near the last known location of regirock's tomb, several trainers have stumbled across an ominous opening. inside, they will find the ruins of the legendary titan, riddled with traps, treasures, and the mystical unknown. no one knows what awaits them but one thing is for sure — a new arc begins. despite the thin veil of peace, the public still faces unease.
http://pkmn-hoenn.boards.net/WAR OF THE WORLDS: MAUVILLE WARFRONT
a faction-based pokemon roleplay
after the ultra beast war, hoenn begins to heal. the megalopolan invasion may have failed; however, it is clear there is much more at stake. a prophecy revolving around a cyclical meteoroid, the appearance of necrozma and a dangerous and viral alien threaten the safety of the region once more.
with rocket's new boss, the resurgence and reappearance of the crime syndicate's presence is imminent. the league has done its best to repair its reputation, and with the victory of a war under their belt, perhaps it is enough. but the seeds of distrust have already been sown in the ravaged land of this region, causing many to wonder what will grow?
ON THE THIRD DAY OF THE WAR, route 110 is breached by sea. An ultra wormhole opens near the power plant, high above the Seaside Cycling Road. Terrible sparks of electricity lash out into the overcast sky. From the unearthly portal, the Megalopolan army mobilizes. They drop in menacing numbers and swoop to the earth on Naganadel.[break][break][break]
The League is caught off-guard. Their defenses have been concentrated along the coast; however, the reinforcements around the stronghold of Mauville are swiftly overrun. A convoy of supply vehicles had been intercepted in the process: a strategic move, for resources are running dry. That convoy is now long gone: a mess of shrapnel and frame strewn across the road like viscera.[break][break][break]
Your characters arrive as reinforcements. Ahead, League soldiers and their Pokemon engage in fierce combat with the Megalopolans. The aliens fight with their own stun batons and borrowed Pokemon: furfrou, shiftry, and their own Naganadel mounts. Should a League cadet or ranger fall, they would be pounced upon by those close to tear off an ear or a cheek with their teeth. Others face more fortunate fates. Impalement by Naganadel needle brings death more swiftly.[break][break][break]
Further ahead, Guzzlord stomp across the battlefield. Their gaping mouths seem to drool, much like their commanders. From their endless gullets, they BELCH endless poison. The sludge soils the earth and sea. Naganadel swarm across the skies. Several of these draconic creatures are stationed high, perched on the Seaside Cycling Road like snipers. They fire DRAGON PULSES across the field and tear the turf.[break][break][break]
The Seaside Cycling Road has been seized by the opposition. A supply vehicle has been arrested at its beginning. Radio information has reported that war supplies, including food (for humans and pokemon) and generators, are contained within it. Mauville is in dire need— for the war has been stretching Hoenn's resources thin across the region.[break][break][break]
As you all arrive, you find yourselves immediately in the thick of battle. From the skies, the Naganadel in the cycling road begin to fire their POISON and DRAGON PULSES at you as suppressive fire.[break][break][break]

she was familiar with the territory, having dedicated its general layout to memory multiple times over. so her steps remained certain and brimming with confidence as she made her expectant entrance, both she and her comrades serving as the reinforcements that mauville had called upon in their hour of need. cait surveyed her immediate surroundings, noting that their position was moderately exposed; the terrain purposefully flattened long ago to allow for easy travel.
cait clicked her tongue disapprovingly, the pokemon at her heel appearing to eye the enemy ahead with matching scowls. the objectives outlined in the briefings were clear, they needed to ensure that mauville received their supplies. the city was heavily reliant upon trade - and the lack of resources could effectively kill it if their routes were populated by enemy forces.
"we attack as a team," cait said, her voice slightly raised in the chaos. "just like we practiced - even distribution of damage along the front line."
stone edge and flamethrower were used in combination, the energy-imbued rocks that were empowered by a steady stream of fire being directed at the nearest enemy. cait moved alongside everyone else, intending to make her way toward the vehicle's location in hopes of securing it.
- cait [ alongside her magmar and sudowoodo ] enter the scene.
- magmar uses flamethrower and sudowoodo uses stone edge at the naganadel.
