The fall of his Starmie represents one thing and one thing alone: an opening. The opportunity she sought and personally created despite the sudden aid from Raziel Beckett’s side. It happens with a simple gesture, a flick of her wrist, and then gravity shifts once more.

He is pulled down towards the ground - along with anyone in his close proximity - but mostly in an attempt to force his arms by his sides, as far away from his pockets as possible. A second combatant showing up this easily?

Regardless of whether if Raziel Beckett’s Ultra Beast opts to attack, Katherine continues, a sense of urgency settling upon her once realization kicks in: she can’t count on Laurence Anderson for help. The man would attack only as a last resort, and even then, he’d likely only do it if he’s forced to. As always, she is by herself.

The FRAGMENT begins its transformation just as her eyes narrow down, figuring what is transpiring right in front of her. Fuck. She was right. ”This isn’t enough to convince you either, is it? Nothing is going to convince you, because your minds are already made up.”

As it stood, the titan was coming back.

“Fine. Be my guest. Lars, it's time to wake up. If you don't want this thing to resurrect itself and slaughter your people— your rangers— then fucking do something!”

Dragapult’s assault comes in the form of flames, spectral orbs of WILL O WISP shoot in the direction of both the slowed down Buzzwole (thanks to the shift in gravity) and the (hopefully?) somewhat locked down Adrian Malcolm. They can both burn, they can both suffer, and the new regirock can finish the job itself if it wishes to. She won’t lift a hand to help either of them.

Only, and only if they’ll decide to see reason, then so will she. But until then, their fates are sealed.

A smile follows her words, lips curling in an almost mischievous manner. When dealing with someone like Fernando, she likes to tease and prod. When someone is this insistent on keeping people at arm’s reach, when someone is this stern, cold, and even calculated…

There’s that age-old, familiar desire of hers. She seeks to elicit a reaction and spark an emotion, be it good and be it bad.

She says at last, if only to avoid having him repeat it. She didn’t need redundant praise or affection (of this type). Especially not from him. She bathes in the warm sunlight, rosy skin turning a darker shade of peach.

And then, completely unprovoked, one of the nearby Dreepys is assaulted and kicked into submissision by her ultra beast. Pheromosa unleashes her wrath time and time again, kick after kick. The alien’s merciless nature reveals itself each time a wild pokemon faints.

A smile takes to Katherine’s lips at the sound of both Fernando and Razz’s words. It grows ever so slightly following the Ranger’s comment.

“Mm. Yeah. Twice in passing.” She repeats, her tone daring and her voice teasing. Their last encounter, in the tomb of the titan, wasn’t a meeting she’d describe with a smile on her face, but she finds amusement thinking about it now. She wasn’t as angry anymore. She held a slight grudge still, but nothing more than what she felt towards most people.

Instead of reaching for the bottle, a light gesture beckons it closer. Gravity is distorted as the bottle is pulled away from where Fernando had set it. Once it finally reaches her, she steals a sip.

“Razz is quite the formidable trainer too, you know? I’ve seen him in action myself.”

With their shadow sneak disabled, there aren’t many ranged options for the Mimikyu to utilize in battle. In other words, they’d have to wait out both the burn and the curse - and see which of the two manages to survive the longest.

The COPYCAT manifests its power in a brilliant FIRE BLAST that soars across the arena until clashing with the ninetales’ own, exploding loudly. Ash and smoke settle upon the field, making it almost appear as though Kat had a farmer’s tan, for a second.

Once more, the two are at a standstill.

A sigh of relief escapes through Katherine’s lips at the sound of Melody’s words. Phew. She didn’t make things worse. This freaked her out a little - there was still plenty of information about the beasts that she’s yet to unravel.

Despite the fact she thought she had figured them all out already, it was as far away from the truth as possible. Hell, she hadn’t even seen the creature fight in its own domain-- ultra space. What then? When the stars finally align, would it affect their bond?

Would it cause pain to her too?

“Erm… actually, it’s classified,” she doesn’t stop to think for too long, however. “But i guess you’re probably authorized to know, anyways. It helped me fend off the thing that caused the blackout of slateport.”

In other words, it’s good. It’s not another alien pokemon that had to be tamed— it chose katherine.

The tree reacts within moments, retaliating in response to the arrival of the intruders. It’s half expected, considering Priam’s warnings and her previous encounter with a similar tree but still, Katherine is caught off guard.

”Yuck,” she stomps on a branch that seeks to curl around her ankle, swiftly freeing herself before it can secure a tight grip on her. Both Sableye and Mimikyu act then, the former casts an ICY WIND as its partner uses its shadow to saw through the flora, and leaf piles.

“I don’t know if it wants your pokemon, Priam,” Katherine mentions, eyes averting from the tree towards the ultra beast momentarily. ”i think it just doesn’t want anyone here. Too close to it. it’s…”

What a stupid, inconsiderate, unhelpful friend he was. Between making their boat sink and forcing her to deal with it, he dares to accuse her of making his dogs feel bad. As if she was the problem here. As if!

”Hey, doggy,” she doesn’t think twice before directing her focus to the Mightyena that was still on the boat, gravity shifting ever so slightly to tip the boat aside so she can push the dog off. “Bye, doggy. Swim for a bit, alright?” Yes. She dares to sacrifice his pokemon. If he brought it upon them, then he ought to pay the price, too.

Then again, his dog can probably swim just fine. It can handle it. Even the wreckage in the lake won’t stop it.

Once more, her focus shifts to the portals, gravity bending to her will as she stirs them out of harm’s way. One hand maintains focus on their path ahead, and the other fishes a Pokeball out of her pocket. For a moment, her hand is drawn towards the same knife-- the ink spreads. But it doesn’t deter Katherine from doing what she needs to do.

A confused Smeargle joins the fray. “Fix the boat.” Plain, simple, and totally not a request that demands the poor pokemon to abuse the godly power of minor time manipulation. It comes at a great cost, too, as the after-effects of ROAR OF TIME weren’t quite fully discovered. As long as it fixes their boat, right?

A SKETCH of the Mightyena’s thief takes place, further providing devolution stones in order to help it, or perhaps even so it can keep a souvenir. Nevertheless, the Smeargle is recalled once its job is finished, and the Mightyena is allowed to return (should Kyle help it up, at least, because she wouldn’t touch a wet dog).

We don’t overstay, we don’t try to catch one of the pokemon, and we definitely don’t go for the honey.”

She was no scientist or magic expert - so the both of them will likely have to improvise. Great. Isn’t that just fun?
