Roze had been spending the last hour or so staring at a batch of boxes, it'd been about a month since she technically moved here in Hoenn, yet she still hadn't unpacked her belongings beyond necessities. Of course, part of it she'd owed to spending so much time out, working or sightseeing, or battling against, and barely surviving manmade horrors who seemed to want nothing but the total destruction of its creators and the world around them, you know, just the usual girlypop things.[break][break]

Nonetheless, she'd felt her grip on reality slowly drifting as sunlight had blessed the small room in her little cabin, a good sign that this wasn't getting anywhere. With a sigh she'd pushed through her daily necessities—a task made a little harder with her dominant arm injured and in a sling—to put her mind off of the pandora's boxes sitting there, calling for her, begging to be opened. Yet she'd found herself lacking something as she was preparing breakfast, she didn't have plates.[break][break]

It wasn't long after that the young Galarian woman, who normally seemed rather well put together, had come practically bursting out her door, a thermos in hand full of the coffee that should have been enjoyed at leisure with some Kalosian toast that most certainly hadn't been left in the pan and lidded. She'd looked far more glum and dour than anyone who's met her thus far in this coastal region would have seen, and she was somewhat thankful she lived out further in the far outskirts so that her embarrassment could simmer and cool off in the early morning.[break][break]

By the time she'd reached the actual township of Dewford, Roze had found herself in another dilemma. None of the shops she could find were open or selling tableware. Right, crack of dawn. Even if she'd lived fairly distantly, this was a slight problem. She'd sighed, taking a small sip of coffee to stave off the cold, what was she going to do now?

Roze had nodded, even knowing that Fox, nor Eduardo nor Tsubaki's attention was focused on her, this confirmation hadn't been for any of them, even if they had been the ones to highlight it. She'd claw her way towards victory if she had to, if only to ease the burden as much as she could.[break][break]

"Right!" she'd called out with more confidence, a more direct response that collated a simple answer to those around her, she'd been surprised by the sudden action of Eduardo having so simply been picked up and thrown like a toy—yet she'd been quick-witted nonetheless, hurriedly tossing out another poké ball towards the man, an Altaria released from the ball, "Cloudy, hurry! Catch him, and protect!"[break][break]

The Altaria had fluttered quickly and with grace, making enough time to comfortably embrace the hulking man in a soft cotton shell, and hiding her head within her cotton down and bracing to protect the hero with a Cotton Guard, a grand burst of soft plumage further surrounding the airborne duo.

Despite the early morning, and her current situation with a broken right arm resting in a cast and sling, Roze had been rather active, a light backpack slung over her left, a Pikachu-themed thermos full of warm coffee slotted in it, she'd been aware of the damage wrought upon Granite cave and Dewford, though much like most, she hadn't been quite aware of what this 'Regice' that had caused it could even be, simply some catastrophic being that had destroyed an important habitat not too long before Roze had even moved to Hoenn.[break][break]

She could only really think of one other such destructive being, the steel colossus she'd struggled against in the deserts. She'd peered at her bracelet, the odd crystal embedded in it almost feeling misplaced and odd, did it really hold such extraordinary powers? Roze had sighed, she still hadn't been sure if howard slayte was still alive after all that had happened, but she'd have to hope that if he was, he'd be on a better path.[break][break]

Roze had hoped to try and push for an effort to help restore Granite Cave, though that was a goal a little too out of her reach just yet, having not quite met a particular handful of people just yet who'd be able to push her in the right direction. Though she'd been surprised to find that Dewford itself had been rather extensively damaged, despite knowing its decently close proximity to the caverns. She'd noticed a cleanup crew of some sorts working nearby, much of them far too busy to bother yet, she'd noticed an old man—assumedly working as a foreman, though he'd seemed rather puzzled and distraught for some particular reason.[break][break]

The raven-haired Galarian slowly approached with a soft wave and a gentle smile, "is everything alright?" she'd asked, "thank you for the effort you're putting into taking care of the damage, ah, yes! Right, my name's Roze, it's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance," she'd almost offered her right arm, before quickly correcting her mistake with her left in as amicable fashion as she could.