- the party begins to progress toward the vehicle, intending to aid in securing it.
kyle rushes ahead the masses with his smeargle on his shoulders, whistling for the manectric to follow after him. he barges through the door, making sure to shut the door locked behind him for a second, as his smeargle releases a dark void that encompasses the building.
as soon as the move dissipates, kyle unlocks the door for reinforcement to come. every invader within the building falls asleep with the move before the manectric rushes from one exit to another, electricity blazing at his legs as he passes by.
kyle picks up a stun baton from a fallen megalopolan and throws it over towards his manectric before he reaches the exit. "fetch." the electric-type clamps hard on it with his jaws as he absorbs its power with his lightning rod.
the doors burst open instead of opening properly as the manectric rushes out. electricity cackles as it takes in power from his new toy before howling. thunder rains from the sky, hitting many of the sentries set up high above the sky.
kyle follows after his manectric afterwards, not even taking a second to check on the megalopolans. people will follow after him and do that for him, he hopes.
kyle goes first towards the building
locks the door for a second to dark void the entire building and then unlocks it
manectric activates lightning rod from a stun baton
manectric bursts out from the building and uses thunder at the air force
This decision will haunt her for days. As the city’s gym leader, she should not be joining this late. She should not be a part of the reinforcement party. If Katherine herself had been here to lead the cadets and rangers, this would have turned out differently. Unfortunately, she has to remind herself that this isn’t the time to dwell on mistakes.
It’s time to correct them.
“We aren’t getting poisoned today. Is that clear, Reuniclus?” The psychic-type answered by erecting an invisible barrier around his trainer and her squad of pokemon, a SAFEGUARD deployed for their protection.
“Anything that comes near us, and I mean anything that doesn’t look human, I want frozen, Sableye.” With a nod and its signature, Cheshire smile, the ghost-type proceeded to follow the order of its trainer. The ICY WIND began to flow. A harsh, arctic breeze billowed forth - aimed at the same draconic creatures that spewed poison and pulses of energy.
The Dusknoir opened the maw on its stomach only slightly, giving a peek of what's hidden inside, "EARTHQUAKE." She directs her sights to the cliff, signaling for the shadow-pokemon to aim there. Life taught Katherine that all is fair in love and war - and there's no question that this is war.
Afterward, assuming there's nothing stopping them from proceeding, they catch up to Kyle and enter the building.
☆ kat arrives on the scene with her sableye, reuniclus and dusknoir. blacephalon remains inside their pokeball.
☆ reuniclus is ordered to use SAFEGUARD to protect her team from poison and other status conditions. mostly poison though.
☆ sableye uses ICY WIND to maintain a harsh breeze of cold air. both to damage & slow the dragons that are firing down from above.
☆ dusknoir uses EARTHQUAKE around where the Megalopolans (those closest to them / near the cliff) stand.
☆ they move towards the building (and enter it) only after her pokemons attack. she might be a little late?
[break] a swarm of scyther's hid Kaine Ikari's entrance to the battlefield as his companions double team not only hid their advance but also provided some evasive maneuvers from the oncoming onslaught of attacks form the air. the duo round the corner near the cliff next to the building entrance to the cycling road before them, the cover of trees hopefully hiding their presence as the ninja points upward with his scyther nodding along with the plan. stealth was their specialty, it wasn't going to do much good in an all out war like this unless they could hide themselves. wings batted against one another as the scyther slowly rose to the top of the cliff with kaine grabbing onto his legs with one arm and releasing another soldier onto the battlefield, a venomoth. [break][break] as they climbed up the cliffside it didn't take them long to appear over the edge and catch the eye of a few of the megalopians who were surrounding the supplies needed for the city. the fools were mistaken to group up together. "stun them." with a heavy beat of its wings the moth let loose a powder that swept over the enemy trainers as its stun spore would be looking to stop them in their tracks long enough for another trainer to take them out or help acquire the truck. as he landed on his feet kaine would rush himself over to the truck to try and secure it, the quicker the better. She breathed and thought that the air was damp on the dawn of the third day.[break][break]
Calm, hands wrought into tight fists as they latched to the handlebars. On her motorcycle, she could drown her thoughts in the roars of a metal engine. Let the fuel run, let it ignite, as the volatile was finally given a path to ride. Dirt rippled, rising like clouds from behind her as she accelerated.[break][break]
Faster, she watched as the needle to the speedometer pegged itself to the far right of the dial; even the wind roared.[break][break]
Lucas Lane would have had to keep his arms looped around her, unless he wanted to feel like the air would tear him from her vehicle as it rode on this death ride.[break][break]
