“Ooh, look. He’s snickering,” she gestured, pointing at the Meowstic, who was still eating donut holes in plain sight. “Is he always like this?” she asked, watching as the Pokémon continued to eat the sweets that it had managed to get ahold of.

“Right now, well… believe it or not I didn’t hear much about the fighting until after it was over. Had to stay in Lavaridge to take care of the older people there, considering my mom’s part of their group. Well, she’s not that old yet, but we have a café over there. Should you come by, let me know—I’m looking for people who can taste-test new stuff we make.”

Did she really drop all that in just one go? Definitely.

“I pray they never see you dancing,” Izumi teased, sticking out her tongue his way before getting caught off-guard with that peck on the lips. This, of course, caused her to blush like an idiot.

“You know if they see you, they’re going to start copying whatever the shirt you’re doing. They’re like sponges at this point,” she added a few moments later as she let him take the lead.

Of course, their height difference was all the more pronounced the longer they went around the area. Hoping that they didn’t wake the clearly-snoring kids up with their ‘noise’ (if she could call it that) she chuckled a bit.

“Of course. How the hell am I going to forget something like that?” she remarked. “Four years ago. How can I ever forget that you went all-out and decided to propose right in front of everyone without warning? You caught me by surprise, there.”

And what a nice surprise it was.

Izumi had signed up for this… crazy shenanigans. Well, she was maybe more than a little disappointed that Josh wasn’t around, but hey, at least she got the chance to mingle with whoever else decided to show up.

Today’s companion was someone—someone she was familiar with, thank Arceus! Chuckling softly, she looked down at the Meowstic and pretended to wag a finger in its direction.

“Well, I dunno about you but look who I found hanging around near the buffet table,” Izumi chuckled as she gestured at the not-so-guilty looking Meowstic that was totally munching into one of the pilfered donut holes from the snack area of the buffet.

“So—how’ve you been?” she inquired as she sat herself down, no-holds barred into her seat. Watching a frazzled wait staff come over, she couldn’t help but feel sympathy for the poor guy.

“Just hot chocolate with extra mint for me,” she said in the staffer’s direction, before tilting her head in Razz’s direction. “Anything you want that they have? Apparently it’s all ‘free’, so…”

Of course, Izumi did not miss that action from her husband. Resisting the urge to eye roll his way (because they were in fucking public, good grief) she instead sighed.

“Really?” was all she could add a few moments later. Now that the first layer had been cleared away… it was time to go for the… wait, where the hell were they aiming at? Top-right?

Blinking confusedly, the Toxtricity looked her way again, and she groaned even louder. “Oh, come on… again?” she continued with another sigh. She was going to run out of sighs for the rest of the time they were here. Either way…

“Use it. Again. Yeah, ‘it’,” she emphasized, doing the classic ‘air quotes’ gesture at her Pokémon. The Toxtricity looked at her, very much confused by what the fuck she meant.

“That!” she continued, making a bold gesture and pointing at the top-right… side. “Again!” she went on, hoping that the Toxtricity took the fucking hint.

Finally, a moment of understanding as the Pokémon rumbled before letting loose with another Overdrive. Izumi plugged her hands into her ears the moment the echoing sound ripped through the area.

If there was one thing she absolutely could not stand, it was the fact that there was still Electric-types that existed.

Now, for all intents and purposes, her Toxtricity was supposed to be Poison-type however there was still the nagging problem of it knowing so many Electric-type moves and it absolutely drove her nuts.

Ducking behind Josh, she threw the Pokéball forward, hearing the bursting of red light but turning away in order to avoid having to see what was going to happen next.

Utterly confused, the Toxtricity looked around—only to see the spiky-haired man that her human companion was hiding behind. “Myst! I, uh—“ she trailed off, before squealing and covering her ears.

“Use THAT!” she said, offering very little context whatsoever before hiding behind Josh. God, all these years and she still hated the sight of Electric-type attacks.

Shrugging, the Toxtricity then released an Overdrive, the reverberating sound echoing around the area and focusing it on the lower right-hand corner side of the wall they were faced with.

Izumi sighed—just how much of the war had she missed? Shaking her head, she looked at the… crater that was slowly being rebuilt around the area.

Just what the hell had happened here? She could only wonder what Josh had been doing while this shit was going down.

We lived through this and we didn’t even notice what was happening—wait. Wait, wait, hold up… she thought, before reaching for her phone and dialing Josh Dragomir’s number.

There was a lightbulb that clicked on in her head, and she wondered if one of his new Pokémon had something to do with this shit.

She was waiting for him to pick up when something caught her eye—an incoming Claydol, glowing and just about ready to explode. Wait, explode?

Oh, hell no!

“Not today, Satan,” she muttered as she chucked an empty Pokéball at it before turning away and waiting for her husband to pick up the phone.

Izumi blinked—damn was her mother a psychic or some sort? How did she have so much food ready for all of them to feast on, and on such short notice to boot?!

Looking at her with this slightly incredulous look, she mumbled, “Sometimes, Ma, you never fail to amaze me,” before breaking out into a chuckle and seeing that Serena was going to take over keeping an eye on the kids.

“Please,” she added empathically in the brown-haired woman’s direction. “They’re… I can’t even control them anymore. The kid leashes don’t work at this point,” she continued with a huff and a mental eye roll in Josh’s direction, because it was his fault now.

Winking, she stuck out her tongue at Josh before grabbing the bottle of sunblock and squeezing a glob out on her hand before turning to face him.

“If you’re gonna go topless, now is the time to do it,” she teased, keeping an eye on the kids while they were literally screaming and splashing each other, fighting like mock-‘Waterbenders’ of some sort.

“You wouldn’t want me to waste this sunblock now, would you?” she went on, gesturing to the glob of sunblock in her hand.
