And here we had a swarm of pokemon causing issues. Again. Andy had never really found any of the slowpoke varieties to be all that threatening, despite knowing better. Still, it was a swarm and any fool creature could pose a greater threat in numbers. And hey, they were all of the Galarian variety, so they were familiar to the boy.

To add insult to injury, Andy drew a pokeball. He didn't have a slowbro, so why not expand his meager collection, even if he didn't immediately see too much use out of the pokemon.

The sight of the alien lady being roasted alive was pretty traumatic. Even if she was a flesh eating monster, she was still a sentient being. Such childish mercy didn't slip around his reasoned logic however. The acrid aroma of seared skin made him queasy, but he still could only think of the part she had played in, to his knowledge, only today's atrocious events.

Yeah... fuck her. Andy thought as she fell like a shooting star. The enemy male immediately lunged at the bespectacled bad-ass and his pokemon in a rage filled revenge, his sudden movements triggered his yanmega to detect in fear for her own precious cargo. The boy still watched the charred megalopolan. ''Damn. I wanted dibs on that jet pack,'' he commented to Ravana.

Despite having a flight capable pokemon, he would have breast fed Hannibal Lecter for a jet pack. Eventually he would be too big for Ravana to carry, or so he hoped. The dark orb that appeared and began to engulf all the fliers, enemy and ally alike, shook him from his loss of potential technology however. Despite the panic slowly filling his mind, he wondered who the fuck threw such a collateral move.

''Rav! Rav!'' He slapped at the yanmega's injured hide for probably the thousandth time that day. Even their airborne reinforcements weren't spared as the darner pokemon tried to juke the growing circumference with a speed boosted detect. But would the tired old girl be quick enough to avoid the black sun setting on their pitch battle?

On the ground, as the giant beast crumpled, Epitaph spots his master's plight and in trepidation charged towards him along the rubber and corpse littered grass, foolishly, but desperately hoping to somehow catch him should he fall, even if such a thing would be physically impossible, the ghost pokemon can't so easily abandon his master, even if he is helpless.

The nasty static shock snapping to Jaw's snoot, causing the creature to shakes his face in the water, as if that would clear it right up. His malice daunted, the shark flitted away back into the darkest depths of the river to get its bearings. There would be a time where he would make a return, but for now the xurkitree's power was too much to bear.

Meanwhile ~~thousands of miles away~~, Andy watched the electric light show from his aerial perch, and thanked his lucky stars that it wasn't him getting the deluxe experience of a fork in a light socket, a mistake he had thankfully missed in his early childhood. Much as before, he had little to offer in ways to deal with the overgrown foe's attacks.

''Yeah, suspicious.'' A purpose slowly began to ebb its way through the fear and hopelessness. He glanced to his other pokemon, ''Epitaph,'' he kept pointing for the creature's crimson eyes to follow. ''Wait until we get close.'' Slapping at Ravana's hard hide again, he commanded her, ''go girl! Go!''

The yanmega buzzed away from their position hovering over the ground, up the height of the lumbering xurkitree as fast as her speed boost would allow. Andy prayed the other trainer's attacks would keep the big bastard distracted enough, enough for him to get close. As they neared the light, he could better see that it was two megalopolans, but these two differed from the others.

''Surprise bitch boys!'' He shouted as they closed the distance. Alas, this was to distract from his gangar's hypnosis targeted at the female from below. Provided that hit, Ravana would follow up with an air slash to hopefully shred the pair and send them tumbling to the ground and whatever hell lay further below.

Hovering nearby the other trainers, yanmega kept her eyes open, hoping to detect any incoming assault. Of course, given the creatures immense size, Andy was sure even the legally blind wouldn't have too much trouble keeping an eye on it. With any luck, this and Ravana's speed boost would greatly further his cause of not dying.

''Gengar, keep punishing it!'' he shouted from his position. This time Epitaph chanced a Hex in the hopes that everything else that was slamming into the overgrown drop cord would amplify his efforts. The boy's chocolate eyes noted the attention that was granted to the ponyta, just as his League counterparts had heal bombed his yanmega just minutes ago.

There was a fleeting wish that he had something useful to offer here, but heals and feels were never something he would admit that he was into, even in a time like this. As it was, he already felt like he had to look every direction at once to keep up, and he it occurred to him that he was probably doing a poor job of it. But then again, who said kids made the mightiest warriors?

