Kyle hadn't held back in the final challenge. The carnage left by the Arcanine was clearly visible as the darkness faded away due to the lamps lighting up. Both the Alolan Meowth and the Mightyena laid on the ground, unmoving and defeated. As proof of his victory, the giant doors slowly opened themselves, letting the light from the room shine into the hall where Kyl and co. fought.[break][break]

A huge white/beige room, with no visible special features. It seemed like oval-shaped and there were no visible walls... Almost like it was extending forever. In what seemed to be the middle of the room was a throne of white stone. Sitting upon it was the Shaman King: Balder Schwartz. As the challenger entered the room, the man stood up, a smile upon his face.[break][break]

"Welcome to the Spirit Realm, challenger. Where you will be faced with your final trial: a battle against me. Since I know you like tag team battle, I decided to grant your wish: our fight will be limitted to 4 pokemons each and we can have 2 of them on the field at once. Be sure to expect some surprises during our fights though. Now... Keigo, Jaws, step forward."[break][break]

From behind the throne, a Blaziken and a Feraligatr emerged, walking slowly to stand besides the Gym Leader, their arms crossed upon their chest. Balder removed the cloth covering him, revealing his bare chest with multiple markings upon it. "You get to make the first move Kyle. Choose wisely however, for I'm not going to hold back."[break][break]

Failure. Riding Solgaleo to escape the beam didn't end up to be a good idea. At this rate, both of them would die. While this could be a dream, the chances of being a reality were still there. As Leo leaped in the air, Balder slidded off the lion's back, surprising the godly creature. With a soft smile, the man looked at his ally. "If I stayed there, I'd only slow you down. Live on, fight on. And win." Upon finishing his words, the Hyper Beam struck, starting to erase Balder from existence. The pain was intense, but the man held strong. Emitting any sound would hinder the divine creature from performing its duty.[break][break]

The beam continued it's run, striking Leo. The lion roared, not only of pain but also of emotional distress from losing his companion. Yet... Maybe it was sheer luck, but the creature emerged from the beam, still alive. As soon as it emerged, Solgaleo began to use Morning Sun, letting the fading light of the sun heal his wounds as best as possible. As anger started to well in the creature's heart, the beast heard what cadis von klaussner said about the man he had chosen had his avatar. He glared at the man who dared to defile the Alolan Avenger's memory... Even though he might not be actually dead.[break][break]

Yet he didn't act on it. It would be a waste of time to place his anger on the puny human that used a Ditto to adopt his radiance. No, the true enemy was that Hoopa. And the hoops that were going around to try and slice people in half. In response, it seems like FERNANDO SILPH decided to bring out the power of Alola through Tapu Fini, unleashing a massive guardian that aimed to strike the foe. Leo took this as a signal, meant to say that it was time to go all out. The creature's mane and fur started to change hue, shining a bright gold. The lion roared, its biggest roar yet, releasing its full power. Suddenly, fissures appeared in the sky around hoopa, in front of some pokemons that were doing ranged attack against the monster as well as near FERNANDO SILPH and @natsuki . Portals, meant to allow attacks and people to go through to allow escape from the hoops and directing their attacks directly at Hoopa.[break][break]

A power he hadn't used to save his Avatar. The lion couldn't help but curse itself for keeping this power hidden until now. But now, it served a purpose. The creature lunged forward, entering a portal and exiting through another one, gaining more speed, he hardened the fur on his body and made it shine with the radiance of the sun. Opening a final portal over the Hoopa's body, Solgaleo emerged from it, hoping to deliver a point-blank Sunsteel Strike[break]

Tl;dr because abroad: Balder is sad that his pokemons died during the elevator lift, but still convinced this is all a dream. As they reach the top, sees his leg floating beside hoope and says "That's my f***ing leg, you bastard!". Chaos ensues, people try to avoid attacks and such, followed by a gargantuan monster firing an hyper beam at them. Balder throws a pokeball at his foot, summoning Solgaleo under him. With the dolar lion, attempts to escape from the hyper beam