It wasn't all that rare for Roze to hear of wild pokémon attacks, such a thing just came with interacting with wild animals, without a shared language or means of communication, it was an unfortunate thing yet quite common to accidentally prod wild pokémon in a manner that would anger them. Yet, it was a bit stranger to hear such things be happening unprompted.[break][break]

Dewford wasn't that big of an island, certainly much larger than many surrounding it in this particular stretch of ocean, but most certainly dwarfed by the grand landmass just over the horizon. If a nest of Combee and Vespiquen had grown to become a danger, it'd certainly be more chaotic in such a confined area.[break][break]

Despite an injured right arm resting in a sling, Roze couldn't particularly hold still when it came to this sort of situation, and here she'd come, trekking from her residence further West to this far Eastern corner of Dewford island, hoping to investigate the problem and deal with it in as peaceful manner as possible. She was fairly lightly dressed in the summer heat, no more than what one might expect from a day stroll or light jog. A simple hat, a sky blue shirt with some sort of Alolan-themed branding, and a backpack beyond the slightly more atypical hiking pants and boots.[break][break]

Alongside the conservationist had been her Pawmo, Rumble, ever so careful to try to assist his trainer wherever needed in place of her right arm. Having gone deep enough into the forest, Roze had surveyed the lands, her Pawmo hurrying up atop her shoulder to shield her eyes from the sun in perhaps a far more amusingly affectionate manner than she'd needed. Nonetheless she'd stopped in a small clearing, taking a small break for water and offering the marmot pokémon some water and a pecha berry from a nearby tree as a snack.

In spite of her own fear, and that Eddie had seen it up close in comparison to the two giants duking it out, witnessing her pokémon's attempt to protect them, and even seeing the titanic being ablaze, its screams of pain—for a brief moment, something had pierced through the cloud of dread that had plagued her. They could feel? Her gaze had remained fixed upon the frozen titan, not even quite aware of the conversation at-hand, the insistence of two sides pushing her to stay or go.[break][break]

Empathy. A feeling of hers that felt all too familiar... yet alien when it came to the monstrous titans. Havre had returned to his poké ball, and Roze was aware that she couldn't stand there, but, was she wrong? Had she been so blinded by fear and negativity that she'd forgone her usual path? There was far too little she knew about the Regis, far too little she knew about anything here.[break][break]

She'd gasped, her breath seizing as she'd gulped down frozen air, coughing. All this time, Roze hadn't been aware that she'd been far too cowed by Regice itself. Her wits returning to her, despite not having even heard Eduardo's insistence for her to leave, nor Howard's demand she stayed, she'd made her own decision, planting her feet into the ground, she didn't want to regret not doing anything.[break][break]

She'd sent out a figure that had perhaps been familiar to the two others who'd been present at the desert, a small, fluffy pixie with as much determined confidence as Roze herself, her Clefairy hopping out in a naive delight. Their gaze turned upwards, burning acid raining upon them. Her Clefairy had wagged her finger, a beautiful Life Dew pouring out from the fairy's little finger. An attempt to push aside the falling viscera, and to heal the wounds of their allies, to help the others.[break][break]

"I won't give up," Roze had whispered a hand clenched over her heart.

TL;DR: Roze contemplates if Regis are alive, she was too tunneled to hear the conversation around her, she brought out her Clefairy to Life Dew to heal those around her.

The young conservationist had little information on the connections of those before her, she hadn't recognised her two saviours, and she'd clearly known far less about the man of Team Rocket and his cold-hearted companion than she'd already thought she had. The sinister form of one of her saviours alongside the conversation at hand had left Roze puzzled, yet, she'd at least understood that the young woman had good intentions.[break][break]

She'd put her faith in her current allies, Admin Fox needed to be stopped here before he could inflict further damage, and even Roze understood she did not have the strength to clear such a lofty goal.[break][break]

She'd felt the need to call upon her own words, the sentiment of Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki and the damaged heart of a man she wished to trust stirring her soul. No words would escape however, after all, she knew that she knew too little of the topic at hand, she'd need to learn eventually, but her words had been said already, and any further may well cause more harm than good.[break][break]

