As Rikiya walked down the area, he would grab his vape from his pockets. Within moments, the man was bellowing blueberry-scented smoke, the sound of the device resonating through the air as he inhaled from it. This would gain the attention of a Dedenne, who smelled the scent of blueberry in the air. But when she saw the human, as well as the Shinx riding on his shoulder, she immediately got nervous. Before Rikiya or his Shinx even knew she was there, she already ducked back into the bushes, wanting no part of that.

After a moment of thinking it over, the Plusle cheered out happily, tapping the Pokeball himself, and allowing himself to get sucked into the device. After three shakes, the mechanism let out its usual spark, giving them the signal that the Plusle was now his. Rikiya grinned happily, even though he wasn't sure what he was going to do with the little guy, aside from keep him as a pet.

He would turn to see the blonde having captured the Minun herself. When she made the offer to take the Plusle off his hands, he raised an eyebrow. But nevertheless, he figured that the two would be happier together, as opposed to being separated. "Um, sure?", he replied, clearly perplexed by the offer.

That was when a Togedemaru rolled out of the bushes, attracted to the scent of the vapor as well. Rikiya would look down at the rotund rodent, who smiled up at him, clearly sniffing for the pleasant aroma bellowed out by the trainer. Rikiya bellowed the smoke into his face, causing the Togedemaru to cheer upon being exposed to the cloud of blueberry-scented smoke. Rikiya would then offer the creature a treat, which it happily took.

Rikiya offered to pet the Togedemaru, holding out his hand for the round creature. After a moment, the Togedemaru leaned over to allow it, its quills lowered so the blue-haired man could safely pet the creature, who seemed to enjoy the affection.

"You wanna join me as well? I do like Electric-types.", Rikiya offered the Togedemaru.

The blue-haired man would turn to see a blonde walking with her Ampharos. As she asked about the presence of Electric-types in the area, he studied her for a moment. He knew the voice from somewhere, but her appearance didn't match what he knew of the voice. But then, it had been a couple of years, and if this really was her, he doubted she'd recognize him at all.

"Well, you're in the right place. Electric-types like to hang out around here, and if you're lucky, you should be able to find a Pikachu.", the blue-haired man would tell her calmly, taking another hit from his vape, blowing scanted smoke into the air casually.

And it seemed that the blonde was not the only one to come to Thomas. In particular, a Plusle and Minun duo would approach the two humans, and their Pokemon. The Plusle in particular would approach the blue-haired man, seemingly drawn in by the scent of the smoke he was bellowing.

"Um, you like that?", he'd ask the Plusle, who seemed to nod in confirmation. Rikiya would take a quick hit off the vape again, blowing smoke towards the Plusle, who seemed to be enjoying the scent. Rikiya would fish through a bag of treats, before pulling out one, and offering it to the Plusle. The Plusle took a moment to examine the treat, before eating it.

"You enjoy that?", Rikiya asked the Plusle, who nodded eagerly. "Well, there's more I could get you, if you come with me.", Rikiya told the Plusle, offering it a Pokeball.

It was now up to the electric rodent whether or not he'd join.

After a visit to a friend in Mauville, Rikiya Oshiro decided it was a good time to visit Route 118. Though he wasn't going to be getting very far at all, given the fact that the route was separated by water, he could at least take a breather. He could always head back home through the Rusturf Tunnel later. But for now, Rikiya would bring out his Shinx, who immediately hopped into his arms, and climbed onto his shoulder.

While looking out to the waters that divided the route, and by extension, separated Western and Eastern Hoenn, Rikiya would pull out a device from his pocket. After turning it on, he would take the device to his mouth, and begin inhaling. A loud sound would emit through the air, before he finished. A cloud of blueberry-scented smoke would fill the air of whoever would walk into the cloud.

It had been quite some time since Rikiya was able to get out into the wild. In fact, it had been about thirteen years since he was doing anything like this. The last time he captured a Pokemon, if you could call it that, was when he found a stray Shinx looking around for something to eat near his apartment complex. For some reason, he decided to give the thing some food, and it just stuck to him after that. The Shinx, now named Joule, was riding on the trainer's shoulder as he walked along the route.

Rikiya felt the need to look out for more Wild Pokemon to add to his little family. Given what was going on with Team Rocket, and how much of a target Devon Corp was to them, Rikiya knew he had to get his hands on all the protection he could get. And given this area of Hoenn had Electric-types, it was a quick sell for the Kanto Native.

  • Rikiya was born and raised in Saffron City, to parents who were both employed to Silph Co. as scientists in separate divisions. Rikiya, since a young age, was an intellectually gifted youth, albeit a massive troublemaker. Constantly getting into trouble for pulling pranks on his peers, as well as his teachers, but would not relent.
  • Went on to short journey through the Kanto Region at the age of eleven. His first Pokemon was an Elekid he was given as a gift by his parents before leaving. During this journey, he found and befriended a Pikachu, as well as having won a Porygon from a lucky streak at the Celadon Game Corner.
  • After his journey came to an end, he continued his studies, having found his passion in programming. Over time, his skill set expanded into hacking. His mischievous streak never came to an end, and to this day, acts out by performing prank calls, or other pranks to unsuspecting victims over the internet. After graduating from university in Hoenn, he got a job with Devon Corp, currently residing in Rustboro.
  • His parents made it out of Kanto safely during the past year, having taken up residence in the Kalos Region themselves. They are still in contact with their son, and despite his mischievous nature, are proud of what he's accomplished in life.
