Okay so—

These two have met exactly once before, but seeing as they’re both Rangers (albeit Izumi’s a bit lower on the ranking ladder because she’s also a housewife who has two little terror children to take care of) why not have them meet some more?

Like, oh I dunno, other missions and the like? I mean he’s already seen her know some martial arts and all that shit. Only… how will he feel around all those Fire-type Pokémon she has in spades (she’s from Lavaridge, cut her some slack it’s a thing)?

Like she has I think half of the Fire-type starters at this point lol

Why did they put off the cleaning until the very last minute?!

Not to mention the fact that they had two very hyperactive children that loved running around and messing shit up, this was going to be a rather monumental task in and on itself.

“Lyra! Zach! Don’t make a mess in the kitchen!” she shouted from behind the cloth she’d wrapped around the lower half of her face, mop in one hand and dust pan in another. “I swear, if you two cause even more of a mess you’re not getting anything to eat later!”

The sounds of shrieking, giggling and running footsteps echoed around the place.

What the hell are we cleaning this time? XD

Seeing as how Lavaridge was way too small to host festivities on a scale of this size, she’d decided that they go out to another city and explore what they had.

And of course, one of the places had Magikarp Fishing as an attraction. The problem was finding the exact city where it was located, considering that all of the bigger cities had attractions uniquely their own for the holiday season.

After countless hours of questioning, she’d managed to find the place where the Magikarp Fishing booth was—and wondered if they were going to be catching guppies or the real damned thing.

She wasn’t expecting to see a literal tank of Magikarp upon arrival in Petalburg. Wait, was that a—

“Hey, hey!” she hissed in Josh’s direction, elbowing him. “You think we can catch that golden ‘Karp? There’s apparently a prize of some sort if someone gets it,” she suggested.

She just knew how… competitive he could get…

Of course Izumi had acquired some new bath bombs from somewhere other than Hoenn.

Of course she wanted to test them out and see just how fragrant they were.

Well, the problem here was—was it going to work in hot springs water just as well as it did in a bath tub at home?! There was only one way to find out—and that was to book one of the hot springs in the little town they called home for themselves for the evening.

Of course the kids were being taken care of by her mom in the meantime, because this was going to be some good ol’ conversation between the husband and wife!

Not to mention that they had completely missed a war and not realized what the fuck had gone down until the media had blasted it over and over and over again on the television, on the Pokénet…

Honestly it was just time to relax.

Chuckling, she held one of the vanilla and jasmine-scented bath bombs and looked around, wondering when Josh was going to get there and join her.

“Bombs away,” she chuckled as she yeeted the bath bomb into the deepest part of the hot springs. Watching the surface of the water change as the bath bomb made contact with the water, releasing its potent ingredients and infusing the water with that delicious smell…

Well the first round went off just fine.

This next one, though…

Izumi wasn’t expecting to bump into, quite literally, one of the ambassadors from another region altogether! While she’d heard of the man’s reputation way back in summer (having been announced as the ambassador for Galar to her tiny little home region of Hoenn) her eyebrows went up somewhat at his mood.

“Well, I wasn’t—expecting you,” she remarked with a chuckle. “Sorry had a bit of a hold-up,” she gestured to the small platters of cookies she’d picked up from the table. “Wasn’t expecting so many people at the dessert table.”

As the weird-looking stone revealed itself, Izumi couldn’t help but feel—more than bothered when she saw it for what it was.

Having traveled through pretty much most of the known journeys while she was still a decade or so younger, she recognized it for what it was, before elbowing Josh in the side casually.

“You see that?” she remarked, pointing at the Odd Keystone. It gave her the creeps, honestly.

Now that they were getting closer to…whatever they were supposed to do, she wondered if it was wise to attack dirt with fire. But… well…

Nothing ever made sense in this universe, right?

Unballing a familiar-looking Quilava, she pointed at the dead-center of the wall.

“Flamethrower. Yes, I know it’s weird, but go!” she continued, before a controlled blast of flames peppered the wall.

People setting off fireworks near forested areas—how the hell-ass irresponsible could they get?!

That was a literal fire hazard in more ways than one!

So now there were reports all over the woodland sections of Hoenn of fires burning out of control just because people had decided to get too feisty and shoot off fireworks near a forest. It was always with the fireworks!

“Josh, I’m headed in!” she said over the earpiece, coming down on Sora the Braviary. The moment she touched down on the ground, she threw a Pokéball forward and watched as the lizard-like Water-type emerged.

“Rain Dance!” she began, pointing at the obviously-burning section of the forest. “Hydro Pump any big burning patches you see!”

The Inteleon went to work, summoning a swirl of gray storm clouds before letting it rain all over the nearby area.

Apparently there was a need for Pokémon who could help out with maintenance at the Mossdeep Space Center… and there was a fucking Steelix within the cramped walls.

The blue-tinged Toxtricity sighed and shook its head. What the hell was that doing in here?!

Seeing that there was a part of the facility that needed some Electric-types to absorb the dangerous power surges, the Toxtricity went there and stood next to the wall socket, readily absorbing the electricity and keeping the technicians who were repairing some delicate equipment from getting zapped themselves and causing work disruption.
