way up the hill to reach her. [break][break] They soon approached, seeing her kneeling down beside the graves. As he approached, it became more and more clearer how somber she was. "... Elise? Hey... Are you okay?" Zachary wasn't even sure what to say. He wanted to say hello and ask how she was-- but it was clear she was very upset. He didn't know about her recent events, coming only cause he saw her, and saw a friend sad. Dizzy too sensed her sadness, his ears drooping in sympathy. [break][break]

The battle got real as Aegislash took action. While the shuffling of the boxes and using them to swap places like a magic trick ws clever-- Arron was just as clever too. This was Zachary's first real battle with a competitive trainer. Amusement faded a bit from Zachary's face as he saw the move come-- seeing that the sword used a super strong move-- Sacred Sword to clash with the Mystical Fire. It was an impressive counter-- especially considering a fighting move like that wouldn't really hurt Dizzy as a psychic type. [break][break] However, the incoming slash was a problem as Dizzy couldn't get out of reach even with the boxes.[break][break] "Look out!" Zachary cried-- to which Dizzy braced himself. Dizzy tried to back up-- and the sword slash coming in range. The slash and shine of metal was terrifying as it cut into Dizzy's form, slashing some fur out of there-- and worst of all, trimming the bottom of Dizzy's stick. Dizzy gritted against the pain of the slash, feeling it hit him and hit hard. [break][break] Dizzy's eyes soon became angry slits as his fire burned brighter now. [break][break]BLAZE now activated. Partly due to the damage, partly-- no one messes with a Delphox's divining stick! Dizzy let out a loud growl, his fury showing now as a burning aura. [break][break] "Dizzy-- Flamethrower now!!" No more than a second after the blow and the flare of fury-- Dizzy let out a howl. The howl was answered by a sudden jet of fire from his mouth. The stream of intense fire struck with no more than a few feet away from Agislash-- being a powerful burst if nothing was done. [break][break] As the stream of fire would shoot right at Aegislash-- Zachary smirked as he remembered his strategy. [break][break] "You can run but you can't hide. Especially from one thing," Zachary said as he knew the time had come. "Time." He snapped his fingers. [break][break] Right on cue, balls of psychic energy appeared overhead of the Aegislash. Dizzy's FUTURE SIGHT finally kicked in. While the Flamethrower was blowing against the ghostly sword-- the attack was overhead and came flying down like meteors toward it. [break][break] THe eruption of the psyconic barrage and flamethrower was going to be hard to defend, at least from two different directions! [break][break] Of course, Zachary didn't know about King's Shield just yet. [break][break]

Traveling along the forest path-- Zachary and Dizzy, his trusty Delphox companion, made their way through the winding wilds and reached their next destination. After a long time in the area of the wilds finding new Pokemon, he had enough and decided to retire to the cities to recover. However, he wasn't prepared for the spectacle he had to greet him. [break][break] Climbing the hill, they soon overlooked the 'city' before them. It was like a scene from a fantasy story book! Buildings were cropped and overrun by a wild amount of trees and foliage. Brick houses and vines grew with flowers and wild trees, blending the town with the greenery. It was unlike Slateport city of all things. This city had choose to adapt and live with the forest. How they were able to build their buildings, even tree houses, and still function as a city defyed Zachary's thoughts as he looked it all over. People continued to run about their business. All the while, pokemon also ran free and wild, jumping around the bows of the trees and having fun, even mingling with the people below. [break][break] "Wow... I didn't think Fortree City would be like this..." Zachary said to Dizzy. The fox gave out a soft howl like a whistle, impressed. [break][break] It was as if the city was one big park-- with not even clear roads or paths to follow. As the two began to make their way down the hill and in search of the Pokemon center, Zachary hoped to find someone who could tell him more about this city. It would be interesting if he were to settle 'roots' here in this city of trees. THis place was really making him feel at home, and ignited his imagination. [break][break]

