Another week, another visit to the Safari Zone.

”We’re doing the same route as before.” Mars tells his dark-feathered Braviary when it comes out of its Luxury Ball, petting the soft feathers of its mane. The bird gives a simple nod, looking at him from behind a mask of azure flames and spreading his wings as if to mark that is ready to begin.

Mars smiles faintly at this, taking a step back to give the huge bird-of-prey some much needed space. When it takes flying, he watches for a moment, then finally stepping into the Safari Zone and taking the same path as usual.

First is the area with the Treecko.

The Safari Zone may change their stock from month to month, but it always seems certain species prefer to spend their time in certain areas. Treecko like the shade and the grass, but neither of those things seem to do much to shield them from the gaze of the Braviary up above.

A screech serves as call when Boreas identifies his prey of choice, and Mars watches for a moment before giving a simple nod.
[break][break]
Sharp talons are coated in MYSTICAL FIRE when Boreas swoops down, grabbing onto the wild grass type.

Second is the Torchic.

This time, none approaches Boreas, for the great bird-of-prey remains in flight, but from where he is, he has the visual advantage, and it’s soon enough that he spots one of the innocent little Chick Pokémon. A screech announces this, high pitched in tone. Mars gives his command with a whistled note.

Boreas swoops down with no hesitation at all, psychic power coating his feathers when slashing the Torchic with brutal ESPER WINGS.

Mars does no more than nod in approval, and a Safari Ball is then thrown.

As per usual, the path passes by a stream, this time one where a bunch of Mudkip hangout all too peacefully.

Just as before, Boreas seems eager to attack, hunting for prey being as if the Braviary’s favourite game. Mars stops him this time. All it takes is another whistled note; one of a much different pitch than the last.

The warcry let out by the bird-of-prey isn’t at all pleased, this too is something the banker can tell, but even if it displeases him, Boreas lets it be.

Next come the Bagon.

The first one they find is napping peacefully, but sadly for it, Mars has two Safari Balls left and Bagon are a species that go for pretty nice price in the black market. Alas, its fate is sealed.

This time, he snaps his fingers.
[break][break]
Just as when dealing with the little dragon before, the power of a SPRINGTIDE STORM is as devastating as it is overwhelming, and the trees nearby sway, branches breaking. There is no longer any peaceful slumber for the Bagon, but Mars waits until the gale passes to throw the Safari Ball. Otherwise, it would likely get blown away too.

Fond as Mars may be of some of his own evolutions of them, Eevee mean nothing to him anymore. Rarely ever does he get attached to an entire species, and this particular vulpine pokémon certainly isn’t one of them.

Still, he pauses when seeing the skittish pair of Eevee playing beneath a tree, clearly still oblivious to his presence. It’s not that he doesn’t wish to scare them, but it occurs to him that perhaps BARNABY FINCH would like to see a picture of the admittedly adorable scene.

So, he has his Rotom phone take one, sends it, and then continues down the path as if nothing.
