Fenelle sees something move in der peripheral vision - a Flygon, interesting ... May I try for this one? dee asks Amor, before dee would actually go for it. However, instead of calling forth Morgrem as before, dee tells him to stand back, and instead calls for Marowak.

The pokémon is confused, but Fenelle's signs are clear - attack the Flygon. It wouldn't hurt to test der new pokémon a little bit ... First, she uses Focus Energy, gathering power for a devastating blow. Indeed, not a bad move ... ... now, if Fenelle would only have read some more about Flygon.

Instead of a trial, it turns out to be utterly futile as Levitate makes every single one of Marowak's attacks useless. Every single one was ground-type, against which the dragon-ground type is immune ...

Actually, please disregard, dee signs to Amor, as dee recalls Marowak again. Der expression is neutral, but also obviously embarrassed. I might have ... forgotten. Embarrassing. So embarrassing.

Fenelle squints and grimaces as dee compares two goods with one another - but frankly, it's also just two copies of the same item. However, in der eyes, there's something distinctly different ... so it was really hard to figure out which one dee should end up buying.

The braincell, in fact, actually split now - the Fuecoco, the Porygon and the Milcery all stayed fixed, while the Ralts, the Magnemite and the Vanillite went off on their own adventure. They ended up briefly engaging with a wild Aron, which, to everyone's shock, suddenly got zapped by a red beam. It doesn't seem like the shock for the Aron itself lasted too long, however, as it stayed in the ball, much to the vague shock of the half-braincell, watching their new friend just be taken like that ... before hurrying back quickly back to Fenelle, seeing as the new-trainer of the Aron now actually tried to come for them, too.

There's always this slight itch, almost like a physical itch, that Fenelle has when playing Visual Novels. It's all fun and games until you couldn't reply to every message, and couldn't poke whatever you wanted. Infuriating, but that's not the point! Right now, dee is trying to find out more information, see how much exactly this odd video game knows ...

And while the text isn't exactly Fenelle's style, the action is of more interest ... After all, she just has been washing cups, so there might as well not be a trace left, but maybe ... dee knows that it's got something to do with poison and tea.

Fenelle's mood could barely be any worse (but it can always be worse). The mission last time failed, and they barely managed to escape successfully even after securing a useful pokémon generally. So the next time, they'd have to approach more carefully ... and they've gotta do it quick.

So what better place to figure out a new plan than surrounded by all sorts of trinkets and things that people sell at the Night Market? Normally, dee would lowkey die at the overstimulation, but right now, it's actually kind of pleasant, a stim for der mind to keep it occupied while the actual calculations run undisturbed-disturbed.

Similiar to Amor, Fenelle only glances at the two pokémon, but doesn't pay them much mind. There's other pokémon to be caught, and right now, those definitely do not seem quite as interesting. And if Amor doesn't give a further comment on them, they seem extra uninteresting, too.

Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer? Fenelle volunteers an idiom, and nods. Yeah ... I will train hard. And with the chimes and murmurs of war on der doorstep, indeed, it would probably only be a matter of time until dee would actually need to prove and test der conviction in an actual, hard battle. Or well, maybe dee could stay apart, but there's always this slight feeling. Supporting Sailor, supporting the cause and growth of Team Rocket that dee believes in ...

Earning the actual recognition of people who see you as a collection of skills, pros and cons.

Dee then nods as Amor asks about being interested in his research, then dee smiles a bit as he signs the part about having to adjust and adapt frequently. I understand that well. Computer Science is sort of my expert field, and it's constantly changing a lot, with new programming languages and possibilities coming out. After all, growth here is exponential - half, half, double, double. Dee wonders sometimes why it's exactly that ... except it's the easiest to fill in. No calculations needed to fill the same space - just halve it, and double your cells.

It's kind of like biology, dee signs before realising that there's missing context. Ah, just thought about the growth of data storage. It's always doubling, and reminded me of biological cells.

But, back to the question of Amor's actual research, dee nods eagerly. I would very much appreciate that. I am not entirely up to speed, I'm afraid. I do think Terastallisation might be the phenomen I've looked into the most right now - since it's generally applicable to all pokémon.

Dee looks at der Morgrem, who seems a bit relieved not to have to battle for a hot second, and uses the time to rest up. He does have the potential to use Mega Evolution, and there also seems to be something involving this form and Dynamax from what dee has read ...

The duo of Grimmsnarl and Bronzong is quick to move to eliminate another threat that popped up, but Fenelle quickly moves to intervene, dragging their attention elsewhere with der laser pointer as if dealing with cat pokémon.

We'll capture it, dee signs, before letting the pokémon charge the Magneton to weaken it enough so that the capture would be easy enough. From experience with der own Magnemite, chances are that it's got an ability that would be quite useful indeed ...