This was a challenge. Zachary used Dizzy to change the terrain, but this pokemon was quickly adapting to it to his trainer's instructions. This was a natural risk to this strategy. Both allies and enemies could use the terrain to their advantage if they were clever enough. Of course, this was what made it more exciting. "Glad to see you like the funhouse. Just you wait," Zachary said confidently, finding the foe's strategy interesting. He was now trying to move the blocks using Iron Head to make them crash or corner Dizzy. But Zachary's Delphox was not called 'wily' for nothing. [break][break] "Dizzy-- Psychic! Shuffle the boxes!" Zachary commanded. [break][break] Being friends for so long, best friends-- Dizzy and Zachary thought alike. To the point Zachary hoped, Dizzy knew what he was thinking. Either by coincidence or just thinking alike, Dizzy knew what to do as his eyes glowed again. The odd psychic glow that would of shown on Aegislash-- instead took hold on the blocks surrounding the area. Under Dizzy's psychic control, he began to move the blocks around in swishing, random patterns-- the ones that Aegislash had not head-butted. [break][break] The blocks that Aegislash had sent flying would crash into others, while others in the air and elsewhere, began to move left and right--blurring the image of dizzy as he stood there-- [break][break] And Dizzy vanished from view under their shuffle, like a marble in a game of 'cups'. [break][break] The shuffling and moving of the boxes now would confuse most-- now having to find Dizzy, along with the constant moving of the boxes under his control. [break][break] After a few seconds, Dizzy appeared on the right side (Aegislash's left) side of the arena, slidding out from behind one of the shifting boxes. [break][break] "Now-- Mystical Fire!!" Zachary shouted. [break][break] The tip of Dizzy's twig burned with multi-colored fire. He quickly drew a circle of fire with it, which hovered in the air. With a howl from the fox, he pointed his stick-- and a swirl of fire like a twister shot out towards Aegislash. As it snaked towards Aegislash, it would risk dealing big damage and lowering its capabilities if it hit! . [break][break] As they battled, more people took an interest in the creative battle. The unique creation and manipulation of the terrain-based move caught many eyes, as did the challenging fight between the two Pokemon. All the while, Zachary held a confident smile on his face, feeling excited by what might happen next. [break][break]

Happy's well placed Dazzling Gleam did it in as Zachary took action and took out an empty pokeball. "Come to me-- Dragapult!" he cried and threw the Pokeball. The ball spun forward and slapped Dragapult on the head. The ghost dragon suddenly vanished into light and was sucked into the ball. The ball soon wabbled and rolled back-- leading to Zachary. After a few moments, the ball calmed down and Dragapult was contained inside. A sigh of relief came from Zachary-- as did Happy and the others around. Shelgon let out a grunt of satisfaction. However, as Zachary picked up Dragapult's pokeball, the cracked structure of the stalagtite cracked. The impact caused part of the cave to crack more and soon, rocks began to fall. A cave in-- risking to hit Zachary. Happy saw the stones but was too slow, unable to use Reflect in time. It was going to hit Zachary. [break][break] "Aaaaabrraaaa...." Abra purred, seeing the danger and held on tight to Zachary as he looked up. Just before the rocks would fall, Abra teleported and took Zachary with him. The rocks soon clattered on the ground, making Happy and Shelgon flinch at the accident, and the fact Zachary had vanished. [break][break] By this time, both Dizzy and Ever could see the cave in and Zachary's vanishing at Abra's efforts. It seemed the little pokemon regained some energy and used it to save Zachary. [break][break] Before the question 'where did they go' could enter their minds-- another flash of light appeared. This time, Zachary and Abra were several feet away, safe from the impacting rocks. "WHoh--- Abra, thank you! That was--" Zachary paused as suddenly he felt the tug of gravity. Abra too realized he errored--[break][break]-- as they now hovered over one of the many falls and waterways that ran through the cave. "CLOOOOOOSE!!" Zachary shouted as he fell with Abra donw the falls to the water. [break][break] As he screamed-- another presence came. As if from the falls below, a spiraling ring of water shot out from the bottom of the pool, and up towards Zachary. The splash of jetting water broke their fall as they were caught and lowered down with the watery cushon. Both Pokemon Abra and Zachary were confused as the water broke their fall-- allowing them to fall into the pool with little more than a small few feet splash. [break][break] At least there wasn't another Gyrados there again. [break][break] As Zachary broke the surface for air with Abra on his back-- The other Pokemon could see them back from the cliffside as Dizzy and Ever reached where Happy and Shellgon were. It was then they saw what save them. The water rose up and a soft squeak emerged. The water parted and out came the elegant face of a white and blue serpent creature. Zachary's eyes widened to see what he saw. A beautiful, shimmering aquatic serpent with beautiful eyes and prismatic scales. The very water made it sparkle as he observed her. The mysterious Milotic had intervined, using Aqua Ring to save them. Both Zachary and Abra were amazed by the beautiful serpent as it regarded them. [break][break] "Wow.... um, thank you. " Zachary said, amazed. The Milotic cocked her head as she sniffed Zachary, sensing his good and friendly nature. She gave a happy squeal as she nuzzled him with the front of her head, feeling squishy and soft to the touch. Zachary struggled to tread the water but smiled at the same and hold on to Abra on his back. "Okay okay! Haha.. that tickles. " he laughed, struggling to swim back to shore. [break][break] Zachary soon reached back there and looked back up the cliff-- soon seeing Happy-- and most now, Dizzy looking down and waving his flaming stick at Zachary. "Bruk bruk! Aroo!" Dizzy barked happily, showing his relief Zachary was safe. [break][break] "Dizzy! I'm Glad you're okay too! Thank you..." he waved back. [break][break] All the while, Abra looked on quietly as he stayed attached to Zachary's back. All the while the little psychic pokemon held on to the cards he stole. The creature was now thinking deeply, contemplating something important... [break][break] The two were able to now reconvine-- along with the new company of Zachary's Shelgon and new Milotic friend. As they now were together-- Zachary finally met the pinked hair stranger who was with Dizzy. He took a moment, acknowledging he and Dizzy were together. "Um, hi there. Sorry, who are you? Did Dizzy find you?" Zachary asked, curious to who this person was. "I'm Zachary. Thank you for keeping my Delphox safe." [break][break]

