Melody and Ollie had some work to do together! She totally didn't manipulate who ollie got assigned to work with on purpose. [break][break]

Regardless, they had a job to do. She was kind of familiar with these Pokémon, her dad always told her stories about tinkaton's punishing mean evil corviknights who terrorized the skies. "We gotta watch out for them Ollie, they're really terrorists in Paldea from what I've heard from my dad." she says as she releases her skarmory as it takes to the sky, squawking wildly. "I don't have a Corviknight to lure it out but...maybe skarmory will do?"

[break][break] he felt bad about it — because on one hand, he really liked hanging out with melody, but on the other, he couldn't get what MATIAS SILPH had said out of his head. ollie hated being the bad guy. in fact, he went most of his life trying exactly not to be. it was why everything with PENELOPE LIVY still bothered him, because he knew that he had fucked up and that there was nothing he could do to stop it.

[break][break] it was why exactly things with Melody Miro were so complicated. because he didn't want to be that bad guy again.

[break][break] matias had told him to be wary. what did that even mean?

[break][break] ollie may have been stupid, but he wasn't that stupid.

[break][break] even so — he was stupid enough to have shown up to the main HQ that day, not realizing that it was Melody Miro that had requested a ranger today. he should've read the report.

[break][break] still, ollie is perfect on putting up appearances and he plasters a broad smile on his face as they walk towards their destination. easy, ollie. just act normal.

She was glad to finally see him again, he had been avoiding her and she knew it. But she didn't really know why, she also knew it was wrong of her to force him into showing up essentially.[break][break]

But she couldn't help the fact she wanted to see him so bad. [break][break]

Skarmory flies around above them in a circling, allowing the light to gleam off of his metal body in order to attract as much attention as possible. However instead of looking for the Tinkaton's she instead is trying to steal glances at ollie, for whatever sign she could take as the reason why he was avoiding her. [break][break]

Was she too suffocating? Was she too energetic? Not his type? [break][break]

No answer was satisfactory for her. "Oh uhh...short, pink body, white hair, well really its a mix of the two." she says rambling before realizing she was probably speaking too much. "It's biggest characteristic is that it'll have a giant hammer to hit stuff with made of scrap metal."

[break][break] the good-natured teasing escapes him without even thinking about it, though he does feel a little guilty thereafter.

[break][break] "well, you heard her. tofu! nugget!" he throws out a pokeball, releasing his yamper out in front of him. both tofu and nugget run off to look for signs of the supposed pink pokemon, just as Melody Miro's skarmory circles in the sky above them. "let's go find em."

"Hey!" she shouts at him, playfully punching his shoulders as her cheeks did indeed turn a rosey pink as she was caught off guard by his sudden little quip. [break][break]

however she was trying to hide the fact she was relieved momentarily by the jab. [break][break]

She watches his pikachu and yamper run off "Are all your pokemon named after foods?" she asks wondering if Ollie was a person who's personality revolved around his love of food. "Oh, uh...I haven't really been before. I'd love to go. Most of what I know is me learning from my dad. Thats why a lot of my info is spotty...but from what I've heard the landscape is really chaotic, deserts next to frozen mountains, random canyons." she said [break][break]

[break][break] "yeah. stupid, huh? it was 'cause when i was a kid, it was all i could think about. i remember naming a baby taurus eggs and biscuit when i was a kid."

[break][break] growing up on a farm, there was never a shortage of pokemon to name. most of the time, dad was in charge of it but every so often, he'd let his kids take part.

"I would love to go too!" she said excitedly as now she was able to go exploring outside of hoenn like she always dreamed. It'd have to be like a two day trip but.. [break][break]

"It's funny you mention that..if I nickname my pokemon it's usually after story book characters. I named my primarina after Ariel from the little mermaid. Hatterene is rapunzel." As Ollie asked about her parents, she panicked for a moment. Talking about her dad was easy, but her mother...Luckily she wouldn't have to answer just yet as when she opened her mouth, her skarmory was suddenly nailed with a rock. [break][break]

The pokemon began to spiral downwards as he was gonna crash into them. She recalls it quickly into it's pokeball "I think we found one!" she says as suddenly a tinkaton rushed towards the pair, looking for it's victory prize, only to find two humans staring there with a shiny metal ball in one of their hands.

[break][break] his pose falls short, however, as his head snaps to the side as something nails her skarmory.

[break][break] but of course, elite four member Melody Miro is already on it.

[break][break] "nugget!" ollie whistles for his yamper, and sure enough, the pokemon leaps forward with a NUZZLE attack to paralyze it.

"Hah! Of course you did." Made it even more ironic that Melody was referred to as Rapunzel by her mother sometimes, or doll, or it. [break][break]

Melody doesn't have time to dwell on it as ollie's yamper moves in with a nuzzle attack. The move lands as Tinkaton gets pushed back, it's hammer cackling with electricity as the nuzzle attack was effective in paralyzing the Pokémon. However it only stops the menace temporarily [break][break]

The tinkaton throws it's hammer into the air and jumps up to catch it and ready to slam it down onto Melody to get it's pokeball. Hatterne escapes the confines of her pokeball, tossing a protective barrier up with her psychic powers before using it's hair hand to conjure a mystical fire to send the fire type flying back.

ollie made a great flynn ryder. touseled brown hair, bright eyes, and a crooked smile that made all the moms in his elementary school swoon.

[break][break] or at least, that's what pa had said.

[break][break] ollie leaves it up to the elite four member to attack the tinkaton, knowing where his strengths lie. while he was by no means a bad battler, there was a difference between someone like him and someone like her — a national difference.

[break][break] instead, he reaches for his belt and releases chili, his trapinch. the pokemon's ARENA TRAP ability would ensnare the tinkaton, preventing it from fleeing, and giving them enough time to capture it.

Ollie's arena trap comes in at just the nick of time. "Cobalion!" she shouts as the pokemon had been lying in wait for the right chance to strike. [break][break]

It's thunder wave eyes piercing through the pokemon as it's body suddenly keels over and it cant move as it became paralyzed. "Nice move ollie! We did it!!" she cheered, throwing both of her hands into the air suddenly as she celebrated their victory.[break][break]

She was wide open for a hug if ollie took the chance
