As she came to it once more. She heard the clanging of steel against this monstrous organ. Could it even be considered an organ if steel could not pierce it?

She pondered this as Marshadow helped her onto her feet. Soon after, Nikita suggested a trick that might just work.

“I do.” Johanna confirmed, and with one fluid motion she summoned her Gengar. The Ghost Pokemon was eager to see some action. It curiously looked toward the organ. Whatever defenses it had clearly didn’t affect it just yet.

And before it did, Johanna spoke her command. “Retnauh -” The Gengar began to glow as if it already knew what to do. The transformation was quick, well trained, without the flare and fanfare it was usually given during entertainment matches. “- Shadow ball.”

The Gengar summoned forth a sphere of ghastly energy, fueling it with all the power it could and sent it at the organ aiming to break it. The sphere struck true breaking into a wave of energy that seemed to tear cracks in the object before them as they washed over it.

Or did it?

Who knows it could be an illusion after all.

The organ was cracked - at least, as far as anyone could tell. Even Scarlet seemed convinced and satisfied enough with the attack that Retnauh landed against it - the doublade quiet.

In this quiet, Ettie seemed to return to the forefront, the wildchild blinking softly as she took in her surroundings. "Is... Is okay, now?" She asked - glancing to the others. "No more... Pear-a-noya?"

Anne certainly felt a normal level of paranoia - but that was to say that she would be unnerved regardless of whether this organ was still active or not. She gave a growl at the cracked object, but remained close to Ettie's side - licking the top of the wildchild's head briefly in what appeared to be equal parts a display of affection, and a self-soothing mechanism.

This got a soft giggle from the wildchild, as she reached up to pet Anne's mane in turn. Though, given that there didn't appear to be anything else to be found, Ettie returned Scarlet to their sheathes for the time being and settled atop Aurien's back. "We leave..?" She asked - glancing to the others for their thoughts.

They could always continue exploring a little longer - but they had already seen a lot down here, if you asked her.

Nikita offered a simple nod to the gym leader at her confirmation. “Much obliged.” As the transformation took root, he lifted a cigarette to his mouth and lit it. To protect young lungs, he took a few steps away from Ettie and her pack.

With a hawk-like gaze, he watched as the gym leader unleashed Mega Energy on the organ. At first, it bounced like a plate of gelatin—seemingly unharmed. “Hm.” His typical frown tightened into an even thinner line. But, then, he saw it. The outside layer of the thing cracked. Spider webs spread across its surface.

Something gushed out of it—viscous like the rest of this place. It crashed against the surface before disappearing. The niggling at the back of his mind lessened. “It appears so, Miss Ettie.” Though not conquered, it seemed to have retreated in its assault. It reminded him of a frightened Squirtle retreating into its shell. With the thing’s confidence rocked, the dead-ended path became more apparent.

As the detective moved to resettle his cigarette, he noticed scales and webbing upon his hand. The scales appeared higher than the time before—as if this reality remembered his former trespass. With a sigh, the dark-haired man nodded. “I suppose that it is for the best.”

He gestured the girls down the path they had traveled. “Ladies first.”

Whatever this organ was, it seemed to retreat at the use of force. Probably for the better to be honest.

Admittedly Johanna was starting to get a bit tired of the place so the moment both of her fellow companions began to talk about leaving, she felt a great inclination to agree.

This she would voice with a simple few words. “Yeah, let’s get out of here.” And with that she’d join them in leaving this accursed sea.

Though she knew this would not be the last time she was here.
