When he heard the door close it sounded like the buzz and industrial clang of a prison cell door being closed, which was telling as hell considering he was the one who closed it.

Moving into the kitchen he was just about ready to go on auto-pilot for the rest of this thing; best to check out and comply with Cait's wishes. There was a price to be paid for blind compliance. Cait gave hers to him at every turn thus far when he'd needed it.

He owed her this one but considering the weight of 'this one' they were just about even already and Fernando hadn't even sat down yet.

The spread was nice, he handled most of the cooking in their day-to-day lives so Cait's food presentation on this special occasion was always refreshing to see.

The idea of Fernando kissing his babies like some maverick politician made the meal a lot less so.

Over the Silph's shoulder and behind his back Sénon shot Cait a look.

Dropping the stare as soon as he'd picked it up he took Fernando's jacket or blazer or sportcoat or whateverthefuck and hung it properly. Indifference was no reason to mishandle a loyal garment; his parents' tendencies as accommodating hosts poking through said indifference.

Coming back to sit at the table as everyone took a seat the redhead did chide her with his considerate tone.

"Cait I trust you gave him the opportunity to invite his girlfriend to this lunch." He laughed at the idea of such an established big shot having one girlfriend. "-or boyfriend. Whatever." He shrugged using his hands.

The cabin couldn't fit the harem FERNANDO SILPH undoubtedly had, but there was plenty of room in the grass.

Despite how close he'd apparently kept Cait over the years, even now, Fernando didn't want her when he could have had her. For him to turn her down, at least one someone was filling that void.

Unlike the dry heat sauna's over Kalos, the humidity in air here from water hitting super heated rock was just, classic Hoenn.

He was only just barely getting used to the humidity now that the summer over and he was paying discounted prices for hot rock massages and stream room treatments.

The sound of a sweet voice was just enough to break him from his deep thoughts and mental focus on maintaining his heat resistance.

This place literally 'no chill' in the afternoon.

He knew it got busy once the sun was up but for there to be no springs, no rooms, no massage tables or masseuse available and none to come for the next hour or so, that was just crazy.

-and it only made sense if all of Hoenn was already here and he was simply the last one.

Strangely enough even sitting in the halls waiting for something to become available had his pores open.

This many people in this small a space on top of all the intended heat sources being offered, it was like being inside an oven.

He was losing hydration just sitting here. "I told you they would be packed."

A public (yet closed off) hot spring wasn't as intimate as a hot tub, he knew that.

He'd only recently gotten the idea to build a hot tub at Cait's Cabin after loving the hot springs and steam rooms of Lavaridge. He didn't know much of kcid-backwards about engineering but with some time, thorough research, patience and a willingness to accept some trial-and-error based progression he could totally build a functional hot-tub to stand the test of time.

For now the lack of intimacy from the public location was offset by the fact that they had this spring to themselves...

and this time; he wasn't going to cry.

Although seeing her with her curls up and tied back, in all her bathing suited splendor, showing the cutest little bump of her lower belly... "Hey love." He said it like he hadn't seen her in days.

If he looked at her too long, he was going to be fighting back tears of pride. 'There goes my baby' or however that song went.

He knew exactly how it went, given he was singing it under his breath.

No matter what happened, no matter how many beads of sweat dripped from his face,

how many times he had to carefully wipe the sweat threatening to sting his eyes,

time he had to thrash his head to shake off the sweat from his face because he hands were already covered in sweat and wiping his sweaty face with his sweaty hand wouldn't rid him of his sweaty circumstances;

he wasn't going to be the first one to leave this steam room.

An hour was enough, but he wait here until the sun came back up if he had to.

These hot spring treatments were doing wonders for his stamina.

He felt like his circulation was 'cleaner' and his lungs were stronger. Maybe something about his blood's improved circulation and blood pressure allowed his body to take in air more efficiently.

Whatever he wasn't a doctor.

He just knew coming here cleared his mind and expanded his already tempered tolerance for the heat.

"You alright over there?" He wasn't even sure why he was asking. It was her after all. So he asked, but he didn't really need her to respond.

The population had taken well to this promotional bundle of services from the Lavaridge Springs.

The place was always active through the day; packed before mid-morning and bustling until the last hour or two.

Apparently the activity had its costs as there was a power outage just after noon.

Natural lights took over for a while and the masseuse continued to knead his back and shoulders like dough.

Post morning workout, no shower, he'd made it here earlier than normal, earlier than they opened actually.

Luckily, one of the staff that recognized him let him in; the facility in full would be opening in an hour.

There was apparently some one else who wanted to use the facility early as well.

He didn't know who it was but the staff was willing to accommodate the Head Ranger if they were already doing it for someone else.

He washed himself, sat in the hot spring for thirty minutes, rinsed off and sat in the heated stone room.

With twenty minutes or so left until the facilities opened, the only other client in the building walked in.

Here he was again to bookend his day.

Kadabra was a godsend; travel to and from Lavaridge was a cost-less and near time-less affair.

Affair being the appropriate word; he did feel some guilt sneaking off from Cait's to wash himself here in these lavish festivities.

It was a bit jerk-assed of him to be enjoying himself with blistering heat baths and pieces of ice to chew on but he doubted Cait wanted to be sauna-fied twice a day for a month.

He'd practically kicked down the doors to try Lavaridge's new setups and get his pores open.

He'd been here a couple times before, blowing up @utah's phone to join him.

When he couldn't get a hold of her he made his way here only to run into someone interesting.

He'd paid it no mind at first, only for them to be directed to the same heated stone room he was already in.

He squinted at her to make sure it was who he thought it was. "I remember you."

Sweeping the east bank Sénon waded under the water looking out in the dark expanses of the sea.

The twice sighting of Kyogre sent a shiver down his spine.

He couldn't fathom having any level of comfort calling the abundant and abysmal sea his domain.

Even collapsing space(-time) wasn't as terrifying as the unknowns of the sea.

Once his eyes (and hunger for the morbid) were full he began to return to the meeting place.

Swimming over a old anchor of some kind a wayward touch from his fins wrested the 'anchor' from the murky waters exposing the head crest an angry gyarados that stared down the Head Ranger for only a moment...

Before swallowing him whole and snaking off towards the sea.

Things moved so fast in nightclubs, the gatherings of people always made him weary in terms of hangout choices. Something about being on the other side of the bar made it manageable.

His shift moved fast once the kitchen closed.

Taking the occasional shot himself helped.

He'd almost been caught off guard by the questioning, so many other things on his mind; like all the upcoming Ranger Promotions. "Not too sure, I love a good summer storm so I might not have noticed the gloom" Seriously, summer storms were beautiful. On par with a rainbow on a cloudy day. "Also I'm not from this city, nor am I the bartender, kinda. I'm kind of a kitchen-ronin. A vagabond chefs knife, if you will." He gave the mint-haired guy a headnod. "-but I do know how to make a mojito."

White rum, sugar, lime juice, soda water, and mint.
