She takes a look to the dwebble that strolls into her path, although she doesn't pay much mind to the little rock crab. Instead, she found it a bit cute. She has a crustle of her own, so she can't help but to feel slightly endeared watching it scuttle around and across the ground. But alas, it seemed to be doing alright, so she passed by with a smile on her face. "Be careful~" she says in passing, giving a small smile was the ribombee gives a passing wave.

The galvantula wasn't looking for a meal, thankfully, for the trainer. Although they would like to, they would have to abide by the gym leader. On the other hand, that didn't stop them from wanting to scare the man just a little bit. Witnessing Lars' attempt to escape and move, though hindered by the webs and slight electric charge in them, it began to loudly hiss. [break][break]

The spider pokemon effectively notifies the surrounding pokemon, and soon he can hear the scuttling of many other legs - all of which belong to a small crowd of five spinarak. [break][break]

the spinarak began to circle around him in a curious manner, until they create a formation around him and prepare to encase him in threads. Though the galvantula won't eat him, who's to say the wild pokemon won't?

As he follows the bug pokemon, he finds that more began to gather. More and more, until he catches the whiff of a slightly sweet aroma. Further walking will lead him to an elevated footing. The drop isn't too high, but some footwork around will definitely be needed to get around unscathed. The trees do not obstruct the moonlit sky, and even then the volbeat circling around and creating complex patterns for their female counterparts is enough to illuminate the air. [break][break]

The volbeat and illumise seem to be enjoying their night, and there are no signs of anything hostile, yet. [break][break]

It's getting late. It would probably be smart to set up camp, what with the airs slowly growing more chilly by the minute. The dropping temperatures of the night, mixed with the chilled airs of hoenn winter is cruel. [break][break]

The elevated ground is too low to be a cliff, but the mud will still make it slippery if he tries to go down. On the other hand, there are numerous stones, twigs and leaves scattered about.

The darkness makes it difficult to see. A bit of walking, and he'll find himself in an area with mud resting beneath a thin layer of ice; the terrain was dangerous to walk on. [break][break]

Thankfully, flickers of light begin to make their way around. A swarm of VOLBEAT begin to dance around in the air, and their light from the backside begin to faintly reveal the path. They won't be there for long, however. [break][break]

These pokemon are harmless, and pay no mind to the trainer trying to make his way quietly. [break][break]

However, the dim veil of light reveals a path deviating from the icy-muddy terrain. The soil was much more dry, and pebbles begin to litter the ground. The sound of running water could be heard in the distance..[break][break]

On the other hand, the muddy terrain doesn't last for long: the volbeat seem to be heading down the path to take shelter. Following them will continue to provide light..

No one is spared of any harsh treatment. [break][break]

After a pleasant chat in the tea house-styled gym, along with laying down the ground rules with fail conditions, the challenger would have been given a pleasant cup of tea to drink. Tea that was laced, and would have quickly an easily done the job. With help, the challenger would have been thrown into a random point in the vast forest specifically closed off for gym challenges. Upon waking, he finds he has only the clothes on his back, three pokemon, and a flare shoved in a pocket. In addition, he was given the simple instruction:[break][break]

hunt or survive.[break][break]

The night, at least. Unfortunately, the pokemon were restless this night. Cries and hisses could be heard from the forest, but the night made it awfully chilly; especially with the colder weather of Hoenn winters. The forest around looked identical from any and all angles-- save for three distinctive routes. [break][break]

The right path littered with broken twigs and slashed trees.[break]
The left path has a melted layer of snow, followed by large footprints. [break]
The middle path is untouched, but cries and humming could be heard in the distance. [break]
The current location has the scent of honey wafting through the air...

very nice moonlight was pleasant, along with the lining of christmas lights decorated through the trees for the holidays. the chirping of pokemon around and about was even more so. unfortunately, the thin layer of snow made it difficult for her to pick flowers, so she opted with making a make-shift, twig wreath by bending the flexible ones to decorate her lurantis. the grass type seemed content, and ayame giggles. [break][break]

the ribombee twirls in the air, dancing about with a cheerful glee as the snow gently fell from above. she had herself all dressed up or the holidays, topped with the ugly christmas sweater and the festive boots of her own. unfortunately, her pokemon seemed to question her choice. she giggles. "if it's flashy, it might attract other bug pokemon, right?" like moths to a flame, she liked to think.

waiting at the entrance of the forest, was ayame. she maintains the same, soft smile on her lips whilst tilting her head at the visibly injured trainer. behind her was an ambulance she called to compensate for the challenger's injuries. her pokemon had been, thankfully, helping her out escape the labyrinth of a forest.

lurantis had been slashing through debris while vivillon had latched himself onto the young girl's back to keep her standing. she tugs on the sleeve of her kimono, pulling the small, rainbow badge pinned with numerous of the same.

