If anything went wrong, like accidentally popping a wheelie for everyone to see, he would be the one to blame. Despite this, Circe still had him under her control. If she so much as told him to sit like a dog, he would obey.

"Y-yeah, I think we're good," Mark echoed, his voice betraying his nerves. Whether it was a cough from his own saliva or a subtle cry for help, the stutter revealed his situation to the other grunt.

Instead of racing, they took a gentle, almost romantic, ride around the base. Mark carefully navigated the ATV, avoiding grunts and equipment along the way. He focused on the path ahead, playing the role expected of him until his partner decided she was done with him.

[attr="class","mark-inner"]Mark tried to play the part of a grunt as the woman took charge. He watched as she deliberated over the options before settling on a two-person ATV.

"You want me to drive th—?" Mark's question was cut off by Circe's playful yet insistent instructions. Her confidence flustered him, but it also spurred him on, pushing him to want to impress her. As she tapped the empty space in front of her, he experienced another feeling of warmth creeping up his neck and cheeks.

Swallowing his nerves, Mark climbed onto the ATV. The sensation of Circe's presence just behind him was almost too much to bear. He focused intently on finding the ignition, trying to mask his embarrassment. Although he had seen diagrams and understood the mechanics, he had never actually driven one of these vehicles before.

As he turned the key and pulled the handle, the ATV roared to life. The sudden surge of power caught him off guard, and the front wheels lifted off the ground. Mark leaned forward desperately to keep the ATV from tipping backward, but not before the stunt drew the attention of everyone in the hangar.

"How much are you offering?" he inquired.

As he spoke, the eerie static aura presented by the electric-type attracted one of Mark's pokemon. A Rotom, similar to the scientist's, emerged from behind his shoulder, its curiosity piqued by the presence of another of its kind.

He knew his skills were better suited elsewhere, but for now, there was no one else to handle the job. Typically, Mark didn't get distracted by the women he worked with, but despite his minor grievances, he found some solace in working alongside a cute girl.

"You could say that," he replied, his tone hinting at his dissatisfaction with the current assignment. A strangely-colored Morpeko lifted one of the pieces of equipment and handed it to Mark, trying to be helpful. Rotom, another of Mark's pokemon, floated nearby, levitating pieces of the camera equipment to the ceiling of the crystal-covered cavern and securing them into place. Meanwhile, Mark managed the wiring below, ensuring all the cables connected properly.

The sheer authority in Zev's voice was enough to break the man in front of them. Like a rat caught in a trap, the interrogatee spilled everything he knew, revealing names, locations, and even minor plans in a desperate bid to save himself. Mark's fingers flew across the keyboard, effortlessly keeping up with the flow of information and organizing it into a detailed spreadsheet.

Once the man had divulged all he knew, Mark's job was complete. The information was securely logged into the submarine's servers, ready to be transmitted back to mint frost. Closing his laptop, Mark waited for Zev to take charge. If the information proved to be of high priority, they might need to deliver it directly to the Rocket Beast.

They were swiftly gagged, tied up, and placed in an undisclosed location. The grunts took extra precautions to ensure their capture was secure and that no harm came to them, at least not until further orders were given.

"They're secured, sir," Mark reported to his general. As he switched between various camera angles on his monitor, he remained unfazed by the entire ordeal. He understood what was required of him and, in some ways, felt fortunate to be behind the computer screen rather than out in the field.
