"Some people allow themselves to be corrupted, and break their vows. Others never meant the vows they took.", Thomas told the boy.

"You've seen them before, then?", Thomas asked the boy.

Thomas took in the aftermath of what had played out before. The streets of Lumioise were eerily quiet. Nightfall had seemed to have cast the City of Light into total darkness.

"I hope not. Rocket territory under darkness is the worst place to be.", Thomas told the boy.

Suddenly, a group of Rockets emerged from the shadows. Accompanied by Houndoom and Mightyena, the Rockets seemed to be closing in on the trio.

"Time to get the fuck out!"

Thomas quickly brought out Kalameet, getting Oz onto its back, before flying off. From below, the Marshadow would continue to guide the group towards the exit.

Unfortunately, at the exit, they would encounter a barrier. Spectral, by the looks of it. And with the Rockets were closing in fast.

"I wonder.", Thomas began, before channeling Z-Power through his Hydreigon.

Charging up three dark beams, the Hydreigon would combine them to form a large Hydreigon head, unleashing it at the barrier.

Draconian Wrath, Hydreigon's Z-Move, shattered the barrier upon impact. The Marshadow slunk back into Thomas' shadow, before Thomas flew off on Kalameet, leaving the Rockets on the island.

In the heat of the moment, the adrenaline rush prevented Thomas from processing the cut to the neck he received from Desiree's sheers. The Kalosian, instead, took notice to Vanilla's Altaria saving him from being stabbed in the back. He gave the cotton dragon a thumbs up in thanks.

He then turns back to Desiree, seeing her chain subside. But more importantly, blood on the shears. Thomas groped the side of his neck, looking down to notice blood coming from his wound. Thankfully, the wound was superficial in nature.

"Des, it's okay. I know that wasn't you.", he reassured her. Thomas would continue to look for any signs that Vanilla was alright.

This would be interrupted, as Megalopolan reinforcements went on the attack. The group would attempt to use Poipole and Nangandal toxins to subdue them. Meanwhile, those who weren't lucky enough to shake off the effects of their Toxic Chain were being lead into the ship. The strange Ursaluna, in a rush, managed to take down the man impersonating Spencer Modell.

With the Space Time Distortion forming around them, they were left with a choice. Either lure the Megalopolan forces into it, before it closes, trapping them somewhere in the past. Or attempt to hijack the ship, likely saving the Ursaluna, but trapping the Megalopolans in their time.

Thomas didn't need to think on it long. The idea of allowing the Megalopolans to meddle with past civilizations didn't sit well with Thomas. Their own society had a hellish time taking them on three years ago. What chance would a century from centuries, if not millennia, have against a technologically advanced, and war hungry race like the Megalopolans?

While another war, another enemy, was not something they needed now, Thomas felt that if the Megaloplans were sent back in the past, they'd do far more damage than they would now. Potentially even wiping out humanity long before any of them were born.

Thomas, accompanied by Artanis, rushed towards the ship. The Iron Valiant began to carve their way through any Megalopolans in their path with Psycho Cut. Meanwhile, Thomas, in his rush, would be met with a dilemma. He only had one shot at freeing one of his allies from their Toxic Chain, if he was to make it to the ship.

Would he free Aubre McKenna-Settentrione , Genevieve Cromwell , or Kazimir Wynter ? As much as he wanted to free all three from the mental bondage of the Toxic Chains, he had to pick one.

Logically, that choice was Kazimir Wynter . He felt that the Pokkenger was not only one of the most dangerous one they could control, but that if freed, he could free someone else from their Chain.

Seizing his opportunity, Thomas attempted to jump onto Kazimir's back. With his bowie knife, Thomas attempted to sever the shriveled head from the body of his friend.

He hoped this would work out, as he had to quickly move to the ship, if he hoped to reach its controls.

Though the boy didn't remember his name, the fact that he could remember his sister's was helpful. K Hoffman, a boy that died in Rocket's attempt on Johto.

Thomas allowed the boy the time he needed to process the request. Thomas took the boy's hand gently.

"Yeah, it seemed like it.", Thomas replied. The Kalosian frowned as he mentioned what his grandpa instilled in him. "Unfortunately, some doctors are more than willing to abuse that trust. And from the looks of this place, it looked like he was using his knowledge to hurt people, rather than heal them.", Thomas remarked.

His Marshadow would begin to creep around the building, tapping on objects to lead them towards the back door. Once they got out the door, the Marshadow would continue to guide them outside of this realm.

Thomas frowned as he heard that the boy was from Johto. He began to connect the dots in his head. Kid must've been a victim of their failed attempt to take the Region, following Rocket's successful takeover of Kanto.

