A brow lifts as he brings the drink to his lips, long sips taken while he let his opposition get his words out, clear and concise.

He hums, swallowing the gulp held in his mouth before speaking.

“I think you know just was well as me how hard it is to trust you.”

“But at this point, it’s either allow you to make decisions on your own and hope you make the correct ones, or monitor you 24/7. I’m thinking of going for the latter, honestly.”

He held a smile but his words carried a truth with them, his eyes peering at Fernando from the side.

“Just keep us in mind before you make any hasty decisions. Being in the know makes it so at least I can provide some sort of assistance.”

Though if it was another situation where he felt the needed to show dominance a hard pass would once again be thrown his way- as it was the first time around.

The ren-faire was certainly something that had always caught Kim’s attention. The people, the fun, the attractions, everything that had been displayed had a way of making your heart full of giddiness and enjoyment. But what made Kim want to participate most was not the attractions, it wasn’t the exhibition of foods that splayed at every turn, and it certainly wasn’t the more barbaric attraction of testing your metal against another. No, it was something more tame than all of those, it was the need to dress up in.

So he did, the councilman taking the very best out of his closet and dressing up as something that suited someone of his caliber; a prince.

Though most of the finery's were forgoed, his clothing still cemented the role he was so eager to portray, a prince from a different region come hoenn to celebrate their festivities.

Though that was as far as he went with his role-playing, doing away with any further than appearances.

He wandered the fairgrounds, waving to the patrons as he passed, stopping in his tracks when he overhead a familiar and overexcited voice. Quickly making his way to its origin, Kim’s face would light up, the councilman breaking the poised and proper character then rushing up to the woman, lifting her with a bear hug from the front.

“Franny! Why didn’t you tell me you were back in Hoenn?!”

He would not release the girl, refusing to set her back onto the ground until his love had been properly shown, twisting her to and fro as his cheek pressed up to hers.

A stoic smile cracked his otherwise grizzled look, it fading in seconds as he heard a sound.

“Shush.”

He said, setting a finger onto Avery’s lips, quieting down more than likely already quiet girl.

“Did you hear that?”

His eyes avert, looking to where the sound had originated.

“Over there.”

He whispered quietly, slowly moving towards the sound.

It would only take moments for them to come upon a a Grumpig, its back turned to the two of them as it stood over a Yamask, releasing berry juice onto the other pokemon as it laid there, taking it.

Kim cringed, quickly moving away from the scene, waving for Avery to follow.

“They’re doing something nasty, let’s get outta here.”

He would move on, refusing to look back on the disgusting acts they had displayed. Whether Avery decided to stay was entirely up to her, but Kim was having none of it.

Man, it stinks almost as bad as Fernando’s personality up in this bitch.

Did a Wailord wash up on the beach or something because it smells like a straight up dead body.

Maybe fernando farted and thought it would go unnoticed.

Side eyeing him, a trubbish came into Kim’s vision, relieved that his coworker wasn’t rotting on the inside.

But it was a little concerning to see a trubbish at the beach, because it either meant there was trash abound or it had just wandered here randomly.

Either way, he was going to have to put out a notice for people to start properly picking up the trash they leave on the beach some day soon. Maybe even have more garbage cans installed along the shore.

For now he’d turn back to fernando and let out a sigh, begetting any besmirching thoughts for the moment.

“Okay… I’m gonna go find somewhere to relax alone, if you need anything, call someone else.”

Hopping onto the dragonties back he would audibly say, “xoxo” flying off into the distance quickly, leaving fernando to do what he will with the rest of his day.

“That’s fine.”

A simple answer to her request, brushing it off with little hesitation yet equal observation, her words and actions unphasing him in the slightest.

Once they were properly situated in the store Kim would look at her with a confused side eye.

“Invite me over some time so I can see what you’re packing in your wardrobe.”