The shield had worked at first, blocking a massive earthquake generated from the Ursaring. But that dragon, seeing his assault partially fail, rushed Nuts and delivered a flurry of attacks, thanks to Play Rough. If it wasn't for the Leech Seed... It's possible Nuts would've fallen right there. That bear was definitely too dangerous to be allowed to run amok any longer.[break][break]

As everyone began to attack, the bear took a huge tree in its arms, ready to use it like a baseball bat. If they weren't going to find a way to make him drop it, they might end up defeated on the next hit. Things were definitely getting dangerous, and desperate. But... there was only one possible way out of this.[break][break]

"NUTS, AIM FOR HIS ARMS!" The Chesnaught, still reeling from the merciless assault he had just received, shook his head to recover his senses. Hearing his master's order, the juggernaught began stepping forward before running. Getting close to the bear, Nuts jumped in the air and brought his hands together, forming something similar to an hammer. As gravity did its job to bring him back down towards the bear, the grass pokemon brought his arms down, using Hammer Arm on Ursaring's arms and hopefully making him drop the tree.

As soon as they entered the elevator, Solgaleo was forced back into its pokeball, making a surprised Balder fall towards the ground. Luckily, Kyle came to help him inside. "Thanks for the assist, Kyle. And no need for a med kit, I should be fine." As Kyle lets go of him, the man jumps until he reaches the corner of the elevator, putting his back against it to help him stay up. He looked at where his lost leg previously was, relatively surprised that the cotton he had grabbed was actually doing its job.[break][break]

And then, chaos ensued. A death game between the 3 elevators, a gigantic Groudon from the legends surged from the abyss and everyone summoning their pokemons, floating in the void surrounding them. Something completely unreal, and some pokemons seemed disturbed about it, yet others adapted to it quite quickly.[break][break]

As the chaos happened, Balder analysed the actions of those in his elevators. Some tried to force the elevator up, protect it or even assault the Groudon. Some others rushed for the chains of the other elevators. While Balder wasn't really keen on this idea, he couldn't help but agree this was the ideal way to attain survival. Then, the guy who helped them against the monstrous Ursaring proceeded to use the move "Spotlight" on the chain on one of the elevator, forcing some attacks towards it. Sully not your hands, but those of others huh...[break][break]

Then, Fernando proceeded forward. In the same bashful attitude that Balder knew of him, the man took charge, sending most of his pokemons out and began a full out assault. But then, FERNANDO SILPH also said words that Balder didn't expect to hear. "Not the shadow's dream, but lured here". "Wait, Fernando, did you...?" Balder stopped in what he was gonna say, thinking back to everything he saw. The tentacles, the black figure getting dragged away into the shadow, the picture frames with claw marks...[break][break]

A nightmare, a trap. Not meant for them per se, but they were called here to help, as the black figure had requested. But if it was all a nightmare, or dream depending on the viewpoint... That would explain why the tentacles crushed and ripped his leg so easily, and held Leo down so much. "If your words are right, Fernando, then all of this would be a trap meant for that Shadow, most likely Darkrai from the legends of Sinnoh. And we were brought here, by mistake or to try and free him. A race against the clock..."[break][break]

Balder called forth two of his pokemons: Ash the Typhlosion and Jaws the Feraligatr. Afterwards, he raised his voice, trying to be loud enough for all the elevators to hear him. "Everyone, this is a nightmare. But it's not real. None of it. We'll wake up from it and have no wounds out of it. And no lost limbs for some of us. If you're not satisfied, feel free to come hit me at the silver spire when we'll be out of here. Now we gotta save the guy who called us here."[break][break]

Jaws and Ash both looked back at their master, wondering what he was on about. The alolan avenger sighed and raised his head. "Now, our elevator needs to reach the top. To have the biggest attacking team and avoid as much casualties as possible. So... Sorry for the other two elevators. I'll buy you a drink to compensate. Ash, Eruption on the chains. Jaws, Ice Fang on them when they are red hot." Both Typhlosion and Feraligatr roared at the same time. Ash began to release the strongest flames she could, unleashing them at the chain of the Jock elevator, thanks to the Spotlight. As the chains became a vivid red, Feraligatr rushed forward, flying between the pokemons. Opening his maw, now covered in ice, he closed it upon the burning chain areas, releasing all the ice power he had accumulated. With some luck, this would make breaking the chains easier.

