They were swiftly gagged, tied up, and placed in an undisclosed location. The grunts took extra precautions to ensure their capture was secure and that no harm came to them, at least not until further orders were given.

"They're secured, sir," Mark reported to his general. As he switched between various camera angles on his monitor, he remained unfazed by the entire ordeal. He understood what was required of him and, in some ways, felt fortunate to be behind the computer screen rather than out in the field.

The sudden appearance of crystals enveloping his general's hands caught him off-guard, making him question the general's humanity. His gaze quickly shifted from the general's hands to his face, seeking reassurance that he was still working with a human. Seeing such power over the internet was one thing but witnessing them in person was an entirely different experience.

Mark realized he had been too quiet. The absence of his keystrokes created an eerie silence, broken only by the interrogatee's murmurs. Ignoring the man, Mark's fingers moved again, this time searching for locations. He found where the man's wife worked and where his children went to school; crucial information for extracting answers. His search extended to camera feeds, some of which were alarmingly easy to access due to their weak security measures.

"Give the word, and we'll have them," Mark said, his voice steady despite the tension in the room.

Mark couldn't shake the feeling of frustration. This whole infantry training exercise felt like a waste of time to him. His talents extended far beyond the basics of weapons and vehicle operation. His true weapon was his mastery of the internet, as he was capable of wreaking havoc with just a few keystrokes. Field operations seemed trivial in comparison.

As he stewed in his thoughts, a new presence cut through his irritation like a breath of fresh air. Lush locks of mint-green hair stood out vividly against the drab training grounds. Mark's eyes followed her from her face down to her shoes and back up again, taking in every detail before finally meeting her gaze. She asked him a question, her voice pulling him out of his moment of dread. He felt a flush rise to his cheeks and quickly looked away, trying to focus on the other soldiers in the distance.

"Depends on what I'm driving," he replied, hoping to divert attention from his sudden moment of embarrassment. Mark would willingly accept anything she chose for them.

He wasn't the one being interrogated, yet the room's oppressive atmosphere was designed to break even the toughest individuals. Normally, Mark would rely on his escapism in moments like this. The laptop in front of him was his gateway out of this dreary place, but he had to be on his best behavior. This time, he was accompanied by someone who far outranked him.

Like an acrobat, Mark's fingers danced across the keyboard in a display of sheer skill. The monitor of his laptop flickered with a variety of different programs and software. Mark would normally groan at the lack of hardware at his disposal, but he needed to display his value in this moment.

"He has a wife and two children." Although his tone was subtle, the words were clear. All Mark needed was a first name and a location, and he found everything in a matter of seconds. His fingertips paused on the keyboard, waiting for the next order from the god general.

In many ways, he was akin to them, a night owl adept at navigating the digital world in search of rewards. Tonight, however, his prize was far more significant than a mere block of cheese.

The concept of creating simulated worlds had long intrigued Mark, and now, driven by his new resources, he was determined to unravel the secrets of the Seal Stone. Normally, Mark's approach to research was often lazy, but this task had ignited a rare flame of determination within him, propelling his efforts forward, however incrementally.

"What do you think, M?" Mark asked, his voice a subtle whisper that barely disturbed the stillness of the room. The porygon-z hovering beside him responded with a soft static hum, its disjointed limbs twitching in sync with Mark's fingers on the keyboard. Seated on the floor, Mark's lap was a tangle of wires connected to his laptop, which in turn linked to a multitude of machines scattered throughout the submarine’s makeshift lab.
