She felt like a guide Pokemon, and that was ok. What wasn't ok was the scenery that she and Alexei Ivanov came upon. This was the future? She halts a moment, forgetting to warn Alexei of the sudden stop before jerking back into awareness. "...Sorry, I...I was just a little frightened." Her lie was easy. What came next would not.

Hand on Alexei's arm, she started to walk. In the chaos of everything else, she walked, short barks of words to inform Alexei before they had to walk over a bump. She felt no need to inform him what these bumps were.

She saw herself, in a flash of recognition. She was still whole, with one of those spears pierced through her body...of course, through her chest, where she still felt the bite in her nightmares. Something else familiar lay near too, something that reminded her of the Tree of Life, but in Pokemon form. Could it be? No matter. She had already died once, and she would forever never allow a second death. Would never allow her Ekans to lay next to her, destroyed. Would never allow her family the same fate. She squeezed Alexei's arm as if to keep him close...and if that meant some friends who were not really friends had to go, she'd be fine with that.

As the riddle was typed in, Kaida nodded, speaking out loud. "Yes, Klefki. Mischevious, closes and opens doors." She wondered if that meant something?

Not that she had long to ponder, as more attacks rained from the sky as scarlet howling. It seemed hot war had found her again. "Alexei! Protect ourselves!" She fumbled, the only one who's memories were still intact, trying to remember where he had gotten those elusive feathers. She didn't ask, pushing his hand around it as she pointed it upwards, "Make the wind, hurry!"

Her second hand fumbled for her Pokeballs, managing to return Yamega and release her arachnid companion, the Araquanid that immediately put up a Wide Guard. Her gaze shot around, fixing on Guillermo Marceliño as she made a decision. Alexei didn't need a friend that wasn't a friend, did he? Should he come near, he'd find Kaida ready to shove him out.

TLDR: Kaida leads Alexei Ivanov into the future, trying to follow Guillermo Marceliño while also trying her best to not let him know what's all around them. She sees herself and Xerneas, and very much wants to prevent this death. She answers to herself what the riddle is: Klefki before the meteors fall. Remembering the wind Alexei summoned, she makes him grab a feather and points it up, while also switching her Pokemon for Araquanid to use Wide Guard...should Memo be nearby, she denies the protection to him.

The worlds were going to end...and that meant...what? The concept was as if saying all life on a planet was going to end, how far did it go? How did one even know when all life ended in entirety. In the end Kaida...scoffed, disbelieving in her own simple way. So disasters were going to continue happening, what exactly else was new in her life? She did wonder how she was supposed to be one of the people destroying the world, was it her death? A creeping feeling clenched in her chest at the memory, the tree she failed to protect, no, destroyed.

With the scan underfoot, she suddenly could breath again. Some kind of film she had never been aware of was torn away from her body and her emotions flowed freely, and surfaced on her body. Her traditional awkward smile stretched across her face, and she felt no need to squash it back down, even aware how different it looked from others. She felt...good, not duty bound, not stupid.

So Guillermo Marceliño 's sudden change in demeanor, and the sudden violence awakening in everybody shook her core. "What're you-Memo!? Come here, come back!" What was this!? When did the man become the second Fernando in the room!? Her commands didn't seem to work, and she hunched over at his retreating back, mouth bared as some guttural noise left her. "Rrrr!" Atop her back, her Yamega gleefully mimicked her revulsion.

As Alexei discovered nothing in his sights, Kaida turned to him, taking a few moments to realize one thing. His eyes were not there anymore. He was blind. Memo's Pokemon was trying to help, but had no means of commanding him. With the churning violence nearby, they had no time to waste. She had to get him away from these stupid humans "It's fine. Do not panic." She isn't sure whether she is speaking to man or Pokemon but strides forward nontherless. Something she would have called self-restraint, or politeness, no longer has strings on her.

She grabs Alexei's arm.

"We're going to lead you." She nods at the equine Pokemon, hoping it would understand her. Touch was not something she could give, her family was the only one she would dare extend herself to. It wasn't proper to touch, nor was it proper to ask to touch, unless one knew a person well. She was fairly certain she knew nobody well enough. Somehow, it didn't matter anymore.

"Step where we lead you...the ground is flat, we're safe." They were certainly not safe, but she needed cooperation. She left fiery thoughts unsaid as she lead Alexei towards the Future, something she could never be certain would be granted to her. We're going to beat down your friend for abandoning you.


TLDR: Kaida more or less doesn't believe in the "death of the universes" and loses her Shame in the scan. Frightened by the tensions, worried over Alexei Ivanov and angry at Guillermo Marceliño , she grabs Alexei's arm and helps lead him to the Future Terminal.