Yet as much as Roze would focus on the battle, just one moment had caused her heart to sink, a sight far too familiar, far too real to the living nightmare she and—oh, she did recognise one of her saviours, after all, Eduardo Hisakawa had been among those fighting the steel behemoth in the desert—her breath had stilled, a cold sweat as her eyes remain focused on the silhouette of a monstrous titan threatening their lives, a far too horrifying parallel to the gruesome destruction wrought upon a distant desert she could still vividly recall—her desperate attempts to help and protect, even borrowing upon the man's power back then when she hadn't even known his name.[break][break]

Perhaps, the Coalossal could feel Roze's resolve be shaken in the face of a traumatic experience relived, Roze hadn't even realised just how much she'd dreaded that moment, her consciousness far too fixated on the grossly incadescent brilliance of the Dynamax Cannon to even understand that she'd been feeling fear. A decision it had made all its own, an effort to protect its trainer.[break][break]

The Coalossal had charged forward, colliding with the steel containers that had threatened Eduardo and Roze, burning hot with adrenaline and fury as it recklessly attacked with abandon, perhaps hoping to change the trajectory of the attack, the Coalossal had slammed into the Regice with a Heat Crash, in an attempt to ignite the tar that it had impeded the frozen titan with. In its brazen attack, the Coalossal was sure to be struck by the very attack it sought to deflect. Whether its actions meant anything or not was yet to be seen.

Roze Falkner and howard slayte stumble across one another within the ashened desert, with little more to do, they tread through what remains while exchanging their worldly perspectives and personal aspirations, all the meanwhile contending with the revelation that howard slayte was in fact a member of Team Rocket. Ultimately ending their brief journey through the desert as Howard continues to chase the steel titan and Roze returns to recuperate and try to assist any more survivors.[break]

why is it important?: Roze got her mega stones! Oh yeah, and some character development I guuuueeeessssss. Jokes aside, much of this sets up for Roze's motives despite her ill-timed appearance in Petalburg during the First Wave, causing much contention and hardship as she's battling against the first friend she's made and someone she'd had a lot of respect for since moving to Hoenn.

It further showcases much of how she thinks, her motivation and how exactly she perceives 'good and bad', she's always been very nature and pokémon focused, and her view on people very heavily is coloured by how exactly they treat pokémon and others in general. Despite barely knowing the man, she'd already kept silent about realising the identity of Admin Fox, and intends to for the foreseeable future during the events of Wrath of Registeel. She quite genuinely wants to believe that he's not a bad person even as she finds out more about his atrocities during the First Wave, and she remains steadfast to her vow despite the guilt.

In the Wake of Wrath helps depict her sense of kindness, in her desire to convey to a damaged man that he deserves to live, and explains why she keeps silent despite knowing the true identity of a man who's caused as much damage as he's seemingly suffered. Happiness isn't reserved for just one person, and Roze simply wants a friend to know he can be forgiven and be happy.

Beyond her current views, it further helps establish her desire to grow stronger, to protect the things she cares about, and helps bring that one step closer.

Oh yeah, shout out to Mag in general for being a fun thread partner, it's still kinda nuts to me that I can bounce off him so well since I know I'm a bit of a slow poster usually, brings me back to me old times where I'd genuinely just speed-reply that I'd finish a thread in a day pre-Hoenn (like 10 years ago) lmao. But yeah nah legit, it's just been especially fun building up ideas with him and hell even getting to write unexpected things (this is more in regards to the First Wave Prelude thread, which, much love to Eduardo Hisakawa and Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki too, you both have been a blast to write with <3 thank you for putting up with one of Roze's biggest flaws in her dumbassery when it comes to trying too hard to help others). Much of what I'd had at first had simply just been "too kind for her own good, ditsy nature lover", and in another time maybe I'd have not had quite as much fun with that on its own and gave up on her, but in the short... month or two I've been writing Roze, it's just been a great amount of fun seeing how much the character's evolved past that, and I feel that the three threads I've had with Mag so far's been the biggest contribution to all that development (man this all really stemmed from some dumbass getting gut-punched by 50 Cranidos, huh?). So, this might be a whole ass paragraph of me waffling but, tl;dr, thanks boss, also I'll listen to Regirock for another 10 hours.