"Whrrrrroooooww!" Dizzy hollared as the fox tried to ride the bigger dog-- and after a few seconds fell head over heels. Dizzy landed on his back, looking blankly up at the sky till the Houndoom walked up to him. The dog gave a few friendly licks to the fox's cheek, urging him to get up. [break][break] Realizing what the ranger meant, Zachary nodded and saw as she produced two more Pokemon-- bringing out BOTH beautiful Ninetails of different types. The fire and ice ones. Zachary's eyes lit up with amazement. "Oh WOW! You got two Ninetails and of their different types. You're so lucky! " Zachary said as he approached them, giddy. Clearly he had a love for foxes like his Delphox. They were so elegant and beautiful. "Can I pet them please?" he asked, looking at the two foxes side by side. [break][break]

Haunter was now in a state of bewilderment. The last thing he expected was to be hit with his own dark attack. He shook his head, seeing the cheerful clown prancing around, the traces of Dark Pulse still around its little hands. No longer amused, Haunter soon vanished-- attempting to do another sneak attack. [break][break] As he faded from view, Happy and Zachary looked around, along with the other Pokemon Kirlia and Wynaut. Zachary knew that ghost was not done, and not willing to back down. So it was still nearby-- waiting for a sneak attack. [break][break] "Happy, stay sharp. Let's wait for the right opportunity!" [break][break] Looking back to Zachary , Happy nodded and ,ept calm. Happy closed his eyes, and focused. Like Zachary, they were waiting for the right moment, hoping to catch Haunter the moment he tried to materalize. He was there-- they could sense it. It was sneaking in the dark, determine to scare them senseless and land a big wet lick on them. However, Happy was an enigma. He was unexpectedly patient, and Zachary respected that. Adaptable. Happy waited and so did Zachary, as if they were in touch with one another. [break][break] The pause was almost agonizing-- till a shiver of cold brushed through the air. Haunter's form began to appear from right of Happy, leaning closer to attack.[break][break] At the same time, both their eyes snapped open--"Now!" Zachary shouted, "DAZZLING GLEAM!!" [break][break] Happy let out a hum as he began to glow. Prismatic light shined around him, illuminating the darkness. Haunter was caught off guard as he was almost right next to the Mime Jr-- and now the light beame blinding to him. The light intensified-- showing clearly for Josh further down the path. He would be able to see Happy nail Haunter with the brilliant light. [break][break] Hurt and dazed by Dazzling Gleam was not going anywhere as he hovered, his eyes shut and shaking his head. This was his chance. Zachary quickly took out a Pokeball and got ready. "GACHA! You're MINE, HAUNTER!" Zachary shouted and threw the pokeball. The throw became a swift curve as he spun it-- giving it a powerful zing. It shot forward, and smacked Haunter right between the eyes with a satisfying clank. [break][break] Haunter soon converted into light and was sucked right into the pokeball. As he vanished, it shut tight and started to wobble on the ground. The air was tense as the ball wobbled for a few seconds, Haunter clearly not an easy pokemon to contain. However, after what felt like a minute-- the ball clicked and stopped wobbling. [break][break] While most trainers would be thrilled to catch a new Pokemon, Zachary just sighed and fell to his knees--exhausted. "I don't know how the Ghostbusters do it!" he commented sarcastically. He was soon met by his Mime Jr as he came running over and gave Zachary an enthusiastic hug with his tiny arms. So to did Kirlia and Wynaut as they hopped and cheered for Zachary-- for freeing the forest of Haunter's mischief. [break][break] "Okay-okay! Calm down! Thank you!" Zachary laughed, but was interrupted when he saw Josh arrive. "Hey! You two okay? Sorry about all that... well near forest fire. " he said , embarassed by Dizzy's behavior and accident trying to fend off Haunter. [break][break]