The train roars over them, and Kaida feels more than a little sick as noise seems to shake the air around her. No doubt, they were going to be killed just like she was. Quite suddenly, it is over. With flashes of her own dead face staring back at her, Kaida stands. They are back, but something is wrong, Kaida notes as Alexei fails to recognize them, looking as if he is viewing a stranger. She must have failed then, and let him be hit in the head.

"Y-yes, you knew that man...introduced him as Memo to me...do you, do you think you got hurt?" Curiosity like a cat, she leaned over to note the kind of injury he received, and baled at the sight. "That...is strange. Are you, no, you aren't dying so...?"

His heart was glitched over, she didn't know much of computers, but what if this injury was the type that spread? Or would actually halt his heart if left alone? She had to fix it.

As Alexei wandered towards Memo and a few strangers she leaned over and noted, she followed Alexei, as loyal as a dog. Her Yamega trembled her wings from atop her back, attempting to look friendly and reliable.

"Do not worry, Memo, Alexei. As long as we make sure he doesn't die, we can explain everything later." She had no idea how awkward that would be, but hoped she sounded reassuringly confident.


TLDR: Kaida manages to divert the train with Alexei Ivanov and Guillermo Marceliño , and is transported back with them, getting to discover Alexei's new digital injury. Not quite knowing what to do, she sticks with him in this confusion. Yamega is still with her, on her back.

It seemed an obvious choice, trust the people who knew what these Pokemon were and pick together. At least, Kaida thought it was obvious. Apparently someone did not. With so many people around, Kaida couldn't hope to identify the wrongdoer, but still shot her gaze around in one furious movement.

No time. Her Pokemon zipped towards Alexei Ivanov, vanishing into a Pokeball as she huddled near him, feeling a surge of nostolgia as he pulled the feather out. In one moment, her heart leapt into her throat as the wind started up, memories of a tree and death rushing to the forefront of her mind. Without thinking, she clutched Alexei's shoulder, somehow convinced that she herself could launch him out of harm's way. Instinct dictated she grab a Pokeball and fling it towards, freeing her Yamega.

"I'm sorry!" Her apology came only a second before a truly awful Uproar erupted from the bug-type. Stealing any chance of sleep, and roaring out with the force of a storm, she could only hope it would be enough to divert the train.

TLDR: Kaida glares daggers around at the fact someone got one wrong, and gathers near Alexei Ivanov and Guillermo Marceliño (she is prepared to fly Alexei away but knows there is no time). Returns Araquanid and releases Yamega, who uses Uproar to both counter Darkrai and try to help divert the train.

"Alexei!" Kaida cannot help but smile, the spider she was riding chittering in happy greeting...absolutely terrifying, but friendly. She directs the Araquanid closer, tilting her head and peering at the other man with more than a little confusion before bowing her head. Even in here, politeness was important. "G-greetings..." Her usual burst of bravery hit her heart, and she firmly sat up, "Stay close to me, we'll protect you."

Kaida had seen the gods of Pokemon, even fought one or two, but she had no way to know their classifications. All she knew was that this Darkrai sent a chill down her spine, and took her back to the day Sootopolis City was taken by Rocket. She shuddered and pressed the Darkrai.

She didn't have time to help. Not truly. She'd only likely cause more troubles. With that depressing thought trying to claw its way to the forefront of her mind, Kaida jumped onto the water spider, clinging fast.

"Go! Escape!"

The words didn't even leave her mouth before the bug darted after the group, her eyes scanning everything around her. There was Alexei Ivanov. He was...he was an ally, one that hadn't worked with her for a while...she wouldn't forget he saved her life (or at least tried to). With a nudge, she directed her mount after her ally. The spider's exoskeleton gleaned brightly, a nervous Mirror Coat anticipating attack.

Terminal 2 was the best option for her anyways. She was nothing special like an Avatar, and she had no connection to the Beasts, unless their blood on their hands counted. Indeed, she couldn't get away from the Legendaies, their power, their influence, she was always in the middle of it all. She'd rather a friend in the middle of it all again.

TLDR: Kaida jumps on her Araquanid and rides it after Alexei Ivanov down Terminal 2. Araquanid uses Mirror Coat as a preemptive defense.

They bent, and for a moment, Kaida worried that she had made the wrong decision. Svart and her were going to die, and it was all her fault. Fading out of consciousness, they both awoke with a start in mysterious surroundings. Kaida spared her surroundings a glance, then returned her Yamega as a mysterious person's image appeared, expecting some kind of attack.

Instead, her world was rocked. She was going to be responsible for the death of all universes...how? She didn't even know how to do that!

Didn't stop you from destroying the tree. Her bitter voice had a delightful sense of timing.