Oh and finally, Roze's developed Post Regi Stress Disorder. She's not aware that the Regis are in fact pokémon and it's been fun having her believe them to be simply man-made horrors, and it'll be just as fun having her find out that they are and having to contemplate just how she views them.

She'd remained quiet as Howard had said his piece, a small smile on her face that appreciated these kind words that went her way, honestly had the situation not been as dire as it was, perhaps Roze may have gotten the wrong idea from such a bold declaration. Yet, regardless, the outcome was the same, if only far more somber than it may have been at any other point in time.[break][break]

"You as well, Howard, please don't throw away your life or your heart for this, you're just as important as I or any other person in this world," she'd responded gently, despite the man's own beliefs, Roze knew that her knowledge wouldn't exist without the work of others, foundations built by their forefathers and improved upon. While the conservationist had misgivings about his part in Team Rocket, she'd still respected the man as an archaeologist and his adoration for paleontology and ancient pokémon that he'd shown. Much of what the world today knows was built on history, and that men like Howard were far better suited to teach such lessons than she was.[break][break]

Roze of course, couldn't possibly fathom the pain and suffering the man had been through, nor what he may have done to others, she was far too early in her own journey to even glimpse such a thing. Yet, the young Galarian woman had the capacity for at least one thing, and that was kindness, the kindness to look beyond one's wrongdoings and mistakes, to offer a hand and let them try again, so long as they wished for it, and the patience to keep that hand outstretched for as long as it may take.[break][break]

"We may not have known each other long but, I believe you're my first friend I've made since I moved to Hoenn, and I'd like to cherish that rather than mourn it in the future." She'd said quietly, crouching down to inspect the strange ores that had surfaced from the shifting sands. She'd dusted off what little sand remained on the beautiful crystals, picking up a piece and offering it to the man, whilst collecting some for herself, rather curious as to what they might be, "a souvenir for all our troubles might be nice," she'd said in a half-hearted chuckle, hoping to lighten the mood despite knowing that there was little more she could do in this chapter of the two's journeys.[break][break]

She could only hope that he wouldn't regret his decisions.

As confident in Eduardo and the titanic beast as Roze had been, even she'd been stunned by Terrakion's means of defense, watching as the very same beam that had scattered every trainer who'd participated in the battle against the steel behemoth and laid waste upon the deserts of Route 111 despite the combined efforts of those who had gathered... be deflected by the hefty blow of a Sacred Sword, she'd felt the heat of the blast flash past, yet adrenaline had caused her tunnel vision on that which was in front of her, not that the rookie could afford to lose sight of the battle, lest she become a burden. Grieving the damage to another wondrous locale and healing the land was a responsibility of Roze's in the future, for now, to survive and protect was her goal.[break][break]

Yet, as she continued fighting, it had tormented her further and further, there was no denying that what Team Rocket was doing was wrong, but she couldn't help but feel pained by the spiraling descent into madness of the man who'd stood before the three of them. His desperation to prove his cause true. Even as a Blizzard had set upon the battlefield, even as he'd admitted to the damage he'd caused in Dewford—the very place Roze had chosen to settle for the sake of rebuilding the restoring the damaged environment—she'd wished there was a way to sway howard slayte to stop, but she knew from their heart to heart in the ashened dregs of the desert that she could not convince him.[break][break]

Roze wasn't sure what to think of the strange yet serene being that had connected with Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki, another pokémon she'd never seen nor heard of before even in her studies. For now, she'd understood that it... seemed to mean no harm, even if she couldn't understand the cryptic words that the trainer seemed to speak with.[break][break]

Ultimately, the conservationist had no words for the man, not Fox. Yet Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki's own final words had resonated with her heart, words she'd said such a brief amount of time ago to howard slayte, and words she'd repeat time and time again if it could save one more soul. Now was not that time however, Roze had pressed forward, it was a phenomenon she'd had no experience in, yet, one she'd need to rely upon nonetheless to keep up and help try to turn the tide, using one of the very same stones she'd found alongside a dear friend to do her best to stop the villain before them.[break][break]