Fenelle is 84.9% sure that this is some sort of test, but that concern is quickly overthrown by seeing Iron Treads "in the flesh". That curiosity is then quickly put in order again by Theo's question, forcing them to focus on the task at hand.

Both options have advantages, dee starts signing while contemplating. Here, with Iron Treads being especially sturdy, I vote wait. Dee also looks across, from the top of the sandbank. We're also higher up. We can wait until they're close, then ... Dee uses der hands to symbolise a spiky wheel, which topples down, rolling and gaining speed while impaling their enemies, with facial expressions to match.

(Dee wonders if the "scorched earth trails" would become glass in this desert environment.)

As Fenelle gets the photo with the adresses, dee immediately gets to work to punch them into the app. For a moment, dee becomes entirely focused on that task, only registering Josh's message afterwards as dee sends Josh the finished map - a map of Slateport, with the adresses marked and the quickest pathing done and marked as well.

Fen hopes that dee hasn't stood there for too long, unresponsive to the world - that's definitely not something an Ordinary Person Does.

Dee shakes that thought for now, dee would need to do any adjustments to the normal-person.exe later (which. may or may not actually exist, somewhere in der brain), and finally starts reading Josh's messages.

Oh, one sec.

Before elaborating, dee changes the starting location to the nearest pokémon center and resends their current route. It's the tiniest adjustment that really doesn't do anything but please der brain's occasional, most inopportune needs for perfectionism.

Dee points at Fuecoco, who honestly seems like he's in the best shape ever. Nonetheless, while Josh's sorting out his pokémon, Fenelle walks up to Nurse Joy and presents The Boi. Who is indeed healthy despite walking on ice floats for a long time, which isn't surprising to dem. The actual goal of that little interaction is clear, as Nurse Joy hands him a treat for being so adorable, which he claims with success.

As they reunite with Josh, dee sends:

Dee should have considered that while Fuecoco's been fooling around to get his treats. (Which are also the only reason he ever goes to the doctor, since he seems to be immune to any kind of physical ailment.)

Fenelle looks at the speech-to-text with a pensive look. "So, you mean muck?" the robotic voice sounds out. Then, dee suddenly jumps forward, frowning- quickly examining the many little things on the floor. Nothing has ended up covered in grime or something, right?! Relieved as dee doesn't find anything concerning, dee leans back. "There's nothing wrong with my parts. ... but some are broken." Turns out, tinkering too much isn't too good for the hardware life.

However, the question about reading is met with a shake of the head, and dee nods, noticing the slight motion that isn't put into the motion of rolling eyes. "How? It's hard to imagine in any city ... or did you grow up elsewhere?" dee ponders, genuinely baffled and curious and also very forward with der questions. It's ... Interesting, dee signs, pensive.

"Do you want to learn?" dee then asks after overcoming the first curiosity. After all, it's not like people keep underestimating dem because of der lack of hearing - while dee is still taking spoken words with a grain of salt. How the hell do you communicate with so limited means?

Xuanyi is glad for one moment to have successfully captured the attention of their knight in steely company, but this doesn't last too long - after all, the Cacturne has went in for an attack, that has swiftly been blocked by the metal wings of the steel bird. The pink-haired seems to be equally impressed as well as intimidated, as they take an unconscious step backwards, getting some distance between them and the fight. They could run off, but now, that just seemed rude, even if this would fully serve the purpose of the stranger intervening.

(At least Fenelle thinks that they swooped in to save their pokémon-less ID - it definitely would make for a better story, in der opinion.)

There's even more pokémon that the blonde calls upon, pokémon that slowly do make Xuanyi back off, even if they seem to also understand that these are, by no means, hostile. Still, their mere presence seems to instill a certain kind of fear in them, and it shows in widened eyes, that also do not look away from the object of their fear.

Okay, maybe they glance at the other person present, too.

This moment of inattention might lead to the following turn in battle - the Cacturne has definitely clocked Xuanyi to be the weakest among the group, and also quickly calculated its odds against the trio of steel pokémon. Unsurprisingly, it barely stood a chance - so instead, it kicks up sand with a Sand Attack, wanting to distract Mireille's pokémon while getting past them, seemingly going for Xuanyi directly!

The trio moves quietly under the cover of the night, and quickly come to face their first disturbance. Even from a distance, they could see that the routed entrance onto the property is blocked by a Jolteon, crackling brightly with electricity. Fenelle isn't sure what it's doing here, but they need it gone, quickly and quietly.

Dee motions for Bronzong and Grimmsnarl to move onward, before taking out their pointer, quickly turning the laser on- and off again, doing the agreed morse code for Bite and Psywave to take out the Jolteon quickly before it could alarm anyone.

And then, onwards it is.