Quickly, he would move over to a selection he eyed as he entered the store, a multicolored sweater, some bleached jeans, and a pair of chucks. Along the way he picked up a few accessories, wide rimmed sunglasses, matching the multicolored sweater, and a few bangles that clashed with said colors.

Once they were properly picked out he would follow in his previous footsteps, pushing the selections into her hands and escorting her to a dressing room.

“If I got the sizes wrong tell me, otherwise let me see how it all looks together.”

He pauses, briefly eyeing the Silph as if expecting a conformation before continuing, whether he had given one or otherwise.

“These extravagant bitches are always the star and always need to be the center of attention, stopping at nothing until they’re more powerful than their opponents or up a higher echelon than them. It’s always, “i fight for my friends” this or “i’m going to kick your ass that” maybe they even give an emotional speech here or there when they think the cards are down and get a boost in power because of it.”

He taps his glass, chuckling at the thought before resuming.

“Fernando, you are not the main character of an anime. You might think because of everything you’ve gone through and everything you aspire to be makes you one, but in the end, you cannot, and I will not allow you, to live in a world where what you say goes because you think that’s how it should be. Nor will I let you die for your self-absorbed ideals because you’re two wrapped up in them to let them stay ideals.”

The man was more narcissistic than Kim if he decided that his life was of equal importance to an entire region, more willing to die with his pride than to come to a sane conclusion with his peers where his death is not a necessity.

He finished his drink, as watered down as it maybe be, and asked for another, the bartender preparing a refill for the both of them and distributing them swiftly.

“We’re in our seats to solve problems, and you dying would only make more for me, freya morningstar, and dahlia goode, so try to keep yourself alive as long as you can, okay?”

There isn’t much of the old guard left after all.

Holy shit she was actually eating this up.

He couldn’t just come out and tell her that he was looking for a little goofball Mime Jr. at this point, he was too far in. He had to keep up with this act, because as they say, the show must go on.

“This is exactly why I asked for you, Ava-- you know exactly what to do in these situations.”

His voice would waver in the slightest, a chuckle almost escaping as he spoke. But he held it in, refusing to let this act slip away so easily.

He’d turn, composing himself before continuing to interact with her, but he would be faced with a Dusclops, forced to back up a little, slightly startled by the pokemon as he instinctively went for a ball to his side, almost calling out a pokemon before stopping himself.

For a moment he would stare at the ghost- it chuckling at its own mischief making- before speaking up.

“Are you an informant?”

The ghost would halt its movement, standing in place as it titled its head to the side inquisitively.

“Don’t play games with me, I know ghost are in cahoots with the dark carnival. TALK!”

Kim would move closer as he spoke, standing over the pokemon as he shouted out his final command.

The ghost would simply phase out of reality, a peace sign given as it did. The Medicham stood by idly, confused on the situation as it presented itself.

The man would suck his teeth, looking over the Medicham before scoffing.

“The clowns wouldn’t associate with fighting types.”

One final sentence given before pressing along.

“Eventually you’ll come across someone that isn’t as generous with acceptance as myself. Brace yourself for when that time comes.”

Kim was and continues to be self-absorbed, so he knows that people typically adhere to his presence in a likeable fashion when he would make himself known. That does not mean there aren’t people who would take to him less than favorably. FERNANDO SILPH comes to mind in this case.

But, it would not perturb him in the slightest, because as a wise man once said, hoes mad.

“Over there.”

He said in an excited tone, slowly making his way through those that passed by. He could only hope that Avery had kept up, unsure if she would fare well within the crowd.

When she eventually did, Kim would make his way into the store, a variety of pastels seen every which way, a light smell of bubblegum present within the store. What clothing was displayed were simple and modern with a touch of that classic taste to show you that this is exactly where the cool kids shopped.

Kim’s eyed glazed over the options, unsure on what to dress her up in first, so he would do the obvious thing in this case and ask his model for her input.

“Ava, what do you think you’d look best in?”
