Shalin has a valid point. There are a lot of ways that trainers and rangers capture and befriend Pokémon. She refers to befriend them herself. However, there are times when a Wild Pokémon may request to battle her to test her abilities as a trainer. Still, she is not used to watching trainers or rangers risk their lives on the spot trying to capture a Pokémon. To Airi, it seems that Shalin enjoys the rush that she gets from being a daredevil.

Airi narrows her eyes at the Rufflet landing on Queen Zing's head. She could feel her heartbeat starting to race just a bit. "R-Rufflet. Please do not make the Beedrill angry!" Airi attempts to warn the bird. Apparently, the Rufflet seems to be as stubborn as the Captain Ranger. Airi's deep blue eyes widens as she watches the Rufflet peck the Beedrill a few times. Airi immediately shielded her eyes from the loud buzzing noise escaping from the large Beedrill's wings. Bean stands in front of his trainer to use Protect to guard her from the loud and powerful vibrations.

"Fish it out with a fishing rod, huh?" Airi asks, placing her index finger underneath her small chin as she takes a moment to think over the student's words for a bit. "That's a brilliant idea! If there are some Grimer or Muk living inside of this water, then we should be able to fish them out... That's if I had a fishing rod..." She stated, a deep sigh escaping from her lips.

"Yeah, let's scout ahead. We might be able to find some clues around here somewhere," she smiles at Cass as the two of them start to explore their surroundings a little bit. "So, tell me... How long have you been a student?" She asks, sparking up a casual conversation between the two of them. Her deep ocean-blue orbs still scanning over her surroundings.

The water feels cool and refreshing against her sun-kissed skin as she dives deeper and deeper inside of the ocean. Her dainty arm stretching out to retrieve something winking at the blazing sun from above.

"Alright, Kite. Here we go again. Let's make it count!" Airi says to the Mantine as the two of them take off into the sea. Airi's deep blue eyes keeping an eye out for the perfect wave. Luckily, she doesn't have to wait too long for it to approach here. Primarina Twist to impress the crowd!

"I bet that was an honorable battle! I am sure it is one that you will never forget!" She smiles at him. "About how long did you take you to become a Champion, Josh? It had to be a pretty tough journey I would imagine," she adds, waiting patiently for his response. She wonders which Pokémon he used to fight against Ho-Oh.

"Struggle following the speed?" She asks him. She is not sure if he is preferring to his gym challenge or his Pokémon's swift movements in battle. She nods her head as listens to his recommendations. A weather theme gym could be quite difficult for a first timer. A fighting type gym may not be too bad, since she will know which types she will be facing off against in opposed to Josh's gym. "Lots of options," she giggles a bit, still undecided in regard to which gym she will choose to challenge first.

Airi almost jumps out of her skin at the sight of the crackling lightning striking not too far away from them. A warning would have been nice, that's for sure! Her deep azure eyes widen and blinks a couple of time as she takes in the sight of the legendary beast in front of her. "Whoa..." She continues to stare in awe. [break][break]

Airi soon feels someone or something colliding against her chest. She glances down to notice a small Dreepy taking shelter against her body with small tears falling from her eyes. "Aww, the lightning must have startled you, too. Don't worry. You're safe now," she smiles at the Dreepy, gently hugging her.

Airi's cold blue orbs glance up at the ethereal beings gliding above them. Perhaps, in a different world, Airi would describe them as mystical and beautiful. A cool sensation rushes down her spine as she notices the menacing creatures descending closer to them. She tries her best to distract herself from becoming captivated by their bewitching appearance.

The new details given to her by Navy seem to do the trick, as she shifts her attention away from the beings and then focuses them on the path ahead of them. It feels like her heart is starting to sink to the bottom of her stomach as she tries to digest the information her partner shared with her. She never imagined such fragile-looking creatures having the ability to cause so much pain and suffering to others. She can only hope and pray that Navy and herself do not meet their exact fate. "That is so heartbreaking. There has to be something that can be done, right?" She asks him, glancing over at him.

"As best I can," she responds to him. She could complain about struggling to breathe or being paranoid, but what good would it do? She does not want to appear weak or inept. She attempts to push those feelings away. However, she soon hears the terrifying voice ringing inside her ears. This time, the voice tells her that she is nothing more than her looks. She will never be more than a pretty face. Once her beauty fades, then she will be left with nothing more than a shattered heart and old bones. Airi glances down at her right hand, and for a second, it seems that her smooth skin is becoming wrinkly. She almost goes into a panicky mood but finds herself coming down for a moment when she hears a soothing sound being produced by Jade. Could it be? The cybrog antelope can sense her emotions.

Despite wiping out the last time, Airi returns back to the ocean. She stands tall and proud on top of Kite as she prepares to land the Primarina Twist. This time she will land it!

Her last dive gave her an incense. It was better than a Poke Ball, but still not anything too special in her eyes. She decides to take another graceful dive underneath the surface in hopes of finding an even rarer item than her last trip.

Airi's fair face turns bright red as she realizes her mistake. He is not a mayor, but the sheriff of Dewford Town. Luckily for her, her mistake does not offend Navy. In fact, he seems to make a little bit of a joke out of it. "Who knows, you might be one of the ones who could make a difference," she adds, shrugging her shoulders a bit. She hopes that the dark shadows around them are enough to hide her glowing face a bit.

Airi finds the quick pitstop to be somewhat comforting for the time being. The warm and welcoming smiles, along with the positive words of encouragement, revived her spirits just a bit. Unfortunately for her, it does not last much longer. A tightness in her chest returns, and she starts to feel the weight of the world settling down on her shoulders. She begins to hear an eerie and daunting voice singing within her sensitive ears. A dark lullaby about turning old and ugly before dying alone. She makes an attempt to counter those negative thoughts with positive ones. However, the chilling lullaby only becomes even louder, and it soon drowns out her positive words of affirmation.

The cracking gunshots agitate the otherworldly voice, causing it to free Airi from its spell. A swift gasp for air escapes from Airi's full lips as she comes back to herself. Her piecing azure eyes traced the path of the sturdy chain. Her serene blue eyes widen at the sight of the Sableye and its unnatural body. What in the hell? She asks herself, slightly disturbed by the image revealed to her beyond the shadows.

Airi hears the Sherriff's, but she is still a little shaken up by the ordeal with the Sableye. Her words soon find their way back to her, and she decides to question their previous encounter. "That Sableye back there... What caused it to turn that way?" She asks him, shifting her sapphire orbs towards him.

Airi and her Venusaur, Matcha, makes their way towards their next location. The Ranger Nurse has been assigned to team up with a student to help clean up any debris and pollutants threatening the environment. The mocha-haired young woman knows that Sea Mauville is not in the best condition at the time, but she did not expect to see endless number of debris shattered all over the place. Goodness, this will take a lot of time.

"Hi there! You are Cass, right? I'm Airi!" Airi greets the younger girl as a warm and friendly smile curls against the corners of her lips. Her deep azure eyes then shifting over towards the Trubbish, who seems to be enjoying a toxic snack. A couple of soft giggles escapes from her mouth as she takes in the adorable moment for a few seconds. "You know, that's pretty clever." She compliments her partner's decision to use her Poison-type Pokémon to help clear out some of the black sludge.

"If we can track down the source of the black sludge, it will help make our job a lot easier. It is not uncommon for Pokémon like Grimer or Muk to claim a place like this as their home," she explains to Cass. She then glances over at her Venusaur, signaling for him to use some of his vines to remove some of the debris from the water to help.