The assault had worked. At what cost however? Some of the other people's pokemon had fallen, some even turning into zombies themselves. Yet because of the success and killing most of the zombies, the team were able to open the gate and allow everyone to seek refuge inside. As the gate had opened, Balder called back Ash, Terra and Tyr into their pokeball and directed Leo towards the open gate.[break][break]

Once the gate close, the alolan man looked at the eerie place. A bunch of Soul-less chandelure floated about and a portrait featuring the emissary of the shadows, Darkrai, stood at one end of the room. Yet, that frame had some slashes across it. Which was... Odd. What could've done such marks? The other odd part was the 3 elevators and the phrase that came with it.[break][break]

Stereotypes do hail from ill truth. That's how a lot of rumors about anyone tended to start: Have an etiquette placed upon you and then it explodes. In this case... It was like they were asked which etiquette they wished to bear, and if they were willing to endure it. Abide to the etiquette of what you are, or choose your fate and be what you want. Or could it say which challenge you'd face once you step in? Balder decided to test his luck. First, he removed his shirt and tied it up over his wound, holding the cotton spore close and making sure blood doesn't leak through. And then, he led Leo to the elevator meant for The Nerd

Surprisingly, the tentacles were holding out. Even worse, they kept piling on each other. For each of them that Balder ripped off and Solgaleo burned, there seemed to be two more of them appearing. Balder, seeing the tentacles trying to drag the legendary lion into the soil, freed his arms to grab his pokeballs, allowing two pokemons to emerge: Terra the Torterra and Ash the Typhlosion. The two pokemons turned to go help their trainers, but stopped soon as they saw his face.[break][break]

"Don't worry about me guys. Go help Leo. The tentacles seem to be attracted to our essence or something." Terra nodded and turned around, starting to cast Leaf Storm on the tentacles that held Solgaleo, but Ash shook her head and started clawings at the tentacles wrapping themselves around Balder's chest, slowly getting tighter around him. "Ash, stop being so stubborn and listen to me! If we lose Leo now, the world is gonna lose another protector, and we can't have that! So go help Terra and free him. I'll handle myself."[break][break]

Saddened by the refusal from his trainer, the creature turned around and used Eruption upon the tentacles, slowly freeing the Lion out. As for Balder, he kept on ripping tentacles off from him... Until they all moved to one of his legs and constricted themselves instantly, crushing his leg. Balder's eyes grew wide and he was about to let out a scream of pain, yet he held back. Were he to let out any sound now, his pokemons would abandon Leo and focus on him.[break][break]

The tentacles kept on getting tighter and tighter, crushing his bones even more. All the while pulling on it too. Tired of this and wanting to get out of this alive, he pulled a third pokeball, summoning his dinosaur: Tyr the Tyrantrum. The Alolan Avenger pointed his leg and said a single word. "Crunch." Understanding the situation, Tyr nodded and opened his gigantic maw before closing it upon the tentacles and Balder's leg, chopping it off. As soon as the limb was severed, the man fell on the ground, letting out the scream of pain he had been holding back all along. [break][break]

Typhlosion grew livid and stopped her flames as she heard her master's voice. Seeing his status, she hurriedly grabbed what seemed to be cotton floating around and began to place it on Balder's wound. As leo was now freed, he went beside Balder and both he and Tyrantrum lifted the man up to have him ride on the solar lion.[break][break]