Thomas allowed the kid to process the news. He knew it wouldn't be easy for the kid to accept the fact that he died.

"A sister? I can help you find her. What were your names?", Thomas woud ask the boy.

He didn't have much faith, but if his sister survived the attack, then he could look her up. If not, then he figured she might've made it to the afterlife, by now.

"Listen, I promise to reunite you with your sister. Let's just get out of this place first, yeah?", Thomas offered the boy, holding out a hand to him.

Thomas waited patiently for her to pull up the message. When he read it, the first person that came to mind was Bernstein. Though he never spoke to the man before, the fact that this came up after she chose Callan over him immediately cast suspicion unto him.

"What a creepy fucker.", Thomas remarked. "To tell you the truth, Callan sent me on this guy's trail. I didn't think the subject would come up today, but thank you for confiding all this in me.", he'd reveal to her. "I'll be watching this slimy prick closely. Just watch your back, someone like him might either have their muscle, or hired help, tail you. I don't know how far he'd actually go, but assume he's got some fucked up shit in mind.", he'd advise her.

The Florges hummed happily as she snuggled into the Arcanine. She was glad that the gentle beast was having fun, and basking in the affection he gave her. The Florges gave the Arcanine another peck on the head.

Under just about any other circumstance, Thomas would've slapped Oz on the back of the head for his antics. This time, he knew it was the spirit of the boy compelling him to hide. The kid was clearly scared, and rightly so.

Thomas listened as the boy spoke. It seemed that he didn't know that he was dead. The shriek emitted managed to shatter the lights, plunging the room into darkness.

"Are you from the Kanto Region? Johto? Hoenn? Or somewhere else?", he'd ask.

Whatever the answer, Thomas frowned. "I'm sorry to say, but you're dead. You're now a ghost wandering the Border between life and death.", he'd tell the boy.

"Tell me, did you have a family?"

Thomas watched as the ghost of the boy crawled up into Oz's body. Thomas looked down at what remained.

"Kid, I know you did that to survive! I'm not gonna-", Thomas began, before the boy fled into the city.

Knowing that Oz might be in trouble, Thomas rushed after him. They would end up in what seemed to be a run-down hospital, repurposed into a grisly torture chamber.

Thomas kicked open the door after Oz, interrupting the doctor. In a panic, the "good" doctor grabbed a scalpel, and lunged for Thomas. Thomas, thanks to some expert dodging, was able to maneuver around the doctor's swings, before eventually slamming his head into the wall at an opportune time, finishing the fight with a swift boot to the head.

"Kid, you don't need to do this!", Thomas pleaded with the ghost. "Please, tell me how you ended up in this realm!"

A tip had rolled in. There was supposed to be a major deal involving stolen Pokemon. A group of pirates were going to sell a haul of Pokemon stolen off of a cruise liner they recently attacked. No word was given about the hostages taken.

Acting on this tip, Gunner Graves and Thomas Benoit were to conduct surveillance on the area where it was supposed to go down. Setting up the cameras was easy, thanks to the Marshadow Thomas brought along with him. The Gloomdweller was able to stealthily plant the cameras in each entrance, his Porygon acting to bring them online, and defend them from any attacks from rival Porygon.

Inside of a shipping crate that acted as their command center, and hiding spot, Thomas sat on a stool. The man's eyes were on the wall of monitors set up, one linked to each spy camera.

The Kalosian, who had recently turned himself into the League for his actions as the Wraith, cracked open a thermos containing coffee. The Kalosian poured some of its contents into a disposable cup.

"Want some? I brought extra cups.", Thomas offered the HBIC agent that was overseeing the mission, and him.

Thomas' eyes rolled at the ridiculous man's responses. "Whatever you say, pal.", Thomas remarked, before continuing on his way.

"Just watch your step.", Thomas replied to Oz.

Eventually, the two would reach the island. What Thomas would see would shock him to the core. It was as if they had ended up in Lumiose City. Only it was openly occupied by Rocket.

Grunts in uniforms patrolled the streets. Venomous eyes scanned around the area, obscured by the shade of their white hats. Toothy grins manifested on their faces, as they spotted a boy fleeing with a baguette in his arms.

The boy would trip, and the grunts, like Sharpedo smelling blood in the water, closed in on him. From there, a grisly beating would ensue. By the end of it, the Rockets made off with the boy's baguette, leaving him beaten, broken, and bloodied in the alleyway.

A voice called out across speakers mounted through different points in the city. They were to gather at the foot of the Prism Tower. People huddled towards the tower, pushed along by the grunts running the city.
