Remiel chuckles and pats his cousin on the shoulder in response. "There's no need to apologize, Elise," He assures her. "And no need for formalities either. Try to relax and enjoy the festival for what it is."

With that said, the royal turns his attention back to the CARAMEL DIPPLIN stick in his other hand. "And of course I'd remember. It was one of the only ways to stop your crying when you were little." He teases, raising the treat sideways to his mouth afterward so he can take a proper crunch out of it.

Upon seeing this, his Archen swiftly glides down from the tent pole above to perch itself atop his shoulder and caw for a bite of its own. He leers at it.

"Not a chance, Albian."

Unlike the previous few, the HAXORUS that came to consider Radagast a tasty snack would not be easily fended off. It was a larger creature, after all. It was faster and stronger and went it came in to take a BITE out of Radagast's back, there was little the Appletun could do but struggle until he broke free.

When the Haxorus gave chase, however, the clever little dragon would come prepared. It had set up a GRASS KNOT that the larger dragon would fall for easily. Tripping on its feet, the axe-headed beast crashed into the ground with a thud. It cast Radagast a vicious LEER as it got back up, but was then pelted with LEECH SEED that kept it down.

Remiel arrived on the scene shortly thereafter. Needless to say, he was surprised Radagast had held his own against such a powerful dragon. Pulling an empty Luxury Ball out from his pack, he steps forward to capture the Haxorus.

The presence of one bug seemed to attract another. Though this one was of a wild nature— a draconic sort. A VIBRAVA had picked up the signal the Orbeetle was emitting. It had taken its presence here as a challenge of territory.

If Remiel had to guess, there was likely a FLYGON nest somewhere nearby. Regardless, the Vibrava attacks Javik with a FEINT ATTACK as a result of this mistaken encroachment. Javik, however, REFLECTS the attack with a barrier and a SWARM of smaller bugs. The Vibrava succumbs, and Remiel is free to capture it within the confines of a Luxury Ball.

"I used to go there every summer," Remiel answers, directing his Pokémon to different areas with simple hand gestures. "My father is from the TOUSIGNANT clan. We have a rich and long history in the land just north of CAMPHRIER TOWN."

He'd designed his estate north of RUSTBORO after the ROYAL TOUSIGNANT CASTLE and the vineyards it surrounded itself with. But he didn't want to sound boastful. He simply had great enthusiasm for architecture and history. Which was why he had chosen to be an archaeologist, of course.

In the meantime, with his phalanx of Falinks doing much of the mining on their own, Remiel is granted enough time to gaze out at the strange cosmic vista that the chamber provides. He knows this is a side-effect of the hallucinogens filling said chamber, of course. And, when a NIHILEGO seemingly appears out from that cosmic void, he knows it is probably time to take a break from the mining.

With his Falinks setting up a defensive barrier around them and fighting off the Nihilego that drifted too close, the exiled prince pauses to reach into his pack to pull out an insulated thermos flask. After unscrewing its top and separating it into two separate cups, he pours one out for Desiree and hands it over with a smile.

"It's chamomile tea made with BUDEW leaves. It'll help with the anxiety you're feeling while we rest."

Dragons were resilient. Remiel knew that better than most given his heritage. So he wasn't exactly worried about the Cyclizar and their little tussle, and he was about to say as much to Josh. But, just before then, he reconsidered. It wasn't his place to offer advice on taming his dragons, after all. He would learn on his own.

"Oh, yes, I've read about that," Remiel replies, tucking one arm in while propping the other upon it and stroking his chin. "I hadn't realized you were to thank for that discovery. Kudos, Josh." He smiles, briefly shifting his gaze towards Saragosa as she approaches the Cyclizar nearby.

The Illumina Garchomp lowers her head to be level with them... then takes a deep sniff. Her shark-like tail slowly flicks to and fro, a sign of minor predatory behavior. Eventually, that turns into a gentle sway. It seems that, for now, Saragosa is interested in simply playing.

Meanwhile, Rocinante excitedly stamps his front hooves as the new human approaches. Though such an act may startle Josh, Remiel quickly assures the gym leader that Rocinante is not aggressive. The equine does well to convey this by bowing his head next, allowing the gym leader to pat his flowing purple mane and the bottom of his neck.

"I think he's ready to go," The exiled prince remarks with a nod. "Need help mounting him?"

Remiel thinks on his cousin's words for a moment. Given everything in Hoenn, there were many reasons for those canines of legend to come. But he isn't permitted much time to ponder that when a HONCHKROW blots out the sun from the sky with its wings.

Rather comically, however, the large crow is struck with a BOLT STRIKE before it can unleash a WING ATTACK upon the two royals. Remiel thanks Zekrom for that with a silent nod, then returns to his conversation as he captures the Honchkrow with a Luxury Ball. "Perhaps they're doing it on behalf of Galar?" He suggests. "I've heard that they are attuned to the will of our people, after all. But maybe that's just hopeful thinking."

"That's a good question," Remiel responds, watching as a DRAGONAIR descends from the storm clouds above in a fit of rage. "I've never tested Zekrom's speed before. Perhaps you and I can change that someday soon."

Sure enough, the Dragonair chooses the other dragon in the sky to spar with. As she attacks Zekrom with a SLAM, Remiel turns to regard BLINKY and the supercharged state that he's entered with a knowing smile. Thanks to his powers as an AVATAR, the crown prince can feel that power better than most. It's practically running through his veins.

"Let her run then," Remiel chuckles. "Perhaps it would do us both some good."

Meanwhile, Zekrom strikes the Dragonair down from the air with a STEEL WING. Once it collapses in a heap and falls unconscious, the royal produces an empty Luxury Ball to capture it.

