But no, my real answer is I write my posts in browser because I'm a masochist who likes the thrill of potentially losing a post, apparently. I think for GG I wrote my posts in Calmlywriter, but that was it.

Most of the time, I spend like an hour stressing over which template to use and trying different icons/templates/color variations. Then I end up using the same freaking template I've used for 4 years.

I use Google Docs! I have one big document with all my running threads headered/linked, then I c/p in what I'm replying to for a reference. Like 90% of the time I don't finish a post in one sitting, so this way lets me bounce around posts without losing anything. Also means I have any template changes (active Pokémon, user tags, notes etc.) ready without me needing to remember them.

I write my stuff in OpenOffice Writer first, then grab my template from a previous post to plug my new text into. I also do all my writing exclusively on my desktop.

OpenOffice is nice because it's basically just a free version of MS Word - back in MY day, that just came with your gosh dang computer and you didn't have to pay no stinkin' SUBSCRIPTION for it!
