Why was everyone so sad these days!? The notion of a previous disaster bubbled in the back of Rex's mind, but grasping the severity of it was not on his list of priorities. No, today, Two and him were having some fun!

Two's claws extended as he released her, a gurgle shaking her as she looked about eagerly. In the early morning, there was rarely someone to see them, they could play around as much as they liked. "Let's start, Two."

"Three. Three? Three, you-oh, you idiot." Rex's voice held a resigned tone to it because, in reality, he was not surprised that such a small brain did not make a smart move. For Three whipped its head around and followed the arching electricity, even watching it as it raced towards it from the side...whereupon Three snorted and stomped on the little lightning, and then had the audacity to look shocked (pun not intended) when its leg stiffened as if held by chains, moving only with forceful effort.

Impotent frustration filled Three's eyes with tears as it wobbled, and Rex suddenly drew away from the cage and slammed his hands over his ears. A wise choice, given the noise that came out of the Cranidos. As if crying, it let out a horrific squeal, the Screech shaking the cage through sheer force of sound. Even with a leg that refused to move decisively, the Cranidos continued to limp forward, trying to close the gap between the Pikachu and it as it wailed.

"Oooh, well, he got you beat in the style department, huh?" Rex nearly laughed out loud at the Cranidos' offense at the Tail Whip, and he shook the cage to get its attention. "Well, what are you waiting for? Go get 'em! Chip Away!" Angered as it was, his Pokemon was glad to obey, and launched forward.

In all honesty, he was less confident in the little dino than he would have been otherwise. Three was fast, yet strong, perfect for fighting big, lumbering beasts he could run circles around. A little Pikachu that looked quite scrappy was not in that category.

...but Three didn't need to know that, and wouldn't know how to deal with such a fact anyway. Three did what only a Cranidos knew how to do, break everything. It's charge towards Sparx seemed on the verge of missing, and then suddenly it lashed out with a kick, a comparatively weaker attack as it shot past the Pikachu, but valuable for testing and breaking through defenses.

No, seriously, what was this beauty? Between the flashing lights, mean looking Pokemon, and some tough personages, he wasn't sure what he liked the most! For the hundredth time, he thanked his lucky stars he signed up for this task. "Ensure the Battle Tent stays lucrative" sounded boring, but what it really meant was shake things up as a new competitor! Of course he'd win though, but nobody needed to know that!

"Hey, Three." The Cranidos let out a squawk and looked up at his suddenly wild-eyed face, twitching with an almost paranoid yet excited energy, and it looked up at him adoringly, "Show them not to mess with us."

And as a battle ended and the cage was opened wide for new fighters, a little prehistoric beast snorted and kicked, ready for battle.

A trainer who's more than a little fanatic about battling, by Pokemon battle or otherwise.
Tends to sell off Pokemon that aren't aggressive, makes money this way and keeps aggressive Pokemon for his own battles.
A bit of a lazy mutt of a man.
Overtly friendly, but never actually close to anyone.[break][break]

WHAT THE LEAGUE KNOWS[break][break]

Literally a nobody, kept his head down and thus, is only known as a trainer that occasionally gives out Pokemon.

WHAT ROCKET KNOWS[break][break]

A grunt who is great for any additional muscle needed, will willingly hurt with both Pokemon and human means.
"Lazy bastard"
Will do the minimum of work, keep an eye on him if you want work done thoroughly. The exception is fights, his favorite job.
Besides his powerful Pokemon, is just a grunt, no real authority ever since he showed up and wanted to be ordered around.

PRIVATE[break][break]

Left his home when he hit his teenage years, and while he wanders, he has a home in Slateport.
Very, very lonely, but in no hurry to remedy this problem.
Thinks being good is far too much work, evil is honestly easier.
Paranoid about being weak, and wants to not be hurt.

Friends

Rex is...a difficult man to be true friends with. Absolutely, his social personality can make one seem a friend, but it's a shallow relationship at best. Rex cannot truly trust many people, and is frightened his own strength isn't enough to protect himself. Due to this, he doesn't like getting too close to others, seeing it as revealing weaknesses. Rockets can expect an ally in him, though.

Enemies

Jealousy and paranoia are not good looks, but Rex wears them. He cannot bear the thought of someone stronger than him, Pokemon or body, and is sure to lash out at them, even if it shows as a trainer wanting to battle more than the norm. He also has loyalty to Rocket, but wouldn't really make enemies out of opposers, seeing it as only part of his job.

Love

Well...he can appreciate beauty in all ways, but in his current paranoia, he cannot actually be with someone beyond a fling. Doesn't stop him from keeping up appearances...and maybe it'll be something special enough to trust...