As the Cycling Road came into sight, Bailey Cooper could feel her heart threatening to burst; trepidation, fear, fury like the spark to her system. Controlled like the very explosions that powered the pistons to fuel her ride, Bailey wrangled her emotions to the ground and routed them into something that she could control.[break][break]
She was the Champion; she couldn't afford to hold back.[break][break]
For three days, she had been held back—waiting for this moment. “Hold on, Lucas! Don't fucking barf on me!” She screamed, wondering if her voice would pierce the roar of her motorcycle.[break][break]
Up ahead was sheer cliff. Above it, she knew what would await them. It would be the long stretch of highway that she remembered so fondly from her youth, polluted by the presence of these foreign invaders.[break][break]
Guzzlord in the distance; her eyes drifted away, knowing that it would have to be addressed. But, not now, as she sped faster and faster.[break][break]
And, for a moment, it would have seemed like she would have driven straight into the cliff.[break][break]
Her hand drifted from the handlebar, held flat to the ground that stretched underneath them.[break][break]
Some avatars were still struggling to master their powers. They were still trying to find the right touch to the new forces that they could control.[break][break]
Bailey had already learned.[break][break]
As if manifesting from an unknown, primal strength, the path that Bailey rode would suddenly rise, stretching and curving ahead of her.[break][break]
It made a ramp; it rose like the tilt of her fingers to the very peak of the cliff side.[break][break]
She shifted the bike into fifth gear; the absolute finale as it launched itself.[break][break]
It was enough height for the motorcycle to clear the safety railings; she greeted these invaders with something akin to a smile; lips pulled so far back with malice that it was almost visible in that flash of a second.[break][break]
And she drove straight to the supply truck, like trying to pull distance before they could fully register her sudden arrival.[break][break]
Togekiss was deployed; the marshmallow bird launching air slash to disrupt the group of foes nearest their suicidal approach. She would fly after her trainer, trying to stay close.[break][break]
Bailey skid, slamming her leg down to the ground as she would attempt the iconic bike slide to align herself by the supply truck. “Lane! Go!”[break][break]
Capsules dropped. Three pops.[break][break]
Aggron. Kommo-o. Steelix.[break][break]
She brought down her sunglasses, “Come and get some!”[break][break]
Her Aggron, tainted and overjoyed by the sight that laid before him, extended an arm to summon magnet rise to suspend himself from the ground, levitating only a few inches from the ground.[break][break]
Kommo-o, glittering with scared but bronzed scales, released a noble roar as the precursor to combat.[break][break]
Then, Steelix, who began to glow as Bailey pressed a finger to her sunglasses, to the side where a mega-stone had been affixed; mega-evolution spurring to life as it emerged from the transformation bathed in a rainbow light; gyro ball launched from its steaming, reformed maw.[break][break]
Time to draw their attention.[break][break]
Her hand went to her waist, removing what she rarely ever unveiled; her glock. The pistol was held with gentle care, raised with trained hands with her finger trained to its trigger.[break][break]
Only if it was necessary, she breathed.[break][break]
tldr: uses avatar powers to make a ramp up the cliff, launches herself off it while on a motorcycle with Lucas Lane . lands and comes to a stop near the supply truck, has togekiss use air slash. deploys aggron, kommo-o, and steelix. steelix is now mega evolved. aggron uses magnet rise, kommo-o uses noble roar, and steelix uses gyro ball on the group closest to the left side of the cliff (beneath the supply truck). she has her gun out. may use? big monka
"D-don't let go, you hear me Four, don't you let go." This couldn't be happening, he wasn't going to die like this, this had to be a nightmare. The weight on his lap though, that stupid Raichu that glared at him so, his nightmares wouldn't include the thing clinging to him like this, erecting a Light Screen around him and...One? [break][break]
Yes, One was here. One was here to be killed with him. Something in the back of Rex's mind drew his gaze upwards, right, they needed a fucking supply vehicle. That was why they had looked at the man with his beastly Pokemon and declared he was to die. How fantastic. Maybe if they got the vehicle, he and the others could hide inside until this all blew over. [break][break]
Either way, as his stomach threatened to empty from the fear of it all, the same fear drew him into recklessness. He needed to win as fast as possible to live. "Ancientpower!" He roared, voice cracking as he waved widely, "Tear them up! Don't you lose, One!" His screaming accompanied blasts of Ancientpower, the energy of fossils pulsing through the flying beast's body as it screamed towards and up the cliff. [break][break]
[attr="class","notes"]notes: Rex is here! [break][break]
tl;dr: Raichu uses Light Screen! Aerodyactl uses Ancientpower at the Naganadel as both attack and defense! The team is trying to fly up the cliffside! Rex is in "civilian" form, recognizable from the Beauty Contest!
