Seeing the newly changed Swampert Blaine almost immediately forgot about the weird theatrics that went along with the sudden change in the Swampert. He had never seen or even heard of mega evolution before so this random change in Swampert was something that was completely new to him. "Wait so like was that cause you were screaming for no reason or something?" Blaine was so surprised by what happened he was dropping his guard and being more casual then he normally would with a random screaming beach man.[break][break]

With a nod of his head up at his Garchomp Blaine instructed the dragon to fly back over to him, if the weird man with his new swole Swampert said they had this then he was gonna give them a shot. "No but for real how'd you do that, can my Garchomp get beefy like that?" The Wailord situation was honestly in the very back of his mind now this new thing was a lot more important.

If the random swampert being sent out was enough to confuse him then the guy starting to scream at the top of his lungs was definitely enough to literally stop Blaine in his tracks. Not only did the detective stop what he was doing but the Garchomp even came to a halt mid air, a few inches away from the Wailord it was trying to force back into the water. Even the Wailord that was getting slammed into shifted its gaze to look at the screaming trainer, several other onlookers that were there to help the efforts also stopped and stared. [break][break]

"Hey uhh what the fuck?' Blaine asked still completely confused until the man's Swampert began to glow white and its form seemed to start to change. "No for real what the fuck." He added this time the question sounded less like it came from a place of confusion and more genuinely interested. He had no idea at all why the Swampert was glowing.

Blaine was completely caught off guard by a random guy sending out a Swampert near him but if he had a plan then who was he to judge. "So you just gonna like..swim them back in or something?" He blurted out since the dude didn't say what was going on, guess it was time to go with one of his own ideas. Looking back at his Garchomp the detective nodded his head, he had already mentioned the plan of just ramming into the Wailords on the wya over here. [break][break]

Stomping its foot on the ground Garchomp leapt up and took to the skies, flying around in a few circles to build up as much speed as possible before slamming into a Wailord full force. The slam managing to budge the wailord a few inches! If Blaine kept this up he might actually have one of the whales back into the water by next Tuesday.

Now that Blaine was taking a more active role with his detective work and helping out with ranger missions he needed to work on his pokemon team a bit more. While he had a couple decent battlers on his team he still had an empty spot that could be filled. As well as a few more pokemon that could use some battling experience, slowpoke was still kind of new to fighting and magnezone was a recent capture that he really hadn't tried battling alongside as of yet. [break][break]

Having decided to go out and find himself another pokemon Blaine made his way into the Fiery path, wearing a black tank top and a pair of shorts. If it was called the fiery path the place would more then likely be pretty hot. Normally the man wasn't too big of a fan of hot temperatures, he'd rather be somewhere covered in snow right now, but well the fiery path was probably the best place to find some fiery pokemon.[break][break]

For now Blaine simply walked along the path in search of pokemon, all his pokemon put away already due to the heat.

While Blaine mostly did his own private detective work he was still technically a ranger and able to go one missions for them when they needed extra help. Something like random wild wailords being beached on the shores of the city seemed like the kind of thing that anyone would need some extra assistance with. Having decided to help out Blaine flew from Mauville city over to Lilycove on the back of his Garchomp. For something without large wings the dragon was really fast.[break][break]

Even from up in the air at a distance the detective was able to see the insanely large Pokemon laying on the beach, this was gonna be incredibly hard to accomplish. As he landed on the beach and slid off of Garchomp the detective's mind was already racing with small ideas to try to help get the wailords back in the water. Could slowpoke move them with psychic or was that too much for the little thing? Maybe if Garchomp went at full speed it could knock them back into the water with a few hits?[break][break]

For now though Blaine simply stood on the beach in a pair of jeans and a bright orange shirt, his hands tucked into his pockets while his mind raced for ideas.

"Yeah I picked it out myself." Blaine blurted out in response to the woman saying it was a nice name, just a little corny joke to try to keep the mood light. Sure it was kind of unprofessional to toss out random jokes when meeting a client but with how paranoid she seemed to be he wanted to take any step he could to try to make this a more friendly environment for her. If he wanted her to trust him it was probably best to be friendly and start being a bit more casual.[break][break]

As the two walked along Blaine would occasionally glance off to their sides, not turning his head much to actually make it noticeable that he was looking around. The man had gotten used to being all covert and sneaky so this wasn't too much of a task. There were no more doubts in his mind he was going to take Stormy's case completely seriously just based on her mannerisms.[break][break]