As the team followed the others to exit this location, Balder kept quiet, holding the cotton against the "flesh wound", as a certain man would say. How could the tentacles crush his body now that he had gained more resistance from his avatar powers? This seemed more and more like a nightmare. As the Castle came in view and everyone began to move to either stop the zombies or assault the gate, Balder analysed as much as he could, the pain dulling his focus somewhat. With a somewhat shaky hand, he pointed the horde of zombies.[break][break]

"Ash, Terra. Combo attack. Eruption and Leaf Storm." The two creatures nodded. Terra launched his leaf storm first and Ash soon followed with her Eruption, setting the leaves ablaze to spread the flames as far as possible. Hopefully, this would help get rid of them. As for Tyr and Leo, they stayed back to protect their trainer.[break][break]

So the man had selected the hardest room out of all 4. As expected from Mateo. That also meant that all the preparations would not be wasted. As the challenger declared which door he had selected, the door of Tapu Bulu slide open, allowing entrance to the member of the Elite Four. Behind the door was a long corridor, barely lit by the torches on the walls.[break][break]

Following the tunnel, the man would arrive in a long and wide room covered with multiple torches, pits, flame pillars etc. At the end of the room, before the great gate that would grant access to the next challenge, stood 3 pokemons alongside their totems: Blaziken and the Rooster totem, Heatmor and the AntEater totem, and Braixen beside the Fox totem.[break][break]

As the challenger entered the room, the 3 pokemons moved from their current position, moving to spots where they Not be hit by any other pokemons. All of them focused their flames at specific locations, making the dungeon even harder. And without being able to defeat the other pokemons, Mateo may very well be unable to continue further. Only time and luck will tell.

OOC:Challenge 2: No wild pokemons. Flying doesn't prevent you from the rolls. This one will be different from usual. You have 3 requirements: 1. Post of minimum 300 words where you and your team avoid all the flaming attacks and obstacles. 2. Your post must include 5 terms related to fire. 3. This is what's special. For this round, you have to roll 3 times and calculate the total. Once the total has been calculated, the following effects will happen:[break]

Terra, the new recruit, had been patrolling the grasslands for a while now. While not a lot of berries were growing, mainly due to Balder's lack of time and commitment to it, the location still needed to be safe guarded. Nonetheless, there had been nothing special happening of late. No attacks, no rampages or unexpected visitors.[break][break]

... Until now. Galloping sounds and the smell of burnt grass attracted the attention of the tortoise that was resting within the garden. Emerging from the soil as he pondered what could be happening, the turtle noticed a rambunctious Ponyta heading his way. Knowing that his master was away for now and unable to assist, Terra decide he would show his worth and stop the horse in its track.[break][break]

The torterra moved forward, positioning itself a fair distance from the garden, and directly in the fire horse's path. After waiting for the assailant to get closer, Terra slammed the ground with his front legs, unleashing the move Earthquake. Doing so shattered the ground under the Ponyta, stopping him in his track and causing him to fall on the ground. As he fell, Terra used Giga Drain to try and sap all the energy he had left.[break][break]

Suddenly, a pokeball sliced through the air, landing on the horse's forehead. "Well done Terra. You were quite proactive for this one." Balder dropped a gentle hand on the surprised turtle's head and patted it gently before claiming the pokeball he had thrown. Hopefully he had acquired a horse pokemon for his totem gym now.[break][break]

As Balder placed himself beside Stormy, the lady stood up and proceeded to drag him close, surprising the Alolan man. She then slipped a bunch of Pokedollars into his front pants, asking for a lap dance. Balder didn't react for 5 seconds, blushing even, before laughing. "Oh so that's what you guys are doing. Truth or dare. Alright then, I'll play your game, but I need to get ready."[break][break]

As he said that, he removed the pokedollars from his pants and returned to where he placed the alcohol barrels. He then lifted one and started to drink directly (Obviously, without having his mouth touch it cause it'd be unsanitary). After having a good amount of drink, the Alolan Gym Leader placed the barrel back on the table. He then pulled out his Pokephone (Let's call it that for convenience sake) and started a certain song. "Alright fellas. Those of you that don't like things too... heated I guess? I'd suggest closing your eyes or exiting the room for now."[break][break]