War. He supposed it was his fate to someday be a part of it. Though he never imagined he would be in the thick of it as he was now, judging the battlefield and weighing strategies that could literally mean life or death. Sensing a slight hint of worry, Agnés placed her hand on his shoulder and helped ease it. Remiel took a deep breath, putting away those violent flashes of memory from New Year's eve and finally coming to a decision.[break][break]
Flanking from the left route seemed to be the best course of action considering the number of notable trainers headed to secure the supply truck. With no one else to truly guide the League trainers and Galar reinforcements there, the young ambassador stepped forward took charge. Pointing ahead, with his blue Gardevoir standing dutifully by his side, Remiel spoke loud and clear. "We are to secure the lower route and eliminate the Guzzlord in our way! This is our last stand! Hoenn's future waits before you; seize it!" He orders, prompting a cacophony of battle cries from trainer and pokémon alike before they charge forward.[break][break]
The dark-haired prince looks up to assess the status of the supply truck on the cliff above. Then he turns to his Gardevoir with a nod. "Double Team. I can't afford having you poisoned during this endeavor." He states, briefly watching as he form vibrates and blurs before reaching to his belt for two luxury balls. Summoning an abnormally large Duraludon and a considerably smaller Ampharos, the young man continues. "Gofannon, you lead the way and shield us. Faustus, use Safeguard and stick close to Agnés and I."[break][break]
A metallic groan is emitted from the Duraludon as it turns itself around with a series of powerful stomps and sets its sights on the chaotic scene ahead. With the sunlight bouncing off its silver plating brilliantly, the beast pushes forward at a steady crawl, spawning a LIGHT SCREEN in front of it and its allies as Naganadel set their sights upon it from afar. The Ampharos, in the meantime, summons a holy aura that builds up at the base of its orbed tail then softly expands to bless his partners with a powerful immunity (SAFEGUARD). This is not enough, however, to put Remiel in any sort of relief from the capabilities of their foes.[break][break]
"Veer left; towards the woods. We use the trees as cover." He orders his draconic tank.[break][break] [break]
notes:[break][break] Shiny Gardevoir used Double Team![break] By moving rapidly, the user makes illusory copies of itself to raise its evasiveness.[break] Duraludon used Light Screen![break] A wondrous wall of light is put up to reduce damage from special attacks for five turns[break] Ampharos used Safeguard![break] The user creates a protective field that prevents status conditions for five turns.[break][break]
tl;dr: Using Duraludon as a bulwark, Ampharos and Gardevoir stick close to Remiel as they push forward and into the woods on the western route. League and Galarian trainers might keep the enemies ahead occupied long enough for our heroes to reach proper cover.[break][break]
— Remiel wears a gas mask and a black fisherman's sweater under a khaki coat with a pair of black jeans and boots. A pair of protective eyewear hangs around his neck, and he's got his contacts in today. The belt carrying his luxury balls are mostly obscured by his coat. The gun holstered to his hip is entirely obscured.[break][break]
The question of 'why' had roused in her mind several times over the span of only a few moments. Questionable tactics, suicidal plans, motorcycle madness...But, she supposed seeing the tactics most use to scale the rocky walls to meet their foes was...interesting. A far too tireless champion here, and someone literally scaling the cliffs there...
"Fucking..." She felt a headache brewing already, which was only being heightened by seeing the familiar face of the rocket admin veering off from the pack. She felt a slight duty to maybe assist and support, but the earth-shattering roars of the guzzlord reminded her of her own sense of self preservation. And so, she decides to simply....ignore it.