The chaos of the portal in the sky hadn't completely escaped his notice, although he had decided not to tamper with whatever bullshit was occurring within that thing. Besides, the appearance of reinforcements commandeered his gaze. Thankfully it seemed like something was going right, or well, well...? It was just high time that it wasn't another enemy trump card that was revealed.

In the water, his brooding sharpedo joined in with the other attackers, his powerful fins carrying him to quickly deliver a 'driveby' slash against the xurkitree's damaged leg. With effort, perhaps the tree could be chopped down. Andy couldn't help but be paranoid about what fresh hell awaited them after this thing was finally felled.

Even if the battle hadn't lasted that long, he felt as if he had been here for years.

The massive explosion at the power plant in the distance drew his attention away from the portal. How could anyone miss such a massive event? It was far bigger than any fireworks display, or movie that he had ever seen. Yanmega still weaved him through the air, though focused her eyes in order to Detect any incoming attacks. Things were just getting a little too spicy for her not to be paranoid.

''What the fuck is even going on,'' he muttered to himself. In the aftermath of the blast, he caught sight of the beefcake from earlier, cast aside with his pokemon. The sight of his ponyta made the boy feel a little queasy. While the guy himself could burn for all he cared, there was no sense in treating pokemon that badly. Of course what were the Megalopolans if not monsters?

''Ah, what the hell?'' The xurkitree emerging like an overgrown power cable that mated with a tree caused Andy to grown in both frustration and disgust. Just how many pokemon do they have stuffed up their ass? He tapped gently on Ravana's marred carapace. ''Over the water, girl.'' With a ''Yanmega,'' she complied.

''Alright Jaws,'' he said to himself as he drew his third and final pokeball once more. ''Time to live up to your namesake.'' And with a flash the sharpedo torpedoed into the river with a ker-splash. Meanwhile, he had Ravana take him over to where some trainers were congregated around the wounded Balder Schwartz, though he stayed a little behind the group. Best to not draw too much attention.

''Epitaph, help out against this overgrown electric ass goblin. We got more important shit to do and it's in the way.'' Although his shadowy pokemon complained with a, ''gengar...'' when they swooped low, the ghost type slid into existence by the rest of the healing crew, and his red eyes focusing on yet another huge threat, let off a Shadow Ball to join in the other attacks buffeting it.

Within the chorus of healing abilities that caressed the exoskeleton of his yanmega, even the ex-gym leader added one of his own. Andy still looked none too grateful. The status of 'even-stevens' was only reachable when equal or greater suffering was visited upon the brute. Bitter as it may be, Balder Schwartz had thus far represented everything he hated about adults.

All about responsibility they were, until it was on them. Of course he noted if he was indeed the selfsame man who had abandoned his post, well, what could he expect? And so he offered only a one finger salute for him to catch with the eyes in the back of his head before tossing his pokeball, for all the good that did. The guzzlord, bubbled out of existence into a pool of noxious liquid in the river.

Gengar's mouth parted once again, and this time his nimble tongue spat out to catch the ball from the air, reeling it back toward his master. Pulling it from its grasp and shaking off the saliva, the boy breathed something like a sigh of relief. Now that he had a chance to think about it, he felt exhausted. Looking around at the devastation didn't energize him at all.

What a disaster. Oh, but it got worse. The disturbances in the sky drew his attention. ''Huh...?'' Worm holes grew, ''Oh. Ah..? And began to deposit meteors. Everywhere. ''Oh fuck!'' He looked to his ghost type. ''Gengar!'' The pokemon faded into his shadow as he nudged yanmega. ''Lets blow this popcicle stand!'' Latching onto his shirt, she took flight.

This fucking day is diarrhea! Shit just keeps coming out like a salad shooter! There was more however, as naganadel emerged from what was left of the forest. Hopefully all the smoke from the fire and he meteors would shield them, although cover was a two way street. ''Ravana, see if you can do something!'' Just as before, the yanmega concentrated a hypnosis as the closest one as she weaved through the meteor rain.

''Are you!?'' The boy retorted to the first question, rhetorical as it was. ''It was working out smashingly before you made that brilliant tactical decision, you absolute pyromaniac!'' But the brute was having none of it, and surprise, surprise used their superior strength to toss him further afield. He would have landed right on his face too had Epitaph not materialized beneath him.

''Gengar...'' He groaned at cushioning the fall. Meanwhile the crimson gaze of his yanmega briefly passed over the scene. She had been entrusted with the boy's safety, after all. Had any serious harm come to the Blackadder progeny, the guzzlord wouldn't be the only object of her ire. Alas, her compatriot had ensured no injuries, so she could flit her gaze to the much bigger fish to fry.

