THE 99943 METENO METEROID HURTLES TOWARD HOENN AT STARTLING SPEED. Unless Commissioner Dahlia Goode's government succeeds in diverting the meteoroid to Sea Hoenn, it is the end of the world as we know it.[break][break]

People react to apocalypses in their own ways. Some reject it and seek last-minute solutions. Others conquer their fears to say and do things they always wished but never thought they could.[break][break]

• Prompts can be fulfilled in IC mission and social threads only.
• Complete prompts from the four tiers below to gain rewards. Completing all prompts in a tier will earn you an additional reward.
• For the first three tiers, a maximum of two prompts can be fulfilled in a single thread.
• For the fourth tier, you cannot combine multiple prompts into a single thread. Each prompt must be fulfilled in its own thread. However, you can fulfill a maximum of one prompt from the previous three tiers in one thread for the fourth tier.
• All of your characters can participate, but each prompt can only be completed once per player.

WITH BOTH THE THREAT OF THE METEOROID AND THE DOME surrounding Hoenn gone, people throughout the region are starting to feel optimistic about their futures. At the end of the year, many are getting into a celebratory, holiday spirit, especially with the promise of a new year and new opportunities.[break][break]

What better way to ring in the coming year than drinks and fun at your local watering hole? In fact, several bars, clubs, casinos, and other similar establishments across Hoenn are hosting New Year's Eve parties. Stop by for discounted drinks, delicious food, and charming company. Then pay your tab and make your way to the next stop to do it all over again!

• Prompts must be completed in IC mission or social threads.
• Complete the prompts below to gain rewards. The threads do not have to be completed by the deadline in order to count, as long as the prompt itself has been fulfilled by then.
• Your character does not have to drink the signature drinks in order for a post to count toward the prompt. The drinks simply have to be referenced in some way.
• All of your characters who are age 18 or older can participate, but each prompt can only be completed once per player. Characters younger than 18 cannot participate.
• Rewards can be redeemed by a different character than the one who completed the prompt.
• Two characters (yours and another player's) cannot fulfill more than one prompt together. For example, if Dahlia and Fernando go drinking at Ritual together, they cannot also go drinking at Walpurgisnacht together. However, Fernando can go to Walpurgisnacht with gym leader Noah Faber instead.
• Only posts written between DECEMBER 16 and JANUARY 31, 2023 11:59 PM EST will count for each prompt.

EXPOSITION

CASINO STARLIGHT IN SOOTOPOLIS IS REOPENING TO THE PUBLIC. After the departure of former Rocket underboss Killian Decker, the casino is now under new management. And what better way to commemorate such an occasion and usher in the summer than a party?[break][break]

Yumi Hasegawa is inviting one and all to a glamorous costume party at Casino Starlight, inspired by A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. Costumes themed after faeries and the feywild are encouraged. Bring your Fairy and Dark-type Pokémon with you, too! Come for dinner and a show, music and dancing, and of course, gambling![break][break]

THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE BEFORE GOODBYE GALAR

ROUNDING OFF THE NIGHT

Dinner ends and the dancers return backstage. As staff whisk away used plates, utensils, and glasses, the man's voice from earlier came back on the PA system to say:[break][break]

"Dearest guests, it is our pleasure to introduce the Explouders Jazz and Swing Ensemble, a Sootopolian band who will set the pace for tonight's merriment. If you are feeling lively, come up on the dance floor. Otherwise, enjoy decadent desserts made by our chefs."[break][break]

Musicians gather upon the stage, dressed in dapper suits and bowties. Ceiling lights fall upon the dance floor in front of them, indicating where guests should gather if they wish to dance.[break][break]

At the opposite end of the room, staff members arrange platters and trays of desserts upon a long banquet table. All manner of scrumptious snacks are made available: bite-sized chocolate fudge brownies, mini berry tarts, round cheesecake bites, small bags of popcorn, candy bars, and more.[break][break]

"Additionally, the balcony doors on this floor have been unlocked so guests can enjoy a fireworks show to close off the night. And as always, the casino remains open for any and all interested in testing their luck."[break][break]

Those who wander onto the balcony find a gorgeous view of Sootopolis at night laid out before them. Tables and chairs are available for lounging, while shadowed pockets of the balcony allow for more private conversations.[break][break]

Fireworks launch into the sky, exploding in brilliant bursts of shimmering color. Some of them have been cleverly shaped to resemble Pokémon. Anyone seeking refuge from the noise can return inside, where more gambling and games await.[break][break]

• All of your characters may participate in the event. However, you may only claim rewards once per round on one character. In other words, two of your characters may not claim the same reward from a round.
• Despite being set in Sootopolis, League characters can participate. Civilians are encouraged to attend. However, if you play a League official of any kind (Gym Leaders, Rangers, officers, government personnel), please consider the IC consequences of showing up in the heart of Rocket territory. The risk may be too great.
• Though you may include the prompts more than once in your posts in a round, you can only claim a reward once from completing the corresponding prompt. This includes the gambling prompt, even though multiple rewards are possible from it.
• You may complete more than one prompt per post, within reason. Write what feels natural and appropriate, instead of trying to hit all the prompts at once.
• You may put rewards into your PCs immediately upon completing the prompts. To use them, post in the site shop.
• You can join the event at any time, even if you missed earlier rounds. However, you will not be able to redeem rewards from rounds you have missed.
• Please do not spam the thread with multiple posts from your own characters. Give others a chance to engage and respond!
