she'd been alone when she had initially experienced a mild pressure, one which had been barely noticed until it was immediately followed by signs that it was time for her to prepare. a surge of uncertainty and excitement resulted from the unfamiliar sensations, the woman tucking herself into her and senon's room with a phone in hand as she made the necessary calls.
her fiancé was roughly a town over when he received the alert, but he'd likely arrive within moments if he had immediate access to a pokemon capable of utilizing teleport. several calls followed - the first to alert her chosen doctor and the final two to alert her parents.
"hypno?"
- yes, mistress? -
"stay with me. please."
the pokemon helped her settle onto the bed, noting the woman's eyes were a little wet.

she had decided on having the twins in her own home - on her own bed. the arrangement brought her comfort, though she couldn't be administered an epidermal because of it. it was a sacrifice she could live with, though the pain caused her to almost immediately regret her choice as the hours began to trickle by at a sluggish pace. while the pregnancy had been easy - this was not.
it was like she became increasingly aware of her own innards. there was a shock of pain down her spine with each contraction - followed by the uncomfortable feel of forcing her muscles to tirelessly work on pushing the little ones out. her senses were a mess, her mind focused on breathing - on the pain - and on her bruising grip on senon's hand. despite the size of her tiny paw, the hold she had upon him was fierce - her nails digging into skin.
he sought to comfort her - as did hypno who soon grabbed hold of her other hand - but she could only weep in agony.

they had arrived earlier than expected - they were small - but they were healthy. both she and the twins were cleaned up, the doctor ensuring she was properly tended to in the aftermath. the babes were effectively swaddled and dressed in caps, though it was remarkably easy to tell them apart.
little enca, after all, had taken completely after her father. there was not a sign of cait within the child, her skin just as fair and her hair just as red.
while tiny primrose boasted her darker skin, brown eyes and a head full of green hair.
she lay in bed with the freshly delivered pair, comfortably reclined and breastfeeding both. despite the arduous experience, cait appeared to be immensely satisfied - having thanked the doctor prior to him leaving. once he had left she offered a tired little laugh, finding herself utterly fixated.
"just look at them. they look so -... "
the tired woman gave a little snort.
"...different. at least we don't have to ever worry about mixing them up."
