Abruptly Siren jumped, almost flinging Adam off of her as he was climbing up. ”Arceus, fuck!” He cursed, regaining his balance as Siren calmed down. ”What was that about?” What Adam hadn’t noticed was a rather testy Charmeleon who had fired an attack at Siren. Adam smiled, what a cheeky little shit thinking it can step up to Siren.

”Do you want to deal with this?” He stepped away from the dragon, smirking at the clearly annoyed look on her face. They both knew that she would annihilate this little fire lizard, the only one that didn’t know was the lizard itself.

The Charmeleon let out a roar, spewing flames from its mouth. Siren clearly wasn’t impressed with the display and the Charmeleon took offense to that, firing off a Dragon Rage at the Noivern. The attack was easily destroyed by Siren’s Air Slash, the move going through the Dragon Rage and hitting the Charmeleon.

”Huh well look at that, didn’t expect it to get back up.” Adam scoffed as the fire type got back up. Pissed, the fiery iguana used Inferno which was a surprise to Adam as it was a strong move he didn’t see coming.

Siren flew up in the air, barely avoiding the flames, and countering back with a Hurricane attack. And while the Charmeleon might have been tougher than Adam thought it wasn’t getting back up after taking one of those to the chest.

”Alright and let’s wrap this up in a nice bow.” Adam threw an empty pokeball at the Charmeleon in an attempt to capture it. With this fiasco over with they could get out of here and go relax.

With that distraction out of the way it was time to get moving. ”Let’s make our way to Mauville, check out the shops and see if we can find something nice.” Adam spoke, turning around to head over to his Noivern. ”Hmm?!” Siren was rustling about, biting at something that was out of Adam’s sight.

”What’s wrong, girl?” He rushed over to his Noivern to see that there was a Torracat clawing at one of the bags strapped to Siren. Adam laughed at the sight as Siren spun around to try and catch the little feline. ”Let’s just give him what he wants.” He said, knowing what was in that bag.

Sire stopped moving about after creating some space between her and the Torracat. While she just wanted to blast the annoying fire type she heeded her trainer’s words and waited. ”Here’s what you want~” Adam pulled out a bag of snacks, walking over to the Torracat and giving the Pokémon some.

”Alright there ya go little buddy.” He’d wave the cat off as it wandered on. ”Now let’s get moving.” As he was about to hop onto the dragon’s back he looked up to the skies. ”Glad we decided to go for a fly. It’s been blue skies all day! Not a problem in sight.”

Adam took a few steps away from Siren, stretching out his arms as he did so. ”I think we’re near Mauville.” He stated, looking in the direction where the city would lie. ”Huh?” The sandy ground beneath his feet began to shift, Adam’s body beginning to rise up.

He hopped back to avoid losing his balance and landing on his ass, watching as something rose from the ground. A smile grew on his face as it was revealed that he had been standing on top of a Camerupt that was taking a nap beneath the sand.

”Sorry for waking you up big guy.” Adam apologized. The Pokémon let out an annoyed grunt and wandered off.

”You did good up there, girl.” Adam cooed, petting his Noivern lovingly. The two had just recently landed, having just finished a flight in which they were practicing specific maneuvers. Trick flying was definitely a favorite pastime of Adam’s and Siren enjoyed it too though recently they hadn’t put much time aside to practice.

Did they do compete in any sort of competitions? No they didn’t but they enjoyed it nonetheless. ”Wonder where we landed.” Adam looked around, what route was this? Oh well, it didn’t matter much. They’d relax for a bit before they started moving to the next place.

Well seeing as they couldn’t find anything and they have at this point been running around in circles, Adam figured it was time to call it quits. They would just chalk it up to people just being paranoid or kids starting a silly story.

And they were still going to get paid for all of this right? Then this was going to be one of Adam’s easiest paydays of his life, all missions should be like this! That was where his mind went but there was something about this entire situation that he couldn’t help but feel like was off.

”Alright well we tried!” Adam shrugged, his two Pokémon giving each other a concerned look in response. ”Let’s get out of here and head home! Easy job, right?” And with one step he stopped, hearing someone call out to him. It was Illeana, his partner for this job who had also apparently hadn’t any luck finding anything of substance.

”Nah, didn’t find anything.” Adam shook his head. ”But hey at least we tried right? No shame in not finding anything! I’m sure they’ll understand. So let’s skedaddle.” He laughed everything off and then proceeded to head out yet again.

An icy gust of wind would suddenly blow through, soaring past both of the leaguers sending a ghastly chill down their spines. The wind would draw attention to a nearby dark alley and while nothing was there but the side street and buildings something about it almost felt alive.

And despite not wanting to look Adam couldn’t help but stare, not sure where this feeling of dread was coming from nor why he couldn’t look away. ”Red or Blue?” A disembodied voice asked, calling out from the alley in front of them. ”Please tell me you heard that?!” He’d ask not only his partner but his Pokémon as well.