The sound of a METAL BURST echoes throughout the woodland. A territorial DURALUDON has emerged from its cave to attack Remiel and his Kartana. And, to further complicate things, the royal could have sworn he'd heard the screech of an AERODACTYL somewhere in the skies above. Though it seemed to be fading now and was likely headed towards some other prey it had managed to find.

Relieved to be dealing with just one threat at the moment, the crown prince sends his Kartana into battle. "VACUUM WAVE!" He commands, prompting the origami-like being to unleash a violent torrent of wind. Caught off guard by the tiny being's power, the Duraludon is effectively knocked upside-down and rendered unconscious.

Remiel pulls out and casts an empty Luxury Ball at the steel dragon afterward. When he goes to pick it up, however, he catches sight of something in the distance:

A familiar head of spiky blonde hair.

A HOUNDSTONE comes out whoofing from another hallway to inspect the commotion. It seems the canine had lived here back when it was, well... living. And, when it spotted Remiel and his Eelektross, it immediately went into a protective fit of aggression as it barreled towards them to try and DOUBLE-EDGED attack.

Thankfully, Eurynome swiftly evaded the attack and CRUNCHED down on the ghostly canine before it could reach the crown prince. There was a brief struggle afterward but, eventually, the Houndstone was completely subdued.

As he produces a Luxury Ball from his pack with one hand, Remiel waves at with the other. "Hello there. Are you exploring Mauville Hills for fun as well?" He inquires, casting the ball down at the Houndstone.

Oh. Of course.

Remiel supposed he shouldn't feel insulted either. The fact that they'd sent a thirteen year old to watch over him was still surprising nonetheless, however. But, at the very least, they had granted him the clemency to prove himself.

"I was riding dragons at thirteen," He remarks, mostly to himself than the boy. "Then again, that was KALOS..." Boys grew into men quickly in Kalos. Especially those of the TOUSIGNANT clan. "But that's beside the point. I see logic in your reasoning, so I'll go along with it. But the moment I say 'go', you go... understand?" The royal adds.

Before Absalom really has a chance to respond, however, Remiel spots his Hatterene out of the corner of his eye: hiding next to one of the exits as a man clad in a gas mask opens the door. When he realizes the Pokémon is there, he audibly gasps and reaches for his walkie-talkie to warn the others— then is immediately subdued when the Hatterene places her hat-hand over his face to DRAIN him.

The masked man collapses onto the ground in a heap, and Remiel looks both ways before swiftly (but quietly) regrouping with Aethelwyne. One hushed scolding later, the royal drags the body behind a nearby dumpster before removing the gas mask and offering it to Absalom.

"Here, take this." He says, shielding his own nostrils from the smog with one arm. "I'll find another one."

Hammerlocke?

The sudden jerk that came with the bumper car moving only served to distract him for a moment before he turns to regard Vyce with his gaze once more. If she was from there then... did she already know she was sitting next to the CROWN PRINCE? Perhaps not.

There were countless people in Galar who didn't know or care who the current royalty was, after all. Just as Remiel wasn't up to date on much of the current ROCKSTARS of today's generation. So, naturally, he didn't blame them.

Just as he's about to answer her question, another bumper car driver slams into them with a hoot. Herschel cheers, swinging his long yellow eyes to and fro as he urges them to retaliate. Remiel, in the meantime, clears a breath he hadn't realized had been stuck in his throat.

"I came to HOENN to be an archaeologist. I'm from HAMMERLOCKE, too." Though his accent made it quite clear that he'd been raised in a different Hammerlocke than she.

A TAILLOW swoops in next from one of the holes present in the wall. After flying so high and so far, the little bird is exhausted. When it catches sight of the Appletun, however, it is suddenly reinvigorated: enough to try and fly over for a PECK of its crispy crust.

It takes a moment for Radagast to realize he is being fed upon. But, when he does, he shoos the little bird away with a splash of APPLE ACID. Then he resumes his own search.

Illeana's capacity for crafting theories and connecting strings within such abstract concepts was fascinating. As an archaeologist, Remiel did something similar. The subject matter they discussed here, however, was an entirely different ballgame. In fact, trying to keep up with it all made him feel like an adolescent at boarding school again.

That being said, it is no wonder the royal doesn't interrupt or cast his own theories in when Illeana pauses to think. One didn't make suggestions or interrupt the painter swept up in the whirlwind of their muse, after all. He wouldn't dare be the reason for crashing her train of thought here.

So Remiel simply stares at her instead; patiently waiting. And, just as he begins to realize how truly beautiful she is in the midst of such a state, she speaks up, and he hastily buries the thought as if he'd been on the precipice of voicing it.

"R-Right." He responds as he catches his throat. "I suppose we can test that together then: prove one hypothesis or another." He adds, holding out the vial of plasma green blood for her to take. Meeting her eyes with his, he nods.

"I trust you. Do what you need to do."

Remiel pauses... then, eventually, he nods. There's a comfort in hearing that and seeing the spark of determination in her eyes. Though he would be lying if he said some part of him hadn't been hoping to hear otherwise.

"Very well," He responds, retreating his hand from her shoulder as he sighs. "There will be a lot to go over then. A lot you need to learn. But, for now, I think we've covered enough." He adds, turning back to his desk and glancing at a Galarian newspaper upon it.

Perhaps he should mention that he likely wouldn't be welcomed as the crown prince in Galar anymore. But that was another can of worms for another day, he supposed. Instead, the Galarian Ambassador takes his seat before putting on a smile for his cousin. "And... thank you, Elise."

A SANDYGAST has managed to find itself lost within the tall tower. It slithers about in search of the exit so that it may return to the beach it calls home below. Instead, it finds and spooks Radagast with an ASTONISHED look.

The Appletun flinches in response. This gives the possessed sand enough time to slither away and FLEE.