Her gaze instead flickered over to the building that'd been entered shortly before by a man with a manectric...An elite four member, if she remembered his face correctly. Brow perked, she slunk forward, opening the door to peer inside. She was greeted with the sight of sleeping bodies. "Smart people shouldn't stress." She reminds herself with a breath, leaving the chaos of those outside via closing the door behind her and making her merry way through the building. Heels create a quiet 'click clack' as she moves with purpose, heading up the stairs swiftly. Her gengar murks in the shadows, lingering behind her in a silent trail as she moved. She exits the building, quickly observing the situation at hand.
Not many have made it up just yet, and the elite four man lingered nearby. Circe watched with lips parted into a slight 'oh' as electricity crackles from the canine's fur and dark clouds gather, thunder roaring as it releases an attack. Within the blue hound's maw though is a dark rod and the occasional bubble of dying static wisps. Gears twist in her mind, nothing but theories and possibilities, but, it wouldn't hurt to try.
"Thanks for the easy walk." Circe's tone is filled with mischevious snark, a hand ushering forward. The movement caused her gengar to reveal itself, pulling from the shadows abruptly. "Assist with thunderbolt." Her hand is pointed out towards the gargantuan purple dragons that roost on the road and shot at them from afar, but they're not her true target.
She released another pokemon soon after, intent on covering their left, where a massive swell of ground troops are left unchecked in their duo. Absol landed on the ground with a cry, and is immediately given an order. "Copy it and cover our flank." A finger points towards the beams of dragon pulse that occasionally streak towards them like targeted missiles. It's eyes glow from the anticipated shot of the snipers attempting to defy their attackers, using me first. The dragon pulse that launches from its parted jaws is like a streaking laser that fires toward the Megalopolans.
tldr; - Goes through the building that kyle lopez cleared out - Notates Kyle's Manectric & its possession of the stun gun - Has a hunch & otherwise copies Kyle's method in using Thunderbolt on the Naganadel w/ Gengar - Releases Absol and has it use 'Me First' to copy the Nagandel's Dragon Pulse & use it on the Megalopolans on the left-most side on the cliff
she’d been advised, embarrassingly, to leave the guns at home. it would only piss them off more, they’d reasoned, and it’d be extra weight. it took seeing the chaos in person to realize that pokemon—especially these ultra beasts—were far more powerful. she’d been gaining respect for them; for her own, especially. now, there was a chance she’d lose them.
she’d never seen this many of them before: people, pokemon, faces of desperation. they were an army.
she had no personal allegiance to hoenn, however, loyal to the bone, lulu would fight for her team. not to mention, her family was in this. they hadn’t arrived together, even facing death. she didn’t have time to look for him.
they moved forward, heading for the building at top speed. a dragon pulse ripped by to their left, taking someone out. lulu didn’t look to see if they got up. instead, she yelled at the weezing flanking her,
“weezing, THUNDERBOLT!” a jagged streak of lightning shot down at the neganadal that had fired the murderous blow. “perrserker, use IRON DEFENSE!” lulu yelled over the chaos. the viking pokemon glowed silver as it ran with its trainer, looking fierce, and psychotically unintimidated. as they passed the cliff, she noticed Rex Drago and silently wished him luck. they’d have his back.
they attempted to reach the building, following after Katherine Fairburne and her team, recognizing her popular face as one of rocket’s own.