Her bracelet had resonated with a brilliant glow, her own burning behemoth burgeoning into a grand furnace, an elemental of tar and volcanic wrath as the Coalossal Mega Evolved, roaring with pride and steam as Roze herself had been surprised by the drastic change in appearance despite knowing it would happen—having only witnessed this form for the first time just now, even if she'd recalled a handful of these transformations back in the battle against the wrathful steel titan.[break][break]

With a swift whistle, she'd directed her Coalossal to try to further impede Fox and his pokémon, the fiery beast spewing soot and ash in the direction of the Rocket Admin in an effort to further impede the man with a Tar Shot.[break][break]

She'd dearly hoped that the heat emanating from her empowered Coalossal would help stave off the unrelenting cold.

In her desperation to return her pokémon to his ball, Roze hadn't realised her own mistake, having inadvertently put herself in harms way once more as the Hyper Beam had seemed to travel past her Archaludon in the brief moment of time she'd tried to return him to his poké ball. She was almost certain that this would be her end as brilliant light seemed almost ready to engulf her very being—only, as the young woman had winced and tensed up in preparation for pain and a swift end, the grossly incandescent, blinding light had disappeared, a far grander shadow covering for her as she'd stared in awe as Terrakion had made an appearance, protecting her from the blast.[break][break]

It had only been a brief moment, no more than a second or two before she'd felt her Archaludon manage to return to her, despite its angered state, yet in that sliver of time she'd found surprising wonder from the legendary beast in question, yet another pokémon she'd never seen or heard of before in all her time, another exceedingly rare, beautiful pokémon she'd find herself curious about at another time, another that unlike the vaguely humanoid elementals she's now seen two of, seemed far gentler—in truth, Roze was genuinely unaware that the golems howard slayte seemed to obsess over in his search for power were in fact pokémon, simply believing them to be man-made horrors.[break][break]

Yet as the mountainous beast shielded her from the blast, she'd finally had the chance to turn back to Eduardo Hisakawa, hurrying to follow as he'd ordered and stay positioned in a safer spot behind the two. For a moment however, Roze had faltered—far too brief to be of notice, yet, there'd been a further pain against her heart and soul, as Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki had revealed more of howard slayte's atrocities beyond this very day, ones that Roze hadn't been aware of due to how recently she'd arrived in the region—she'd promised herself to consider the archaeologist and the man of Team Rocket as two separate people, but it still hurt to know there was more, even if she'd surmised that the man she wished the salvation of had stained his hands long before the two had ever met.[break][break]

Regardless, Roze had stood her ground, she'd do everything in her power to protect what she could, to help save what she could of Petalburg from Fox and his monsters, and to save one soul, even if she couldn't voice aloud that one wish of hers.[break][break]

She'd put her faith in the heroes before her, and while she wasn't equipped to help deter the far too familiar crimson beam fired from the icy golem, she'd left that to the man of the hour, fully assured that with Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki's Gengar's sacrifice, Eduardo Hisakawa and the warrior beside him could protect them all.[break][break]

"Havre! Let's clean things up, quick! Clear the way for them!" she'd called out hurriedly, confidence renewed in the presence of the man and woman she was fighting alongside, with a quick switch of poké balls, another heavy beast had emerged in the form of her Coalossal, a hulking mountain of coal and tar given flesh and form, with a Rapid Spin at an almost dizzying pace, he'd quickly cleared the Toxic Spikes soon after they'd scattered, however, her Coalossal had been poisoned in the process.