"Its nice to meet ya Stormy, shame it couldn't be under better circumstances though." He managed to blurt out before she went ahead and got along with the details for being here. He genuinely meant those words too she seemed kind of nice so far, probably would of made a good friend. While she got into the details about what turned out to be a kidnapping the man's eyes widened for a moment before regaining his composure. This definitely was something serious.[break][break]

Listening to the woman talk Blaine ended up reaching into his back pocket and pulled out a small notebook and a pen, only to start scratching down a few notes about her case. He planned to keep the details in a more secure place but this little notebook would be good to remember some of the key details. All together he only wrote down three words so far, Dorian, Team Rocket, and dangerous. With that last word underlined, with the whole kidnapping and injecting thing this guy did seem pretty dangerous he'd need to be extra sneaky when investigating this.[break][break]

With a nod of his head Blaine tucked the notebook back into his pocket before speaking up again as she finished. "That sounds really bad I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'll make this my top priority and start looking into this right away. Oh I'll keep you updated on anything else i found out too."

Once the girl jumped as he spoke it at least confirmed something for Blaine, whatever it was that had her this paranoid was clearly something she believed was going on. This wasn't a case of someone just being overly cautious there was some actual basis behind her caution. This case was starting to get a little bit interesting.[break][break]

The charizard growling and baring its fangs did catch him off guard for a minute but he wasn't really scared of it. After all the pokemon was with the woman so it was obviously hers, there was no reason for it to attack him if he was here to help her. The pokemon was probably just protective of its owner like his Garchomp was with him.[break][break]

Once the woman smiled at the pikachu the little electric mouse decided to try to help cheer up the situation on its own, blowing into the pipe in its mouth and causing some normal bubbles to float out. The bubbles just being the kind you'd expect to see when a kid played around with a bubble wand and blew bubbles.[break][break]

"Yeah walking works for me, whatever you need, take all the time ya want." Blaine added as he slipped his hands into the pockets of his jeans. The man was wearing some regular civillian clothes, a black shirt and a pair of jeans. He had took her concerns to heart and didn't wanna show up in anything that screamed hey that guys a private investigator.[break][break]

As they started to walk Blaine chimed back in quickly with a "You can just call me Blaine by the way, don't really care for any formality things." Maybe if he tried to be a bit more personal it would cool her nerves a bit?

For a long time most of Blaine's cases were discussed and handled in Mauville town, he very rarely traveled. There wasn't any big reason for why he only worked in Mauville besides not having a way to get from town to town quickly. However now he had a flying pokemon big enough for him to ride on. Sure he had his Noctowl for awhile but it was just a little owl he couldn't ride on its back of course.[break][break]

The client he was meeting seemed a little bit paranoid with her request to meet in a different town but in his experience people who hired a detective usually had a reason to be a tad bit paranoid. So this wasn't really anything too out of the ordinary. Just in case there was some justification in her paranoia Blaine had landed on his Garchomp on the route ahead of Oldale town and walked the rest of the way there.[break][break]

Making his way into the town Blaine hit the button on the front of one of his pokeballs, releasing his Pikachu in a flash of white light. In a moment the little mouse pokemon was perched on his shoulder with a pipe in its mouth. Anytime he was on business the pikachu accompanied him so it was just kind of a reflex at this point.[break][break]

The girl had gave him a spot to meet up at before he actually got to the town so it didn't take too long until he found the presumed client. Coming right up to her he cleared his throat briefly before blurting out a quick "Detective Jones, do you have an appointment?"[break][break]

Of course when he was setting up the meeting he told her to say that she did have an appointment with him if asked. It was a decent way to verify their identities.

The pick up line didn't go over amazingly but Blaine sort of expected that, this wasn't some kind of cheap romance novel, a cheesy line wouldn't get him too far him. That line did seem to at least get his foot in the metaphorical door though which was all he really needed from it. Letting out a chuckle he eventually slid into the seat next to her after she mentioned this being one of the best places in Slateport.[break][break]

Despite this not really being his kind of hang out spot he could see the sort of charm in it but for now he might as well pretend to love this place too.[break][break]

"Personally I thought it was a decent line, works in all the movies right?" He asked with a slight smirk on his face as he gently plopped down into the stool by her, taking another sip of his Whiskey. The man was clearly going slow with the drink if she paid attention to it, only taking little sips every now and then, never any longer drinks. "Yeah this place is pretty cool, been here a couple times since I came into town.[break][break]

There was no point in lying about having been here before, if he claimed to of never seen this bar before the bartender might call him on his shit. "No I'm from this small city in Johto, just came into the region a few weeks ago. Trying to get my bearings and all that you know?"

