"Please escort our guest up," Ameena instructed her employee. Her office on the top floor was more for appearances than anything. She rarely used it, which would be obvious to anyone attentive enough to see the unused notepad, the pens with their plastic protective nibs still in place, and the way her computer mouse was not even plugged in. The office was just a space filled with props, as her real work (and real office) was in basement level two.[break][break]

But the bookcases along the wall were filled with relevant texts to her studies, either skimmed, annotated thoroughly in various chapters, or were outright written by her. If this Dr. Amsel was serious about dream research, Ameena would be happy to invite her to the basement level. [break][break]

And then she heard the footsteps by the door, her assistant and what must be her guest. "Please, come in."[break][break]

Frogadier charged at her with a quick attack, but she was quick to soar high and then dive, striking back with a drill peck. The water-type was likely an adolescent because he had speed but not enough tolerance to tank her strikes. Her piercing beak at him reeling backwards. Even as he generated water for a return assault, Edith prepared another strike. All the while, Ameena pulled a pokeball and tossed it. He would be helpful for environmental travels if not in the lab.

Makoto's illumina pokemon light the way for them both, but admittedly, Ameena's having a hard time wrapping her head around the simulation. She had been briefed on it, though with all the questions she had asked, it had been anything but brief. And now she was actually in it. Without a doubt, she was grateful to have a colleague in the simulation with her, especially as the darkness grew.[break][break]

Ameena's phone buzzes with unintelligible noises. She feels the bone-deep dread that must be effecting Makoto; her footfalls become more hesitant. It's uncharacteristic for someone of her training. Edith the Espathra takes note and tsk's disapprovingly, strutting forward without any apprehension. "Yes," Ameena says with newfound confidence as she follows her pokemon, "we must keep going. The only way through is forward."[break][break]

It's a simulation. She has to remind herself constantly. The immersion into this world is so compelling. It's just a simulation -- but she'd be lying if she wasn't glad to have a partner with such a competent team. Their pokemon all seemed so special. Surely, the two of them could handle anything coming at them. Right?[break][break]

Edith used dazzling gleam on the fish in her path. It was clear she wanted to peck at the thing, but she held back. A pokemon of this appearance gave her the impression it would poison her on contact. The fish used rollout, but the Espathra was already in the air, opening her beak to use disarming voice. All the while, Ameena continued walking down the path. Her Espathra could handle herself, and if she stayed to watch, she was sure Edith would indulge in her sadistic tendencies.

There was little to inspire her in Ever Grande City. She was eager to walk from it with Edith by her side. The time to unwind was welcome, also, given that she had not found the item she had intended to within the city. Disappointment was a feeling better left to those that could not make their own opportunities, however. It was beneath her to feel defeated by something so minute. "Do not play with your food," she instructed as the Espathra began to notice wildlife coming closer. The Espathra was a natural opportunist and would most certainly engage with anything worth the entertainment.

Abundance Connections ("AbCon" for short) is an information technology company created by Ameena Abadi. The company primary works in software and hardware development as it relates to storing and communicating information safely. Cybersecurity, naturally, is another component of the company. Private companies and government agencies alike are frequent customers, but the common public can find neat gadgets for their devices and purchase cybersecurity software if they worry about malware.[break][break]

Also, Rocket and League are welcome to do work they actually care about in terms of development/communication/cybersecurity (directors). Eventually, Ameena's secretive work in the lab may come to light (Rockets capable of contributing resources/research to the project may be in the know already). Description: "AbCon" is a large, square modern building of four-floors filled with floors of information technology development. The first floor is largely comprised of areas open to the public where new items are displayed and public liaisons are quick to talk up the company and its opportunities. Visitors are quickly reminded of charitable routes the company goes through. The second floor is for large-scale buyer access; organizations like private companies and government agencies alike are invited up to this floor to see demos of technology and hear sales pitches about new storage devices and cybersecurity software. ameena hails from galar, a daughter in a long line of men who served as generals and other decorated military officials whilst serving royalty. ameena did her time in the military, though she found an opportunity to pursue her passion (research on dreams and the realm within them) in hoenn and refused additional service. she left honorably, though none of her family felt the same way. with familial and personal riches in hand, she's found quick success in turning away from tradition and into the real world.[break][break]

she runs a tech company, though the ceo and high-level members are all hand-picked and functionally just faces for the operation. she prefers the real work: her research. information technology is a far from inflated market, so it largely takes care of itself. she has her own small lab, but she hopes to find more opportunities.