Roze had remained silent, her eyes wandering over the ashened fields, the more Howard had focused on this grander fear, the more worried Roze had felt that perhaps he was too blinded by this monstrous being that loomed over the horizon to see the possibility that we were as great a danger to ourselves as his enigmatic god was. That whatever rot he was trying to prevent, he might just well cause himself with the powers he wishes to rely upon.[break][break]

"Whatever it is we fight, just... don't regret it." At this point, Roze had understood she couldn't steer howard slayte away from this path, yet she'd hoped dearly that even under his guise of a member of Team Rocket, as whoever this 'Admin Fox' is, he wouldn't throw away the last of his humanity in his battle. While she wasn't quite sure how to put it into words herself, monsters can only be beaten by man.[break][break]

Yet, the tired look in the man's eyes had quieted their conversation, it had indeed told Roze everything she needed to know, and had hurt her heart more than anything else. She'd almost choked on her own words, the intense sadness seeing the man in such a miserable state had her silent for a moment too long, her own throat dry and hot that it had burned her first words away, "You--... You don't need to have an answer right away, it might not even be for me to hear once you figure it out," she'd explained, a solemn smile on her face despite the sorrow seeping into her body, "just think about it, please. Dream about your future too, not just that of those around you, make it a happy one. If you truly care enough to save a world, save yourself too."[break][break]

She'd looked outwards towards the distant horizon, despite the sandstorm obscuring view, that massive monster was still visible and out there, "I'll do my best to fight for what I think is right too," she'd promised. Her words more for herself than for the man beside her.

Roze's anger had been dispelled briefly by the sudden clarity imparted upon her by Eduardo Hisakawa, the sudden realisation that this was not the time nor place for her to lose her cool, lest she become a further liability than she already has. Almost downtrodden, she'd realise the white-knuckled strength she was putting into her grip around nothing, she'd even been shocked by just how upset she'd gotten.[break][break]

"... right, my apologies, I'll bring up the rear, sir," she'd shown her relent verbally, though realising that she wasn't aware of who her saviours were, nonetheless, she couldn't simply leave behind her pokémon like this, and retracting her support right that very moment might prove dangerous, she'd fwitted a quick whistle alerting the Archaludon to a plan, a practiced maneuver even with her bum right arm, the pokémon slowly managing its own retreat in a manner that wouldn't endanger the female rescuer who'd aided them, while Roze continued making distance with the rough-looking man and the civilians—mindful to be ready to return the towering pokémon to her side before the distance became too great.[break][break]

Before she nor her Archaludon had even realised, the seeping cold had almost disintegrated in a far more brilliant flash of power than the Archaludon's previous Flash Cannon, while Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki and her Gengar had managed to escape the blast, Roze's Archaludon had caught a full-frontal burst of the entity's Hyper Beam. Roze's gaze had whipped to the source, a grimace filled with newfound anger unable to be contained as she'd realised what she had been looking at. It was barely much time ago yet, she'd found herself at the mercy of another... man-made horror.[break][break]

Yet, she'd still managed to push it down, at least enough to remember she had people she could help save right now, before it's too late. She'd hurried to try to return her Archaludon to his ball, not even sure if the pokémon was still even up and running behind a curtain of kicked up dust, sand and billowing smoke. Rather than return to his trainer however, the dragon pokémon seemed to be far more in tune with Roze's negative emotions at this very moment, running on its own near-berserk anger, having tackled the empowered Hyper Beam and maintained a sliver of hope by its own Sturdy body, the dragon pokémon had released its own counter attack in a glimmering Metal Burst filled with the very same power that had nearly brought itself down aimed back at the coldhearted golem.[break][break]

However, it seemed unaffected.[break][break]

As much as Roze had done her best not only to improve herself but her pokémon as well in the brief time she's had since the desert, it was clear she needed much farther to go if she wished to grasp the strength to protect those around her. In her own pokémon's recklessness and folly, refusing to listen to his trainer's command, to the strength truly needed to take on the power of legends and myth, to finally Roze's own rash mistake that had put the dragon in this situation.[break][break]

"Get back in the ball, now! Before it's too late!" she'd shouted to her pokémon, a clear fear in her voice that not even Roze herself had realised had gripped her this entire time.

