Without really knowing anyone else that had to go through the whole hoopa nightmare fiasco Blaine always had this sort of lingering doubt in the back of his mind that it was all just a dream and nothing else. Not a weird shared dream that people were actually in but just a regular everyday dream that he had, probably the result of drinking too soon before bed or something.[break][break]

Now that Illeana was actually here in front of him though that doubt was wiped from his mind all together, the person he spent practically the entire time in the dream with was physically here. It was just kind of nice to finally have a concrete answer to whether or not that was actually real.[break][break]

"At least something good came out of it all though right? I mean Darkrai didn't get stuck in a bottle for the rest of eternity and we got to meet each other. So it wasn't all bad.." Blaine rambled out a little as he looked around the area, trying to think of the best way to get the two of them and the delibird down to the town. He understood that the Delibird had to get the gifts delivered but the man was kind of surprised it was just one bird trying to waddle through the snow all on its own to get there. [break][break]

While Blaine did notice the tucking of a strand of hair behind her ear he didn't really think anything of it or even link it to the fact that he complimented her. Now normally if you flirted with someone you'd try to pay attention for a sign of how they reacted to it but what Blaine had actually said still hadn't caught up to him yet. So he wasn't really looking for anything specific reaction wise and was just thinking about their weird nightmare trip together instead.[break][break]

As Illeana spoke to the Delibird Blaine just watched in silence, coming to a decision in his mind on which way they'd go to actually get to Fortree city. They'd just follow the Delibird, the little bird had to know where it was going if it was even out here trying to make the trip in the first place. "I kind of know my way around here, why don't we let Delibird over here lead the way though, they probably know the best way to get there."[break][break]

Almost as if the Delibird was just waiting for the word to go the little bird took off waddling through the snow, squawking as it took one moment to look back at the two trainers to see if they were still following it. Chuckling a bit Blaine gave Illeana a quick shrug before following after the pokemon, he was worried about if it actually got there so as long as the pokemon knew the way he'd make sure it was safe.[break][break]

"Guess Delibird liked that idea. Make sure you stay by me though so we don't get separated, plus its kinda cold so we should stay together." Not having a fire type of his own always came back to bite him in the rear every winter. "Oh I think I got an idea, after we get Delibird there do you wanna get some hot chocolate instead of that coffee we talked about in the..other place, it could even be like a date or something." He rambled out to Illeana as he kept his eyes on the Delibird, this time the detective knew exactly what he said and was a bit too nervous to actually look at her while asking.[break][break]

Sure Blaine liked the cold but just enjoying the weather didn't really stop him from starting to shiver as he stood around in the snow awaiting some backup. On the bright side he wasn't really waiting around for too long until someone arrived. Well at least not long enough to be upset in anyway about the wait, or long enough that he was in danger of getting sick from just standing around in the cold. [break][break]

While he wasn't really expecting anything special to come out of the request for help the last thing he expected was for someone he knew to answer the call. On top of that Blaine had actually been hoping to run into this girl again after their little trip together through hoopa's nightmare world. The two had talked a little bit about meeting up for coffee after everything was over and done with; but that didn't happen as of yet, probably due to the fact that Blaine didn't really know how to reach her. Sure he could of did some detective work and found her but it seemed like kind of a weird thing to do.[break][break]

At first when the man turned to see who called out to him he wasn't entirely sure who it was, he didn't really spend enough time with Illeana yet to recognize her voice immediately. However once he actually saw her the man couldn't help but get a big ol smile; he didn't even mind the surprise hug from her, quite the opposite actually he returned the hug with a little laugh. [break][break]

Glancing back over his shoulder to make sure the deibird hadn't wandered off he quickly moved his attention back to Illeana. "Its really good to see you!" Even now the grin was still on his face as he took a small step back as the hug ended, not wanting to invade her personal space or try to seem way too excited to see her again.[break][break]

"You know I was actually kind of starting to think that maybe it all really was some kind of weird dream. I mean fighting a legendary pokemon, and zombies and meeting a cute girl it just all seemed a lot like a dream" Although in his excitement to be reunited with her he didn't even realize that last part slipped out. [break][break]

Taking a moment to look over at the Delibird again Blaine slipped hands into his pockets, still shivering slightly from the cold. "I was just going on a walk and I found this little bird right here. It seems stuck on getting to Fortree to deliver whatever gifts it has, I didn't want to make it go alone so I asked for some backup with getting him down there."[break][break]