”Soul see if you can up on any aura’s down in this alley.” The Lucario nodded as he heard Adam given this aura. Even with the Pokémon checking for auras he couldn’t find anything which was definitely rose all sorts of red flags. ”Man this is just getting worse.” Adam sighed, before turning to Illeana. ”Do you think we should answer that?”

His little calm walk had only been interrupted by Pokémon that were peaceful and minding their own business. That’s why the next time he stopped he was incredible confused by what he was looking at. It was as if he stopped onto the set of some super hero show.

A Pikachu was defending some baby Pokémon from a group of rather hungry looking predators. ”Now these numbers just aren’t fair.” Adam shook his head, releasing his Lucario and Garchomp to help out. ”Alright boys let’s even up the numbers, help our mouse friend out.” The two Pokémon nodded and jumped into the fray.

At first, the Pikachu was on edge but quickly realized the two new Pokémon were on his side. With the three of them working together the fight didn’t take too long. After the fight was done with and the civilians were safe the Pikachu exchanged handshakes with the Lucario and Garchomp.

”Alright there little buddy you be careful!” Adam said, crouching down and giving the Pikachu a handshake of his own. ”Got serious guts, I admire that.” He smiled before standing upright and walking off, waving goodbye to the Pikachu.

Before he could get too far he was stopped by the Pikachu. Now Adam couldn’t speak perfect pika but he could tell when someone was saying they wanted to come along.

”Alright then! I’d love to have you aboard!” He smiled, pulling out an empty capsule which one be the Pikachu’s new home.

”I think he just wants to kill me just cause but okay.” Adam was well aware how dragons could and can act, especially given he has multiple on his current team and has raised them in the past.

The reason why this dragon in particular kept Adam on his toes was ever since this big shit was a little shit he was tries to eat him. And now that he was big enough to do it and then some Adam wasn’t trying to be a meal. One of these days he’d just fight the dragon and teach it a lesson but not now.

Soul was playing along as well as the Lucario could especially since that he wasn’t even sure what they were doing exactly. There were no rehearsals or plans so they were just winging everything. And given that his trainer was currently distracted with other things the Lucario just shrugged to himself and continued to play fight with the Hydreigon.

Often the Lucario got pulled into Adam’s shenanigans, even when he was a wee Riolu. The Aura Pokémon likes to act as he hates it but honestly, he enjoys the fun and hilarity that comes from their misadventures.

Adam couldn’t even respond to the girl before he saw that look on her face. ”Oh jeez.” The silver-haired man sighed, a bit of a smile popping up on his face afterward. He complained but he enjoyed the girl’s enthusiasm. Whatever came of it was usually either funny or at least entertaining, even if it sometimes came at Adam’s expense.

He blinked as she summoned the rest of her so-called ‘army’. Soul joined Adam’s side and watched as this army appeared, the two looking at each other with a bit of worry in their faces. The crowd was enjoying the show however so Adam figured at least that was a plus….right?

If this was anyone else and in any other situation then Adam would be worried about this display of might. ”That’s sort of arrogant thinking will be your downfall, fiend!” Adam shouted back, pointing his sword towards this evil dragon queen.

”I will stop your reign of terror with one fatal blow. PREPARE YOURSELF YOU DE- wait what?” He stopped, giving her a confused looked. ”A proposition? Fine I shall let you make your proposition as your last words!”

”Ya know I outta really double check the missions I take.”

Adam rubbed the back of his neck as he and two of his Pokémon, his Arcanine and Lucario, walked through the streets of Lillycove. They were assigned to some sort of investigation? Or maybe it was a search and rescue job? Either way, they were assigned to check out this part of the city because some sort of strange crap was happening.

Why didn’t they just call the local authorities? Well because in the event that this was nothing more than a waste of time the cops didn’t have to waste theirs. It was better some other dope that wasn’t on the cities payroll to check it out.

This was all a pretty comforting thought process but it was typical, at least in Adam’s experience it was. ”Either of you pick anything up yet?” He’d ask his canines. They’d be more than able to find whoever the culprit was if there was any to be found, but unfortunately, nothing to be found as of yet.

”This is most definitely the place, let’s keep looking around. We’ll find it eventually….I hope.” Maybe it was better that they didn’t find any spooky scary monsters.

Adam managed to happen upon another Pokémon from his home region. Now these little suckers were annoying as hell.

They enjoyed drifting along with the winds so often they’d find themselves flying straight into people and Adam was definitely a victim of their habit. That’s why he was careful to make sure this one didn’t fly in his face. With that potential accident out of the way, the man kept moving.

The first Pokémon that Adam managed to come upon was a cute little Flaaffy. Back home Flaaffy was one of the Pokémon that Adam was surrounded by; there were a lot on the farm.

Seeing the Pokémon made him smile but this little one wouldn’t be a choice for his team. He pet the little sheep and continued on his way.

This was nothing more than a simple outing to relax and maybe find and capture some new members of the team. Adam wasn’t hurting or anything but he could use for some more hands to make jobs easier.

That and it had been a while since he last just took himself and his team out for something as mundane as a walk. And he picked a perfectly normal and boring place to do so.
