attack any trainer who even dares to come near you, and respond to their attacks in kind. that's what she was told to do by her trainer, who was comfortably watching their encounter from the luxuries of her own room. the aurorus raises its long neck, then letting out a majestic cry as though to see if they can rile up any of the pokemon. their attempt is a failure, however, for the moment. they are eventually hit with a sudden shock of electricity, and it causes the fossil pokemon to groan in irritation as it felt its muscles tense. [break][break]

in response, it raises its head and began to form something of a pure, white orb. their neck then slings in the direction of the electric dog, hoping to hit with an encore. [break][break]

the altaria is successful in fending the spinarak off, although the tiny, green spiders seemed to click in distaste (and hunger) alike. as they were not harmed, a few that weren't flipped onto their backs by the nimbus dragon scurried back to hide behind a fairly protective, yellow spider. the den pokemon seemed slightly displeased, especially with the audacity of a bird who decided to swoop down and disturb a new feast (that would have been stopped by ayame if things went too far, anyways). [break][break]

as such, the galvantula hisses and began to charge up an electroweb - the thin yet strong fibres began to crackle of electricity, and was preparing to be launched at the altaria. [break][break]

and just then, a little vivillon fluttered through the forest, close down by the galvantula. it held a small monitor, with the gym leader herself sitting in the japanese-styled teahouse with a small smile. she holds the cup in front of her body, as though to mockingly offer it through the screen. "it doesn't look like a good situation for you, here." she comments, tilting her head. "i hope you can escape." and with that, the vivillon lets out a happy squeal and flies back above the trees to observe.

twigs crack under his shoes with each step, which only mildly alerts other pokemon getting ready for their sleep. the makeshift path of twigs littering the path eventually leads to a section of the forest, appearing to have half-eaten berry bushes attempting to withstand the winter cold. they appeared to be edible, though more directed towards pokemon to eat. upon a closer glance, they seemed to be mature oran berries, mixed with a few sitrus berries not too far from the batch. [break][break]

closer inspection reveals that some berries have been half eaten, but many were still intact and juicy. still, surprising that it was capable of growing. it's possible that a pokemon assisted in the growth of these during these few months for other pokemon. [break][break]

for the time being, it was silent. it seemed like there were trees that could act as an overhead shelter, but the wind chill wasn't as minimized (due to lacking branches from trees). another path made itself apparent past the berry bushes. however this time, larger branches had fallen off the trees where visible sickle-like arms had slashed through in a seeming frenzy. it looked like it was chasing something.

In spite of his attempts to warm up, it seems like the air was only getting more dry and cold with each step. [break][break]

Away from the thick of the forest, he eventually comes across a clearing with barren trees, moist mud under a thin layer of snow, and thin ice scattered across the ground. The ice crystals that floated through the air causes the thin ice to freeze unevenly, creating a pattern around the prehistoric pokemon. [break][break]

The cracking of thin ice catches her attention, prompting the large pokemon to crane her neck to take a better look. The colourful flaps on its head and neck has a reddish hue ripple across. It gets up and stomps its foot against crunching, glass-like ice. With a cry into the air, it releases more crystals and they are launched upwards. Clouds form in the sky, and pieces of hail begin to fall.[break][break]