In all honesty the winter was probably Blaine's favorite time of the year. The other seasons were just fine but there was something he really liked about the cold in general and the snow that covered the ground certainly helped add to the overall atmosphere. So it wasn't too out of the norm for Blaine to just be wandering around on a walk in the middle of winter with no other work to do.[break][break]

However without any fire pokemon of his own for extra warmth the Detective had to just bundle up really good for how cold it was outside. At the moment he had on a big puffy coat, a scarf and a hat to help keep him warm. A far stretch from his usual attire of whatever's closet when he crawls out of bed in the morning. [break][break]

At least he wasn't entirely alone on this little journey; during his walk the man had stumbled upon a delibird that was trying its hardest to get down to Fortree city to deliver what he could only assume were gifts, no matter what he tried the bird seemed hellbent on getting to the city. After a lot of convincing and giving the bird snacks Blaine was able to at least get it to stop for the moment instead of letting it just continue on the dangerous journey. The bird could barely even see over the amount of snow it was trying to waddle through.[break][break]

While escorting a delibird didn't seem too difficult on its own the conditions for the area they were trying to traverse weren't exactly ideal for an actual mission. Not wanting to be stuck out here alone just in case things went downhill for himself and the bird Blaine had requested a bit of help from the league, just asking if there was anyone in the nearby area that could help him out with escorting delibird.[break][break]

For the moment the Detective stood around next to the Delibird as he awaited backup, just focusing on keeping the Delibird from waddling off on its own.

Parties were never really the kind of thing Blaine went to, the detective typically preferred to just hang out in his office pouring over bits and pieces of whatever cases he had lying around at the moment. Having had a lack of work recently the man didn't have much else going on so he had decided to attend the winter ball after skipping the last ball that was held in the region. [break][break]

In anticipation of this Blaine had a tuxedo prepared for the night, if he was gonna be here he might as well try to steal the show outfit wise. Managing to fit both the theme of formal wear and ugly Christmas sweaters into one outfit.[break][break]

Having needed to work up the courage to actually show up it took Blaine awhile to actually get to the ball, while it could be interpreted as him trying to be fashionably late it was probably way too late into the night for it to be considered that. Entering the ball in his fancy getup Blaine took a few moments to look around at what was going on inside the highland lodge. It seemed that something had made the fire in the main room go out before he got here, but without a fire type there wasn't anything he could do about that.[break][break]

For now the detective simply moved off to the side of the room, his Morpeko hanging out on top of his shoulder. From a very brief glance when he first came in he didn't immediately spot anyone he knew so Blaine would just simply wait here and observe looking for someone to hang out with.[break][break]

"Well to be honest.." Blaine started to respond in regards to the woman asking why he was down here if he didn't expect to run into anyone else. Taking a brief pause to think about whether or not his actual reasoning for being in the cave was weird or not the man eventually decided to just roll with it. "I didn't really have any work to do today so I had some time to myself. Decided to just kind of go exploring, it seemed fun." [break][break]

It wasn't too much longer after that response that he unconsciously answered the weird voice's question, at first he had thought the woman randomly asked the question so he blurted out an answer. Though it wasn't until his answer already came out that he realized it wasn't her asking. Any answer to the question was probably the wrong answer and now that a strange loop was materializing in the air next to the two humans it was probably too late to take it back.[break][break]

Taking a cautionary step back Blaine stared in confusion at the strange loop before a seemingly wild Magmortar was ejected from the portal. Immediately darting a hand down Blaine tapped one of the pokeballs on his belt releasing his Slowking in between the two of them and the Magmortar. "In my defense I thought you asked the question but get out of here, i'll hold this thing off."[break][break]

He didn't really know anything about the woman and just assumed she wouldn't be down to battle a random pokemon in the dark with a stranger. So being the good law abiding citizen he was Blaine offered to just take care of the fight. Seeing that the pokemon was getting ready to emit a blast of flames out of its arm cannon thing he quickly chimed in again with "Water Pulse!"[break][break]

With an attack order given Slowking held out its own arm and sent forth a sphere of water that collided with the Magmortar's flames, extinguishing the attack before it could actually hit the two of them.[break][break]
