As the foliage rustled, he looked up to see a misdreavus float through, smelling the aroma of the incense. It didn't smell like anything to him, so he wondered what was actually in it that attracted ghost types specifically. Pulling out his phone, he looked up the pokemon and its abilities, its potential. Casually the misdreavus floated over, looking at the screen with him.

It cooed curiously, and starred a moment before floating off. Andy was starting to be sold on the legitimacy of the incense. While the misdreavus was neat, he wanted to see what other potential ghosts would show up. As it hovered away, its body billowing, he noted that that was probably the chillest encounter he had had with a wild pokemon... probably ever.

The racket eventually prompted the throwing open of one of the two of his little portable shack's doors. Out Andy stepped, clad in little more than socks shoved into sandals, a pair of boxers and a tank top. Chocolate eyes easily sourced the origin of the noises. With a stank face, he stepped back inside to reappear with a pokeball.

Why did I bother to spend the cash on a scarecrow if it doesn't scare shit? The Alolan marowak that he beamed out would show the younger cubone the proper way to throw its weapon, hurling a bonemerang at it. After it beamed off of the cubone's skull to knock it out, Andy threw a pokeball to get the thing out of the way.

Briefly, he was unable to keep the unamused look from his features. Perhaps they were just playing dumb. Although with that hat to complete his current ensemble, perhaps not.

A lack of control over one's pokemon could have disastrous consequences. Not that Andy was about to stand there and lecture the kid over it. Hideo was young, so it wasn't like he was failing at decades of training. Even Epitaph didn't always listen to him. Granted, there had never been in a situation he had encountered where someone tried to do him serious harm.

Andy watched while wondering if the other trainer even knew what it was he was catching, or just slapped whatever he heard with a pokeball. That was one way to do it.

Some pokedexes or similar items would sound off at the sight of wild pokemon if you aimed it at them, though he personally just used an app. No need carrying around an additional electronic. Suddenly the fact that Epitaph had been awfully quiet drew his attention. Looking over his shoulder, he found his ghost pokemon standing in front of a geodude. The latter was flexing its rocky muscles at his pokemon. After he had done his poses, the gengar had responded in kind, flexing his much less impressive nonexistent muscles.

The geodude pointed a craggy finger to cackle at this, and of course the gengar's grin sank into an upset curve. How dare he. Eyes flashing a dazzling array of colors, the geodude limply floated as it fell under hypnosis. Andy chuckled to himself as he walked over, producing another pokeball. He really needed to stop catching these soon, or he was going to run low.

Munching on the krabby rangoon he had ordered while he waited, the crumbs of the crunchy treat littered the lap of his gengar patterned romper. So embarrassed had Epitaph been at the garment, he had actually deigned to stay within his pokeball than be seen with his garish master. The sign across from him on the table read something about V. Hunky.

He had no clue who that was, but surely wasn't a descriptor of the supposed gentleman. The boy couldn't say he was too into muscles, but given who put this event on, perhaps it would be a theme. Then again, he was here, and nothing about Andy was hunky. When he saw the older lady approaching, the chewing ceased.

Given his encounters last time, the Blackadder boy thought he might find more desirable ghost pokemon on Mount Pyre itself. He had climbed only about a quarter of the way before he realized that this was a poor idea. His noodly form was not meant for such athletic pursuits. Briefly, he kicked himself for not flying, but who knew if that would just cause any potential catches to go to ground.

Now that he was here, he sat his backpack on the ground and removed the incense burner that he had picked up. It was advertised to attract only specific types of pokemon. It felt like a scam to Andy; one of those placebo items, but he had gotten two free as a trail. Why not try them then? Worst that could happen is nothing, and there was always the chance for that anyway.