His opponent, Arron Toral, wasn't the friendliest of people. Even if this was a battle, there was such a thing as competitive courtesy. What happened to sportsmanship? Zachary frowned at the coldness-- but it didn't stop him. Perhaps he was focused, or just not easy with strangers. Still, he turned his focus to Dizzy as the battle start. The disembodied sword and shield began to dart-- threatening a "Night Slash" as a strong opener. Zachary was no fool. He knew that such Dark-type moves were critical against psychic types like a Delphox or many of the Pokemon he favored. But that wasn't going to stop him. [break][break] Dizzy's eyes followed the zig-zagging sword, knowing how dangerous it was. Little barks came as it changed direction, growing closer. However, Zachary too was aware of his pokemon's state of awareness-- and acted. "Alright, let's get this game started! Dizzy-- Magic Room!!" he shouted to his companion. [break][break] Dizzy's eyes then cast an eeriee glow as he knelt down and placed his paw on the ground. A magic circle appeared below him-- and pulsed out a psychic aura around the arena! What was once an aura turned into a physical glow as light took shape-- creating large blocks that appeared out of the light, dropping or forming on the ground and mid air. The area enveloped took the entire battle area up to where Arron was. Zachary observed as the terrain changed under Dizzy's control, allowing him to use the mysterious boxes as both cover and vantage points. Dizzy hopped and hid among the boxes-- attempting to evade the Aegislash of all things. More so, with all the box, its movement would be limited and make it harder for a direct attack by the sword pokemon. [break][break] With Dizzy safe for the moment, the fox hid behind one of the boxes briefly. "Next up, Dizzy-- Future Sight!" [break][break] The Delphox soon raised its burning twig. As he held the blade before his face, he gazed into the growing fire and his eyes glowed. Prismatic, multi-colored balls of psychic power formed around Dizzy. With a small shout, the balls shot forward into the air above-- and suddenly each one blinked out of existance, as if they did nothing at all. [break][break] They were sent into the future, a delayed attack. While not the best move to use against the ghostly sword-- it was one of the strongest Psychic attacks and had its use in strategy. Zachary felt confident to use its power and use it early to get a good hit in-- when the enemy least expect it. [break][break] Zachary now had to be sure he was looking out for Dizzy, not just in declaring orders-- but looking around the now cluttered terrain. While Dizzy could use the boxes to jump or climb or hide behind-- so could the enemy, so they both had to be sharp[break][break] No pun intended.

This one was a tough one. A story about those things were not something Zachary knew too well. The Natu cocked his head at Zachary, curious at what he was going to say. He didn't know much about a story, but memory... that struck a nerve for Zachary. [break][break] One thing Zachary feared. He feared bug type Pokemon so badly, that made him cringe, but there was something he really was afraid of far more... Losing his memory. It stemmed from a sad event he had. As he approached the psychic pokemon king-- he decided to do the next best thing than a story, but the truth about him. [break][break]"So... I don't have a real story but there is something I want to share with you," Zachary explained, getting the crown pokemon's attention. "My biggest fear, even more than bugs... is losing my memory. I'm afraid to forget everything that makes me myself and the people I knew." [break][break] He took a deep breath and spoke. "When I was little, I had a grandmother who was sweet and kind. I was just a kid at the time so I didn't know much about how elders were, but she was so kind to me, cooked for me, and took care of me. When my mom took me to visit her, it was nice. However, one day she had to be taken to a care center-- the kind where people in their old age has to go. She suffered from altimeters-- a disease that affects the brain. When i visited her one day, her memory was so bad-- she didn't really remember who I was, and got things confused. To see her like that... terrified me. It was so bad I had to leave. I couldn't understand or want to believe you could just loose your mind like that and forget. " A tear fell from Zachary's eye as eventually, his grandmother did die. He took a deep breath to control himself again and continued. "I don't know what is worse. To be forgotten by someone who loves you, or to forget the people who care about you and feel so alone. I... I rather die than ever wake up one day and not know who you are and what you have done. And the worst thing, you wouldn't even know cause you wouldn't remember even what you're afraid of. I can't..." [break][break] The memory of his experience made him cry and he tried to wipe his tears away with his sleeve. Concerned, his Natu hopped closer on his shoulder to help dry his tears, nuzzling his feathers against Zachary's cheek. [break][break] Recovering, he let out another deep breath. "I never want to forget. I want to remember as much as I can about my friends, my life and the people I care about. And I hope they would never forget me. Those memories mean the world to me, and I want to spend the last of my days knowing full well what I have done with my life. " he explained, sharing all of this being a very emotional experience to him. He could only hope the King Pokemon understood how painful this was for him and accepted his 'story' for what happened to him and why memoryies were so important to him. [break][break]
