"My type of cause if all we gotta do is sit around and sip wine!" Rex chuckled, actually feeling ok about this particular "date". Sure, he got nothing out of it, but there wasn't the utterly irritating run around on trying to convince someone love wasn't happening in a speed date! "I can get behind that, cause, come on, what're we gonna get here but free food and company!"

Abruptly, a ring interrupted his thoughts. "Wow, is it getting shorter?" He commented irritatingly, waving Three up on its feet, "Come on, we gotta meet out next date. See ya, keep up the good fight for this "cause"."

"Galar?...Eh, you look the travel type." Rex commented, smart people always looked the type, he supposed. They actually had time to live in other places, he himself thought he'd never leave Hoenn. "Weird curses...

So they were getting sand in their eyes over that? "Ugh, and they couldn't send us with a Gardevoir or nothing, couldn't day. Buncha rocks better mean something good."

He didn't linger long in the helping department, but not him personally, "Hey One, what are you standing around for? It's gonna take forever if we let that mutt do the work, get in there!" He commanded, doing nothing to actually assist as the prehistoric beast hesitatingly stepped forward, and promptly used Ancientpower to start lifting the sand into clumps that swirled around it, clinging them away with flaps of its wings.

Huh. Smart.

In the moment they were about to plunge, Gavin's words reminded Rex just in time to put the rollercoaster's restraints down, clinging to his seat as it fell fast enough to leave his stomach somewhere up there.

Naturally, Rex was gone as soon as the employees started urging them to leave and apologizing. He did say he was hungry, and disappearing among the crowd seemed a way better idea than answering questions about a Floatzel that appeared on the ride.

He did find the time to wave as he left towards Gavin, he wasn't a monster, after all.

Under the wings of an Aerodyctal, Rex had some kind of cover, though sand still somehow found its way to his mouth. In this situation, he actually didn't bother to talk, not that the silence would last long the moment the Steelix managed to tame the storm.

One nearly looked completely brown thanks to the sand coating it, and promptly shook like a dog, immediately coating Rex in the very thing he was trying to avoid. "Ah! Just mess me up, why don't you, One!?" He spat, hands shaking up his sand-clogged hair as he desperately tried not to swallow the dry sand. His irritation was so recent, he didn't even have time to comment on the shiny Steelix, though he'd later wonder if all shinies were gold.

"Hey, ya mind telling me what the hell we're doing here, before I have to say something about that "bloody"? We're looking for...rocks, right?"

"Hm," The way Rex paused, he didn't seem to expect to have to clarify things and raised his hands to wave at his surroundings, "It feels like a joke when we're sitting up here, and I don't exactly like people breathing down my neck during a talk...makes my skin crawl." He could have no idea who was listening and thanks to that, he couldn't specify anything, compare anything to...you know, actual life.

"I just don't need the whole world hearing what I say. So...there's no way to say what I think." Muscle to be moved, that's what he needed to be. People hearing what he had to say was wrong, a dog talking would sure be freaky, and he didn't need that sort of attention.

He felt a rumble of movement and hastily flicked the cigarette away, suddenly smiling once more, "Ooh! Did ya feel that? Miracles of miracles, we're moving! Thank Arceus, I might be lucky yet! We're not dying today!" He babbled and praised over the collective sighs of the other strangers, and looked back at Gavin. "Hey there, buddy. Let's talk on a job or something, I'm tired of breathing other people's air."

"Please don't, I hate for manners to hold anyone back." Rex encouraged eagerly, accepting the card with barely contained glee. A card, that was quaint! Smelled like flowers, though. Was this guy rich? He felt rich.

"A gift? That's sweet. I'll be sure to remember." His smile was one of victory and satisfaction. First date here, and he already had a serious number? It was almost too good.

As if on cue, the buzz signaling time was up sounded. Nothing but a bunch of party poopers, these organisers. Didn't even let the dates get fun. "I'll see you later, my jackpot!" Rex announced, tucking the card into his pockets. He would definitely want this later.

Did I ever catch his name?

"Shiny...?" Rex's eyes lingered on the pup a little while longer, beaming, "Never seen them, they look neat." Now he just wanted one of his own!

"So, ya looking for love or something "swell" like that here?" He tested the conversations, "I'm just here for some nice food and nice face...haven't been wrong to come here yet!"

And he got to see a shiny! He knew what he'd be looking for now!

Three squawks out an excited cry as two beings approach the table, just about the run at them, and then Rex barks out, "Three, quit being a freak, calm it!" The Cranidos stomps its foot like a disgruntled child, but ultimately listens and returns to Rex's side, casting a glance over its shoulder at the Growlithe.

