June took a seat in one of the empty stools, Jet following quickly after and hopped onto the woman’s lap and took a seat himself. As June’s eyes began to wander about the room, stopping once she spotted the photos of the beauty contest, she subconsciously grabbed at the bunny’s cheek.

She pinched them lightly much to the annoyance the Scorbunny who swatted at her hands which only made her move from the cheeks to his ears. June’s mind would have been preoccupied thinking about what she had heard about that event if Bailey had begun speaking about the cadet’s file.

Her eyes widened a bit, she wanted June to give her a what? She wasn’t prepared for this and almost got irritated at the idea of it.

”I’m quick on my feet, a fast learner, good with the books and not too shabby at battling either. And a real hard worker.” As she spoke of her good qualities Jet had stood up and throw his little fists in the air in front of him and made a fierce face.

His way of backing up her claims of being a good fighter came off more cute than intimidating but he was trying his best.

Talking about what she was good at was the easy part but what she wanted to get better at was a bit more difficult to put into words.

Or rather if she was being more honest she didn’t like talking about areas she wasn’t all that great at, especially not ones where she had been yelled at for in the past and prevented her from getting the position she had coveted.

”Don’t have much experience out in the field actually doing real officer work, that’s where I’d like to get better at the most.” She was so tired of doing boring bullshit grunt work and wanted to finally do something exciting.

Bailey Cooper

June decided to take a break under a tree for some much needed shade. It was nice at first but June began to think it was a bit odd to find a random tree in the middle of a desert-like this.

So she stood up and inspected the tree to find that it wasn’t a tree but instead a Pokémon.

”Yeah okay it’s time to go home now.” Finding this treasure or whatever wasn’t worth dealing with this crap anymore.

”Nice shot!” June said praising her Duraludon, giving the dragon an enthusiastic thumbs up. Even though they didn’t completely annihilate the crab Noah’s reaction made up for it, now if only she could have gotten a picture of it.

Honestly, she was surprised that her opponent’s Pokémon was still up and moving. It hadn’t taken a direct hit but even clipped by the attack wasn’t something you can just walk away from all willy nilly, June was impressed.

But clearly it was time to throw in the towel for the Crabominable, the way it was barely moving was just sad.

”Wait for it to get close and then meet our friend with a Breaking Swipe!” The Duraludon shifts from its cannon-like position and stands upright, watching as the Crabominable comes closer.

Once in range, the dragon meets the crab’s fist with its large tail. Time to see which one of them was packing more strength behind their swings.

”Wait you actually believed all that rubbish?” She really shouldn’t have been all that much surprised as stranger things have certainly happened but to her, this sounded completely ridiculous. June shrugged at his concerns about wanting to get the jump on them.

”They’re just a bunch of little gremlins, nothing to get so worked up about.” She at least put her phone away and began to pay more attention to the ranch they were supposed to be protecting. She was still pretty skeptical about all of this but she’d at least check it out and how knows maybe the beheeyem were actually going to show up.

But all she could really make out in the dark was nothing but dirt and farm, boring.

”Maybe the Beheeyem just want to make some burgers or something.” June joked. And then almost as if they heard her there was a sudden appearance of a few shadowy figures in the distance.

”What are those?” She squinted as if that would help distinguish who and or what these figures were.

”Maybe now you’ll get your chance to ask them why.” June said, pointing in the direction of the shadowy figures. She wasn’t really the type to sit around and have someone else do her dirty work so she started slowly and carefully move towards the figures.

Cautiously June and her little squad of dogs ventured deeper into the haunted home, looking for any sign of their spectral friends.

”Children?” June wasn’t sure why specifically children but she supposed that the other woman knew more about ghost Pokémon in that specific regard than she did but she’d keep an eye out.

Thea seemingly had a better opinion of these ghosts Pokémon than June did. In her experience when ghost Pokémon lingered about it was because they thought the place they were hanging around it was an easy spot to mess with people like the pricks they are.

Finding a kid’s room was going to be a bit more difficult, or at least time consuming than either would probably assume due to how big the house was. Just turning the corner and seeing the sheer amount of space had June rolling her eyes and scoffing.

”Of course.” She shook her head and kept moving. Suddenly her Boltund would bark and charge ahead, running into a room nearby.

”Touma!” Her calls wouldn’t change much as the canine kept going and all she could do was chase after.

”What’s gotten into yo-“ As she entered the doorway something was already hurling towards her only giving her a second to move.

From the quick glimpse that she managed to get before she dove out of the way was of her Boltund fighting something. ”Oh these ghosts better have a good reason for being here!” The damn thing just flung a desk at her.

”Let’s go back Touma up.” June said to her Growlithe, the Pokémon nodding in agreement. The two then charged into the room to assist the Boltund in its fight.

First there was that hippo and now, here was this strange plant thing with eyes. June had absolutely no idea what sort of Pokémon this was but it seemed….friendly?

At least enough that it wasn’t trying to attack her outright but something about it was off.

”Alright then have a nice day plant.” She keeps her distance away from it and continued moving. This place was almost as weird as the wild area in terms of Pokémon that appeared.

”Hmm?” She hadn’t been paying much attention to where she was going but when her metal detector had gotten stuck causing her to walk into and practically punch herself in the gut.

”What the hell?” She looked down while trying to pull the detector as it was stuck in the sand. But the more and more she pulled on it the more difficult it got.

”Let go of it!” June growled as she made one last effort to pull the rod out of the ground using all of her strength. This time she was victorious but the effort caused her to fall over.

Out of the sand came a Hippopotas which kicked some sand at her and waddle off.

”Well fuck you too then!” When she managed to pick herself off the ground she made an attempt to get all the sand off but it’d be ultimately a futile attempt. There was going to be sand everywhere.