tl;dr ★ dragon pulse hits someone to the left ★ weezing uses thunderbolt at neganadal responsible ★ perrserker uses iron defense ★ the three make their way for the building
[attr=class, bulk]They arrived in droves to meet with the foe head on. The League quickly kicked the door in, pushing toward the cyclist's road in order to secure a halted supply van and reclaim the vantage from their enemy. But for the boots on the ground... The road ahead appeared much more daunting from their perspective.[break][break]
Disillusioned at the first sight of a lumbering Ultra Beast stationed at the rear of the first Megalopolan squadron, their momentum quickly ground to a halt while a more insidious kind of battle began. Guerilla warfare was the name of the game as their forces took pot shots from afar, hoping to avoid the covering fire from the Naganadel along the overpass. But Furfrou and Shiftry stalked the woods at the behest of the invaders, sniffing out their ranks and sweeping the woods.[break][break]
One trainer took initiative, rallying the Galarians and forming a spearhead. They could not afford to crumple now, and so Adrian followed his lead, lending his strength to theirs. "Omen, Reflect the incoming fire," he pointed to Duraludon.[break][break]
The pokemon took up a position ahead of them, intercepting incoming attacks while they moved towards the treeline. Once there, they were abruptly harried by Shiftry that were nimble as they skulked through the shadows of the greenweald.[break][break]
"Vixen, Dazzle them," he struggled to mouth the words, though intuition paid off as it harnessed the strength of the fae, its radiant power burning its splendor into their retina, causing them to pause in their assault long enough to breath.[break][break]
The respite offered others the chance to retaliate against their vulnerable ranks. But going forward they needed to be able to read into the enemy's positioning to avoid an ambush, and so desperate for insight, Adrian commanded the Alakazam following closely after him alongside Gardevoir. Vixen and Karma took up positions at either of his flanks as Omen, his Grimmsnarl, was able to rejoin their band. "Karma, tell us what you can see ahead hiding in the treeline..."[break][break]
Alakazam begins to achieve a level of clairvoyance, discerning the enemies ahead not immune to its prowess. It treads cautiously, braced for something that is soon to pass. But as the machinations of its mind churn out answers, a recurring theme is present in its augury: Death, so much death... But whose?
- Adrian is generally wearing the same outfit in his banner art.[break] - Also wears no fewer than three stainless steel, fixed blade knives.[break] - He is concealed carrying them in kydex sheaths along his waist.[break] - Adrian has opted to take the lower path out of necessity.[break] - Grimmsnarl used Reflect to weaken incoming fire w/ Duraludon.[break] - Gardevoir used Dazzling Gleam to daze and harm corrupted Shiftry.[break] - Alakazam used Future Sight to divine the future in preparation.[break] - Gyarados is still in its pokeball to avoid drawing needless attention.[break]
[attr="class","ePostMain"]they'd been building to this, whether they realised it or not. footage and reports from the water routes and sporadic attacks across hoenn meticulously studied for an inevitable, unpredictable, attack—a leaked radio call finally brought them to mauville. had he the time, he might have wondered what Katherine Fairburne made of it all. Despite the situation, Gigi appeared to be detached from her surroundings. A finely tuned defense mechanism with a reliable virus function and firewall protected the awkward, feeble girl inside of her. However, the question was whether or not her brain could keep up these measurements through a war. It was a simple psychological trick that shielded her worldview, a simple mantra repeating what she believed to be true.
Life was a game. Those who were strong, skilled, or had the tactical advantage thrived in the environment. Monsters, including shadows from the past, spawned to hunt down innocent players. Her current surroundings only punctuated this false logic. For example, a motorcycle zoomed by and the earth rose to create a ramp. If that wasn't a script or mechanic of a video game then it needed to be.
The Rotom possessed smart phone swirled around her as per usual, streaming the view and experiences to a crowd of who-knows-how-many. This was another protective measurement although Gigi wouldn't be capable of explaining why an audience behind their screens helped calm any nerves that attempted to form. "Captcha," she called out, "Don't get hit."
Whether she was more worried about her expensive phone or Pokemon was hard to interpret from her smooth facial features. For anyone who was viewing, the stream became blurry as the Rotom double teamed. She glanced at Captcha and his clones. While not useful in terms of the battle, at least not now, he would be capable of capturing various camera angles now.
As Gigi reached for her Pokemon, she noted the large amount of players trainers heading to the cliff via the nearby building or with the help of their partners. While they took the high road, she took the low road. The large congregation turned her away. If victory was to be achieved, they needed to separate and take different tactical points rather than tunnel vision on the area where the supply truck was located.
"Fuck." Looks like they were on hard mode. With a quick snap of her wrist, she released her Porygon. A cannon of poison nearly consumed the digital Pokemon but the attack worked in their favor. "Ethernet, conversion two." Ethernet's appearance began to shift, replacing shades of blue and pink with hues of purple as it converted into a poison type. While Ethernet changed its interior and exterior data, Gigi released her Charjabug and newly obtained Venusaur.
"Tank the poison if you can." she commandeered the Venusaur who was incapable of being poisoned due to its dual type. "Watch out for the dragon pulses. Don't wait for my command, use synthesis if you're injured." The burly Pokemon nodded as she moved to position herself in between the Guzzlord, which was still indiscriminately blasting poison, and her trainer. Gigi lingered beneath the foliage on Venusaur's back, hoping it would protect her from any projectiles.
