Hideo's stride was much more confident than usual - yet at the same time, he was a bit jittery. It was his first time finally using his Sygna Suit, and he was very eager to find how well it worked. But at the same time, he didn't know how effective it would be; he didn't want to step in too deep and get himself hurt.

His first chance to test it out came by soon: to see how well it worked against the core's initial radiation. He was tempted to ask for the brunt of it, to show off, but a small hint of caution from his Beheeyem was enough to dissuade him from doing that.

"Well, Melody, you ready to share it? I gotta see what this Suit can do!"

Uxie floated besides him, also eager to see how well his suit worked.

"Ok but pose first, I wanna get a picture of you in your first sygnasuit mission!" she says as Melody felt like a proud parent. But the time for being goofy was coming to a close as they had to activate the sygnasuit to repel the ore's influence. [break][break]

She taps on the core on her sygnasuit as the infinity energy washes over here and increases her resilience against the energy that made this place unlivable. "Let's take on the brunt together. one...two...and.." she says as the beat fell on three and she lead him by the hand into the area and took on the energy together.

Hideo perked up, turning towards Melody. He hadn't even thought about taking a picture in his new Sygna Suit yet. He flashed a "V" sign with his hand, his Beheeyem getting in close to also be within the shot. Uxie, meanwhile, floated behind the camera - had to stay secret after all (and Uxie wanted to see the picture get taken).

Goofiness achieved, it was time to actually get to work and share the core's effects. Hideo tapped the core of his Sygna Suit, infinity energy flowing through it. He felt Uxie's mental shielding follow after, and they made their approach.

It was like wearing an additional layer of clothing in winter; he could feel the core's radiation like he always did, but it was even dimmer than before. More like a light breeze than drizzling rain.

His Pokemon were intent on keeping him safe, letting Hideo's Diggersby do the work while they ensured everyone was kept safe from the core's effects.

Choice: Focus on heals/defense +50 points

She didn't have a Pokémon she knew that was really an expert at mining this ore so Melody watches for just a bit before remembering she had an old friend with her that might be able to help in her own way. "Phione! Lend a helping hand would you?" she asks as suddenly the Phione melody got from her excursions emerges from her pokeball, rubbing her eye before watching Hideo's pokemon focus on digging the ore that was embedded in the strange dirt. [break][break]

She begins to clap her hands and send her energy to her ally "Nice one Hideo, I forgot to bring someone who can dig hehe." As she pats him on his head.

Hideo couldn't resist letting out a snort. "Forgot to bring a miner on a mining job? Come on, Melody." It wouldn't be a big deal; his Diggersby was good enough at mining on her own - though they probably weren't gonna get their full load before it was time to go.

Besides, it was time for their regularly-scheduled creature appearance, Hideo's Beheeyem informing him when it appeared. It looked like a dark Roserade, with blue flowers on its hands and a very distinct pair of bug-like wings on its back. It seemed quite overjoyed to encounter Hideo and Melody, doing a small dance with a wide smile on its face.

Unfortunately, Hideo couldn't enjoy the dance fully; his Beheeyem couldn't do well at describing it for him.

Further unfortunately, the end of that dance was punctuated by a ton of petals flying through the air, a Petal Blizzard flying towards them. Uxie got in front of Hideo, a Protect shielding him from the worst of it, but a bit of it still got through.

His Sygna Suit was put to the test once more, keeping Hideo safe from harm. It held up well against the petals, Hideo keeping an arm up to keep any spare petals away from his face. He could feel them as they hit his suit, but it held up just fine.

Choice: Battle a fusion Pokemon (Butterfree/Roserade) +50 points

She crossed her arms and pouted "I'm a fighter! Not a manual labor person!" she says as she realized she was saying it to someone who was a child. She just didn't want to admit her oversight as she suddenly realized one of those fusion pokemon appeared once again like last time. [break][break]

Melody could see it was a blend between a roserade and a butter free...so poison grass bug or flying. Uxie defends Hideo by using protect over them and Melody calls out to her Primarina "Icy wind!" she orders as Primarina's maw unleashes a frigid cold wind that freezes parts of her wing and limiting her movement. "Phione! Use return!" she says as she spins and then tosses the phione is covered in a flurry of pink hearts due to RETURN. [break][break]

You must escape with your gathered material. Your ally or allies may be incapacitated by the paranoia settling in their psyches, or perhaps, the eldritch mutations beginning to metamorphose their body or bodies.[break][break]

Depending on how much your characters have mined, you may need to lessen your extracted load to ensure successful escape from this wretched place. After all, the horrors that reside here may make chase.

But no time to argue on that front: they had a battle to get through. Melody was the first to strike, her Pokemon landing some solid blows on the creature - who very dramatically took the hits, twirling and spinning as each one hit. A few tossed rocks from his Beheeyem's Rock Tomb spelled the end for this creature's appearance, disappearing into mist just as it dramatically feel back-first to the ground.

Sometimes, Hideo questioned just how mindless these things really were.

"Well, guess we're gonna have to leave some stuff here, since we didn't bring enough muscle." His Diggersby could carry some stuff, but Uxie was more preoccupied observing the strange happenings that occurred whenever they beat the creatures that appeared, and he needed his Beheeyem to focus on keeping him from tripping over anything.

A shame, but it's not like they couldn't come back again later. "Well, good to know these Sygna Suits really do work well! Gonna have to take this for a spin next time I'm out in the Wilds!"