”Some of the best in the world!” June replied with a smile, looking over to her Duraludon.

Her posture up until this point had been lax and conveyed a sense of energy and enthusiasm but it shifted once her dragon was out and she was eager to see Noah’s next move. Now she stood straight, arms crossed and a firm, confident look grew on her face.

”Well let’s hope your training gives us a challenge then!” Her eyes moved from Noah and his crab to the Duraludon in front of her, the Pokémon awaiting a command from the young lady.

Noah’s Crabominable attacked, another Bubble Beam, the site of the move made her smile wider. ”Let’s show em’ what you're made of! Brick em’.” The Duraludon began to move, picking up its feet and steadying its stance as it then hunkers over, placing its hands on the ground to hold itself up.

The dragon’s maw then opened, silver energy gathers for a split moment before it is unleashed in a bright silver beam of energy. This FLASH CANNON flies straight for the Crabominable going in the same path as the bubble beam.

Someway somehow June was hoodwinked into taking a job in which she had to help find some lost treasure in the desert. Maybe it was the pay that she was going to be receiving from a job well done?

Well that would normally be the case but she for the life of her couldn’t even remember what she was being paid but it had to be a lot because she was chomping at the bit to get to it. But now, here she was walking through this cursed sandbox with a metal detector.

”If I don’t die from this heat I’m going to bloody kill myself for being tricked into this!”

Solo wild

The first sign that something was awry came from June’s two canines. Both had stopped in their tracks and began growling, taking a stance as if they were ready to pounce.

”Hmm?” The cadet didn’t have time to question her pups reactions as they entered the kitchen, the sound of shattering glass did a good job at pulling attention.

”What the hell?” June cursed as she took a moment to survey the kitchen. But there was nothing for her to see outside of a relatively normal kitchen, if not a bit big compared to what she’s used to.

”R-right.” June managed to say in reply to Thea. The other woman was surprisingly calm given what had just happened, or perhaps June was overacting given she was convinced there was nothing here.

One canine followed June as she inspected the glass as the other began barking down the hallway that Thea was also paying attention to. There was no real explanation at hand for what caused the crashing glass outside of the obvious of them not being alone. But was it actually a ghost? That’d explain why it seemed like the culprit disappeared in a blink.

The thought that the building was actually haunted by ghosts simultaneously made June anxious and annoyed the hell out of her. ”Just my bloody luck for this place to actually be haunted!” She’d groan as she moved from the glass to the hallway.

”Alright then let’s go deal with these bellends. Stay close Thea.” June, with all the gusto in the world began to walk down the hallway after the shadowy figure with her two dogs completely oblivious to the fact that perhaps they weren’t alone even now.

Great, any chance of bailing now was out of the question! Well, she still could in spite of the other woman’s words but June would feel pretty guilty about it. In her mind, she cursed while in the physical world she rubbed the back of her neck.

”Yeah I guess you’ve got a point.” She sighed. And she supposed it’d make for a more convincing story to say that she actually check at least someplace before bailing. What sort of luck did she have to run into someone who would actually make some sense? Her luck had been pretty rubbish as of late.

”It’s not that big of a deal, at least I don’t care about you being here.” June shrugged. But there was still the matter of what to do with her that weighed on June’s mind.

”Well then, Thea, if you’re curious then I guess you can tag along.” The cadet added, motioning for her canine’s to follow her. After a few steps, however, she turned around to face the older woman.

”But don’t go wandering off on your own alright? You seem to have a handle on ghosts so I’ll need you to help in case something “spooooky” happens.” June started off serious at first but it quickly turned into a laugh at the end.

”Oh and my name’s June. And these two pups are my little ghost hunters.” And with that she headed to the kitchen first.

This was a complete and utter waste of her time and she had half a mind to just turn back now and tell the client that she hadn’t found anything. That was her thought until she found that she wasn’t the only person in the building.

June wasn’t familiar with this woman but given that no one else was really supposed to be here the young cadet figured maybe this was some sort of maid or something, or this was a ghost playing tricks on her.

And a ghost would say they’re not a ghost to get the jump on you, June wouldn’t fall for their tricks.

All jokes aside June shrugged in response to the blonde’s question.

”I have no bloody idea, just showed up.” She answered, looking around what she assumed to be the foyer.

She assumed because she hadn’t really been in a house this big and who the hell ever says foyer unless you’re in a big fancy place like this.

”But it’s my job to figure out if this place is infested with em. And who just might you be? No one’s supposed to be here.”

June clenched her fist as the Scorbunny made contact with the Crabominable ”Alright! Ace shot, Jet!” But the crab was much tougher than that, it was a pipe dream to think it’d go down after just one successful blow.

Where the miscalculation was had to deal with Noah’s Pokémon attacking back as soon as it was.

”Shit! Get out of the way, Jet! ” The Scorbunny in question panicked and while it tried to get out of the way it fired off an Ember attack but despite the bunny’s efforts it was unfortunately caught by the Crabominable’s attack.

Now Scorbunny’s were built for speed, they were not bulky Pokémon in the slightest, which is why the crab’s attack was so devastating. And enough so that the little bunny would be out of commission, June then quickly returned the Pokémon back into its capsule.

”You’ll get em’ next time champ.” She said to the capsule before putting it away and exchanging it for another.

”Hmm can’t say I’m really surprised it’s come down to this. Hell I’d be disappointed if it didn’t! I hope you’re ready bodyguard because here comes the showstopper!” June boasted before throwing the capsule in her hand into the air.

Once it reached its apex the ball opened, releasing down a beam of light that took the shape of a rather large Pokémon. ”Been a while since I’ve used this big bloke.” She remarked, smiling as she looked upon her Duraludon that had now fully materialized.

”That crab of yours won’t even be able to make a dent in his metal!”
