Der pokémon at least seem to work on autopilot, doing their damnest to follow the instructions and not think too much about what exactly they're fascing - which is good, since Mille is close to shutting down demself. The flashing lights and shaking vessel are enough to trigger some sensory issues with no place to escape ... gladly, der Metagross floats nearby, scoops dem up and psychically links with dem.

And as it finally ends, Mille nods in response to Makoto's text.

Fenelle remains seemingly unfazed as the battle comes near its conclusion - a thrilling finale indeed, as the Rocket notes. There's only some more things to do ... hold on. It's a surprise and also not to see the Cinderace also going for what would turn out to be a dramatically similiar edge ...

Almost driven out of his mind by pain, all Grimmsnarl focuses on is one thing - the draining life force of his opponent, keeping oh so close despite its proven danger. He remains painfully stoic during Bounce, unmoving as they're both hit by another Double Edge ... And then, pink energy once more. It's almost beautiful, if you ignore the faint scarlet tinge that seeps through everything, matching the blood-stained earth, and water.

But why does it seem like his Spirit's Breaking, as in this proximity, it's hard to tell who exactly is hit. Fact is, the Cinderace seems to be held up higher, as the Grimmsnarl collapses, still entangled with the rabbit.

For a moment, stillness that paints Surrender.

Fenelle averts der gaze, seemingly disappointed.

A heartbeat, one last motion.

Spikes of hair shoot upright, pierce whatever they can find - for there's a dubious smile hidden in giving up if there's breath to exhale and for his is a False Surrender. A last cautionary tale and mayhaps truly the last, as this trick won't really work forever.

Fenelle returns der gaze, and stomps once in acknowledgement - regardless if he'd persevere or not.

Grimmsnarl looms over the rabbit like the darkest witch of any fairy tale, triumphant and oh so certain in victory - yet, the Double Edge has him reeling once more, even as every strand of his hair reaches out to grab and hold onto something despite the sharp edges of pain that's pressing itself further and further into both combatants.

He roars as the Focus Blast successfully lifts him into the air, causing his tangled hair to take uprooted trees and rock with him. Even frantic, for once now he searches the look of his trainer who meets his gaze with an almost impercetible nod. The end is nigh. He releases everything he holds, allowing the distance to grow even further.

Not sure what limbs are functional for him in this orchestra of pain, he can trust whatever's left of his hair with certainty. He forces strands to shoot straight down, whereever the Cinderace might be. Even as frizzled ends stop mid-air, trying their damnest to reach further - other strands are missing altogether, but he still feels them as if they're phantom limbs ...

Dragging his barely moving body closer to the Cinderace using his hair, his maw opens with a frenzy. He bares sharp teeth that missed their target once - edges that drew his own blood in the failure. He lunges to connect with flesh in another try, using Bite as his hair pierces forward in tandem to Leech Life. He'd cling onto dear life - tightening his grip with everything he got.

How long did they fall to still end up atop a tower, what's the distance- are Fenelle's first thoughts as they find themself on solid ground but still in the sky. The numb pain of the not-so-soft descent is only an afterthought, but one that comes with a vengeance. Dee is fully with der back to the shouting and the legendary pokémon at first, and only turns around as dee searches for Frank. Upon seeing him well, dee gives him a thumbs-up while still nursing der arm's awkward impact with the stone.

Dee manages to just barely catch the dialogue before it fades, so dee has context for Frank's next message. There's not a lot of hesitation in der bones as dee swiftly types a reply:

I'm also more of an Ideals guy, so let's go with that for now. Wonder if we'll see a World As If now ...

It would be funky to see a world of Truth actually, but dee wonders more who'd decide whose ideals would manifest how, so dee would stand by der, well, ideals for this choice.

kepler brueshaber's Cinderace outspeeds Grimmsnarl by a mile, and both Fenelle and he know that. Still, the use of Agility is surprising to both of them, and Fenelle regards Kepler with a nod - maybe it'd be nice to have a chat later ... but dee quickly focuses back on the fight, as Grimmsnarl is fully caught in that maneuver, ending up with being smeared on muddy ground. So it's fire and mud, Fenelle thinks, shaking der head as dee can see the Grimmsnarl crumble.

But inside, dee has trained him to be steel. Maybe he'd deserve a physical manifestation of that ... soon.

The dark fairy roars as the Pyro Ball connects and his Bite meets up with nothing, his hair spreading in a flashy display momentarily before it all focuses to lurge him forward for a Bite - that goes into nothing. Enraged, Grimmsnarl is making a Stomping Tantrum, shaking the earth in fury as he snaps back into the fight with clarity. Mud-caked and frizzle-haired, he uses the final stomp to momentum him forward.

He snarls, hisses - his eyes focused in a fierce grimace, framed by menacing hair, as he gathers pink-coloured energy, hurling it at the Cinderace as he uses Spirit Break to close the distance once more.

Grimmsnarl looks extremely alarmed at the incoming Pyro Ball, shortly abandoning everything they've talked about before, no matter how much training he's done to endure. Growing back hair that fabulous is a stinkin' hard job, and he's having none of that - if he can avoid it. Still, the closed distance does mean that he can't fully avoid it even with all the haircrobatics he's capable of, and the smell of burned hair fills the air as Fenelle shakes der head with a frown.

(A careful choreographed performance - and still on track.)

Still, Leech Life connects and that's what matters for now - but, as ever, proximity is a two-way. Grimmsnarl roars as the Focus Blast connects, almost sending him back but he doubles down on the Leech Life for that little bit of heal, to still keep close despite everything.

And then he lurges forward, to close even that little bit of distance with a ferocious Bite - but it's more than questionable if he'd actually connect, as his movements already seem to slow, turn ragged from tanking the entire Focus Blast earlier.

In the stillness of the aftermath, a shell turns soft. Fenelle recalls der Hisuian Goodra in a beam of red light, just for it to reappear shortly after next to dem. There's no conscious mind in his eyes as dee assesses his state, looks at the shell that now bears traces of the battle. Dee presses der hand against it in an almost gentle gesture, leaving a handprint as the Goodra fully retreats into his pokéball now, seemingly content.

Dee lets out a trembling breath as der main opponent from the last round emerged as a finalist, too. (And hey, the terrain doesn't get smaller, either!)

As kepler brueshaber calls for his Cinderace, dee calls for Grimmsnarl. Who immediately looks less than pleased about facing a fire type. Dee pulls him close, staring into his eyes with a frown. He looks back. Dee inhales, then lets out a frankly pathetic wheeze. A wheeze that would translate for him.

Whatever it takes.

There's not more communication between them as everything's up until now has been covered in many training sessions that would now come into fruition.

The battle starts with the already fast pokémon becoming even faster, but at least the goal of closing distance is the same as Grimmsnarl opens up with Fake Out, meeting the Cinderace halfway to clap in front of their face as he's also hit and Bounced back - and immediately lashes out with Leech Life, aiming to enevelope the other in dark hair and keep as close as possible even with the fireball burning right under the Cinderace's feet. He'd fully embrace the leech of Leech Life, hanging on for dear life.