She grabbed the battery Pokemon, knowing the bug type would be unable to keep up. "Start charging up your electricity as we're walking." The box-like critter began to spark with electricity as it charged up the power within it. Though the static prickled at her skin, Gigi didn't complain.
"Alright, let's do this, team." Luckily, a lot of games were team player games. She wasn't alone in this mmorpg-like raid. For now, she would play defense and tentative. Expectations were not currently established. She needed more information before going on the offense.
Realization struck Gigi as she smirked toward the hovering smart phone. "Oh, by the way, disclaimer: if you can't handle violence or language then g-t-f-o. Also, please don't try this at home blah blah and all that crap."
Gigi chooses to travel further up route 110 rather than go towards the building or cliff (towards the guzzlord).
Rotom, occupying Gigi's smart phone, uses double team in an attempt not to get hit (while simultaneously finding the best angles for the stream because yes we're live folks).
Porygon tanks a belch which allows it to use conversion 2 and turn into a poison type.
Venusaur is attempting to shield/tank the other pokemon with her brute size as Gigi ducks beneath her foliage. She was commanded to use synthesis if injured.
Charjabug is being carried by Gigi and using charge in preparation.
Guided by the same intercepted transmission as marcel maeda and dominic sinclair, Gavin arrives on the back of his signature Corviknight. A gas mask obscures his features and muffles his commands: "Protect! Take us down!" Up here, they're a target, but Corviknight erects a PROTECTIVE barrier to ward off errant attacks. They spot the supply van from the air and head for it — as they close in, Corviknight veers and tries to land behind some trees for cover.[break][break]
He does not hesitate nor hold back. The moment they land, wherever they land, Gavin deploys the rest of his Pokemon in tandem.[break][break]
Lucario lifts its gaze skyward and offers return fire toward one of the Naganadel with DRAGON PULSE.[break][break]
Metagross, seeking to avoid the dangerous quaking of the earth, utilizes latent energy to lift itself with MAGNET RISE.[break][break]
It's Gavin's Lycanroc who seeks to cause the most havoc. A howl ripples in the werewolf's throat as it gathers up loose rock and detritus caused by Katherine Fairburne's earthquake to hurl a ROCK SLIDE at the swarming Megalopolans.[break][break]

Moana took a moment to curse his past self. Seriously, why did he think it was a good idea to come to a warfront? He knew himself. He knew he was smart and adaptable...
But this situation? He looked around, and even as someone unfamiliar to the region, he recognized a few of the faces around him. There, on the motorcycle, was that the champion? He was so brutally out of his league. He should have caught the ferry to Sinnoh instead of this alien-ridden hellscape.
And yet, there was no use worrying about the past. He was here now, and there was a part of him that was glad he was: the same part of him that protested every time his fingers dipped into a passerby's pocket. He would be doing something good by being here.
His Pokemon accompanied him. Wali floated alongside him, the Sigilyph showing no expression on its body. Moana carried Keila in his arms, since the Pineco couldn't really move around on her own otherwise. Though she looked heavy, she was surprisingly light for her size, and Moana had little trouble carrying her. Well, not for now, anyways, but the protective utility she provided was absolutely worth a little extra weight. Pertapa and Tynnu stayed on the ground nearby, the rock types looking anxious but determined.
Moana started towards the Guzzlord and the aliens who were accompanying it, joining a group of others.
"Keila, Protect! Wali, Light Screen!" he said, and the Pineco in his arms and the Sigilyph floating nearby formed a barrier that would hopefully lessen the onslaught of attacks at him and his team. He looked at the opponents he was up against and smiled a little to himself. He may not have been trained in combat, and his team may not have been the most powerful, but he knew from his time in the gang that even the weakest Pokemon could pose a threat to any human, and hopefully, any alien.
Plus, he fought dirty.
"You two, Rock Blast! Aim for their faces!" Moana commanded, and the Dwebble and the Geodude, sheltered from attacks behind the dual barrier that was formed by Wali and Keila, begin to fire a barrage of stone projectiles the size of Moana's fist at the enemy. The attacks weren't the most powerful, but they were fast and numerous, and a decent-sized rock to the face would not be good news for anyone, alien or not.
