The DESCENT into the FEEDING PIT is chaotic. Like a corrupted crystal, this was a new facet of hell for Remiel Calcifet to witness. Panic, rage, and desperation filled the air as everyone fought and fled. Carrying luka chêne on his back and trying not to lose Diana Cavendish was difficult enough as they maneuvered their way through the crowded bottleneck below.[break][break]

Lagging, however, proves to be a temporary boon as the ogre from before (OGERPON) dons a fiery mask. The prisoners at the front are forced to contend with this and the toxic NIHILEGO that emerge beside it. As they attack, Remiel's heart nearly drops at the sight of Elise Calcifet and Andrea Vaneau rushing in as some of the first. "Elise, no!"[break][break]

Where chaos had erupted before, it was flaming out of control here. Amid various actions, Remiel turns to Diana Cavendish with a worried look. "We need to get out of here. I want to stay and fight but..." He regards Luka's unconscious expression on his left shoulder. "We can't leave Luka behind in this state. Are you with me?" He asks, turning back to the other royal.[break][break]

It was an awkward ask. Such dedication proved that Remiel still cared for luka chêne deeply. Now was not the time to go into a full explanation regarding their history, however. And Elise Calcifet would have to prove that she was capable of, not simply saving her own life, but the life of another, too. "That exit looks less crowded than the other," The exiled prince states, pointing his spear towards the FLESHY TUBE in the distance. "Let's go!"[break][break]

A burst of adrenaline that flows through his veins propels him forward, weaving through a crowd of bodies and past STEALTH ROCKS as he tries not to slip on the scattered mochi and rubble below. As he nears the exit, however, he spots a NIHILEGO approaching Andrea Vaneau in her endeavor to keep the OGERPON still. His sandals skid to a stop before he reels his right arm back, casting his SPEAR to strike the NIHILEGO and set it AFLAME.[break][break]

But there's no time to waste. A quick look in their direction is all he can spare before moving on again, hoping they understood that he cared for them and wished to see them emerge from this alive more than anything. As he approaches the FLESH TUBE to ESCAPE, he spots Cillian Quinn and Lulu Flint eyeing it, too. And, though his initial glare is sharp, it quickly melts away into an understanding nod.[break][break]

So he hadn't been the only one with family here, had he? Their stakes were just as high.[break][break]

TOXIC CHAIN ABILITY - VEXILLUM CAELI (HEAVEN'S STANDARD)[break][break]

Remiel Calcifet imposes his vision of an IDEAL WORLD upon targets. If the targets go against this vision, they are afflicted with a terrible burning sensation before being set aflame partially or entirely (depending on the offense). The TOXIC CHAIN forms into a divine spear in Remiel's hand when this ability is activated. Impaling something with this spear can activate the burning flame as well.[break][break]

In the corner of his cell, Remiel marvels at the small basin of tears he has gathered. There, in its pool of clear light, the imprisoned prince perceives a vision: AZELF at the bottom of a lake. Just as he had seen it alongside Eris Halla during their RKS SIMULATION.[break][break]

Was that the key to their escape somehow? He looks over his shoulder to ensure Cillian Quinn is still sleeping. He supposed any escape plan would require some form of collaboration... even with someone as detestable as him. He resolves to continue gathering his tears and strengthen the vision further. Though, before long, the means to escape would come to him in a dream anyway.[break][break]

With SPEAR in hand, Remiel fights his way below until he finds luka chêne and Diana Cavendish on their level. Upon seeing the former unconscious, he's quick to scoop down and grab her with his free hand before leading the way again. "We need to advance! Go!" He urges those around him, pointing his weapon at OKIDOGI to summon his newfound power.[break][break]

The sphere of influence that his concept of an IDEAL WORLD exudes manifests as a golden glow in his eyes. He glares at the large cat with this power, setting it partially aflame for going against the tenets of these IDEALS by its very nature.[break][break]

The SINISTEA possessing said teacup suddenly comes to life, quickly hovering to attention as its master continues. "We have company," He says, scooting his chair back before reaching down to pick the Tirtouga up. Though it flinched from his touch, the turtle eventually realized the human wasn't about to eat it and settled in.[break][break]

"I suppose teatime will have to wait."

"There has to be some way out of here..." Remiel responds to luka chêne before shifting his gaze to the others. Diana's previous embrace had been returned; strongly. Though now Remiel had to contend with getting them all out, rather than just himself and his cousin. Admittedly, mentioning a CHAMBER OF DESIRES piqued his interest.[break][break]

Would it be possible to access this room before they escaped? Where could he find it? Unfortunately, before he can ask, the dream world around them swiftly begins to fade away. And, just as the royal promises them he'll find a way, everything goes black... before he awakes to the sweet scent of mochi and the sour stench of sweat.[break][break]

What did Remiel's utmost DESIRE manifest as? A look into the WELLSPRING MASK provided him with a vision of a world free of TEAM ROCKET and the DRK TRIAD. Justice and order presiding over HOENN and GALAR alike. Humanity finally working together as a whole toward a collective endeavor.[break][break]

Such glorious freedom came at a cost, but ZEKROM's righteous lightning would smite those taking advantage of such privilege. And the vision assured him this future was possible. There was a path to achieving his IDEAL WORLD.[break][break]

And he would weaponize his will to seize it.[break][break]

The next dreadful morning, Remiel awakes with tears in his eyes. Sensing something strange from them, he tilts his head to the side to carefully collect them upon his palm. They glisten strangely there before he decides to collect them within a small basin of shattered rock fragments he's created in secret.[break][break]

A weak hint of a smirk tugs at the corner of his lips at the sight of Cillian Quinn on the floor. Remiel, in the meantime, sits upon the cot alone, garbed in freshly pressed garments after a merciful excuse for a shower. However, he doesn't stay conscious for long before the allure of sleep takes him into another world with the others.[break][break]

