Out with the old, in with the new. Given the void that was left in the city of Mauville by cait alfric 's retirement, a new gym was built. Whereas the previous gym was warm, welcoming, and gave a sense of life - this one aims for the opposite. Upon entering the building, cold, reflective walls engulf you. Mirrors, relentless in their pursuit, surround you in each and every corner. Entering the gym requires you to surrender yourself and accept the following: you are never alone.[break][break]
Katherine's house of mirrors is haunted by many pokemon, with ghost-types being the royals of this unearthly jungle. The more playful pokemon often enjoy leaping through structures to meet and spook wary trainers and the gym's staff.

The gym battles take place in an enclosed arena that's been built with the image of a large mirror ball in mind. The ceiling, the floors, and even the walls reflect all they may find.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVE

The gym leader will match the prowess of the challenger for both formats. The number of badges you currently own will increase the difficulty of the battle. Your experience should be seen, heard, and felt during the battle in order for you to earn a badge from Katherine.[break][break][break]

Winners of the gym battle will receive the clairvoyance badge. Losers of the gym battle will receive a video recording of their defeat - so they can come prepared for their next challenge.[break][break][break]

FORMAT: TRADITIONAL

The traditional option comes with the guarantee of the gym leader only utilizing ghost-types for the course of the battle. However, those choosing the traditional format will only be allowed to challenge her for a one versus one battle.[break][break]

FORMAT: UNTRADITIONAL

The limits the gym leader has placed on herself are lifted, and she has the liberty of choosing any of her pokemon. She will accept both singles and doubles battles for this format.[break][break]

RULES

The following moves are banned from use: destiny bond and perish song.[break][break]
