Now that he had gotten it out in the open it was his chance to put things in the proper perspective for her.

Coming around to the front of her he got down on one knee taking one of her hands into his. The small size of her hands and not-quite-soft skin was beyond familiar to his touch now.

"Listen, I am who I am."

". . .That's a stupid saying." He shook his head to start over. "Money matters. ..but purpose and passion and people matter more."

He looked into her eyes, this was what it was all for.

"If you're staying in Hoenn, it should be because you choose to, not because you have to."

With the two hound pokémon going head to head the two poison types took up suit. However. seviper knew better than to waste precious time on another poison type.

A creature that skillfully weaponized poisons would come to understand over time that time was their ally. The earlier on in an encounter that the opponent was poisoned, the better.

Other things that poisoned things didn't suffer from poison as much.

The crobat wasn't its kind of prey.

It took the Air Cutter attack just to get close enough.

With a yellow flash of her eyes seviper sought to paralyze the winged attacker with a death stare.

Seviper used GLARE!

Resilience was important but without attack you had to claw your way to victory or be clawed until your opponent had no claws left.

"Maybe she wont!"

The truth of it was that Kingdra was only tactically set up to attack. If the opposing pokémon had a move like PROTECT, his two-step assault was made moot by low-tactics.

Kingdra took the musty wave of dragon aura of whatever it was DRAGON PULSE did but he wasn't ready to give in yet. Bit for bit ICE BEAM was touch more serious an attack and that wasn't counting its potential freeze a pokémon solid.

If this just devolved to a battle of full-offense, he was putting his money Kingdra and Ice Beam.

It wasn't revolutionary but it was direct shot to victory consider Kingdra's limitations.

Rinse, and repeat. The wimpod seemed like it was ready for a nap.

With only one safari left Sénon wasn't picky for the batch to be a bunch of water types, there were all keepers.

Next time he might be a bit more choosy but for now...

-Babysaur coated a playful Inkay with SLEEP POWDER. Before it succomb to its slumber making it easy pickings for a safari ball it spurted ink in the bulba's face.

Babysaur used SLEEP POWDER!
Inkay fell asleep!

Jūken had wandered off to take a discreet time to drain his bladder.

Did riolu have bladder?

It didn't matter. What did matter was that he was gone just long enough for Sénon to get a lead up the trail.

Sensing his human's aura was startled the Riolu caught up with Sénon delivering a critical force strike on the growlithe by whipping air at the pup using a powerful arm thrust, knocking it cold.

Jūken used FORCE PALM!

Only to embarrassingly see Sénon was indeed caught off guard by the pokémon but not at all in any danger.

Crimsen attempted to capture Growlithe!

Something about losing this match rubbed the Head Ranger in the wrong way.

His tag partner had made huge strides of growth in the last half year.

Team Rocket was in the light swaying public opinion, he was Hoenn League's Ambassador to Kanto, he'd seen Dialga, Kyogre, Articuno, Celebi and two of the Tapu with his own eyes. Game Corner was expanding to Hoenn under his structure and Cait was pregnant.

He was supposed to be getting more mature and his ego in control.

He had just enough ego left to make a difference in this battle, because he didn't want to be the reason Sullivan lost this match.

"Get ready." Scolipede recognized his trainers hand gesture and began to harden its exoskeleton.

They needed better names for these things.

What was this? A 'three on three match with three trainers on each side'.

You'd call that a triple battle right? But instinctively wouldn't you think a triple battle was 'three trainers with one pokémon each' but that fell under the category of Battle Royale.

He didn't quite get it but that's what this tournament was for.

Seviper emerged from her pokéball ready to impress and proud to be back with her original trainer.

"Let's all just do our best." He didn't weigh down his team with the expectation of winning. Nor throw stones at the other team.

He considered this a trial run for this battle type, he was here to learn something new.

Given the challenges that came with attacking pokémon in the Safari Zone, Babysaur was a blessing as always.

Of all the pokémon in the current iteration of the safari zone wimpod was the one he knew the least about. It was only through DEXapp that he learned what wimpod evolved into and sure enough when he encountered one capture it was child's play with Baby's SLEEP POWDER.

Tooth and nail they had fought. Even if these guys were NPCs they were clearly high level.

It was a little unorthodox but all partied had agreed. They called it the 'Iron Man Tag' Battle.

Two trainers against two trainers and each of the four of them with six pokémon.

They'd left a lot on the floor of this battle but twenty K.O.'s later four trainers and four pokemon remained.

Which meant he had five pokémon faint same as Sullivan and the other two trainers.

Sénon wiped the sweat from his brow. He really didn't want to lose.

It was all on Scolipede and John Sullivan 's last pokémon to hold out for the tight win.

It was as good a time as any to call it a night.

Lulu Flint was asking for trouble from more than just him. It was good to see her and sneaking off was common between them.

So while she grabbed the hair of skyler dross and the two went on a bit of bar brawl he touched Adrian Malcolm's shoulder and nodded a goodbye to Rowan Wrynn he'd probably have his hands full coordinating Malcolm out of the place.

Taking a bottle from the bar he pointed out FERNANDO SILPH as the tab holder. "I'm taking the rest of my shots to go." Sénon wasn't done taking shots, he was just done taking them tonight.

He threw a tease at Ji-Hoon (Chu-e Choi). "Well I'm not taking you home again." He almost got puked on and Ji-hoon was sober then.

It began to dawn on him that the way the family stayed aloof about their status was a little problematic for the kids as they grew up under it. As the first generation to grow up with that wealth Sénon and his cousins were the guinea pigs for coming of age while carrying such a secret.

It made his sweats cold and his face twisted up again.

Now he looked like he'd just beat his tirtouga's shell in, like he was four again and he'd been caught stealing cookies from the jar.

He was really trying to find the right words to contextualize it all.

"I, Sénon Gioco am the majority share holder of GAME CORNER."

He was ready to take the battle further given he had the upper hand but it seemed tentacruel wasn't up for it.

Haunter's laughs faded into the ether as she was returned to her pokéball.

It was true he'd taken the victory but he was also quite aware Zac's skills hadn't been put on display here.

Not that Sénon gave him much room with his aggressive tactics. Still, he made a mental note to challenge Zac in a more extended battle context in the future.

"I have been doing pretty well so far but I still feel so out of practice." He approached the other redhead a bit unsatisfied with the results.

"What about you? Victory is nice, but learning new tricks, that's the real win isn't it?"

He deserved the light anxiety he felt trying to wrestle this truth from the darkness of safety suppression.

Safety for the family from the problem of attention and bad circumstance brought on by braggadocios behavior.

He wasn't supposed to talk about it. The people who knew, knew. The ones who didn't were kept in the dark unless they became family too.

It wasn't that he didn't trust Cait, it was that his psyche was hardwired not to brag about his status. The family decree to keep the family business secret made him almost ashamed of said status.

He never felt hot under the collar thinking about this moment, but now that it was here it was hard to get the words out.

He supposed the only thing he could do was show her. He looked like someone had beaten his tirtouga's shell in. Once he let the genie out the bottle, there was no putting it back in. He trusted Cait enough to hope she could learn to live with the genie's power.

"Cai..." He'd feel better when it was all behind them, one less secret to carry. "I'm... I'm rich." Ugh. Even saying it in earnest felt gaudy.