ULTRA MEGALOPOLIS. ZEKROM, suspended in a strange tank beneath a futuristic plaza. The return of his AVATAR abilities without the influence of the TOXIC CHAIN to suppress them. All of these things lead Remiel down the dark path of seizing a MEGALOPOLAN and bringing him to his knees.[break][break]

Past the pained expressions of being electrocuted, he recognizes the MEGALOPOLAN as one of the guards in his ward. But this one offers very little regarding intel. He didn't want to be TOXIC CHAINED, he pleaded. He didn't know who the NEVER-ROT was, he promised.[break][break]

Fueled by primal anger and fear, Remiel grabs the alien by the collar and spawns a LIGHTNING BOLT in his other hand before—[break][break]

ZAP!

[break]

A beacon of LIGHTNING strikes down from the sky, echoing a shimmering neon blue light throughout the city skyscrapers. It is only when the MEGALOPOLAN's smoking body collapses onto the ground that he realizes Elise Calcifet is standing there at the edges of the plaza. Suddenly, he considers what he's just done... though runs off to hug her just the same.[break][break]

"I-I'm so sorry... how long have you been standing there?" He asks in a half-whisper, taking notice of two approaching figures in the distance before growing wide-eyed. "... Diana? Luka?"[break][break]

They're sitting on a pair of benches in the plaza. Below them, through the translucent floor, they can see ZEKROM in his suspended slumber. Remiel tells them about the WEAKLING WARD and what they went through, surmises that this dream must be some sort of echo of ULTRA MEGALOPOLIS as it once was, and promises them he will do his best to get them all out of there. Though he reeks of worry and desperation nonetheless.[break][break]

For the time being, any awkwardness between his former lover and his current one is ignored.[break][break]

Instead, after surmising that luka chêne and Diana Cavendish are in the UGLY WARD, Remiel asks: "What is going on in there? Why was the DUMMY WARD punished?" Asking if they were okay was pointless, after all. None of them were okay.[break][break]

Remiel chuckles, shaking his head as he replies. "Believe me: I know. I can be a bit of a 'workaholic' myself, or so I'm told. What we do is important and fulfilling, yes, but we all need a moment to take pleasure in the little things, too. It's easy to lose scope of things without it." He adds, briefly recalling Isra Nightingale and his time in TEAM ROCKET with a melancholic gleam in his eye.[break][break]

Blinking that feeling away, however, the royal smiles. "Anyway, I enjoy a bit of swordplay and dragon-riding in my downtime. There's nothing like reading your favorite book and having a cup of coffee atop the tallest tree in FORTREE FOREST. Can't beat the view." A content sigh escapes his lips as he recalls the sunrises and sunsets spent there. His happy place as of late.[break][break]

Remiel casts a brief glare at the Froslass nearby. It seemed WATTSON had been unsuccessful in detaining it. Nevertheless, Mei opts to have it stand down. An escalation of violence here was unwise. It was already clear her assassination attempt had failed.[break][break]

The grip around her wrists doesn't loosen despite the gesture, however. The haggard EX-ADMIN keeps her pinned to the wall with them, pressed upon her close with a knee between her legs, restricting much of her movement. Despite the adrenaline coursing through his veins now, however, and despite the searing pain upon his back... the curiosity in her seafoam eyes infects his own.[break][break]

He can't deny it. The rush from before hasn't dissipated yet either. Had it all been a ruse? Or had there really been some sort of connection there? Primal as it may have been, it still sizzles beneath his skin like a warm fire. But things had changed. To explore that any further was foolish. Even still...[break][break]

What was he planning to do with her now?

[break]

Tying her up and waiting for the LEAGUE to show up was as foolish as her engaging in combat with him. If she was the professional he imagined her to be, Remiel knew she had contingencies. Particularly: the Froslass that hovered nearby in a semi-corporeal state.[break][break]

Alas, with their faces so close, he whispers to her: "Don't ever come after me again, Mei Liu. It'll be the last thing you do." The defector matter-of-factly warns, slightly shifting in position as his hues of cobalt-blue drift down from her eyes to the rest of her face. Only then does the simmering beneath his skin flare as their lips meet again.[break][break]

This time, however, the act is much less gentle. Where the previous had flowed like a pristine river, this was a raging wildfire, stoked with the thrill of danger, violence, and anger. As it reaches a crescendo, however, and Remiel drops his hands from her wrists to frame her face instead, there's a sharp and abrupt ZAP.[break][break]

And his would-be assassin falls unconscious.[break][break]

The ZEKROM AVATAR had used his lips as a conduit through which to flow his electricity. Mei Liu might come to this realization when she comes to minutes afterward, back against the wall but, seemingly, gently placed down. Remiel Calcifet was, of course, nowhere to be found now.[break][break]

And, with his ability to TELEPORT, it was almost impossible to guess where he had disappeared, leaving only the lingering static on her lips.[break][break]

Remiel brightens at the realization in the Appletun's upturned eyes. Memories of the small Totodile chasing the bushel of Applin around the draciary streak across his mind for a moment before raspy growls fill his ears. The pirate, it seems, has entered a siren's cove in search of treasure.[break][break]

As the play continues, the pirate is soon joined by a trio of sirens that call this place home: played, of course, by a couple of PRIMARINA. He tries to impress them with a WATER GUN, firing it upward like a watery fireworks show. But, alas, it seems they know the real reason why he's here.[break][break]

As they put on evil expressions, however, the fear reflected in his Totodile's eyes seems a little too real. So real, in fact, that the Totodile seems frozen in place now as they dance around him with their fangs bared.[break][break]