His gengar was not quite as forgiving however. As Andy got to his feet, the pokemon's trademark grin parted and his tongue flicked out for a nice paralyzing lick aimed for Balder Schwartz 's spine so that he might enjoy the remainder of battle with all the grace of a pile of jelly. As it whizzed over his shoulder however, the brat snatched at the tongue, stopping it well short.

''Save it for later,'' he grumbled with promise. ''Genth!'' It was none too pleased, but a call of ''yanmega!'' drew both of their attentions. While dealing with their muscular distraction, the guzzlord had decided to make a meal of his oldest pokemon. ''Shit!'' Before either can act however a chick's vikavolt freed it.

''Fucking thanks, lady!'' He calls to gigi bae. When his pokemon makes a rough landing nearby. The two came to her side and the youth examined the damage. The marrs on her exoskeleton were nasty and a pang of regret came over him. Ravana was one of the few things his mother had given him before she disappeared.

''Damn it... Ravana.'' He placed his hand on her head gently. The guzzlord emitting an awful racket drew his attention away again. It flailed within the waters of a nearby river and was making a meal of a gyarados, but it was putting up a fight. With yanmega injured as she was however, his mobility was highly limited. That is until a healing dew washed over her.

''Thanks, mister,'' he called to Razz Kingsman. ''yanmega,'' the insect chirped happily. She wasn't one hundred percent, but far better than she was. His chocolate gaze settled over everyone absolutely hammering the guzzlord, trying to prevent its hyperbeam from firing off. Never had he felt more useless than he did right then. However...

This thing can't do shit if it isn't here. It was simple, and stupid, but perhaps it could work. He fished a pokeball from his shorts. Fuck it. Why not? Bug buzz hadn't done anything to cease the beast's existence, so perhaps this would be a better solution, as foolish as it was. And so he pitched the thing at the monster. It couldn't hurt to try.

Ducking to avoid a stray crobat here and there among those that gathered at the entrance, the boy was one of the last on the scene. Seemed the mysterious goings on here had drawn quite the crowd. After actually dipping into the cave, numerous trainers further ahead had illuminated the way at various points. It wasn't as nice as the lit pathway of some cave tour, but it was serviceable.

His eyebrow lifted ever so slightly. Most people bristled at his barbed ribbing, but not this guy. It was like he only heard the normal bits of communication and everything else went in one ear and out the other. It caught him off guard. Even gengar cast a curious look at his master. Still, Andy wasn't so flabbergasted that he wasn't paying attention.

Looking over his sharpedo, the whole endeavor had left him with a few new gouges on his rough skin. The hulking fish providing some cover to the boy's meager form, he placed a hand on the sandpaper flesh to gently probe at one. The shark's glowing gaze flicked menacingly at Andy, causing him to slowly retract it.

An obnoxious noise piecing the air drew the lot's attention in time to see a camerupt, no a mega camerupt begin to spray fire into the already devastated forest. At first, a grin tugged at Blackadder's lips, hearing those kartana burn. But then the flames began to leap around through the trees, spreading through the broken branches and tinder.

''Yanmega!'' His pokemon were all startled. The desire not to be burned to death was fairly universal it seemed. ''I know!'' Pokeball still in hand, he beamed the sharpedo back into his den. He would be too big and heavy to fly. Besides, he had done his job for the time being. ''Gengar!'' His ghost pokemon once again faded into his shadow as yanmega clasped the back of his shirt.

''To that camerupt,'' the young trainer growled. ''Yanmega,'' the pokemon protested. The ultra beast barreling towards it had not escaped his notice through the flames. ''Fuck that lumbering mouth testicle. I got a bone to pick.'' Regardless of what Ravana thought of the decision, anything was better than sticking around within the growing fires.

Zipping over the smoke and flames, the boy caught a few coughs and wheezes from the smoke wafting through the air. As they grew close, a collection of other trainers seemed to be tossing everything they had at the guzzlord. Doing as she was bade, the yanmega sat Andy down near the closest human to the camerupt (Balder Schwartz), a great hulking man that was hard to miss, even if there were a crowd of people.

''Oi!'' He accosted as he came to rest, looking worse for wear. Splinters and singes decorated his white shorts and emerald pleated shirt, his matching high socks bunched around his shoes rather than up at his scraped knees. A suspender nearly hung off of one shoulder completely. ''Is this shithead yours!?'' A finger was thrust at the camerupt. ''Are you trying to burn me alive dick kisser!? I was trying to lay low in there!'' Then a brow lifted.