"The world around is just as powerful as it is beautiful, yes," Roze had agreed, staring across the decimated desert, as convinced as Howard had been of his convictions, she still couldn't agree with his methods, "but it's a mistake to think we can keep pushing it as far as we do with no lashback," she'd added further, "if you have to push the entire world to this state... you kill your god, and you may well just end up killing everything else on the way there, and I can't imagine something so grandiose to earn the title of 'god' would take any less than just that." Roze had pushed forward her own philosophy, she wasn't really much of a philosopher, nor even a historian, but she did know that even if the world could bounce back from whatever tragedy and decimation man might bring upon it, there was never a guarantee that man themselves would come with the world, and not just man, ruin such as the fires that burned the very desert they stood within on a grander scale? Extinction for many species of pokémon wasn't exactly farfetched.[break][break]

She'd chuckled, an empty laughter, a display of just how despairing of a thought that such an event would be, "this is mutual destruction at best, Howard." Roze had said coldly, staring the man in the eyes for the first time in a while on their long trek through the desert, her gaze lacking the gentle kindness that usually overflowed from the conservationist. She'd nonetheless offered to help the man sit down, if only to escape the biting winds for a brief moment in this small, cramped shelter.[break][break]

"I mean after you 'win'," she'd said after the longest time, the kindhearted warmth flowing back into her voice, "what will Howard Slayte do after he 'saves the world'? What happiness does he want to chase? Where will he settle down? I want to know what the normal if a bit silly archaeologist will do, not what a god-slaying martyr will." Roze had explained plainly.

A wave of relief almost threatens to topple the conservationist, a chance to relax as some chance for salvation had both come and affirmed its existence, yet Roze knew neither she, nor the civilians nor even their rescuers were out of the woods yet, not without Team Rocket and Admin Fox just behind them.[break][break]

She'd nonetheless nodded in response to Eduardo Hisakawa's question, a strange pokémon she wasn't aware of prying open the melted steel like a simple tin can by the man's order much to Roze's own amazement. The enigmatic woman accompanying him, who'd seemed to have been responsible for the hole bored in the first place, seemed to have some strange hold over those around her, another thing Roze simply couldn't explain in her own words.[break][break]

With the arrival of rescue, however, Roze understood that any chance to appeal to the man named howard slayte, to perhaps save his soul, had closed. All there was now was to do her best to assist Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki and Eduardo Hisakawa in holding off Admin Fox and make sure the civilians escaped. As the Shadow Ball soared past the mysterious woman and had shot wide overhead, Roze had hurried to try and shield any who might come to harm with her own body. She'd hurried further, instinct causing her to move her right arm towards her belt—despite having even shifted her poké balls to her left to accommodate—discomfort the first thing to cause her to stop moving her injured arm, she'd nonetheless hurried to release her Archaludon from its ball, a heavy thud kicking up sand outside the container as the dragon's weight slammed down upon the earth. A stalwart wall to further protect those who couldn't defend themselves as Roze hurried the civilians out the back, only leaving herself once they were out and it seemed the mysterious woman who'd rescued them was staying for the moment.[break][break]

"Thank you for coming, I'll do what I can to help, just call me Roze," Roze had called out reassuredly, regardless of whether Admin Fox considered her a worthwhile investment to fight, Roze refused to back down when others put themselves in danger for her sake, and while she still could do the very same.[break][break]

Yet as she'd stepped into the light, she'd felt utter shock as she'd bore witness to her surroundings. She'd known that Team Rocket's invasion had been bloody, yet... she hadn't been prepared for the damage suffered during their capture. The devastation wrought upon the once-beautiful city surrounded by nature, practically razed to the ground for the sake of conquest. It was bad enough when a single unfeeling entity wrought this destruction, yet, when such needless pain was brought about by the selfish will of many? Roze understood that those here would be another number added to the death toll if they didn't give their all, putting away her feelings, she'd breathed deeply, desperate to push aside anything that wouldn't immediately tend to her desire to protect.[break][break]

"Stormy, if you will, Flash Cannon." she'd said in a solemn tone, the towering Archaludon that barely fit within the belly of the steel beast gathering brilliant light to fire it off and catch one of the Rocket grunt's pokémon in a blast alongside Hyakkaryōran Tsubaki's Gengar's Sludge Wave.[break][break]

In her emotions, Roze hadn't noticed the chill seeping into the area.