"congratulations on earning the survival badge." she says again, holding the badge to the trainer. when she takes it, ayame waves her hand to the vivillon as paramedics come from the ambulance to take the injured trainer. "you did a wonderful job. i will make sure to visit you at the hospital to check up on you again. your pokemon have been returned to your bag." and said bag was in ayame's arms to be held and carried by vivillon to accompany over to the ambulance. 

and with that, she waves her off as the paramedics take the successful challenger.

much as she hated to lose--

the objective wasn't to win; it was to hopefully buy time for the turbulent rocket she had for a partner. so when her beautifly lets out a pained cry from the second ice type attack - thought weakened, - ayame didn't seem far too concerned; especially because she felt that they overstayed their visit. with a glance to her snom, then to the trainer, she gives him a brief bow then polite smile.

"ah, forgive me. please give me a moment~" she still says, yet pulls out another pokeball from her belt. this time, it was a buzzing vikavolt that hovered over the ground. "powder snow." she commands the snom, whilst pulling out a walkie-talkie. 

pressing the button, she speaks into it. "if you're finished, let me know. i have a getaway for us~" and by getaway, she meant a giant centipede who can hold the both of them. 

"over~" she ends the message. her voice was quiet, thankfully enough for her to give the notification. she turns her attention back to the battle before her, then motioning to the vikavolt. "charge."

  • beautifly was hit by powder snow!
  • beautifly fainted!
  • sent out vikavolt; uses charge. sp. def is raised and next electric type attack is stronger!
  • snom uses powder snow on hippowdon!
  • ayame's pulling a walkie-talkie to ask about priam's progress

she doesn't know what ticked her more. 

the fact that the yanma asked, or the fact that he was being so genuine about it. she, so desperately, wanted to ram a rock right onto the bug pokemon's chattering mouth, but she figured that she was always being mean enough. that, and she was starting to feel bad for being so immature and bratty about it. 

even when he was so off the mark. 

so instead of trying to chuck a rock at the dragonfly, she groans and snuffs at the offer. "no thanks," she groans, beginning to twitch the little flaps on top of her head. the moody dino felt the guilt catching up to her as she backs up, the slightest bit. she lowers her head, slight and reluctantly. "... my trainer will be here, soon." she says, lowering her head a bit. she begins to walk off. 

not without saying a soft 'sorry' with her head craned down, because the shame was catching up to her.

the haxorus, though thankfully conditioned to fight without the trainer order, still couldn't fight against more than one pokemon at a time. the icicle crash had left him severely weakened, and the zubats had, though minimal, had done a small scratch at his scales as well. [break][break]

the beat up was the final straw. [break][break]

the dragon lets out a loud roar and groan, now on both knees and falling to the ground. the blade of its axe-like tusk hit the ground, leaving an indent into the hardened dirt. kokuri, the den pokemon, had been defeated. [break][break]

and just when the pokemon fell to the ground, a small ribombee buzzes and hums, holding something of a petite monitor - no larger than a rotom phone - with the gym leader herself, sitting in the confines of her gym home with a cup of tea in her hands. she smiles into the screen. "congratulations." she says, staring to the lens of her camera. [break][break]

"i hope kokuri didn't cause you too much trouble." [break][break]

she says. behind the ribombee follows a lurantis and a vivillon.[break][break]

"please follow the lurantis and vivillon back to the entrance of the forest and recall your pokemon. they will protect you on the way out. i will see you and give you the badge when you leave." [break][break]

and with that, the monitor turns off. [break][break]

congratulations! you have defeated the den pokemon: HAXORUS. please make a post of your character leaving the grounds. your badge will be given to you in the next post. you do not need to roll.