''Wait. Ain't you that gym bloke that buggered off after that Slateport business?'' Behind him, yanmega blasted the guzzlord with a bug buzz to try and assist in keeping the beast at bay.

As the trio skirted across the forest floor, the trees themselves seemed to flex and explode in a torrent of colorful slicing. If he could have processed it all quickly enough, Andy would have kicked himself for not noticing such an infestation of garish paper pokemon among the natural tones of the woods. But there was much happening at once. Such was the nature of war, as perhaps he would come to know.

''Yanmega!'' Perhaps the most skilled of samurai could slice a fly from the air in a display of raw talent, though it appeared these Megalopolans intended to fight through sheer attrition, brute force. The ogre darner pokemon flitted and weaved erratically, using her speed boost and insectoid eyes to try to outrun the origami aim of their attackers.

''Ravana!,'' at first her young master didn't know exactly what was happening, just that the trees started to fall all around them and his yanmega was flying all over the place, and faster and faster at that. ''Ravana! RavanAHHH!'' The three weaved under a trunk that was plowing through the branches of the canopy just in time, though so many others just kept falling.

It seemed as if a shroud of branches would collapse upon them all it once. Andy fished a pokeball from his shorts and blasted it out ahead of them. Out of all of his pokemon, he found his sharpedo the most intimidating. Unlike the rest of his menagerie, and perhaps others of his kind, his sharpedo wasn't vocal at all. It was a silent and violent destroyer, and that unnerved him.

Forest was a hell of a place for it, but it was what it was.

''CRUNCH! CRUNCH! CRUNCH!'' He yelped at the shark, of course its gaping maw was typically open by default, always hungry. If the creature could rend though supertankers in the ocean, a brief vegan diet should have been little issue. Its menacing maw crunched through the cage of flora falling to entrap them, its rough skin promising a little taste of their own medicine to any who struck it.

As the catastrophe of forestry came to an end, they rested in the smallest of clearings along the debris. The sharpedo glowered with bits of wood and leaves tumbling from his teeth. It was an unsatisfying meal. Yanmega let her passenger loose in the splinter covered grass as gengar formed from beneath him to grasp at the boy's shoulder with some visible concern.

''Gengar?'' Andy righted himself before brushing himself off shakily. ''I'm … alright. Just can't believe I didn't shit myself.'' The ghost pokemon upturned his trademark grin before charging up a shadow ball to sling into the nearest kartana. Though the lot seems to be mostly moving away from them.

At first he didn't get it, but a part of him foolishly hoped it was because they were intimidated.

The last thing any kid could expect is a war. Yet, here they were three days in. The young Blackadder had never taken his League affiliation tooseriously, much as he did with any real authority, but war was war. He had hoped to avoid any serious action, but he recalled hearing about a law somewhere that a plan never survived contact with the enemy... or something. Terrible law.

Unlike the rest of the ~~heroes~~ fools with him, Andy kept to the cover of the treeline. His yanmega provided him with some mobility, while his gengar shadowed him as usual. The naganadels swooping overhead were an issue, and one a handful of other trainers were dealing with. With those bastards in the air, he would never he capable of really flying with Ravana.

''These shits have got to go,'' he muttered to the bug pokemon beside him, and the incorporeal ghost beneath. His brown eyes peered up through the canopy until they set upon an unaccosted naganadel. His brow furrowed. ''Come on, Epitaph.'' The gengar materialized behind him as he thrust a bony finger upwards.

''Slap that ass needle out of sky, guys,'' he whispered. His pokemon glanced at each other. ''Gengar,'' it questioned, his grin widening. ''Yan, Yanmega,'' Ravana buzzed in response. Gengar faded into her shadow. With a hum, it flutter up through the branches, flying and lighting along the trunk until she was somewhat higher, though still within the leave's shade.

Insectoid eyes set upon the closest fiend, she lashed out with Hypnosis as gengar slid into existence on a branch beneath her, to contribute with Dream Eater to further end the nagandel's interrupted flight. Both descended to their pleased master at the base of the trunk, gengar's eyes peering from underneath the bug pokemon.

''Hot shit,'' he praised. However, Andy was still looking to avoid attention. ''Let's move before we get a plate of retaliation,'' he suggested, slapping Ravana's leg. ''Yanmega.'' Fluttering up slightly, her legs clasped the back of the boy's shirt, and the two quickly hovered across the forest floor in search of another tree to hide under, Epitaph shadowing them the entire way.
