The ghost pokemon didn't look any more enthused about Alison's suggestion than he did Andy's. Epitaph also made a face at the idea that he would be dancing. The notion was ridiculous to him. He was just a smoke ball, and perhaps would be that way forever. What got him the most was that if his trainer desired it, he'd be made to try eventually. Epitaph had come to find the boy to be exceptionally stubborn. At least he wasn't cruel however, at least, not to his gastly.

''Your pikachu ain't never going to evolve if it just naps all the time you know.'' A highly hypocritical statement given that Epitaph was by and large allowed to do what he wanted. There were times though... Perhaps such leniency was due to the gastly being fairly active and mischievous on his own. Maybe it would be a different story should he too desire to spend the entire day snoozing, even if it would have made sense.

''But naturally I'm a clumsy nutter,'' he complained observing as his sister moved things along with her natural talent and grace. Still, he attempted to mimic her movements, albeit not particularly well given that it was his first real attempt. Like any impatient child, he wanted to be an expert right then. His sister was, but then she was four years older than him, and four years felt like a million in his mind.

There were times when keeping a low profile was advantageous. Another big todo in the region of Hoenn surely meant that something stupid was going to happen, just like the Spirit Festival. It was only a matter of time until there was an explosion, a rogue pokemon god, or an alien invasion. So this time Andy Blackadder was looking to make his visit here exceptionally brief. Weaving through the crowd, Epitaph in tow within his shadow, he just wanted to snag a couple of those alcreamie cupcakes.

''Quickly now, Taph, before we get caught up in some drab smalltalk bullshit.'' Near enough to the stock of sweets, his gengar utilized poltergeist to snag a few. He wanted one of his own after all, and were his trainer not absorbed within his paranoia (again), he would be present, visible, and practically vacuuming the desserts on offer into his ghostly gullet. As the cupcakes neared Andy fished them out of the air where they hovered and turned to leave, one of his main objectives achieved.

''Genetics.'' He made an easy excuse for his height. His diet was doubtless a contributor however. Perks of having little to no real adult supervision in his life. Doug found a pack of ribs and Andy couldn't argue with the choice, even if his own ribs were injured. ''Oi. If you cook those make them tender. I ain't in no state to be wrestling the meat off the bloody bone.'' The last thing he wanted was to endure great pain for a good meal, especially since in his mind he had already paid the piper.

''Already ate all those.'' Who knew if it were a jest. At any rate there were none to be found. Even if he had hated potatoes, he would have eaten anything at this point. ''In your own time, mate. I ain't ate all day. Could eat a whole horsea right now.'' He didn't want to rush, but his hunger was belaying his typical courteous demeanor. Even the twerking show went largely unnoticed in the face of how famished he was. Hopefully Epitaph would remain absent so he could partake in an even larger share.

Given his possession of vision, the cloud that began to darken Hideo's features was as apparent as a lightning bolt. It seemed as if he had struck a nerve and released the a fount of bitterness. The Blackadder boy had a knack for it he had found. Seeing his young friend spew such things caught him off guard, and his rythem slowed in response, perhaps contributing to the coming kerfuffle. Still, he identified somewhat with the boy's frustrations.

Before any commiserating however, Andy was more concerned with preventing his student from falling on his ass. Letting one of his arms fall, he wrapped it around Hideo's waist to quickly halt his descent towards the stones of the patio. If it wasn't enough there was always Pom, and if that fell short there was the ghostly grasp of Epitaph's poltergeist for an additional layer of protection.

''Are you alright?'' The concern was genuine, although besides a pulled muscle or sprain he doubted much harm could have come from the ordeal. ''Let's take a breather.'' With a nod towards Epitaph, the music halted and Andy led his dance partner over to a step to have a seat. ''I get what you were saying earlier. If you don't let someone learn how to live alone, how the fuck are they going to make it when they actually have to? You've probably already learned a ton as it is.'' He flopped down himself.

''Seems like your folks caring about you is outrunning their observation of fucking reality. I ain't the expert on how to get along with parents. Hell, my sorry ass parents ran off. As much as I like total freedom, it's not all it's cracked up to be sometimes. Remember, you could be like me, or Doug and not really have anyone.'' There was something of an instance of clarity here that caused a sense of loss, but he couldn't put his finger on it, nor did he wish to.

Watching the gym leader converse with the demi-deity pokemon caused a clever smirk to tug at the corner of his mouth. It seemed like the creature would fall for it. For the impressive feat of being able to clearly and accurately communicate with humans, it seemed to be a bit of a dullard. For being irate at what it seemed a huge transgression, it was quite trusting.

Fucking idiot ass pokemon. We should shape this thing into a middle finger A voice that wasn't his own rang through his skull, causing the boy to wince for a moment. No such communication had been attempted like this since Mauville. Thankfully the tone of the words were familiar to him. It was Doug. It seemed the older teen was seriously going to construct a monument to the ringed creature.

I got plenty of water, but no diggers, he responded mentally. Were it that he knew the demands of a day's challenges before they came, but even his claydol's future sight could only take him so far in that regard. Thus far no one seemed to be putting up an argument, although he was unsure rather or not they were actually about to sculpt the monstrosity in front of them, or continue with their bonehead plan of going to space.

A clear blue sky carried the light of mid-morning all across the city of Mauville and the terrain surrounding it. The forecasts had been checked meticulously to ensure that the weather wasn't miserable before the first flier had even been made. Normally Andy would brag on such planning, but for this one occasion he would pretend as if the fine weather was fated for his little excursion. How forgiving karma would have been in that case given the false pretenses under which it was organized.

Arms stretched across the back of a bench just outside Mauville's west gate, only a backpack seated beside him. His glistening white gengar hovered about poking at the potted plants built into the concrete. Epitaph was obviously bored as he glared at a white rose petal, but the Blackadder boy had demanded he leave his typical home within his shadow in order to be more visible to his guests. The deception was regrettable in the case of his friends Hideo and Doug, but they would think him a fool for pursuing a creature like Giratina.

Still, setting this all up had been easier than he thought, though not without its frustrations. Most of his ghost types were as independent as he was, and many plastered his stacks of fliers in places most people would never catch a glimpse of them. Full color pages filled with eye catching graphics and font were not cheap, especially when he had placed an order of five hundred. Narrowing his chocolate eyes at Epitaph, he still suspected his most trusted spook had thrown his stack into the closest garbage can.

What surprised him thus far was not one League goon had shown up to ask questions or shut down his little planned adventure. He wouldn't have been above bribing any low level officer or soldier to stay out of his way, but it was much better that he didn't even have to go through those lengths. Hopefully Doug's presence would ward off any obstructionists should they rear their ugly heads later. Now he only need wait to see who would arrive.

How had he even gotten this far in? With his entire menagerie of pokemon hovering around his camp, the golduck must have been a master infiltrator. Both of the Alolan marowaks standing sentry by the door to his hut flung a bonemerang at the interloper. Upon flattening the water pokemon, the two marched over to grasp at the creature and haul it back to the hut's door, where one rapped upon it. It opened a few moments later to reveal an annoyed Andy Blackadder clad in little more than his underwear.

''Another one in the garden?'' A marowak nodded. ''I'm going to just post Willow back there permanently,'' he spat in irritation as he produced a pokeball from somewhere and pressed it to the golduck's head.