She was not one to freeze, however. When the Porygon lashed out, she threw down a Pokeball, jumping behind the giant spider that burst out. Edder was a Pokemon that she noted was a protective sort, she only hoped he was as reliable as an Onix. Indeed, a sudden Wide Guard manifested, the spider looking around in bewilderment as it guarded those near it.

A word game seemed much too simple, and Kaida feared what a wrong answer would bring. Nonetherless, her answer slithered out of her throat.

TLDR: Kaida is thrown into the cyber world, and returns Yamega when they start getting information. She releases Araquanid and has it use Wide Guard, blurting out the answer to the riddle in the process.

Despite her own weaknesses with riddles, Kaida wasn't distressed over it. No, there was a different problem afoot. illeana reyes and other familiar faces were nearby, and her feet were rooted to the floor. Before, she would have rushed over, bade her Yamega and her to help, but not with the voices in her head.

You're nothing like them.

Spoken in a voice she had never heard before, yet possessing her own bite and snarl. Yes. She already knew, and she could do this on her own, couldn't she? Whether it was as something other than human, or a Ranger, she was a different person, wasn't she? Something was speaking in her ears, and she wanted to laugh out loud. Of course monstrous voices were here to help her. She had survived a monster back at that church, the war, everywhere, perhaps she had picked up a bit of them.

"Over there, it's the right one...I think."

She releases her Yamega with a whisper, sounding less sure than she felt. A strange creature like her, in possession of strange beasts and items, probably wouldn't be allowed to die just yet...and if it happened, it was surely because there were more important people than her.

Insectoid claws wrapped around her waist, and the two set off, hovering only a moment before diving into the north whirlpool.

TLDR: Kaida sees illeana reyes , but doesn't approach. Since recent events, she feels very different from other people. She hears the hint and sends out Yamega, diving into the north whirlpool with it.

WHAT IS THE CORRECT DAY?: Yesterday.

She could scarcely believe her ears...her mind? A trainer not having control over his Pokemon, yet possessing a strong bond with was...rare to say the least. Her own Pokemon had acted with liberty before, but only when her life was in danger. She suspected they didn't want her to face death a second time. She almost faltered in sympathy for them.

Almost.

"Can he hear us?"

Regardless whether he could or not, she continued, fangs bared in her words.

"You aren't human, but I know you think, same as me and Kobe. I know you heard me when I said we don't fail. I meant it, in missions, protecting my partners, protecting pokemon. Its all I ever am. A Ranger."

Her teeth grinded, and she jerked her head as if towards the Sableye.

"That includes every Pokemon, even if they attack me. I thought you'd be the same, to be working with me."

She was a Ranger, here, saving a human who got into this situation of his own volition. She would have thought they could be a trainer, protecting Pokemon like a Ranger.

"Never, ever work with me and kill a Pokemon that I can protect you from. I won't stand for it."

She could release herself from her anger, not quickly. Clutching at her sleeves as if to strangle it away, she nonetheless turned to follow the Sableye.

"No. I will finish this with you. So that we can bury our enemy here...and-" She sighed, "And so I can make my apologies. People tell me it's rude to leave things unsaid, or let friends tell of an apology."

Kaida follows with little fanfare, understanding that their mission was reliant on quelling the crowd. If they ended up inciting violence, they failed. She’d just have to adapt, same as ever. As Greyson released his Pokemon, she inclined her head in a short bow.

“Hello. Thank you for helping.”

She was possibly more respectful to the Pokemon than she was to most people. After listening to Greyson’s idea, she added her own input.

“Can you hide Ormr so he isn't visble, then? If we find any enemies, or we are in danger, I want him near.”

The Ekans was an avid user of Glare and large enough to restrain most humans, but she knew they’d raise a panic if he had to protect them in broad sight. It was better for him to be invisible. Most people were frightened of the serpent already.

Greyson Connors

Kaida scratched her head, looking awkward about the concept Greyson described.

“I’m not good at talking to people, I’m a Ranger, Pokemon are easier than that. I think I look angry.”

Pokemon tended to have survival on their mind. They sought out safety and food, and sometimes territory. Humans could riot for an imagined sense of failing safety, desire for newness, or just because they wanted to riot. She supposed it could be a cry for attention, but she couldn’t understand that either. Attention had never meant good things for her.

“I don’t think so?”

Except for the grey shirt making him recognizable, the man was just another man to her. Her eyes wandered like a curious child’s. Never staying in one place, reluctant to focus on one thing.

“I can’t tell from faces. I’m sorry.”

Had the man been wearing anything but that grey coat, she’d have likely lost him.

“Who…who do you think he is?”