While the wild Heracross was a good opportunity to practice some battling his next challenge would be a different kind of opportunity. A few more minutes of walking in silence passed before another wild pokemon caught the detectives eye, a kind of large metallic pokemon walked past a tree and grabbed his attention. It took until the pokemon went past the tree it was behind for him to actually recognize what it was, a Magnezone. [break][break]

Originally Blaine was hoping to find a fighting type to add to his team, something that could pack a real punch, but this would work just as well. Magnezone was really cool and in all honesty something he kind of wanted for awhile. Having made up his mind to battle it and capture it he tapped the button on Noctowl's pokeball to return it. Noctowl would be at a disadvantage for sure. [break][break]

Watching the Magnezone idly hover past some trees Blaine slowly reached up and tapped the fourth ball in his holster, sending out his Garchomp in a flash of white light. Garchomp had an advantage over the Magnezone, it had a few moves that were super effective against this thing from what Blaine remembered about Magnezone.[break][break]

Taking a moment to clear his throat before speaking Blaine glanced over at the Garchomp, a hand slipping down into his pocket for an empty pokeball. "Grace, I want you to burrow over there with Dig but don't actually hit it. Pop out next to it and then use Fire Fang." If the plan worked the surprise super effective attack would probably catch it off guard long enough to be caught.[break][break]

Without any noise to acknowledge the command the Garchomp jumped up slightly before going claw first into the ground, digging through the dirt and soil until it eventually popped up to the right of the Magnezone causing the pokemon to stop moving and stare at it. Opening its mouth up Garchomp's fangs' erupted into flames before the dragon lunged forward and chomped into the antenna on top of the Magnezone, causing the wild pokemon to float backwards in a mixture of pain and confusion.[break][break]

Waiting until the Fire Fang attack landed Blaine held his place until the Magnezone started to move backwards, only to then slowly walk towards the big magnet pokemon before tossing the empty ball at the back of it. The pokeball sucking Magnezone up before clattering to the floor and shaking a few times. After those shakes the ball let out a little ding sound to indicate it was caught.[break][break]

With a simple nod to his Garchomp to let her know she did a good job Blaine scooped up the newly captured pokemon and placed the ball in one of holsters. Now that he captured something it was probably time to get back to work. Returning Garchomp to her own pokeball Blaine turned and began making his way back into town to finish his case.

It didn't take Blaine too long of searching to actually find a wild pokemon, maybe a minute or two of walking around before he noticed something that grabbed his attention. Coming to a stop the man watched the wild pokemon walk around for a little white, it was a Heracross, bug and fighting type. While it wasn't something he was personally interested in having it would probably be an easy win for one of his pokemon. They could use a bit more experience fighting anyway.[break][break]

Reaching a hand up to one of his holsters the man tapped the button on the front of a pokeball, releasing his Noctowl in a flash of white light in the grass in front of him. It didn't seem like the Heracross noticed him yet, it was busy eating something so he had the drop on it.[break][break]

"This'll be easy Strider, could probably even take it out before it knows whats going on. Use Hypnosis and then Air Slash. If it's still up after that..well if it is i'll let ya know." With that said the Owl flapped its wings and started to fly over to the Heracross, the fluttering grabbing the wild pokemons attention. [break][break]

As the bug turned to see what the noise was it was met with the sight of Noctowl's glowing blue eyes, the glow being the Hypnosis attack that soon lulled it right to sleep. With Heracross asleep and unable to stop what came next the Noctowl shot up into the air before flying right back down with a blue energy coating its wing. Slamming into the Heracross with the Air slash attack Noctowl sent its opponent down to the ground fainted with the extremely effective move.[break][break]

Seeing that the Heracross was down Blaine simply whistled to grab Noctowls attention before continuing on down the route in search of the next opponent.[break][break]

Luckily Blaine wasn't waiting too long until the person he was hoping to run into came into the bar. Out of the corner of his eye he watched the white haired woman walk into the bar, giving his attention right back to his drink once he made sure it was her. He didn't wanna draw extra attention to himself by looking too long in her direction, although in a bar that might actually work?[break][break]

When he first came in here his original goal was just to observe for the day but now another thought was running through his mind. What if he took a more personal approach on this one? The fact that they were in a bar sort of changed the situation a bit. It wouldn't be too out there if he actually talked to a random person in a bar.[break][break]

Having made up his mind Blaine slid off of his stool with his whiskey in hand, heading on over to where the woman was sitting before leaning against the counter on her left side. Not actually taking a seat yet. "Hey, you come here often? You mind if I have a seat?"