Rex, possessing just enough reason to care about manners and chivalry, rises from his chair and pulls out the opposite, "Yeah, I'm your date, hope ya remember me after this! I'm Rex, nice to meet you!" Nice to see you.

Whether his attempt at manners was accepted, he put on the wide smile he always had. He didn't know who he was talking to, to be honest, blind to importance, but not blind to a beautiful woman. "Did you paint your pup gold?" He started suddenly, flipping back into his chair, "Most people make their makeup gold for something like this, but I guess you don't need to worry about the Furfou primping up most people do. It's great!"

"Well, that's true. Dying now doesn't seem a good time, I got so much to do!" That stupid lie flowed easily as smoke. Much to do? Like what? Fight some more, and more, and more.

Rex peered over the edge of the coaster, narrowing his eyes and sending a tiny bit of ash down to the water, as if testing the distance. "Not that stupid." He sneered, "I'm not looking to die, or get cops breathing down my neck." His eyes rolled over to where the ride started, where a couple of engineers and the like had been gathered for the last few minutes, "'sides...they look like they got this." The employees efforts seemed to be bearing fruit, if their fiddling with the controls was any indication.

"You know, this talk would gave been way more "enlightening" if we weren't on a rollercoaster."

The sudden laughter is contagious, and Rex presses a hand into his forehead as his shoulders shook in shared amusement. "Had to give it a go, one in a million chance, I could have been crazy enough to like it!" The smoky air swirled around him, buffeted away from him by waving hands from the other passengers, not too pleased to have to share the air with the two.

"That's the thing, who wants to die slow, and by this disgusting crap?" He pointed at the smoking stick, still making no effort to get away from it, "That's about as boring as sitting up here!"

He reclined back and, not one to give up, gave it another try. Still awful, still smoky. "Speaking of dying, I'm gonna die. Of boredom if these idiots don't get us down soon."

Rex catches the pack easily enough and, already knowing it was a bad idea, lit one with the type of casualness reserved for opening a can of soda, not lighting a cancer stick.

Eh. You only live once, and the boss said death was his enemy. So let's get its attention.

And yes, it was awful. Eye-watering, itchy lungs type of awful that resulted in him doubled over coughing on his first drag. "Wow...its awful!" He heaved between coughs, still refusing to let go of the cigarette. "Hey...buddy, catch." He wheezed, flinging the pack and lighter back together, much like Gavin had thrown it.

"Is this how you lose your heart? Cause there gotta be easier ways." His rambling nature took over, like being stuck 50 ft in the air with him wasn't bad enough, "Like kicking a puppy...or gouging it out..."

He wasn't stopping though, no, what would he do to ease the boredom then?

Well, this was a bummer.

After a brief (but amazing looking) first date, Rex wasn't even sure he wanted to stick around...but you know, what if he met jackpot #2? Then that was two people he had the choice of! That'd be even more amazing!

So here he sat, chin cradled in one hand as Three ran circles around his table. He thought Three was having a sugar rush, and at least it was cute when it was doing something stupid like this. Pass the time without having to order a bottle of wine could happen, who knew?

2. Likes furious Pokemon, and has a preference for old fossils, as they lived doing nothing but fight.

3. Has a fighting style that resembles an amateur boxer with a desire to harm. Go for the nose!

4. His name means King Dragon, and he likes to say he inherited his parents laziness, because clearly that name was lazy.

5. Ran away from home as a teenager, after facing forgetfulness and neglect from parents. Doesn't regret it.

6. Spends his money constantly, he rarely has any savings, and will spend it on any vice as soon as possible.

7. A miracle he has an apartment, always scraping together enough money to pay for it, through legal or not means.

8. Lazy, lazy, lazy! Yet also simultaneously bored. Much as he enjoys napping all day, when he decides he wants excitement, he looks for it or takes a job...but is known for doing the bare minimum.

9. Vices include alcohol, which he will find a way to get, food, especially the extravagant sort, and he has found a habit of using whatever vice is nearby whenever facing a bored spell.

Being able to stretch sure was nice but, even after hastily returning Five before someone on the ground could spot it, Rex still didn't know what to do.

...except maybe make another bad decision, another bad habit.

"...Mind throwing me one? Never got one before...gotta be good if there's whole packs of them." He asked boredly, if there was anything he could do to make this go by faster, he'd do it, damn his lungs.

Cause he had a feeling he was to be here a lot longer.