The man started to stretch before removing the robe that covering him, revealing his bare chest. Using his avatar powers, he proceeded to emit a slight shimmer around his muscles, as if they had been oiled up and sparkle slightly under the light. He then proceeded to go back towards Stormy, a wicked smile upon his face. She wanted a lap dance? She was going to get served.[break][break]

Getting close to her, he moved her hair away from her face and gently ran his fingers on her neck. Balder then proceeded on going behind her, grabbing a chair and placing it under the lady as he grabbed her shoulders gently and pushed her downwards to have her sit. As the Totem leader returned before her, his back turned towards her, he dropped to the ground and began sliding backwards, presenting his posterior to her.[break][break]

As Balder got close to her again, he sprung back up and turned to face her. Now standing in front of her, he unziped his pants and brought them down, revealing red and white briefs. As soon as the pants were off and the alcohol really started to kick in, Balder began the full-on contact lap dance, learned from an Alolan tradition.[break][break]

Now, it was only matter to see what Stormy's reaction would be. The man was sweating now, and blushing slightly. And somewhat embarrassed of having done that in front of everyone, but that's not something he regretted. He did hope that had been enough to fulfill what she wanted.

"Sorry I'm late to the party guys, the barrels were harder to find then expected." A man, wearing a long white robe, a black mane for hair and an headband with two Braviary feathers stuck into it, arrived on the scene, holding one barrel on a shoulder and the other under his other arm. Behind him, a big lion was pulling a cart with multiple barrels on them. "Thanks for the assist, Leo. I'll continue from here."[break][break]

The lion nodded before getting returned to his pokeball. Balder dropped the barrels near the group that seemed to be playing games. "Feel free to serve yourselves everyone. I brought Rhum, Beer, Cider and some more." The man grabbed some of the barrels in the cart and brought them inside so that people can go and serve themselves. He also placed some reusable cups beside the barrels so that people can grab their drinks without having their personal glasses.[break][break]

After everything is done, he returns to the group where he noticed Stormy, who was now Blonde it seems, and went beside her before asking as question. "So what have you been up to? Some horror games or the likes I hope? With such a nice environment, surely you guys wouldn't miss the opportunity for a game of courage or something, right?"

The two pokemons were brilliantly defeated by the elite four member Kyle. Using the sky to his advantage to have lightning strike repeatedly upon the two flying creatures, quite a wise plan. And now, he simply had to climb the stairs that led to the top of the massive tower. A spiralling stair, going around the tower from the exterior...[break][break]

Or is it? As Braviary's defeat was confirmed from one of the attendants in the area, a secret door opened at the bottom of the stairs, revealing... an elevator! An easy way to the top, without the challenge of climbing all the stairs. It would provide a small respite to the trainer as he made his way to the final challenge.[break][break]

No matter the way he had selected to reach the top, he would arrive in a room covered in darkness. It was extremely hard to see 2 meters in front of him. The only thing that could be seen in the distance was a massive gate with some small torches surrounding it, and the totem beside it. Barely lit, it seemed like the totem represented a sort of cat, but it was hard to confirm it.[break][break]

Tentacles... Why did these things had a similar sensation to something he had lived in the past? Yet, Balder didn't recall any interactions with tentacles ever since he came to Hoenn... Maybe it happened while he was drunk then? Still, this was not the time for reminiscing. Lots of people from the group got ensared, including himself and Leo. A creature emerged from the darkness, seemingly the origin of all their problems.[break][break]

Seeing no purpose in continuing to exude light from his palms, Balder stopped the phenomenon and turned his head towards the lion beside him. "Quite the predicament heh? Mind heating things up with your hottest flames, Leo? And focus on the creature, I'll free myself." The Solgaleo nodded before emitting an intense roar. As the metallic lion roared, flames erupted from his mane, covering his entire body and eating at the tentacles.[break][break]

Assuming that they would retract or burn off, the legendary creature would charge towards the horror that had ensnared everyone. As the representative of the Sun possibly made its way to the creature, the flames it created would spread to other tentacles, possibly helping Emma Wolfe , Laurence Anderson and anyone else near them.[break][break]

As for Balder... He never had tested the limit of the strenght that his partner had granted him, and he hoped this would be more then enough to rip those tentacles off him. The man closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths, trying to summon all the power inside him. As he did, a faint glow began to surround his body, as if the power of light was responding to his attempt. The Alolan gym leader grasped at some tentacles and started pulling them in the direction opposite of where they came from, hopefully ripping this off. If this had succeeded, he would proceed on ripping other tentacles on himself.[break]

The assault began. While Stormy did the first offensive move, a new helper appeared with a Gallade, jumping right in with a Close Combat. Confused, Balder looked behind them, noticing that the girl that had come with them up until now had simply vanished. Had she ran away in fear or something? Can't exactly blame her, to have prioritized her life in a situation such as this. But at least, someone joined them rapidly.[break][break]

As they attracted the attention of the hungry bear, the Ursaring responded with a Belly Drum. A mover that, while sacrificing a part of his hp, allows to boost the attack to the maximum. And with that monster of a bear? It was bound to be deadly. Plus, it kept on feeding itself, possibly healing itself in the process. This might end up being a tougher fight then expected.[break][break]

While the new arrival cheered them up as he pressed on the assault, Thomas responded that Balder was possibly right, but that they should still act under the assumption that the creature retained his normal variant's capabilities. The Alolan Gym Leader almost wanted to put another comment, but it was useless at this point. Bickering at this point would simply hinder their battle capacities, it was best to simply focus on the fight.[break][break]

While Stormy's Marowak and Thomas' Scizors went to assault the bear and cut his supplies of berry, Balder observed the monster's movement. Surely after this assault, the gargantuan ursaring would focus his attention on them and start an onslaught. Balder looked behind to talk to Stormy. "Have your Marowak retreat behind Nuts, the Ursaring should be getting ready to assault us now."[break][break]

Nuts the Chesnaught roared and was about to charge in too, without his trainer's accord. Balder noticed his partner move and whistled right away. "Nuts, set up your shield, we'll counter afterwards. We need to reduce the target's offensive power." With a grunt, the Chesnaught stood his ground and fused his arms together to form a shield about as big as him. Were the bear to attack him physically, he would be met with hardened spikes.

The man had somewhat forgotten how he had reached his bed. Maybe he had drunk too much, or he had been too tired, but he could barely remember having fallen asleep on his bed. What he did remember though was the feeling of electricity, sparks caressing his revealed skin. As he felt that strange sensation, the gym leader got on his feet, observing where he was.[break][break]

"Where the hell are we?" Most likely, that was on everyone's mind. Because he wasn't alone. Many lost souls seemed to have suffered the same fate that he did. Some faces, he recognized. Others, not so much. Hell, one of them was even in simple boxers, so it showed that they had been caught unaware. Balder looked at himself and noticed that, thankfully, he still had his pants on. And some pokeballs attached to his belt. He could identify 3 of them on the spot, but the other 3... He wasn't sure which pokemon had tagged along.[break][break]

The Alolan Avenger grabbed one of the pokeballs, which featured the engravings of the sun upon it. Throwing it in the air, Balder Summoned Leo, the legendary Solgaleo, to the field. Seeing how Kyle and a few others had lit up their respective areas, Balder decided to move more towards cait alfric . Using his bonds with the Sunne Pokemon, Balder raised his arms and released light from his palms, directing it near cadis von klaussner and @altmight . As he stood near the grass gym leader and her Venusaur, the young man looked behind him, towards his Solgaleo.[break][break]

"Care to assist me, Leo? I don't think I'll be able to light this forest up by myself." The envoy of the Sun nodded before doing the move Morning Sun, making his metallic fur shine somewhat brightly. Doing so helped make a small halo of light nearby, lighting the place up a bit more and, hopefully, revealing what kind of location they were in.
